This restaurant makes a good impression due to its ambiance. However, the food is unacceptable for the high prices. Lots of fried food from the Asian kitchen sentence construction kit and tough beef fillet. I've had better sushi at the main train station. The side dishes are tasteless. Overall, the place doesn't live up to the expectations set by its prices and decor.

The service was absolutely amazing. They did well woth our group and made recommendations based on what we were thinking about. The sushi was absolutely delicious and I'd happily eat it again. The steaks we ordered for main felt a bit of a let down for the price. The cook on them perfect but it lacked something that would've made it worth it.

We had an all-around fantastic evening at east Restaurant Hamburg. The ambiance is upscale, modern, artistically designed, and with the special flair of the vaulted cellar – perfectly matching the style of the restaurant. The culinary experience was an absolute highlight: For starters, we had bread and butter, a sushi variation (salmon topping roll, white chicken roll, east green roll), Korean dumplings with mushrooms, vegetables, and spicy teriyaki sauce, as well as beef tartare with chives, shallots, and house marinade. Everything was fresh, creative, and delicious. The main course was particularly impressive: the Rubia Gallega beef fillet (200g) with mashed potatoes, chive pesto, green asparagus, snow peas, and pepper cream sauce – the steak was cooked to perfection, even though we were there with a very large group. The whole thing was complemented by garlic shrimp with tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil. To finish, we had East Chocolate Fudge with creamy chocolate cake, vanilla ice cream, and strawberry compote – a fitting end to a top-notch meal. The service was excellent: our server introduced himself and was extremely attentive and courteous throughout the evening. All in all: first-class quality, a stylish ambiance, and service that left nothing to be desired. Highly recommended!

Really delicious food and good non-alcoholic cocktails. There were a lot of people so we waited quite a long time for the food, but the waiter was there to explain why and everything was handled really well. Delicious sushi and had it delivered in a very nice way.

Expensive, but quite good. The rooms were unusual, ours was a loft, and the overall hotel amenities were unusual. The food was unusual, but a few more standard items on the menu would have been nice. The breakfast was okay, but at €30, I felt a few things were missing. Service? Yes, they know what they're doing and were very friendly even after midnight when I asked for a second duvet. The loft was pleasantly large. GREAT view to the north and 95% clean. The lighting was too dim for us. It lacked a sense of light. And for my wife, the dark mirror was unusable, and the vanity area was too dark for her. A matter of taste, of course. The TV in the room was okay, but the sound was terrible. Great beds and a fantastic view of the stars to fall asleep to. Would do it again.

Their price is exaggerated, especially the chicken sizzling, but the taste is great, but every time it has a different flavor.

Yesterday, we were part of a small group of men at the East Restaurant. We had reserved a table by phone, everything went smoothly, and we were very kindly escorted to our table. The waitress who served us was very friendly and handled everything with great skill and to our complete satisfaction. Our main focus was sushi, and the rolls we selected were of excellent quality and tasted absolutely wonderful. I would personally call it the best sushi in Hamburg. The venue itself is outstanding and has a timeless design, and for 20 years, it has rightfully remained a very popular spot in the Hanseatic city. Thank you for the wonderful culinary evening, we'll be back!!! 🙂

Wer Wert auf Ambiente und Design legt, der ist hier im East Restaurant absolut richtig! Leider ist die Speisekarte dafür relativ übersichtlich. Selbst der Sushi Liebhaber kommt hier nicht richtig auf seine Kosten. Es sei denn Sie wählen das angepriesene Überraschungsmenü. Wenn Sie individuell Ihr eigenes Menü zusammenstellen möchten, wird es schwierig, da nur Sashimi und Sushi Rolls in der Karte enthalten sind? Sollten Sie dann besser auf ein gutes Steak ausweichen wollen, werden Sie leider auch nicht belohnt. Da die Qualität leider nicht dem Preisniveau entspricht! Auf meinen Hinweis an die Bedienung , das ca. ein Drittel des servierten Ribeye Steak zäh und nicht essbar war, wurde grosszügig mit 2 Gratis Espresso reagiert ?! Noch ein Hinweis an alle Barzahler; hier ist Barzahlung nicht erwünscht und wird sogar abgelehnt! Wenn Sie dann mit Ihrer Karte zahlen dürfen, wird Ihnen ähnlich wie in den USA ein Trinkgeld in Höhe von 10% , 15% oder 20% vorgeschlagen ! Bitte beachten Sie daher die Variante 4 „ Trinkgeld individuell“ ! Ich wünsche allen Gästen viel Spass im East - Hamburg !

