BLOCK HOUSE Eppendorf in Hamburg

We often go out to eat and have been to various Block House restaurants... But today we were all pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was more than full and reservations could no longer be accepted at short notice. We should just stop by anyway, then we would definitely get a table after a short wait. That's actually how it was. As soon as we were seated, our order was taken. We were prepared for a long wait. But no, the drinks came immediately and the food also came extremely quickly. Despite the stress, the entire staff was extremely friendly, in a great mood and attentive. This makes eating out fun! Many thanks to the entire staff for the great evening!

Normally the Block House is always a good choice, but this visit was unfortunately an exception. The meat wasn't cooked properly which was very disappointing. The restaurant was also not clean and the service was extremely slow. It took a long time before we were even greeted. Overall I didn't feel comfortable, which is a real shame as I've always had positive experiences.

The service was really friendly and the restaurant itself was nice. Unfortunately my meal (cheeseburger with fries) was pretty bland, especially the fries and the meat. But my parents enjoyed their steaks.

The steaks and the service are great and definitely worth the price. The fillet steak is of course the crowning glory and has always been cooked to the (desired) point. I think the idea of ​​keeping the prices the same and making the portions smaller is silly. In my opinion, a 3rd category to "Mr." would be better. And "Mrs." been. If there is anything to complain about at all, it might be that the restaurant is very noisy during rush hour (6-8 p.m.). So if you're planning a quiet evening... better after 8 p.m.

If you like meat/steaks, Block Haus is the perfect place for you

Block House hat einen so großartigen Service Gedanken. Da sollten sich einige Restaurants die sich Fine Dining nennen, eine Riesen Scheibe abschneiden! Vielen Dank!

Unfortunately, rump steak was stringy, and not just for me. I had this experience in another blockhouse some time ago. The meat used to be of better quality. The salad was very tasty. The ambience: loud and hectic! However, I was impressed by the staff, who were super friendly and accommodating despite this extreme situation (by the way, also in the other blockhouse I mentioned above).

Lovely cozy atmosphere with a warm and inviting vibe. I had the steak, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Excellent food and service—highly recommend!

Excellent environment, welcome and service. Excellent pairing with salad with American dressing and grilled meat dish with boiled and refried potatoes with onion and speck.

Wir hatten für eine Familienfeier einen Tisch für 13 Personen reserviert. Vor Ort wurden uns zwei Tische separat für 9 und 4 Personen angeboten. Der „Kompromiss“ zwei Tische für 6 und 7 war keine wirkliche Verbesserung. Das Restaurant ist sehr familienfreundlich, so dass durch die vielen lautstarken und bewegungsfreundlichen Kinder, die Atmosphäre und Lautstärke eher einer Schulmensa glich. Die Kinder können natürlich nichts dafür. Als in den 70er Jahren die Einrichtung der heutigen Block Häuser entwickelt wurde, war damals Akustik noch kein Thema. Heutzutage wären in modernen Räumlichkeiten entsprechende Schalldämmungen- & brecher, Akustikpanellen etc. wirksame Maßnahmen…

Lunch portion was a bit small. Tasty but a bit small.

OK. For a one-time visit. Fast service. Meat was great but side dishes had no taste.

Very good service. Very nice, accommodating and quick. The food was also delicious and the open potato with sour cream was still unbeatable! I think it's actually inexpensive these days. At least there was blockhouse bread and sour cream at no extra charge. Can't say anything. Ambience is a matter of taste. I like it. Everything is like it used to be and is reminiscent of childhood.

Were there at lunchtime. We were assigned a table after 3 minutes of waiting. The food was hot and delicious. Our personal highlight was our service person Mr. Baris. Careful, quick, well-groomed and very friendly. Thank you very much Mr. Baris for the good time in the Block House Restaurant.

Such a warm atmosphere, first-class service… best steaks ever! Since we unfortunately don't have a log cabin in Bremen, we like to take the route here so we can go home happily full!

