We happened upon this steak restaurant today while passing through and were delighted. The service was very attentive, friendly, and prompt from the moment we left. The rib-eye mastercut steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, just as ordered. The salad was fresh, and all the ingredients were very fresh and finely chopped/shredded. I also really enjoyed the American dressing.

The food is perfect. So is the service.

We've been going to the BLOCK HOUSE at the Aegi for ages. We love the steaks, the sour cream, and the steak sauce. The quality has been consistently excellent for decades. Even compared to other Block House restaurants, the one at the Aegi is particularly outstanding. We've always received excellent service here and always felt comfortable. We definitely recommend it.

Block House – it used to be something truly special. Today, the food is still exactly the same, which, for me personally, is boring and overpriced.

At a business lunch, the waitress informed my guest that exchanging the baked potato (€4.50) for grilled vegetables (€4.50) wasn't possible. Then the extra herb butter was forgotten. This is incomprehensible for a meal costing €150 for two people.

I've said it before: If you want a good steak, no fuss, with excellent sides, go to Block House. And that's true here too. Careful service completes the experience.

Very good steakhouse. Block House quality, here you get the steak served exactly as you order it. At some other restaurants, there's always room for improvement. The service is impeccable, always pleasant and friendly. Here, you're still treated as a "guest," not just a customer. The restaurant may have stuck in a time 30 years ago, but it's simply the perfect fit for a steakhouse. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the steaks at Block House have significantly declined in quality. The meat was stringy and hard to chew, yet again. The bread was black, I complained about it and received a new one. Conclusion: I won't be back anytime soon.

A truly perfect restaurant visit. The food was amazing, the staff incredibly friendly, and especially Domenic, who served us so well. You could really tell that they live and breathe gastronomy. We'd be happy to return anytime.

Mushroom pan was disappointing, too salty and the meat too dry

We spontaneously arrived at the restaurant with a group of 25 people and received a very warm welcome! The service was excellent and the food was amazing!!!!!

Didn't get great service and was quite unhappy with my cheeseburger. The others in my company had better luck with the food, but it wasn't very quick to get it.

We were in Hanover today with 5 adults and 2 children. I had reserved the table at Blockhouse am Aegi 3 weeks ago. The food was absolutely first class. The steaks were cooked to the desired point, the children were looked after so well by Mr. Inan Arslan, crayons, craft scissors and the children also came first when it came to eating. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed, always great food and absolutely nice, friendly and attentive staff. We will come back...

My family and I visited the Block House at Aegie for the first time, and in addition to delicious food, we enjoyed very friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere in a cozy setting. We will definitely be back. The only minor drawback was that there were no lactose-free desserts. Perhaps something for the future. 5 stars nonetheless!

We were there on a Friday evening and could have gotten a seat even without a reservation. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. Even though it wasn't quiet due to the street, the traffic from the nearby road didn't bother us. Regarding the food and service: The food (we both had steaks) was good. Some were quite fatty, but tasty. The service could have been much more attentive and rounded out the experience. We'll probably choose a different steakhouse next time. What a shame...

I'd like to preface this by saying that we've eaten at this restaurant several times, but today the service was "substandard." We ordered a steak tartare as an appetizer because the menu said "shareable." I also explicitly stated when ordering that we wanted to share a portion. The steak tartare came on one plate, and I told the waitress that she could take the plate back and share the portion. She replied with a resounding "No," saying that it wasn't listed on the menu. However, I showed her on the menu that this particular addition was listed under the steak tartare. She left and came back a few minutes later with the steak tartare and an empty plate, so we shared the portion ourselves. I then ordered a non-alcoholic shandy. She received a non-alcoholic beer and a carafe of clear liquid, with no mention of mixing the shandy yourself. My wife ordered a fitness pan, which is her favorite dish there. This fitness pan seemed to consist of 80% onions, a few other vegetables, and a few strips of beef. I had a rib-eye steak, which was delicious as always. Finally, after clearing the table, a dessert menu appeared, but after more than 20 minutes, no server took our order, so we settled for dessert. We were quite disappointed, as we're not used to that, given the high prices and the fact that this isn't a takeaway.

Food: = recommended! My partner and I have already met up for dinner at Block House several times; it was delicious = recommended. Dessert: Unfortunately, no! ...I can't recommend the apple strudel dessert, unfortunately, it really wasn't good.