Ich kenne das EAST seit Eröffnung und wollte nach längerer Zeit meiner neuen Beziehung etwas Besonderes bieten. Kurz: Es war enttäuschend! Die Zimmer sind in all den Jahren nicht maßgeblich renoviert worden, und das lobgepreiste Restaurant war eine zu laute, zu teure, zu schlechte Veranstaltung. Wir haben trotz Reservierung 3 Wochen zuvor ewig an einem schlechten Tisch auf den (sehr netten) Service gewartet. Die Vorspeise war so lala, zu teuer (siehe Fotos - fast 30 Euro dafür?). Nach zweieinhalb Stunden Warten auf unsere kleine Sushi-Platte waren wir so weit, eine Currywurst auf dem Kiez zu suchen. Wir wurden beschwichtigt und eingeladen. Das war nett. Aber unsere Stimmung war dahin. Es hat auch nicht herausragend geschmeckt.

Mika and Falco, as waiters, round out the amazing selection of food and drinks. We have rarely been given such courteous and excellent advice and service. Please maintain this level; we'll be happy to return again and again.

Whenever I go to a theater or concert on the Reeperbahn, the East Restaurant is my first stop.

The food is overpriced! Portion of bread with simple butter 6 euros. The slices of bread are not even whole slices and there are 3 of them. The staff tried to use the story to sell the sushi variation as high quality, but in reality it was nothing! Ambience great, but not for the price! It was also significantly emptier than in previous years.

We had the great pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant and it was truly an experience we will not soon forget. The food was absolutely excellent - every dish was tasty, lovingly prepared and of high quality. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is made with fresh ingredients and a lot of passion. We were also very impressed by the ambience. The restaurant is located in a charming, basement-like building with a special atmosphere - cozy, stylish and yet casual. The combination of rustic elements and tasteful furnishings creates a warm, inviting atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. Admittedly, the prices are a little above average, but the quality of the food, service and overall experience completely justify it. Anyone who values ​​a special culinary experience has come to the right place. We will definitely come back and can fully recommend this restaurant!

If I could, I would like to give even more stars. We had a cocktail upstairs in the bar and were able to enjoy the view of the restaurant from there. The service is impressive - you get a card with the name of the waiter in charge - and yes, he was always there for you. The ambience is super nice, you sit super comfortably - everything is just right. Since I didn't know what I was doing, I simply let my friends surprise me with the order. It was perfect - the plate language was a dream and first of all the food - the taste was a culinary delight - everything was perfect. Then the dessert - it couldn't be better. We had the spaghetti ice cream which was prepared at the table - I've never experienced anything like it - it was really great. Yes, everything has its price - but here I would say it's justified and I know I haven't only been here once - I'll definitely be back and I'm already looking forward to it. Thank you for the fact that service and love for what you do are lived here.

Very chic and attractive atmosphere. More for the upper class, which is reflected in the ambience, the reception and the prices. Stayed in the bar area as we hadn't made a reservation. The sushi is anything but standard, worth experimenting with as it was outstanding. There is a small point deduction for service. We were screened and had to wait a long time until we could place our order (drinks and food). We would have liked to order a second course, but after a long wait we decided to pay the bill. As a little feedback: a person's appearance says nothing about them, not everyone has to to show a pretentious appearance in order to represent something. Kind regards from Switzerland.

Went for a monday night dinner with friends. Nice upper mid restaurant, what you would expect from decor and feeling. Menu covered all of the bases well and was not just focused on sushi. Waiter staff all cool and know their jobs. It’s at this point that there should be a 4th criteria. The kitchen. How can a good place be demoted, the kitchen. Dinner was very slow sat at 8 pm and the main course came at 9.47pm. So slow, and it’s not the fault of the restaurant staff, so a fair score. Google please evolve.

The ambience of the restaurant is great. I think the walls, the columns, the high windows are great. The service was very nice and polite. At the end we wanted to have something to drink, but unfortunately it took too long for us to take the order, so we decided to pay. Card payment only. I found the spaghetti ice cream very tasty, really good vanilla ice cream. Personally, I prefer the sauce without pieces, but it didn't detract from the taste.