Very loud in the restaurant, food was distributed incorrectly, 3-4 different people come to serve. Our waitress was new and had forgotten the steak sauce and was then bluffed in front of us by another waitress. Absolute no go for me. We were invited and like to go to the Blockhaus Ahrensburg or Bergedorf, I don't want to go there anymore.

At 2 p.m. lunch was over. They were sirloin steaks, a steakhouse should actually have enough of these. The food was good, the service was nice. The restaurant was extremely crowded and noisy and also had very poor air conditioning.

I ordered a Tomaten-Bruchetta salad, €5.40. Maybe it has a small tomato, a few pieces of onion, something green as a decoration, placed on a piece of toast that was not recent. I had to ask for the dressing. Judge by the photos. It seemed like a scam to me.

Service top, Preise überteuert und für das was man auf dem Teller hat keinesfalls gerechtfertigt!!! Teller teilweise leider nicht sauber es waren so viele Fingerabdrücke zu sehen und er sah fettig aus. Das Essen kommt so schnell , daß einem klar ist , hier ist alles bereits vorbereitet bis auf das Fleisch . Bruschetta gern extra servieren und nicht mit " Gemüse der Saison " das es in der Sauce schwimmt und einfach nur matschig wird. Pommes nichts besonderes,billig, könnte man definitiv eine bessere tiefgefrorene Alternative! einkaufen. Positiv: Service und das das Essen heiß serviert wurde ! Trotz Geburtstag erhielten wir leider keinen Sekt aufs Haus.

I was here at lunchtime on weekdays - it was very crowded, but I still managed to get a seat, even outside on the terrace. The "lunch menu" is very attractively priced (you just have to get it on the right day ;-) and the service was very courteous. I can recommend it

After our new visit we have to revise our first impression. The side salad was noticeably spiced up. The steaks were all excellent. The service and the ambience leave nothing to be desired. We'd love to come back.

I always like to go there every now and then. I don't eat meat anymore, but only because I prefer to eat fish. But it's always very tasty. But my guests enjoy eating the good steaks there. Service is very attentive.

We ate there twice during our vacation. Highly recommended, the food was great! But what mainly motivated us to come back the following day was the super friendly, committed and courteous waiter Baris. He made all of our wishes possible and his dealings with us as well as other customers and especially with our daughter were absolutely exemplary! With him, the Blockhaus Eppendorf has a real gem!

We went for dinner. Highly recommended. There is an extra card for children. But the portions are very large. Perfect. The burgers were very tasty and the steak was really tender and cooked to perfection... And to emphasize: very friendly service. I have a Rib-Eye Mastercut 12oz there. Steak (350g) eaten with herb butter. It was super tasty. The salad with French dressing was also very good. In total I paid €39.80 for steak, salad, fries and a drink. The service staff was very friendly. The food arrived within 10 minutes (Tuesday). Personally, I don't think the great food matches the somewhat outdated ambience, but it's a matter of taste or that's intentional.

Haven't been here for about ten years. somehow everything has shrunk. The bread is half the size it used to be, the baked potatoe has also shrunk and become mini. prices tend to be more expensive. Pity!

Typical Block House Restaurant near the Hoheluftbrücke / Isestrasse. Parking is available on the side of the road if you are looking for something. We had made reservations for a Saturday evening with eight people. The restaurant was full. Nevertheless, the service was nice, friendly, funny and quick. The food was of the usual good Block House quality. However, prices have increased; Rump steak for almost 30 EUR is more than in recent years. Significant deductions have to be made when it comes to the toilets: the trash cans at the sinks were overflowing and used paper towels were lying on the floor. Otherwise everything is very nice.

I found a rusty nail in my salad at lunch today. The waitress said she notified the manager.. She apologised. The manager never came over. We were offered a free container of salt. That’s it.Had I swallowed it I would be in the hospital as I type.