Great steaks, terrible service! The service at the Block House at the Aegi in Hanover has become incredibly poor. We had an excellent dinner (tenderloin) and ordered "ice cream and chocolate" for dessert. And waited. And waited. And waited. After 20 minutes (!!!) of waiting, the waitress came and told us it would take another 20 minutes! We ordered a simple dessert, a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, and no crème brûlée or crêpes Suzette. More than 20 minutes for a simple ice cream? Impossible!

Top food super friendly service

We were there for a birthday. We're usually fans of Blockhouse. Our waitress seemed very stressed this time, though. Almost all of the steaks we ordered were very good. Unfortunately, the baked potatoes were rather mushy. It's also a shame that we had to beg for a little more potato curd. With six people, only a small bowl is pretty meager. A no-go, however, was that a person who ordered a medium-rare fillet, which was served almost raw, then had to wait until everyone else had finished their meal. We asked several times, but it didn't help. We normally wanted to cancel this meal. It's fine that the steak isn't cooked to perfection sometimes, but having to wait forever for a recooked piece of meat isn't the kind of service we've come to expect from Blockhouse. A real shame... There wasn't even a proper apology. Maybe you shouldn't eat there when the place is a bit busier.

The great thing is that the quality here has remained the same for over 20 years. And the staff is always friendly and accommodating—thumbs up, too. 👍 Unfortunately, I have to steal the stars for the service. When four of us were there last Saturday, we were very disappointed. It wasn't busy, and yet we waited what felt like an eternity for our food. No one even asked if everything was okay during our meal. I'm not used to that at all at Block House. When we were all finished, the empty plates sat on our table for half an hour. We actually wanted to order dessert, but decided against it. What a shame. 😒 And I noticed that something had changed in the recipe for the American dressing. 🥲

This was truly our last time at the Block House. The last time was a disaster, so we haven't been here for a while. Our craving for the beef fillet made us try it again. Unfortunately, the waiter, who was the same last time, was unfriendly, took the wrong order, didn't clear the table, etc. The fillet was good, the vegetables were woody or overcooked, the bread was a joke, and the potatoes were watery and tasteless.

I recently visited the Block House at the Aegi restaurant and was absolutely thrilled. The service was friendly, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive – just right! The food arrived quickly and, as always, was spot on: The steak was perfectly grilled, juicy, and tender, and the sides were fresh and delicious. I particularly want to highlight the homemade bread and crisp salad – simply delicious. The ambiance is cozy, clean, and inviting. You can tell that quality and hospitality are a top priority here. Even though it was busy, everything ran smoothly and professionally. I'll definitely be back – an absolute recommendation for all steak lovers in Hanover!

You can tell it's a chain. Nevertheless, our food was good, and the service was very friendly despite the busy times. Our steaks, however, could have been a bit hotter. Unfortunately, there's no accessible restroom. Making a reservation in advance is highly recommended. Four stars.

I went there with two friends; we were really hungry. Two of the steaks weren't cooked properly and were cold. The salad was so-so. My onion soup wasn't that tasty; it was too salty. I've had much, much better food. I definitely won't be going there again.

Several of us came here for dinner. Unfortunately, we remember the Block House from earlier times, when the herb butter served with steak was a beautiful flower on the plate. Now, for an extra charge, it's a sloppy slab of butter. For six steak eaters with baked potatoes, we got a small gravy boat of sour cream. The potatoes themselves had very little sour cream on them. That, too, was completely different back then. It's a shame; we'll think twice about coming back.

I ate there for the first time and was immediately pleasantly surprised. The service was reliable and courteous. The food was incredibly delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos. The ambiance is a mix of country house and wooden cabin. Totally cozy. I highly recommend a visit.

I can definitely recommend it. My steak was okay, but my friends' two steaks weren't so good, but we didn't know why. It always took a while for the waiter to arrive. The exterior could use some sprucing up, but the interior is fine. Otherwise, there's nothing negative to report.

We went there for dinner on Father's Day. We received a friendly welcome and sat outside. Our children immediately got something to draw—that deserves 10 stars. The food was simply amazing! Delicious and fresh, especially the garlic bread. We did have to wait a bit, but the place was very busy. And the people who work there can't perform magic. Good food takes time, after all.

