Unfortunately, I was also there on New Year's Eve and can fully understand the bad recession. There were two of us there and we were then seated at a table with another couple. The overwhelmed usher seated two different couples at each table of four, who had also arrived at different times. He thought he was so great that he asked several times how great his idea was. The idea wasn't great, it was just a money-making scheme. Logically, we were then allowed to watch the other couple eat before our food came. If I reserve a table for two people, I want to sit at a table with two people and not with strangers. The next joke was the prices. Instead of taking the regular card, they had the next great idea. The steak was €5 more expensive that evening than usual. A very poorly formatted card was printed out especially for New Year's Eve. The drinks were, of course, outrageously expensive. The food was ok, but the weight of the steak was probably just a rough guide. You then had to go forward to pay. There was no service that evening. Due to all the circumstances, there was of course no tip, which the woman at the cash register didn't understand. I then pointed out to her that she could see the outrageous price increase as a tip...

Very good food, very friendly service

Unfortunately not recommended, we were there spontaneously. Drinks, a burger and 2 steaks were ordered. The wrong drink came because the waitress unfortunately didn't speak German very well. Not so bad so far. Then came 3 steaks, before the meat was thrown away we said it was ok, let's eat anyway. Unfortunately, the ribeye was raw instead of medium rare. We were offered to fry it, but to be honest we didn't feel like it anymore. The steaks were charged at full price, which I don't think is right because we didn't order a steak and we only accepted it because otherwise it would be thrown away and it would be a shame. Never again, sorry

Impossible staff. The staff drops beer on their guests and their clothing (2 times in 10 minutes) There was no apology or other attention for this. While half of our group had already finished eating, the other half didn't even get their food. After ordering a drink 10 times and getting the wrong one 10 times, I got up and went home. Employees and boss overall also very unreasonable!!!!! Eating is ok, but you can get just as good a steak in the pan at home.

What we experienced in this restaurant on New Year's Eve 2024 defies description. We had reserved a table and were there on time. Space was first created here by an older gentleman transferring guests or simply politely putting them outside the door after they had finished eating. Then we were able to order our drinks, which we then waited 30 minutes for. Our observations revealed absolute chaos in the service and not enough professional staff. We then ordered our food from a New Year's Eve only menu. Here the dishes were all 5.00 euros to 10.00 euros more expensive than on the usual menu. Now the waiting began. Several guests have already complained about the lack of service and missing orders. Other guests left the restaurant without getting drinks. When I pointed out to the waitress after 1 1/2 hours that we still had no food, I was put off. After another quarter of an hour the waitress came to tell us that our food order had been lost. I immediately demanded our food and the drinks we had consumed so far at the house's expense as an apology. Here the waitress replied that she wouldn't bring any food. We were outraged at how unreasonable and delitant this restaurant was run and how our New Year's Eve was completely ruined by this service team. At 10.30pm we left this place hungry and very disappointed. We will never set foot in here again and I can only recommend it to everyone. The food, if you get some, may be good, but we couldn't judge that.

Absolute catastrophe, so all the positive reviews don't make sense to me at all. Waiters disorganized, long waiting times even for drinks. There were three of us and only two meals were brought out. After three quarters of an hour, even after several requests, the third meal was still not at the table (the other two had already eaten and we didn't have any more drinks either), so did the waitress still unfriendly what we are so upset about. The neighboring tables also waited in vain for their food or drinks

We booked a table for 5 people at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve! Unfortunately, everyone is completely overwhelmed! The boss and his head waiter were the biggest blind pests there were! The biggest shame was that these blind pests then added €5.00 - €10.00 to each dish and still didn't serve it after 2.0 hours! Absolutely not recommended! You really can't go there!

It was fine. The service was nice. Had a salad. Unfortunately the dressing wasn't enough and the taste wasn't quite up to my liking either. But it could also be me. My friend had a steak. That was fine too. Unfortunately not anymore overall.

The food was OK. I've eaten significantly better steaks, but also worse ones. However, I think the dishes are too expensive for the quality. However, the service is really terrible. The waiter was disorganized and unfriendly. We had to wait a long time to place our orders. Furthermore, after we had our food, we were practically forgotten. When paying, you simply wanted to pocket a tip (for what special service, please?!) by not giving the change and simply wanting to charge the next guest. It doesn't work at all! It doesn't help if the cook comes out of the kitchen every now and then and asks the table whether it was tasty. However, we obviously didn't have any food at that point... At times the music was turned up so loud that several tables complained. I cannot recommend a visit.

