Very nice block house with friendly service. Our first choice if you want something to eat after shopping in Wandsbek. The service is great and very friendly and helpful. —- A constructive criticism that applies to most German restaurants. We eat here almost every week and not for a small amount of money, sometimes as a group of two, sometimes as a group of four. If you then order a Helbing or another nightcap, why is it filled exactly to the limit? The bottle is already paid for with one round! At Greek, Italian and Chinese you can even get a nightcap for free. I find that really sad/stingy.

As always everything is fine. Food, service and ambience. Gladly again. See you next time.

Attentive During my last visit, I particularly noticed how attentive the service staff was. Apparently we looked at it when we wanted drinks. As soon as we thought about it, we were asked if we wanted something. Of course, any special requests were taken into account and our wishes were also implemented. All the service staff we came into contact with were really very friendly. Not to forget that the food was really delicious and makes you want to visit again soon.

Successful evening!! Went to dinner at the Block House in a small group on the way. The service staff is friendly and very attentive. We had three different dishes (rib eye Mastercut, American tenderloin and the skipping steak) all dishes were fried to perfection and tasted great terrific. Should we visit Hamburg again? This would be a place we would visit again.

Reliably good. I've been here several times and it's always been great. The staff is on their toes and I have never experienced anyone being unfriendly there. The food is always good. I recommend making a reservation. Update 09_2024: Consistently great quality of food. Service was simply great again today. I think it's good value for money, even if it's a little squeaky in my wallet when I have a really great steak.

Unfortunately, loveless. The sirloin steak was good, but just under €19 for a mini piece with sticky fries and nothing else (okay a piece of garlic bread) is really bad. No side salad or at least a cucumber or tomato slice would have made it a little more attractive. My friend's HackBurger wasn't good either. Definitely not a bio hack. This time the food was very, very salty. Waiter very child-friendly and pays attention to parents. If we don't want toys or sweets, the parents don't spend much time persuading us. Class. Really good. Ambiance is a bit rustic, outdated but overall, despite good and bad days, it's worth it.

Relatively large branch of the Block House chain. The tables at the window front and around it are okay, further back it gets a bit dark and, in my opinion, uncomfortable. I always have the feeling of sitting in the basement. There are around 5 tables outside directly on Wandsbeker Marktstrasse. If you like it. The dishes are like everywhere else. Steak is solid. Either you are lucky and the employee at the grill is attentive and the meat comes as ordered... But most of the time not, regardless of whether you are there at peak times or even when there is nothing going on . Then it's usually even worse and you wait 30 minutes after ordering for your steak

It is one of the best Steakhaus I go to, I would recommend it to people who like meat.

After about 40 years as a loyal regular customer, it happened to me for the first time that I was very disappointed with the food. Unfortunately, my rib eye steak was medium rare. It was raw! My wife's filet mignon was also done the same way. So we complained straight away because our service person, who was really very attentive, asked straight away and took the food away straight away. After a few minutes we have the same pieces back at the table. But unfortunately this time the meat was almost cooked through and very dry. I wonder why you don't throw a new piece on the grill in such cases. Since I didn't want to wait any longer, I took a few bites. Unfortunately, the supposedly safe bank Block House is no longer what it used to be. Time to try new things.

So it was only the nice service that kept me from less stars. The photo speaks for itself. Supposed to represent a New York cheeseburger for anyone wondering. Patty on dry lettuce on dry garlic bread with tomatoes and cheese gratinated with dry fries. Great, right? Absolutely delicious. Any snack bar can do that a thousand times better. Never again.

Cleanliness and particularly friendly and attentive staff. I felt very comfortable, only the gratin and the beans weren't quite to my taste, but I'll be back.

Today the waitress and chefs had a bad day. Order salad without peppers and receive it. Ordered tartare twice and received it once. The second one was then brought to us upon request. However, ingredients were missing from the plate. The main course was steaks. Ordered medium rare, unfortunately received raw.

Ambiance is getting old, but that's probably how it should be. But steaks are super awesome!