Schönes Restaurant mangelhaftes Essen. Wir hatten Sushi und die Crispy Prawns zum starten. Die Sushi war nicht schlecht und die Crispy Prawn waren lecker. Zum Hauptgang haben wir den Chateaubriand geteilt. Diese würde fast well done serviert was eine sehr grosse Enttäuschung war. Als wir denn Kellner darauf angesprochen hat, hat er gesagt das es wegen den 800 Grad ofen ist. Meine Meinung geht das gar nicht. Als Beilage hatten wir den Trüffel Pommes und den Kartoffelstock. Die Pommes waren leider mit Trüffelöl gemacht und haben gar nicht gut geschmeckt. Die Kartoffelstock war nicht viel besser. Zu viel Salz und sehr viel Öl Für 190 Euro war das sehr schade

Unfortunately it was a terrible evening, even though we didn't go out and wanted to eat in our hotel. Things were forgotten, drinks were delivered incorrectly, we had to wait far too long even though the restaurant was empty and completely over-salted mashed potatoes were served. We complained but no one was interested. Can recommend the hotel but definitely not the restaurant. There were two of us and the shed was empty! There is no excuse for that. Especially not when it comes to the prices!

I went to the restaurant with my wife for dinner on the occasion of my birthday. We were seated at a table at the open counter where it was cold and drafty. The food was OK but not something that I would say I would come again. The ambience itself was nice. The service was unsympathetic and uninterested in the guest. All in all, I wouldn't go to the restaurant again. After dinner we went back to the hotel bar where I had a cappuccino and my wife had a margarita. In order to pay for the drinks, after several attempts to get the waiter's attention, I had to go to the counter and let her know. Apparently you don't have to pay attention to all guests. All in all, it wasn't what I personally imagined in this price range.

Our visit to East Restaurant was a thoroughly positive experience. The service was friendly and competent with all the staff we had contact with. The atmosphere in the restaurant was inviting and exclusive, which created a perfect setting for a pleasant evening. The main course fully met our expectations and was exactly as it should be - well prepared and tasty. We chose the wine in collaboration with the waiter and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The wine complimented the food perfectly and the waiters were attentive that our glasses never ran out. However, the reason we don't give 5 stars is the bread we were served as a starter. It was boring and lacked character, which dragged down the overall impression a bit. All in all it was a very satisfying experience and we will definitely consider visiting East Restaurant again.

There was a table reserved today at 5 p.m And I have to say, not a reasonable service, too expensive when it comes to some products. Steak €52 without a side dish, so I ate better products with a side dish and a sushi platter for just under €60 wasn't what I would call awesome, you won't get full. But it tasted delicious. What annoyed me was that the waiter didn't ask, everything was fine, they wanted something else. I constantly had to ask for the menu and reorder and didn't clear the table. Or would you like to have dessert? Honestly, I didn't feel like eating there anymore. Then I went to McDonald's and got my dessert there because it was too stupid for me. Reluctantly tipped 10%. Oh, even hotter, I had to pay my parking card 8€, ate over 200€ and have to pay the parking card?? Usually she will but invalidated well the fact is I won't eat there anymore. The waiter got a tip and then I didn't see him again, no thanks or a nice evening, happy birthday, you'll be back soon or nothing, so people, that was my experience today, I think it's a shame, I was happy to go out to eat there with my family and then such a catastrophe when it comes to service.

Es wurde als eines der besten Sushi-Restaurants Hamburgs im Netz angepriesen und war angeblich mal mit einem Michelin Stern ausgezeichnet.Ich fand das Sushi überkreiert und "pomadig", durchschnittlich bis naja...Einmal und nie wieder. Die Bedienung ist allerdings überdurchschnittlich freundlich und angenehm. Ansonsten für Sushi nicht zu empfehlen.

Pommes leider nicht knusprig, das Fleisch ist ok. Sushi als Hauptgang auch ok aber nichts besonderes. Das Sashimi leider viel zu kalt, daher kann sich der Geschmack nicht entfalten. In Summe gibt’s bessere Möglichkeiten in dieser Preisklasse.

Very great sushi creations. We tried different things in our group. All were very good. Ambience is very very nice. Service was top for us. Very attentive and responded to many special requests. Definitely not the cheapest sushi, but worth the price.

