Everyone wasn't thrilled. You can do it, way too expensive for the food. Unfortunately nothing special.

You should make a reservation in the evening hours to avoid an uncertain waiting time. Otherwise recommended without reservation.

Blockhouse is and remains a chain...everything costs extra, food is okay, if a little overpriced. Quality is okay, service was attentive, friendly but very business-like, telling us all sorts of things. You can do it, but there are much nicer steakhouses out there.

There were 5 people there, 4 of whom ordered rump steak. Unfortunately, they all had a bitter burnt taste. Probably due to the grill not being cleaned where the burnt food from the previous one was on it. The stick itself was not burned and reached perfect cooking levels, but the bitter burnt taste spoiled it. I regularly cook steaks on the grill at home. I was really disappointed.

Poor very poor steak ordered medium and received well done. Warm beer received a cold one after complaining on site. The person who works on the grill still has a lot to learn! The quality of the steaks was poor, it was much better in the past. I complained on site and pointed out all the deficiencies very clearly.

My rump steak ordered medium was then medium rare. A little too raw. Service was good. I really liked the atmosphere.

We were there with 3 couples on a Saturday evening. The positive thing was that we were able to reserve a table 2 hours in advance. Easy to reach by phone. The assigned table was literally IN THE MIDDLE of the restaurant. There was always something going on around us. After hours of looking at furniture, we wanted to come down, but that wasn't possible given the hustle and bustle. There are also quieter places. When making reservations, you should ask not to be seated in the middle. Out of 6 people, 5 had burgers and unfortunately they were disappointing. The patties were very dry and boring, the sauce was far too little. 3x was ordered with bacon, but only delivered twice. At the end someone was still hungry, but that is of course subjective. The boneless chicken leg was tasty, but the ratio of meat to side dish was not proportionate. Definitely not good value for money. The dishes ordered were too expensive for what you get. A baked potato doesn't cost much and fills you up. The lettuce was a large tablespoon full on two slices of cucumber to make it look bigger. The baguette was the second filling side dish. And then there were 2 small chunks of meat. You understand... The service was great. Attentive, always nice and offered us ice cream as a courtesy to the dry burger and deducted the remaining bacon from the bill as an extra. Very hardworking and personable. Overall, that couldn't save the dinner. We wished we could eat something good in peace and quiet. We got loud, unsuccessful, overly expensive food. Unfortunately, I made the recommendation and reserved the table, so the bottom line was that I didn't have a great experience.

Was there with my husband today, thought and enjoyed it again before I'm gone for 3 weeks. Simply wonderfully comfortable. Would love to come back. I'll be back there in October with my girlfriend. Steak is always good and was again extremely tasty. The ambience is a bit old and still has the charm of the late 80s but as usual clean and ok

Very good steak restaurant, unfortunately a bit old-fashioned, but that doesn't really bother me as an old man.

At first everything was fine, although I had to return my steak because it was too well done. But that can happen, and after that my expectations were fully met in terms of taste and quality. The waiter who served us outside was very polite and courteous at the beginning and asked again during the meal whether everything was OK. However, when it came to paying, the tip didn't seem to be enough, which he made clear to us. We didn't just give 10 cents, but even then it's inappropriate to treat your guests like that. There was neither a thank you nor a goodbye, the bill was literally thrown on the table. This behavior is unacceptable.

No frills - Zack Zack :-) Rip-Eye Mastercut Steak - almost melts in your mouth - nice and juicy - a treat for the palate. 👍 The employees are all very friendly and top. You feel good.

We ate at Block House Am Aegi before going to the theater. The atmosphere and the staff were great, there is nothing to complain about. Unfortunately the food (Mr. Rumpsteak) was anything but great. The steak was very streaky and tough. We were there with six people and unfortunately everyone who ate a steak (three people) found it tough and mixed. A pity…..

Went there for dinner with 6 people. Apparently it was on the wrong day, because the waiter who served us was quite brisk and, above all, cheeky if not cheeky. 2 people The group even suggested leaving the location again. Then things didn't turn out as the waiter loudly and arrogantly announced...the steaks, which weren't exactly cheap, weren't grilled as desired for three people. After 10 minutes the waiter came to the table and asked if everything was fine...no, it wasn't. Well, you should have said something sooner, then the steaks would have been remade. Well thank you very much, we were almost finished eating. At the end, the waiter pointed out again that HE hadn't grilled the steaks. My goodness, what a guy. In short, the food was ok, not amazing, and quite carelessly prepared. There's better somewhere else for the price. There wasn't a cent tip for this rather poor performance. Let's not go there anymore.

We were in the restaurant at lunchtime and were able to sit outside. The service staff was very attentive and friendly. However, I was very disappointed with the food I ordered. The chicken thighs appeared to have only been cooked. The skin lay pale and wobbly against the flesh. The meat wasn't seasoned well either; Luckily there was pepper and salt on the table. The baked potato wasn't really hot and looked like it was left over from the night before. Unfortunately, the blockhouse bread wasn't crispy at all, it was chewy but tasted good as usual. The coleslaw salad garnish was excellent. My husband had the Mrs Rump Steak. The meat was of the usual good quality and cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and crunchy, the bread and the baked potato, like mine, could be improved. It's a shame, we really enjoy eating here, but at least I was disappointed.

Very pleasant restaurant, classic American atmosphere. Service is very friendly and attentive, people actively ask for special requests - something you rarely see these days! The drinks took a little longer for me, but it was also a Friday evening and a bit busy. The food came quickly and with the starter at a good interval. The prices are high, but appropriate for the quality. Anyone who has ever been to another Blockhouse knows the steaks and burgers. Overall very tasty, great service and reasonably priced.

