The food offers good value for money. However, this is definitely not the case with drinks.

One star for the service and one for the ambiance. I can't give any stars for the food. It consisted mostly of convenience products. We had burgers with pre-made patties. Absolutely disappointing. The price is completely unjustified. I hope the steaks are any good... we won't be coming back. On a positive note, the service was excellent.

Overall, a pleasant restaurant with mostly good meat and salads. Food prices are reasonable. On nice days, you can sit outside. However, some of the drinks (not all) are overpriced. We've never seen a 0.5l shandy cost €6.50 in other restaurants. The service is inconsistent. Most of the staff are very friendly and relaxed about changes to orders, although these changes aren't upgrades, but rather things like omitting an item or bringing the dressing separately. However, some waiters make a fuss about it every time, explaining that every change has to come with a surcharge, even if it reduces the restaurant's cost of ingredients. So, when looking for a table, we try to see which staff member is working which table.

Joks Steakhouse has been our favorite for 32 years. My son loved their kids' menu. He always had the potatoes with sour cream with his steak. The friendly and attentive staff is a trusted chef, and we trust them.

Great ambiance, really friendly service, and the food...perfect even for my tastes. We always enjoy going to Jok's. Our friends really enjoyed it too. Depending on the seating, clientele, and time of day, the main dining room can get a bit loud, but there are also very quiet spots. It's best to mention this when making a reservation.

Went there for lunch on Monday. I haven't had such delicious meatballs in a long time! The meatballs were very fluffy and the sauce creamy. Our special requests for the food were also accommodated (fries instead of mashed potatoes). As always, we'd be happy to go back!

We were there with a large group (12 people). The service was good and helpful, but they brought out the wrong dish right at the beginning, which was then replaced, but unfortunately still showed up on the bill as unpaid. The waiter then commented on this with the words "I guess that's on me then," which we found a bit irritating. The food itself was average in terms of taste and portion size considering the price; we've had better for the same price. The ambiance was nice and the restaurant well-kept and clean, but it was quite noisy in places. Personally, I wouldn't go back.

A beautiful place, very cozy and atmospheric. The food was quite average. The steak was well-done but tasteless. The potatoes were mushy, the salad was made of simply chopped vegetables, and everything was literally drowned in sour cream and mayonnaise, probably just to make it look like there was a lot. It was okay, but I've had better steaks in worse places for half the price. It was a one-off experience.

We were there yesterday for a quick stop off the highway. The service was prompt and efficient. Our burgers arrived quickly, looked good, and tasted good, too. The price was perfectly reasonable (2 burgers with fries, 2 drinks, and 1 dessert for €49). The only thing that bothered me was the temperature and the noise of the air conditioning. It was so cold that my girlfriend had to wear a jacket. It also hummed like a ship. A bit annoying.

Good, yet down-to-earth cuisine and reasonable prices make this a definite recommendation for the area. The service was attentive and quick. We'd be happy to return.

Unfortunately, I'll never go to Joks again. There were four of us there, and no one came to the table with empty glasses. We stayed until the end and weren't asked if we wanted a second drink. When I asked for the bill, I was shown a QR code and told to print it out myself, which was modern... unbelievable and anything but hospitable...

No, not at all. My meal didn't live up to the price or my expectations. The meat (pork fillet medallions) was incredibly tough, the creamy sauce was watery, and the mushrooms were from a can. The side dish (baked potato and toast) was fine. The salad (€8.70) was okay, perhaps a bit overpriced. When asked if there were homemade desserts, I at least got an honest answer: No, it's all industrially produced and delivered ready-made. My cappuccino was okay, but my friend got an espresso: a sloppy espresso in a much too-large cup... not very appealing. Conclusion: We'll look for another location. At least it was quite busy for a Tuesday evening, so they'll be able to tolerate our absence in the future.

A quaint, cozy location – a true spatial miracle. The clever layout creates an almost intimate ambiance, with rustic furnishings, without a waiting room feel. Our service was attentive without being intrusive – always friendly and absolutely competent when it came to a complaint. We had steak, fish, and a fillet pan... everything was excellent! Unfortunately, one starter (soup) was completely wrong (it can happen!) and was taken back without the usual fuss and not charged (it's actually 4*+ for the food!!). The prices were pleasingly moderate! We'll definitely be back!

It's still asparagus season... Be sure to try it! They serve delicious asparagus with a choice of smoked ham, Wiener Schnitzel, turkey steak, or salmon with hollandaise sauce and tasty potatoes. Add a glass of Pinot Gris, what more could you want...😊 Finally, the dessert "Summer Dream": vanilla ice cream with strawberries 🍓, strawberry mousse, and whipped cream...👌🏻

The last time we were there, my partner ordered a medium-well steak. It arrived very rare. When we noticed this, we pointed it out and asked for it to be cooked again. We overheard the kitchen say that if he put it back on the plate, it would be cooked through. The end of the story is that we got the meat back with it still very pink inside, and I had to eat it because we were fed up with it. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back after this disappointment.