There were four of us there and we really enjoyed the experience. The service was super friendly and made him enjoy his job. He was very helpful and gave us Asia newcomers advice and support. The appetizer we chose was our first sushi experience and it was great. For the main course we switched back to meat. Excellent quality is offered in this house! Our dining experience was somewhat marred by the fact that the side dishes arrived at the table rather lukewarm and the fillets were not medium but rather rare. Our opinion is that if such prices are quoted that are completely acceptable for the quality, the kitchen must also be able to prepare the meat according to the guests' wishes. People actively ask how the guest would like the meat. It would also be desirable to have the food hot, as it is actually quite cool in the thick walls. For our personal opinion, the tables are a little too close together and privacy is lost. It's also not pleasant when the service staff bumps into the chair every time they walk past because it's so narrow. All in all we really enjoyed the evening and we will come back.

We weren't taken seriously, I don't even want to repeat the comments to my wife here. Disaster! Making fun of the completely exorbitant prices and turning your back on them was the last straw. There are significantly better addresses in Hamburg. No recommendation!

Gehobenes Ambiente, sehr gutes Essen, sehr freundlicher und kompetenter Kellner der sich persönlich vorstellte um uns an diesem Abend zu begleiten. Die Sushivariationen aber auch die „normale“ Karte waren hervorragend. Die Cocktails sind sehr speziell mit überraschenden Kreationen und sehr lecker. Wir hatten einen entspannten Abend.

Massively overpriced for what it is. I think my problem stems from the service point of view to begin with. Came alone as I’m on a business trip. Falko (my waiter) assumed I’m not alone and brought 2 menus. I ordered a steak and I said “medium rare” to which he said “medium -well”? I said no, I want it medium rare…you know pink in the middle. “Oh no, he says… it will be bloody in the middle , not pink” (why did I let him keep talking?!) I said fine, medium then. Off he went…10 minutes pass, a couple sit next to me. They get their drinks… they get their starters. I’m now thinking it’s been over 30minutes… I’m asking a different waiter to check on my order. He does, says it’s coming, then my waiter turns up with my food another 10min later says the kitchen apologise for delay. My steak doesn’t look anything like a sirloin, it’s too thick. Not only that- it’s definitely Medium, not medium rare. Pink…sure but only just. I don’t complain (I did say medium , stupid me). I have to ask for the drinks menu again, but at €20 a gin cocktail I say “no thank you” on a second drink. No water offered, I finish my small glass of wine and shortly after ask for the bill. He doesn’t even leave my side to print one off, just takes his phone out of his pocket and sets it in front of me (all in German) but I figure 10% 20% etc for the tip and some other German words. I say “what does it mean, I don’t understand it” he says “how much tip do you want to leave”? I’m thinking … really? After that service? Now before you raise hell , in Europe they get a decent wage and tips are voluntary and not expected. I say “no tip”. He even repeats in indignation and even huffs like I stole his bike “No tip?!!!” I say no. So I pay, he takes the device and literally turns his back and walks away without a single word. I said to myself “And That is why you don’t get a tip!” Rude and entitled behaviour. I then called back to him and asked for a copy. He came with it, but Neah. He didn’t listen to what I wanted, had to ask him for everything including over 30 min wait for 1 simple dish. He only tended to bigger tables. So no, as a waitress myself I know a good service and that wasn’t it. I won’t be staying here again. I won’t be eating here again. With my employer I get to chose hotels. I think next time I will go to Empire hotel or Radisson. Much better food and service. And to think I was going to make it a personal trip and stay here with my family too.

The ambience is really great and the food is unfortunately a flop. The tartare tasted almost exclusively of mustard, the truffle fries were lukewarm and the fillet was well done. Not recommended. I won't eat here again... Pretty bad with a bill of a whopping 130 euros...

Great atmosphere, not exactly cheap in terms of price. Fillet steak was good, but I've had better ones. I didn't eat sushi myself but it was said to be very good. Service also very good. Good address in Hamburg, can be recommended.

East Hamburg is a beautiful restaurant with a stylish interior and an incredible atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing, everything was impeccably prepared and tasted fantastic. Full compliments to the kitchen! However, I can’t give 5 stars, and the reason lies with the hostess at the door. Upon arrival, we were told that we would only have an hour and a half to dine. This felt unwelcoming, especially since there was plenty of space, and we ended up staying for three hours without anyone saying a word about it. In a restaurant of this caliber, you don’t expect to feel rushed. It sets the wrong tone and detracts from the otherwise wonderful experience East Hamburg offers. In summary: a fantastic venue with outstanding food, but the greeting at the door unfortunately diminished the overall experience.