Friendly, friendly staff, but unfortunately it has now become too expensive due to price increases due to smaller portions. I actually like the typical block house ambience, but due to the high density of guests when the restaurant is full, it has become too loud and therefore too uncomfortable for me here at the Aegi. I'd rather go to the restaurant on Thielenplatz.

It was another lovely evening, extremely tasty food and great service. So you can eat meat, it's always worth it.

I was there for the first time today and I was a bit torn. Starter bruschetta - was good, but not very good. Quantity - enough for an appetizer. Main course cheeseburger - here the pattie is unfortunately a bit dry and the burger in general is a bit dry. I would think it would be good if there was a burger sauce with it. That would be even better. But the taste of meat, bacon and cheese was good. Fries could have used a little more salt. In terms of quantity in terms of price - rather little. You could have put some bread on top. Then it would have been good. We also had beef medallions with potato gratin and vegetables - the taste was also very good, but unfortunately the quantity was definitely not enough for the price! You could add a third medallion - then it would be good again! Dessert - Belgian waffle with sour cherries and vanilla ice cream - in short: top, top, top! The waffle was super tasty and fresh, the cherries were also good and the vanilla ice cream was also good. The waffle lifted everything - perfectly caramelized! Second dessert was apple strudel - which was rather so-so. Although served extremely hot, the taste was unfortunately rather average. Regarding the service - also rather mixed. Everything was great at the beginning, but we had to wait a relatively long time until our dishes were cleared away and then dessert could be ordered. All in all - the price is rather more expensive, the taste is good, but there is still potential for improvement. :-)

We were in Hanover today with 5 adults and 2 children. I had reserved the table at Blockhouse am Aegi 3 weeks ago. The food was absolutely first class. The steaks were cooked to the desired point, the children were looked after so well by Mr. Inan Arslan, crayons, craft scissors and the children also came first when it came to eating. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed, always great food and absolutely nice, friendly and attentive staff. We will come back....

I think drink prices are too high. For 2 sirloin steaks, a cola and a non-alcoholic wheat we paid €52.70 without a tip

I swear, I had one of the best steaks ever here. I've almost given up on 'steak houses' because most are tough or full of gristle. This, however, was 1st class. I can highly recommend it. Oh, and the staff were very pleasant. They made sure (as an Englishman) that I fully understood their menu etc. Thank you for a wonderful experience 😊

Anyone who knows Blockhouse knows what to expect. When we stopped in - with a reservation, otherwise you have to wait in line for a long time, especially if there is something going on in the theater across the street - there was a lot going on, but the service worked very well and the food was delicious, as expected. You can stay there for 1.5 hours and then the table will be re-booked. But this was already mentioned in advance when making the reservation.

I've been a regular customer here for years. The food is solidly good, but the prices have risen quite a bit in recent years. Overall, nice service, familiar, of course different from person to person. There's an 80s atmosphere here, which I like. It is difficult to get a table without a reservation (the latter is only possible to a limited extent)

Very good restaurant for steak lovers! ☆☆☆☆☆ We were at the Blockhouse again today and got a nice table straight away and without a reservation. Lunchtime during the week is quite busy. That's why I recommend making a reservation or being there promptly at 12:00. We ate beef steak and it was really tender and tasty. Plus starter soup, salad and dessert. The steak was grilled to perfection and really great. The service is very friendly and accommodating. We hardly had to wait. The food also came quickly and the individual courses came quickly one after the other. We can absolutely recommend it!

Unfortunately, my salad was mostly brown and had almost nothing to do with a Cesar salad (iceberk). Next to our table there was stress because two male southerners had not been served for a long time and wanted to look for trouble. After the threat of a slap in the face, the police were threatened. But the beer tasted better afterwards. But the wait staff (especially the presumably Albanian woman who disguises herself as a Spanish woman from Napoli but is super funny) should be a little more relaxed. It was still a nice evening, two stars deducted because of the brown salad, but it's my own fault, why don't I eat meat. I'll come back anyway and if it's better, I'll be happy to give a better rating.

Damn bad staff that really can't do anything. After serving the starter, I waited 50 minutes for the main course. After repeatedly requesting Coca Cola Zero, this was not accepted until I asked another employee about it. You should never go there after 9 p.m. because then the employees no longer want to do their job and make small talk behind the counter. Abnormal service. I can't name names because I don't know them. Never again !!!!!!!!!!

This restaurant is by no means pet friendly. Our little dog was allowed in, but had to squeeze under the table even though he was sitting obediently next to us in his bag. I have never experienced anything so unfriendly in a restaurant. In addition, the portions are getting smaller and smaller, for two mini pieces of meat and a bit of potato gratin they now charge €25, the tiny little bread that goes with it now costs €1.10. Only bad. In other restaurants that also belong to the Blockhaus group you are treated more friendly and there is more on your plate.

There's no need to discuss the food, it's top notch. But what we experienced left me a little speechless. We had a table reservation on February 29th. All well and good, we were greeted in a friendly manner and we were allowed to choose a table, which I didn't even know about, but well, we didn't think about it any further. We ordered food and drinks and it was great. After the meal, we had chatted for a bit, I ordered a latte macchiato, which I then had to extinguish at the end because we were promptly asked to pay and leave. We were only there for 1.5 hours, it was neither in the reservation nor were we told when we arrived that we had to vacate the table after 1.5 hours. I was so speechless that I had to wonder whether I had just dreamed that. That really disappointed me. If we hadn't made a reservation, none of this would have been an issue, but what? It would have been really nice to know straight away rather than basically being thrown out. Think about it, perhaps telling the guests in advance when they have to leave.

I was very disappointed. Despite having an appetizer, we went out for a pizza afterwards. The food cannot be faulted. The meat was very good. We just didn't think the quantity was enough. A pity. The service was good.