So far everything is good, but the prices are definitely high. There is no steak dish for less than €30, plus drinks you can quickly reach €40 to €50 per person.

The management at Blockhouse Hauptbahnhof has no inhibition and respect for the employees. They are treated like slaves. Working 12 hours every day, sometimes longer. She gets them out of there without asking if they can at all...just zero respect. If she doesn't have people, she should work in the kitchen herself.

The food is always good, but I think the prices have become extremely expensive, especially the onion soup. As a result, we go there less often now. The staff is always nice. Steaks are always delicious.

Overall there's nothing to complain about, but the grill staff urgently needs training when it comes to the cooking levels. The last 3-4 visits there was hardly any difference between rare and medium well. Therefore 2 stars deducted

My vacation in Hamburg was great

It's a shame, I really enjoyed eating there, whether with guests to celebrate or just because! Today I was shown that the guest is no longer in the foreground! I just asked if we could exchange a side dish, which is possible in Alstertal, it was answered in the negative and we should choose something else, which we did and he left too! When we got our food it was what we didn't want and everything was returned, the second time there was still no potato on the plate! If the restaurant had been busy, I understand a mistake, but twice is one too many.

It is intended as a note for the restaurant management. Despite the poor quality, we ate most of our meat. Today we were back in Wandsbek for dinner. However, very disappointed today. The steak, we had the Mrs. Rumpsteak, was well cooked, but very tough. We almost ate it anyway, leaving any chewed pieces (there were also some at the next table) lying around. You can't tell from the meat, but this note is still for information for the restaurant management. We mentioned it to the waitress and she was very sorry. We should have announced it straight away, we will do that next time.

Today I was at the Block House again with my family after many years. We all had steak. Everything tasted very good. Unfortunately I was unlucky with my steak. It was well grilled but unfortunately so tough that I stopped eating halfway through. The employee said that I should let you know right away and then I would get a new meal. I then explained to her that I didn't want to complain anymore after half of the meal, even though she could already see everything that had been chewed up on the plate. She reacted very nicely and confidently and took my meal completely off the bill. I didn't expect something like that. That alone is reason enough for me to go there again. Maybe I really was just unlucky and the next steak will be perfect

Very nice service. Always attentive. The place has a waiting room atmosphere and is very loud. The burger was very dry and the Mrs rump steak, despite being medium, was anything but tender. The tenderloin steak was good. But with a fillet you have to make serious mistakes in the preparation. If you compare price and performance, then it is clearly too expensive. Unfortunately, the nice service can't make up for this, as people go there primarily for a good steak.

We recently celebrated my mother's birthday there and, as always, we were very satisfied. The service is always quick, friendly and helpful. At the end there was even a photo of all of us in a greeting card that was presented as a menu. These are all small touches that you don't really need, but that bring you great joy. It is also very positive to mention that almost the same staff has been there for years.

Food and everything was just Amazing

"Piccata Milanese", today's dish, was a disaster: it was just a (large) schnitzel that wasn't pounded, so it was far too thick. The breading was rather tasteless. But what was really bad was the completely overcooked spaghetti, which was soggy. When I complained, they said that unfortunately this couldn't be changed because it was convenience food. But I could try linguine. These were brought to me after a bit of a wait, but without sauce. The sauce came after another five minutes; the meat was of course eaten. The sauce was also a ready-made product and, contrary to what was advertised on the menu, did not taste “fresh”. There was no apology and no one asked if it was tasty...

This restaurant is known for its great steak. And this is no different here in Hamburg. Served with delicious pepper sauce and a super tasty salad as a side dish. Unfortunately, things went completely wrong when we ordered a desert at ten to ten in the evening. Never in my life have I been served such a scandalous desert, with the message that you have to be outside at 10 p.m. It is of course possible that in Germany they close at such a ridiculously early hour, but to then throw the customers out with the garbage... treated like nothing short of scandalous this evening. I'm a big fan of Block House, but never here again!