Food, ambience and drinks are good. Price-performance is better in Hamburg. And €30 parking fees despite eating €400 are just a bit embarrassing. With the obscene margins on everything that is offered there, it is simply a bit stylish and unskillful to exclude guests even when parking.

On the one hand, we were “sold” a tomahawk steak that was far too large and half of it was still almost raw and then, as the icing on the cake, the bread and herb butter were charged extra. After all, you should pay first and then receive the invoice. Unfortunately, you have to look at the menu and the prices first before following the waiter's recommendation and ordering.

Yesterday we had dinner at East again after a long time. The quality and taste of the food was good, but pretty bland overall. We didn't get a greeting from the kitchen, which is usually a given when it comes to this price range, and nothing in advance. The starters came with a delay, the cutlery came after the meal. The service was a disaster! We constantly had to call the waiter. No drink service, the plates were left lying around until we paid. No question about dessert or a second bottle of wine. Then this music, after 10 p.m. you could hardly have a conversation. Upscale prostitutes at the bar who then disappeared with guys. Too bad East. You really used to be a great shop. The crowning glory: 35 euros in a parking garage for 3 hours of dinner.

Always a hit with taste. East stop. We actually wanted to go somewhere else until 10 minutes before the other very high-quality restaurant nearby had to cancel due to a power outage. As a precautionary measure, we were actively rebooked into the “East Restaurant”. The house - where, in addition to cozy dining and enjoyment in small groups, large events and Christmas parties can also be held - is already special. The vaulted cellar with the old “casemates” impresses with its rusticity, cosiness and modernity. The service staff is very attentive. we never had to wait long. A discreet, friendly and unobtrusive service flow. Starter and fillets with side dishes were on point. The baby broccoli was so dente and I couldn't have done better with the truffle home made fries. At the end, a blast was the fresh spaghetti ice cream made on site with side dishes and, for chocolate lovers, the chocolate tart. Very well sorted in terms of wine, there are also sophisticated open wines. Espresso Macchiato was the icing on the cake on what was already a very successful evening. Let's Go East again.

Der immer freundliche, der immer charmante, der immer aufmerksame Jerome hat nach der Tischzuweisung das Zepter in die Hand genommen und es wurde sämtliche Sinne voll ausgereizt 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩geil das noch so tolle Servicekräfte gibt, Bravo und Danke für diesen schönen Abend, herzlichst ❤️

East restaurant is NOT worth the detour. In my recent stay at the East hotel I decided to experience their restaurant. I have to say it left me thoroughly unimpressed, especially with the sushi. I had heard reasonable things about the place, but my expectations crumbled with the first bite. To start with, the Gamba sushi was simply a disgrace. A prawn dish priced at €20 for eight rather modest pieces, perhaps would compensate through taste and quality, yet it did neither. As I bit into it, I was met with a cold, soggy prawn that lacked any trace of the expected crispiness or warmth. For a moment, I wondered if it was intended to be served this way, so I asked the waiter. He informed me it should indeed be warm and crispy and promised to convey my feedback to the kitchen. Moments later, he returned with an almost laughable response: the kitchen was closed. So, with my first bite being a letdown, I was offered nothing but an apology and, shockingly, a suggestion of a free coffee as consolation. For a dish at this price point, this felt like an insulting gesture, missing the mark entirely. I wanted my dish prepared correctly, not a pity coffee that couldn’t possibly redeem a botched meal. Moving on, the tuna jalapeño roll was barely any better. There was almost no distinct flavor; I found myself relying on soy sauce and wasabi just to make it palatable. For €23, I expect some craft and flavour, well… it lacked both… again!!! All in all, restaurant missed the mark on quality, taste, and service. I can overlook minor faults here and there, but when a restaurant fails so comprehensively on both food and the handling of feedback, it’s hard to justify giving it another chance.