Super tasty steak and burgers. Unfortunately we were the only guests, which is not understandable as not only the food but also the hospitality was first class. Definitely a recommendation if you are in Hamburg or even live here. This restaurant definitely deserves more attention!!

Best restaurant in the area. I go there regularly with my colleagues and we are always very satisfied. Unfortunately, they haven't offered lunch for a while now, which is a real shame - that's why I'm not eating there anymore.

Food was good. Had a burger, the bun was a bit crispy 😔. But otherwise quite good, with curly fries in a small fried grid. These felt like they were in the fryer for 30-60 seconds too long, but they were OK. The price is totally OK for that 😀.

Very nice service. The food was very good, the homemade bread is amazing. We didn't have to wait long at all for food. If we had reserved the table earlier because of the earlier review, it wouldn't have been necessary. Overall great vacation experience. We'll be back on our next trip to Hamburg.

If you have a lot of time you can recommend this restaurant. Drinks were served about 40 minutes after waiting 30 minutes and the food came after a relaxed 150 minutes. For all the skeptics, no it wasn't full.

Unfortunately due to a lack of staff, the service was attentive and friendly but, including the kitchen, overwhelmed. But when it comes to the screw in the food, it stops. Apparently you can't expect anything more than a flippant apology from the boss. Very unfortunate.

The table was reserved for 6:30 p.m. After more than 30 minutes the drink order was taken and more than half an hour later the drinks were brought. We waited almost two hours for the food. The staff was extremely overwhelmed and significantly understaffed. The dishes were taken incorrectly and so not everyone got what was ordered or side dishes were completely missing. Unfortunately the visit was a complete disaster!

Food is OK but we only got drinks after 45 minutes since arriving and we've been here for over 2 hours and still no real food. (The restaurant is only half full) Even if there are few staff, you should find a solution, either a round of drinks on the house or save the outside area (if the weather is bad) and concentrate more on the inside area.

So the list is long, dress warmly and be patient. Our drinks only came after an hour, the starter came a little later and beforehand we were asked almost 5 times whether the drinks were correct. Then comes the highlight of the evening, the food. Everything went wrong with the food, the right contents for the burgers were missing, we were offered whether we could get these contents separately and we agreed. So after eating everything in vain and being at the counter yourself, the icing came. An ungrateful, cheekily high bill, a poor excuse that the assistant cook would be missing and God knows what it looks like when the cook is missing. When we asked for accommodation with the bill, they just cheekily threatened to call the police and we left! Never again !

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience there. We initially waited about 45 minutes for our drinks. After that we waited at least another 1.5 hours for our food. Then completely wrong burgers arrived. We had the Athens burger twice, which was supposed to have sheep's cheese and coleslaw on it. Instead, our burgers only had a simple slice of cheese. Another person in our group ordered the Londonburger, which was supposed to have a fried egg and bacon on it. Neither was present. When we discussed this, we received statements like "Oh, then the sheep's cheese was probably gone." In addition, the service staff touched our burgers without asking. We were then offered that, for example, sheep's cheese could be served later, which we accepted. In addition, we should be given a "round". Unfortunately, the sheep's cheese that was supposed to be served later didn't arrive. We then asked for the bill, whereupon we were made to wait another 45 minutes. When this came, we were offered another "round", which we declined because we didn't want to wait that long for it. When paying we asked for a discount. This was not granted to us. We were informed that we had rejected the round and supposedly also the sheep's cheese (which wasn't true). So we had to pay the entire price even though we got the wrong food and the food took an extremely long time. Also, we weren't really taken seriously by the person who served us.

Cozy and well-kept atmosphere, good price/performance ratio. The dishes were lovingly prepared and extremely tasty. Another plus: not quite as touristy because it's not in the classic flight paths ;-)

Hello everyone I actually have to say that I have rarely eaten such a good steak as I did here. Absolutely beautiful and cozy atmosphere with top service. The cuisine is excellent, I take my hat off to you It was a pleasure eating here.

I'm always skeptical about steaks. Not everyone can do that. But really summed up excellently here. Very friendly and accommodating. Even the boss took care of us with a friendly conversation. Our requests for changes to the supplements were implemented without further ado. The fillet steak is highly recommended. Thank you for the hospitality.

A wonderful restaurant with excellent service and delicious food…

I had rump steak, I had fried potatoes and my wife had sweet potato fries. There's nothing wrong with it. Steak perfectly on point, sweet potato fries and the fried potatoes were perfect. Anyone who likes to eat well will pack an extra €10 and go to Big Bull in Hamburg.