I was here the day I proposed to my girlfriend – it was truly amazing. The dinner was organized beyond my expectations. The staff were exceptional, and the food was also excellent.

How can someone come in and claim they've been waiting outside (with a small child in their arms as leverage?) and claim they've been waiting forever... And then they're supposed to be given priority. They're threatening me with the police if I complain. Since they said they can check the camera to see if my husband pushed the waitress, I would recommend watching the video.

It was alright. The salad dressing was super thick…and felt like it was over-processed and out of a jar. The drinks menu for spirits was seriously lacking. No rum except a 3yr white, no gin other than Gordon’s, no cocktails. The steak itself was decent - if you get the filet mignon. Go medium. They landed up swapping the order - didn’t want pepper or one steak, and wanted them cooked differently. They started rushing us over a half hour before the restaurant closed. We were a quiet pair in the corner, ordering drinks and spent over €100, so that was rather rude. Restaurant wasn’t busy that night - but a group of three men thought it was appropriate to have dinner with a fourth on FaceTime, so you can imagine what they thought the place was - an expensive McDonald’s.

Prompt service, eager to find solutions and delivering them. Food of the usual high quality. Central location. Reasonable value for money.

I've been eating at BLOCK HOUSE for years, and we've never had such tough meat. At first, we sent back a steak because it was almost rare instead of well done, but that can happen... And I know you shouldn't eat a steak well done. But all these years, I've always gotten a steak that was always nice and juicy and never tough. Really, really ...

Great food, T-bone and prime cut on the menu (if you're lucky) are our personal recommendations. On average, we visit the place twice a month; it's definitely our favorite restaurant. Oh, and the fries aren't bad either.

I know Block House from Hamburg and Bielefeld from probably 20 visits. But the very best steak was here. Perfect cooking level down to the smallest detail and everything else is always great anyway!

I would have expected more for the money

So far we have always been satisfied. The last time we visited we weren't at all happy - the quality of the meat wasn't as usual. And it was totally over-fatty.

The food was good as always, only the steaks were a little too browned and the roasting was too intense. The service was very good. Since there were a lot of guests standing at the entrance without reservations, we unfortunately felt a bit under pressure.

After a short wait, we got a seat unannounced. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

So the meat is sometimes a 10/10 and sometimes more like a 7/10 because (in our opinion) there is too much fat. The staff is always great, but it's usually very busy so that you can hardly understand your own words.

The steaks were grilled well, and the salad was fresh and crispy. The service was very fast and attentive. However, we didn't like the somewhat bland appearance of the dishes. There was just the potato, the steak, and the bread on the plate. For just under €30, it wasn't that attractive. The taste was good, but that's also important given the price. I would have also preferred a dish with several steaks as a variation on the plate.

Food good as always, but today at lunchtime we waited 1 1/2 hours for our food (it wasn't the service), with 8 business partners!!! Telcos and follow-up meetings, all gone. You definitely have to do better ;-(

Steaks as always very, very tasty. Unfortunately I didn't like it at all, there were four of us, I had a starter, the others got the salad first. While I was still "busy" with my starter, the service with the main courses suddenly appeared and the plate with the main course was pushed next to my plate with the starter. Somehow it doesn't work at all!

We had booked a table for 9 people on Saturday for the 5:30-7:00 p.m. time slot. We were there at 5 p.m. and were politely asked to wait outside. Unfortunately, when we asked to have a drink standing up, it wasn't possible because there wasn't enough space... when the guests left our assigned table, we were able to take the table on time at 5:30 p.m. The service and food was very good. When we were finished with the main course we were offered a dessert. Since we were all full, we politely refused the waiter and asked for the bill at 6:30 p.m. We received these promptly! When we had paid we were then informed that the next group was already waiting. It was 6:35 p.m The women each had half a glass of wine which they wanted to drink (7.50 euros per glass). Between 6:35 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. the waiter informed us twice that the new group was already waiting. It's a shame that after paying, you're no longer worth being a guest at Blockhaus... the lovely evening had a very bad end for us. You should consider whether you want to pay so much money for this mass processing. We had to leave the restaurant 10 minutes before our booked time slot so that the new group could take their place. If we had ordered dessert we probably would have had to eat it to go