Very disappointing! I took five guests out to dinner at East for my birthday. Everyone should have a good time. The bill was accordingly over €1000. Even though we ordered the most expensive dishes on the menu, all of the guests had something to complain about. My fillet was well done and was tough. I ordered a medium fillet. The piece of meat costs €49, with side dishes to be paid additionally. For the price range I expect a significantly different quality of meat. The sushi variations as the main course were drowned out by the cheap salmon. You could hardly find a more valuable purchase here either. The side dishes, such as the expected fresh wild broccoli, were soaked in fatty peanut sauce. without any description on the map. The chocolate cake for €18 was a ready-made product from the freezer. Purchase price €1.60. The vanilla ice cream from the spaghetti ice cream has no aroma in the taste. The service was attentive and tried hard. But of course none of the guests wanted to dampen the mood with criticism. So everyone politely ate what was on the table. More or less. As a very experienced hostess and cook, I found the price-performance ratio shockingly cheeky. You can only afford something like that in Hamburg and apparently in the East. The building is of course great. Nice ambience. Unfortunately, our table was so big and the room was so loud that conversation was only possible with the person immediately next to us. Also very unfortunate. And at least a tea light on the table would have been nice even if it wasn't a birthday.

The food is a bit expensive (small portions), but it's okay for not every weekend. The food tastes wonderful and is perfectly presented to the eye! The ambience is really amazing, fantastic (only the music is TOO LOUD for good conversations). The service is very accommodating, very friendly...great! “Our” Falco was an angel! Thanks!

Great food. Very nice location. The prices are not cheap but I think they are justified considering the quality. The combination of sushi and steak at a high level is really fun. The proximity to the neighborhood also has a certain charm. And a great date location.

Sensational!!! Everything was fantastic, the ambience, the vegetarian sushi and the wine! But all of this also has its price!

We had a wonderful evening on Saturday thanks to FALCO, the sushi and the baked eggplant were delicious and of the finest quality with very special flavors. His friendly, attentive service rounded off the evening. Many thanks again from Lisa & Lisa :-)

The sushi and wine were excellent. Unfortunately the bread for the starter was very dry, so we left most of it back. In addition, a dish was delivered incorrectly several times and there was a long hair in the dessert. The hair thing can happen but unfortunately there was no accommodation from the restaurant.

Everything was just right on our team event evening. Our waiter Jerome was incredibly attentive, funny, quick-witted and very knowledgeable in his activities. The food (sushi, sirloin, ribeye, etc) was perfect, the wine (Sancerre) was ideally chilled and the spaghetti ice cream prepared at the table was the icing on a great evening.

Today we decided to go out to enjoy some tasty sushi. East was our restaurant of choice. It is a beautiful Building. The sushi was great, but not above the competition. The service was friendly, but sadly it took more than 10 minutes to bring us our drinks and the sushi took even longer. It was slightly busy, but waitstaff was available and standing around with nothing to do. Drinks should take a maximum of 5 minutes to come to the table and at an upper class restaurant they should serve a little appetiser if the food takes longer than 15 minutes to arrive. It’s good if you like to wait, but the food doesn’t justify it sadly.

We were a group of six people and had a fantastic evening in East Hamburg. From the aperitif to the starter variation to the main course, everything was lovingly prepared and tasted great. I would like to give extra praise for the service. I have rarely experienced such an attentive and friendly waiter as Mika. Big thank you for that!

The East used to be a great address... The menu has shrunk extremely and the portions should definitely include a curry sausage on the Reeperbahn! Where you used to order a sushi boat as your main course, today you get two (unfortunately very measly) sushi rolls, some salmon and tuna - for a whopping €57! Yes, the location is unique and the staff is very good - but the prices are disproportionate. A portion of edamame for €13?!? This is frozen goods that are cooked for 3 minutes and sprinkled with coarse salt. So, exactly the right thing for the Bussi Bussi society. But that is also the target group of East Hamburg.

Excellent restaurant with excellent food, especially the sushi variations are highly recommended here. The waiters are extremely warm and always on hand. The location itself is difficult to describe in words or pictures; you have to experience these rooms yourself. Totally beautiful and extremely spacious rooms.

I've never had better sushi anywhere! And I look forward to this sushi every time I have the opportunity to visit Hamburg. On my last visit I had beef sashimi recommended and combined it with the sushi & sashimi variation in appetizer size. Enthusiasm has a name: east! A big compliment and thank you to the whole team for the wonderful evening.

Denne gang var jeg blot forbi deres bar for en drink, da jeg boede på et nyt Boutique hotel i Hamburg, der skulle prøves. Som altid venligt og dygtig service. Min ynglingsdrink Old Fashion var ikke på kortet, men det var bestemt ikke et problem. Utrolig serviceminded yngre female.

The East Restaurant in Hamburg offers a stylish ambience and a very good sushi selection. Although the prices in the East Restaurant are a little higher, the service was extremely nice and very, very attentive.