Really delicious. Super good steak. Really garlicky garlic bread. Service was really nice. I found it a bit loud. Almost had to shout at each other to have conversations. There are also birthday celebrations on this day.

When you go to Blockhouse you know what to expect and here your expectations are met perfectly. What was pleasantly surprising to me was that vegetarian dishes are now also offered. Unfortunately no vegetarian burgers yet but at least vegetable dishes and noodles. A reservation makes sense.

I ordered a New York Cheeseburger here. Half a piece of garlic bread came with a meatball on it and cheese on top. A single lettuce leaf between garlic bread and burger patty... That's all! I've eaten a New York cheeseburger all over the world, and no matter which country or restaurant, this burger looked like a cheeseburger. The blockhouse in Hamburg is an exception here. I've never eaten such a bad cheeseburger...! I would have expected a lot of different things in the log cabin. When I asked the service manager about it, I only got the blunt answer that they had been doing it that way since 1968... Here I was once again shown how service shouldn't work. Not at all responsive to the guest, not even to the guest's wishes. Almost a little embarrassing… Germany is a service desert.

Vorab, ich kaufe gerne die Block House Produkte (Kräuterbutter, Saucen, Burger Pattys) und meine Kritik richtet sich nicht an diese Filiale, da die Karte ja für alle Hamburger Restaurants gilt. Wir waren heute zu Dritt hier, meine Begleitungen waren zufrieden, ich habe mich sehr auf den Classic Block Burger gefreut. Ich habe leider nur das Patty samt Beilage bekommen. Die Kellnerin sagte dass "man sowas wissen müsste", ja in der Speisekarte steht es nicht explizit drin aber ehrlich, wer erwartet bei einem Burger in Deutschland kein Brot, Salat, Sauce? Zumal Block House auch Burger Buns im Programm hat. Es sollte besser in der Speisekarte gekennzeichnet bzw. besser noch gleich ins Programm aufgenommen werden. So war ich leider enttäuscht.

Very friendly and polite service. The fillet steak was excellent and was grilled to my liking (medium). It only takes 10 minutes for the food to be served. I can recommend it at any time. Only the parking options on site are severely limited. But Restaurnt can't do anything about that.

Hello, I ordered a menu today that I had picked up until I got home and I noticed that what I ordered had something else in it that I had ordered, so I reported it by phone and then I was told that I would order the next time to which I replied immediately and said that I wasn't interested but that I wanted what I had ordered and then I got a little louder so the order that I wanted was then made. It's a shame that something like that, especially with block pants, has such an untrained team but after that the food was good.

Spontaneously decided to have a steak dinner with a friend. So we went to the restaurant here. We received a very friendly welcome and were given a table even without a reservation. We received the drinks very quickly. The food we ordered came cooked to the desired point - simply great! To my dismay, I received a piece of meat that was pretty much riddled with tendons. The complaint was received openly and in a solution-oriented manner. A big thank you for that. Based on this experience, I can only recommend the restaurant!

Today I ate a Herford ribeye at the Blockhaus Hoheluft and I have to say it was so juicy and delicious and the fries and salad too! When it came to service, I was served by a woman Claudia and she was always friendly and accommodating and you felt very well received and she also asked if you wanted anything else and whether you were satisfied! Yes, I was so happy that I would love to come back! The freshly tapped beer is also very tasty and fresh! Thank you very much dear Blockhaus team😊

Just great! The package is right here. We were more than lucky here on Saturday evening without a reservation. Food was good and the service was just exemplary! Real customer service - others can learn here! Thanks to the BLOCK HOUSE team for an all-round nice meal!

We were here as a couple on Valentine's Day this year and it was really great. The food was great, even though it was super busy, it was very quick and the service was great. Even though the staff had their hands full, they were always attentive and responded to every extra request I made, even if it was a little annoying. I can really only recommend it. Super sweet, competent, delicious, even on a day like this.