Service: top-notch Food: okay Roast pork with a crackling that didn't have a firm crust. A blob of sauce. Unsalted, overly firm potatoes. Steak plate was similar. A blob of sauce, and the beef wasn't chewable. We'd give this place another chance, though. Maybe it was a coincidence.

Super delicious steakhouse! The food was consistently fresh and of high quality. But my absolute highlight was the dessert: the Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake! A dream! Please, please definitely leave this cake on your menu. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates a great steak and an exceptional dessert.

The waiter was outrageously rude and we all had stomach ache after eating. This has never happened to us before...It's a real shame because the atmosphere is actually pleasant. We prefer a different restaurant next time.

I'm amazed, my previous review has been deleted. We used to love going to Jock Steakhouse. Once we had a lunch table where the meat was so bad that it was almost impossible to tear. We had complained and I heard whispers between the waiters that we hadn't been the first today. It wasn't addressed that we didn't finish the meat and we complained. A little Gudi would have been nice, but just saying. I'll pass it on to the kitchen, it's not enough. We've never gone back in there since.

Unfortunately, the schnitzel tasted of nothing and was obviously a ready-made product from the freezer. It has absolutely nothing to do with a Wiener Schnitzel. When ordering, they didn't ask what portion size I wanted, and of course, they just served me the large portion. The side dish was a lackluster portion of fries without salad. The menu only listed "beer on tap." When I asked, I was told they probably had Jever and Radeberger. Whether that's actually the case is questionable. Normally, such beer brands are already listed on the menu. That was a waste of money - never again!

Lovingly furnished country house style restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere. We've been coming here for years and always feel comfortable, even when it's full. The food is always prepared to perfection: *Steaks according to requested cooking levels * Requests for changes to supplements are no problem * Extra sauces are provided automatically but can also be added immediately upon request The staff is super friendly and accommodating from the moment you enter the house and there is no waiting time until you are shown to a table, someone is there immediately. The waiters are always in a good mood and are happy to have a joke with regular guests. The menu is quite large and varied, and the portions are so large that even the hungriest person will be full. I've never had a dish that didn't taste good. Dogs are allowed here and water is immediately offered for them. In short: I have been a regular guest for years, always extremely satisfied and can recommend a visit to anyone who would like to enjoy good meat with plenty of side dishes.

A really good steakhouse, also for vegetarian dishes. We have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The employees are all super friendly and the food is always delicious. As a starter we can especially recommend the carpaccio and the soups. Steak as a main course is of course a classic and the salads with goat cheese, for example, are also great. Recommended. :)

The Joks Steakhouse is located in the middle of Schnelsen in the Bornkast Hof on Frohmestr. The food and especially the steaks are excellent, perfectly prepared and very tender. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. The prices are fair. Toilets are clean and tidy. The parking situation is a bit tense: there is some on site, but many belong to surrounding shops and parking is limited to 90 minutes. Then it almost makes more sense to park in the surrounding parking bays. On our last visit we had made a reservation for 5 people about 2 weeks before, but then got a table in a small corner next to the door, which was a bit tight. But the problem was that when the temperatures outside were below zero, it always drafted when guests walked through the door. It was very unpleasant that you were seated so unpleasantly despite making a reservation in good time. Hopefully it will work better next time.

Are extremely disappointed. The fact that reservations are limited to two hours at Christmas is understandable and understandable, but then I find it difficult to wait an hour of that for the food. The main courses were cold and probably convenience, so not worth it. We also got free heartburn all day long. When ordering dessert, the staff became uncomfortable and very stressed. It got to the point where sometimes the dessert couldn't be eaten because we had to clear the table IMMEDIATELY because the next guests were waiting. This means that the dessert that had to be paid for in full could not be eaten because the timing was not right.

Unfortunately the fillet pan tasted pretty bad. The mushrooms etc. were very poorly prepared. The fries with the burger were the fries you also know from McDonald's. Small and bland in taste. For the burger itself there were these 20 gram or however much ketchup and mayo sachets that you could tear open yourself. I think that's a no-go in a restaurant and also pretty stingy. Otherwise I had a Virgin Colada, which tasted quite sour like pineapple. Also something you can't taste. I'm guessing a large amount of cheap canned pineapple juice. Contrary to what is advertised, the focus here is not on the highest quality, but rather on preparing inexpensive ingredients at low cost.

Christmas dinner from work today. I had bruschetta as a starter. For the main course there was the fillet pan and as dessert “Mama's Apple Crumble”. Everything tasted very tasty. Unfortunately the shift was already at 11 p.m. Because the restaurant then closes. There would certainly have been one or two drinks in there. All in all, a nice evening with colleagues.