Fantastisk sted! Virkelig flotte, rustikke omgivelser og super hyggelig stemning. Vi fik sushi og den var fremragende. Super søde og kompetente tjener og vi fik den bedste behandling. Gode priser når man tager i betragtning at EAST har en michelin stjerne og vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

Tried out the 3 course summer gourmet menu today. However, this is only available for pre-order and for a limited time. It was really tasty. Starter with sashimi salmon, main course veal, dessert ice cream and yogurt. The ambience is still very nice. The menu is more focused on sushi. Gladly again and excellent service.

A stylish place, you can sit very chic inside and in the courtyard. The portions are large, but they cost a lot, but the quality is good. The service was very friendly and quick, perhaps they could have been a little less salesy, but it wasn't annoying or anything.

Yes, it's actually known for sushi, but we wanted to try something different here. About the cuisine (except sushi): To start there were salmon sashimi rolls with wasabi cream. We found it successful in putting the salmon in the foreground and not dominating it with the cream. Great fish quality! But otherwise nothing special, it lacked a bit of pizzazz. The roast beef was well fried and the cooking level was also right. It was right on the edge in terms of roasted flavors, a tad further and you would have had more of a burnt and bitter taste. The puree and side dishes were decent. Here too, something special was missing. The finale was a lemon sorbet with yoghurt and chocolate crumble... unfortunately it was clearly lacking in sophistication and execution compared to the other two courses. About the service: We had really nice service, there's nothing to complain about. She even brought something to the table for the little one to play with. Unfortunately, the bar was probably very busy so that the aperitif only reached the table after the first course. This shouldn't happen. Overall, the food was good to very good, but you could also wish for a little more sophistication...

Ja, es ist eigentlich für Sushi bekannt, aber wir wollten hier auch mal etwas anderes testen. Zur Küche (Sushi ausgenommen): Zum Start gab es Lachs Sashimi Röllchen mit Wasabi Creme. Wir empfanden es als gelungen den Lachs in den Vordergrund zu stellen und nicht durch die Creme zu dominieren. Tolle Fischqualität! Aber, ansonsten auch nichts besonderes, es fehlte etwas der Pfiff. Das Roastbeef war gut gebraten und auch die Garstufe wurde getroffen. Es war hart an der Grenze in Bezug auf Röstaromen, einen Tick weiter und man hätte eher einen verbrannten und bitteren Geschmack gehabt. Das Püree und die Beilagen waren ordentlich. Auch hier, etwas Besonderes hat gefehlt. Den Abschluss machte ein Zitronensorbet mit Joghurt und Schoko Crumble.... leider fiehl es deutlich in Raffinesse und Ausführung ab im Vergleich zu den anderen beiden Gängen. Zum Service: Wir hatten eine wirklich nette Bedienung, da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Sie hat uns sogar noch etwas zum Spielen für den Kleinen an den Tisch gebracht. Leider war die Bar wohl sehr ausgelastet so dass der Aperitif erst nach dem ersten Gang den Tisch erreichte. Dies sollte nicht passieren. Insgesamt aber gutes bis sehr gutes Essen, bei dem man sich aber auch ruhig mal etwas mehr Raffinesse wünscht ...

Delicious food and excellent service

Ich kannte das Restaurant vor Jahren als recht guten Sushjiladen. Nun ja, das war wohl einmal. Inzwischen - bei unserem letzten Besuch im Mai - war das Essen bestenfalls unteres Mittelmaß, die Preise dafür aber recht gehoben. Delisted.

This restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere. I can't say that I liked all the dishes. For example, the salmon nigiri and sashimi were weathered, with a strange smell, and the steaks were not very tasty. I recommend: fried fish, sashimi meat, shrimp in batter and soup 👌

If you like a asian foods sushi and raw fish. Foods are delicious and tatsy. Smile service and weel designed. I offer to book seat at middle site with open air. We liked the meat.