Service was super friendly and attentive. You can't really complain about food, but the P/L isn't right. You can get the same quality elsewhere for less money. Still a place you can visit without hesitation. The older atmosphere has a nice charm.

I have been going to the Block House Wandsbek regularly for more than 40 years. It has been part of my life since I was a child. I have never left this restaurant dissatisfied. Until now. I was horrified to discover that the North Sea crabs, which were always my starter, had been replaced by plain pieces of shrimp. I urge those responsible to reconsider this change. A big thank you and praise to all the great waiters and waitresses who always make your stay there a pleasure.

As always, we were not disappointed with the quality and taste of our steaks and side dishes. The service is above average friendly and very concerned about the guest's satisfaction. The ambience in the front area is pleasant, despite the 90s flair. Just block house style. The back area is a bit loud. Toilets could be checked more regularly. Generally still a good price-performance ratio.

When I asked, my American tenderloin was served particularly quickly because I was pressed for time. Super Service!

Nice service. Portion very small (cheeseburger) - has nothing to do with a standard burger. A slice of bread with patti without sauce and lettuce/tomato etc. The tiny ball of coleslaw found space on a slice of cucumber. Fries Max. a handful - €17.90 proud price.

The branch has recently started offering old potatoes that taste watery and just bad. As an excuse they say the potatoes are like this this year??? How stupid does Eugin actually think his customers are? The steak was stringy, the service forgot the steak sauce. Not good!

I really enjoy eating there, especially because everything is right there! Be it food, service or ambience, I am very satisfied with everything! Even if you have guests there and are celebrating, the employees will come up with something to make the day special.

We were there with a large group for a celebration, the staff tried very hard to respond to all wishes, the children were all served nicely and were given pens and something to paint while they waited. Unfortunately, the food arrived very differently, the first ones were ready when the last ones got their food, but it is also difficult for 30+ people. Otherwise, the steak house is recommended as a whole.

This is just horror, not an establishment. The meat is impossible to chew. I ordered different roasts. The meat is terrible. I went to this establishment for 2 years because of my child, as the child likes to color pictures with pencils in this cafe. But the last time I just put an end to this establishment. I ordered the child meat, juice, potatoes and salad. I ordered meat, potatoes, salad and beer. Later my wife came, she didn’t want to eat, I ordered her wine and gave her my salad. The child didn’t want to eat the salad, so I finished it. The waiter came and started screaming like she was insane. What not to eat baby salad! She screamed like crazy at the whole restaurant. Ruined all the time spent with the child. I will never come to this disgusting establishment again. As I understand it at this eatery, it’s normal! I don’t recommend going here, you will pay money for tasteless dishes and then you will be disgraced throughout the restaurant as if you were a thief. P.S. I always left a tip and was polite.

We were there yesterday with our two little boys. Service was great as always, even if it sometimes seems like everyone is under a lot of stress, you still receive good service. The food was good. Unfortunately, the portions have become a little smaller over the years and there are no mushrooms in the salad either. Little things that we miss.

But the noise level...! I've known the Block House in Wandsbek since 1980. Before the renovation, it was cozy and, even when it was full, not overly loud. The new floor now gives you the feeling of sitting in a large canteen. But you know that and the prices.

The steaks are still very good. Ours were grilled to perfection. However, if you order 3 portions of spinach you want to receive them. We didn't see any of them, but all three were listed on the bill. About the salad: I work in the catering industry myself. We throw iceberg lettuce like this in the trash. In the log cabin it seems to be served on the plate. The prices are far too high for such quality. Furthermore: very narrow and crowded. The noise level is enormous. There was a dog under the neighboring table that was constantly barking. The restaurant can't do anything about it, but if the staff notices that the other guests feel disturbed, they can politely move the guests and the dog to a corner. Furthermore: outside hui ....... Given the prices, there should probably be enough money left over to clean the toilets, even now and then. The stains of feces on the tiles on the walls are not nice either. Smoked a cigarette outside after dinner. There is a button there that asks you to press it if it is too cold. Doesn't work. Other guests then said it had been broken for at least 6 months.