Perfect portion, good price and cozy atmosphere

We both agreed this is by far the best rump steak we've had to date, mine was medium and partners medium/rare. Well worth its money. It beat a top UK restaurant we've eaten at, Staff were friendly although their English was limited it didn't cause any problems. We will return when we go back.

The worst restaurant visit of my life. We were a group of six people, overall everything was bad that evening. We ordered quite quickly and waited 20 to 30 minutes for the drinks. After about 60 minutes we still had no food and were about to leave when it finally came (incorrectly). One person at our table received the wrong dish three times (first wrong side dishes, then wrong doneness, then wrong doneness again with wrong side dishes again). The right dish finally arrived when everyone else had already eaten. When the dish was repeatedly returned, the owner's wife responded unfriendly and accusatory. When the final complaint was made, the owner himself was unreasonable, a know-it-all and blamed his employees. Nobody wants to work anymore, everyone is lazy and everyone would rather collect unemployment benefits and he wouldn't be to blame. He would always do everything right and if he did everything alone, it would work. Then he should probably do that too. He went on for a long time about how good and holy he was and that he had cooked for the homeless during the pandemic, etc. etc. Nice, honorable, unfortunately absolutely irrelevant in this case. There were two rounds of drinks as an apology. He ruined this over the course of the evening through repeated absolutely inappropriate and outrageous behavior. Finally, he led our group in front of a regulars' table and explained that we just have to know how to enjoy food and if we don't do that, it's our own fault. A pity! There was just nothing going on that evening. The product was completely neglected, even though it could have been very good. But that's not the best way to enjoy the best piece of meat. Important: The employees can't do anything about it. The waitress at our table had her first day. This is absolutely excusable. He took longer but was friendly and accommodating and apologized several times. The fish stinks from the head. Addendum: For being called a steakhouse, the restaurant has a very limited selection of steaks.

We ate here as a couple after seeing the musical The Lion King. We were warmly welcomed and given our booked table. The ambience is modern with classic bull heads on the wall, as is usual in a steakhouse. The tables are placed quite close together, so you're almost sitting on your neighbor's lap. The staff seemed quite overwhelmed, as the boss apparently took a trainee waiter by the hand, but he was friendly. The burger was ok, but could have been cooked a little more medium as it was quite cooked through. The fries were in the deep fryer a little too long. It was tasty, but wouldn't come here again because of the food. It was also quite loud and poorly ventilated. You can come and eat here, but there are definitely better alternatives in our home country.

Probably the worst restaurant visit ever! The store was half full and we had to wait 45 minutes to be able to order drinks - before that we were ignored despite repeated requests. We then ordered our food straight away, for which we had to wait 120 minutes! When the food was brought, we were told that a steak we had ordered was no longer there and therefore had not been prepared... mind you, the information came when the other steaks were brought to the table after 2 hours! At the same time, other guests also had massive problems with the wrong steaks and the wrong cooking level. The staff is apparently new and had to get the dishes spelled out... The quality of the steaks wasn't anything special either, rather a bit tasteless. We won't be coming back under any circumstances.

Absolutely underground, after 1 hour of waiting there wasn't even the starter at the table. Even at the neighboring tables the orders were wrong or suddenly no longer available. The service couldn't help it, the management team should restructure itself. Even for drinks we had to wait forever, we've had better service here before. Even if it's a Saturday, you should put what's on the menu on your plate.

Steak is a must when you visit, exactly as the name suggests

I wouldn't eat here again for the chicken, but I highly recommend the entrecôte.

Worst place. Ever! Do yourself a favor and don’t go there. No personel speak a word of english. It took 30 minutes to get a menu, and it took 50 minutes just to get drinks. When we finally ordered our food, the waiter repeated to us, what we ordered to make sure. When the food came, we didn’t get anything of what we ordered, but the waiter said, the rest would come (we just ordered fries and sauce). But our food never came. The meat was dry, the steak was soaked in blood and fluids, and didn’t rest. The potato was soaked in creme fraiche and was cold. When another waiter came after ‘we finished eating’, she asked if it was good, and we all said NO! And she just went silent and took our plates out. Overpriced place with horrible food and the worst service, we’ve ever experienced! Would’ve given it 0 stars if possible.

Ordered drinks twice, one was forgotten twice. 1 hour waiting time for the food when the tables are only half full is definitely too long. The food was a disaster, especially the steaks and in a steakhouse. The rest is also not very convincing or not at all convincing. Never again!

Wir waren zum zweiten Mal hier, nachdem wir das Restaurant bei unserem letzten Hamburg-Besuch eher zufällig gefunden haben. Das Essen ist ein Traum. Wir haben lange nicht mehr so zarte Steaks gegessen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und bemüht. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!