We were invited at the end of December. The atmosphere took us back to the 70s and 80s, which was nice. The service is courteous and friendly. 👍 However, as a vegetarian, there isn't really anything tasty for me. I put something together from the side dishes, with the result that I had 5 individual bowls of side dishes on the table, even though I said so when ordering. 🥱 Well, that could have been solved more gallantly. It's a shame because I came to almost €30.00. It was nothing for me! The meat eaters were enthusiastic about the meat, but not so much about the rest. I think this should also be rethought in order to offer guests something for this “eating out” event at €30-40 per person. Otherwise people will go to restaurants even less, which would be a shame. 😋 If I don't have a super modern facility, maybe I need something different?

As always good, traditional atmosphere from the good old days, the food perfect as always. Great service, friendly and accommodating. The only criticism is that the 0.3 beer is a bit excessive at 4 euros.

The food was very good. Steak nice and rare (as ordered) and still very tender. That's how it should be. The employees are all very friendly and cheerful. The restaurant is very large, so the ambience suffers somewhat. We will definitely come back!

All in all very disappointing. It wasn't until we started ordering high-priced steaks and shots that we were treated nicely. The fillet steaks were very different sizes and were charred on the outside. Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is no longer right.

Nice dinner with family, great steaks and desserts

We had reserved a table for a business lunch together, which my German colleague registered under his name. Arrived early, I waited at the entrance to be assigned the reserved table. Some service employees walked past me and I tried to keep eye contact, but of course I didn't think anything of it because after all they were probably busy. A couple came up behind me. The service employee who was working at the salad bar noticed this, stopped what she was doing and then asked them if they had made a reservation and then finally brought them to the table, while she just looked at me but paid no other attention. In the end, I thought I had waited too long and told the next service employee that I had made a reservation. I was then brought to the table. My German colleague, who came later, was immediately welcomed and brought to my table. He told me that the service employee said: "There's already an Asian sitting there." And that meant me. I'm not usually one to immediately judge racism, but this was pretty clear to me. The food was good by Blockhouse standards, but luckily there are other Blockhouse restaurants in Hanover that you can go to for that.

Absolutely perfect, great service, great food

The food is of a decent standard and the service is friendly. Unfortunately, when you make a reservation it is not pointed out that it is only valid for 1.5 hours. If you order a round of drinks after your meal, you will then be informed in a friendly but firm manner that the table will be needed again. Since a visit to a restaurant under time pressure is out of the question for me, that's it for the Blockhouse. With the current rush, no one will be interested in this, I'm aware of that.

Hello, I would like to criticize the Blockhouse restaurant at Aegi. It was my girlfriend's birthday and we wanted to have a nice evening. Everyone ordered a nice piece of meat...when the food arrived and we wanted to start eating, we realized that their steak was okay but my steak was almost completely raw on the inside, really like it had been taken out of the fridge, although I ordered medium. Then they took the cut piece of meat back for me, my friend was able to eat alone on her birthday because I waited about 15 minutes until it was brought back. But it didn't get better, when my friend finished eating alone on her birthday, my meat came back, they fried my cut pieces again (you could see the piece of meat was just not good) so that the crust was completely black on the outside, On the contrary, inside it was still raw in most places and I couldn't really eat any of it. All in all, a bad birthday for you, which I'm very sorry about. There was only one chocolate cake for free :)

Visit today. Short waiting time for the table, the toilets were in a very dirty condition. There are also no more toilet seats - which of course doesn't make the impression visually particularly attractive. These should be replaced urgently and there should be checkpoints for cleaning. The service staff was very friendly, but what was noticeable was that other service staff were working with large hoop earrings and nails. When the food came we had a steak which unfortunately wasn't edible - it was replaced but of course we had to eat alone - which was a shame. In terms of taste, everything was normal but not special - the baked potato was also edible, but not a highlight. You could also choose a little better fries for 4.50 and add more sauces to justify the price. Music could also help to curb the loud conversations. Anyone can afford Block House anywhere, but you have to look in which direction the company wants to go?

Everything tasted good. The house meat is recommended. Despite the big city, the prices are ok)). The waiter was also very nice, even lending him his charger. Am satisfied. Gladly again at any time.