The East Restaurant is located near Hamburg's Sinful Mile and makes a very fine impression as soon as you enter. We were quickly shown to a table in the “basement”. The restaurant there also made a high-quality impression. The service was very nice and the orders were placed quickly. The flamed salmon for the starter was okay, I would go for the fish with a little more heat, it was more gray than flamed. The American style sushi my wife chose was delicious, the crunch gave the makis that certain something. The lack of a clear distinction between sushi, sashimi and maki when explaining is a bit disappointing, but excusable, as the shop is not a Japanese restaurant. Still, I would have expected that. My Asian noodles were OK, but nothing I would remember. Until then, have a good evening. My wife had the beef fillet as her main course and ordered it medium rare. Unfortunately the meat was delivered completely done. It wasn't a little above the desired doneness but far from it. This cannot be due to a longer waiting time at the pass. This shouldn't happen to a professional. We complained about the meat and the service responded in a highly professional manner, apologized and announced a new piece of meat. Until then, stupid, annoying but okay now. What my wife then got was no longer the several cm high beef fillet that was delivered in the first run, but two narrow, one cm high pieces of meat with the desired degree of doneness. However, it wasn't a fillet, but rather an entrecôte due to the fat content and the fiberiness. Even if it's annoying, you can screw up the cooking level, but then supplying another, cheaper cut as a replacement is not okay. And yes, dear reader, I can very well distinguish the meat as a commercial hired chef. Apparently the restaurant assumes that the standard guest cannot do this. Finally, I ordered three very tasty chocolates for three euros each and an espresso and thought to myself, well, it's definitely on the house. Well, unfortunately that wasn't the case. In conclusion, a charming restaurant with attentive service, but the meat thing is a bit cheeky.

Das East Restaurant liegt in der Nähe der sündigen Meile Hamburgs und macht schon beim Eintreten einen sehr feinen Eindruck. Wir wurden rasch an einen Tisch im "Keller" geführt. Auch dort machte das Restaurant eine hochwertigen Eindruck. Der Service war sehr nett und schnell wurden die Bestellungen aufgegeben. Der geflämmte Lachs zur Vorspeise war in Ordnung, ich würde mit etwas mehr Hitze an den Fisch gehen, er war eher grau als geflämmt. Das Sushi in amerikanischem Stil, das meine Frau wählte war lecker, der Crunsh gab den Makis das gewisse Etwas. Die nicht klare Trennung von Sushi, Sashimi und Maki beim Erklären ist etwas enttäuschend, aber entschuldbar, der Laden ist ja kein japanisches Restaurant. Dennoch hätte ich das erwartet. Meine asiatischen Nudeln waren OK, aber nichts an das ich mich erinnern würde. Bis dahin noch ein guter Abend. Meine Frau hatte als Hauptgericht das Rinderfilet und bestelle es medium rare. Leider wurde das Fleisch komplett Done geliefert. Es war nicht ein wenig über der gewünsche Garstufe sondern weit davon entfernt. Das kann auch nicht an einer längere Wartezeit am Pass liegen. Das darf eine Profi so nicht passieren. Wir reklamierten das Fleisch und der Service hat hoch professionell reagiert, sich entschuldigt und ein neues Stück Fleisch angekündigt. Bis dahin, dumm gelaufen, ärgerlich aber nun gut. Was meine Frau dann bekam, war nicht mehr das im ersten Durchlauf gelieferte mehrere cm hohe Rinderfilet, sondern zwei schmale, ein cm hohe Stücke Fleische mit der gewünschte Garstufe. Das war allerdings kein Filet, sondern mit dem Fettanteil und der Faserigkeit wohl eher ein Entrecôte. Auch wenn es ärgerlich ist, die Garstufe kann man mal verhauen, aber dann als Ersatz eine anderen, günstigeren Cut zu liefern ist nicht in Ordnung. Und ja lieber geneigter Leser, lieber Leserin ich kann das Fleisch als gewerblicher Mietkoch sehr wohl unterscheiden. Scheinbar geht das Restaurant aber davon aus, das der Standardgast das nicht kann. Ich habe zum Abschluß drei sehr leckeren Pralinen zu je drei Euro und einen Espresso bestellt und dachte mir so, na ja, das geht bestimmt aufs Haus. Nun das war leider nicht so. Abschließend, ein bezauberndes Restaurant mit einem bemühten Service, aber die Nummer mit dem Fleisch ist schon frech.

Mooi restaurant, gelukkig hadden wij wel gereserveerd anders waarschijnlijk geen tafel kunnen krijgen. We waren met een grote groep tijdens EK 2024, voorstel van de ober was om diverse gerechten op tafel te zetten ( voor-en hoofdgerecht), hier ook voor gekozen. Groente, sushi, vlees, vis, alles was even smaakvol.