Guten Tag, Um im Kreise meiner Familie meinen 70en Geburtstag zu begehen, reservierte ich im JOKS Anfang November für 7 -8 Personen für den 10.11.2024 15:00 Uhr Tisch Nr.12 (am Fenster). Für eine Rücksprache hinterließ ich meine Kontaktdaten. (Ich bin langjähriger Gast seit 1997 für regelmäßigen Mittagstisch und diversen Familienfeiern) Am 10.11. betrat ich um 14:30 rechtzeitig das Restaurant um Sektempfang und Vorspeisen abzusprechen. Mit Erstaunen stellte ich fest, dass der von mir reserviertem Tisch belegt war. Des Weiteren war ein sehr enger „Katzentisch“ zwischen Salatbar und “Wochenblattablage“ durch zusammenstellen von 3 Zweiertischen lieblos eingedeckt. Meine Reklamation beim „Maître de jour“ (er hat sich nicht vorgestellt) wurde mit der Begründung weggebügelt: Ich muss die Tische vollkriegen. Andere haben auch reserviert. Für mich enthält das Wort Gastronomie das Substantiv Gast. Offensichtlich werden jetzt Gäste nur noch als Umsatzbringer definiert. Mein „Ansprechpartner“ verzog sich dann in die Küche und wartete böse durch das Bullauge dreinschauend auf meine Reaktion. Ich entschloss mich zum spontanen Lokalwechsel in dem Wir (inzwischen 8 Personen) an einem netten Tisch freundlichst bedient wurden. Allerdings hat bei mir das Verhalten des JOKS Managements ein bitteres „Geschmäckle“ hinterlassen. Freundliche Grüße

Seit 23 Jahren kommen wir regelmäßig zum Essen, war immer sonst alles Tip top. doch diesmal : Gänsekeule keine knusper Haut, Fleisch trocken, dunkel,Knödel vom Vortag ,im Wasser kurz erhitzt, Rotkohl kein Geschmack. Als Entschädigung Milchkaffee der mehr Milch als Expresso enthielt , 2 Baileys 😳😳und wir waren zu 5. pro Essen nur für die Gänsekeule 25,90€ war ihr Geld leider nicht wert. Reagieren auch nicht auf Mails die man schreibt. Sehr enttäuschend. Sollte nachträgliche Geburtstagsfeier sein schade.

Mit Freunden hatten wir uns hier zum Weihnachtsessen getroffen. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht und wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert. Der Empfang war freundlich und die Getränke wurden prompt aufgenommen. Wir wählten alle von der Weihnachtskarte. Deftiges Grühnkohl mit Kochwurst und Kaßler und Gänsekeule mit Rotkohl wurde geordert. Alle Gerichte waren geschmacklich tadellos. Die Gänsekeule war auch schön zart. Alles sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Die Küche hat es drauf. Trotz der Masse kam alles heiß und gleichzeitig an den Tisch. Service war ebenfalls top. Der Abend war für alle sehr schön.

My email that wasn't answered within a week. Good day, To celebrate my 70th birthday with my family, I made a reservation at JOKS At the beginning of November for 7-8 people for November 10th, 2024 3:00 p.m. Table No. 12 (at the window). I left my contact details so I could contact you. (I have been a long-time guest since 1997 for regular lunches and various family celebrations) On November 10th I entered the restaurant at 2:30 p.m. in time to arrange a champagne reception and appetizers. I was surprised to see that the table I had reserved was occupied. Furthermore, a very narrow “cat table” between the salad bar and the “weekly paper shelf” was carelessly set by putting together 3 tables for two. My complaint to the “Maître de jour” (he didn’t introduce himself) was brushed aside with the reason: I have to fill the tables. Others have also made reservations. For me, the word gastronomy contains the noun guest. Apparently guests are now only defined as revenue generators. My “contact person” then retreated into the kitchen and waited for my reaction, looking angry through the porthole. I decided to spontaneously change the restaurant where we (now 8 people) were served in a friendly manner at a nice table. Suppe versalzen. Der Kellner „komisch das ist die erste Beschwerde. Die Suope ist von der Zentrale so vorgegeben. Die Suppe eine Kürbis Süsskartoffelsuppe. Geschmacklich eher ein Suppenbrühwürfel. Danach keine Getränke oder Speisenabräumung. Rechnung nur auf Aufforderung. Suppe natürlich auf der Rechnung obwohl nicht gegessen. Nicht empfehlenswert.

The food was good, but the bacon in the burger was hard as concrete and the tomato was overripe. I find the seats too narrow... We said we were coming with a stroller and it had to stand in the middle of the aisle the whole time... because we forgot😃
