The brewery sausages with coleslaw and fried potatoes were delicious, accompanied by a home-brewed lager. Friendly service and a cozy dining area centered around the brewing kettles.

Over the years the quality has suffered. Today, unfortunately, it is average at best. The restaurant is well attended and overall very loud.

Yes, you can recommend it... For me personally, I prefer to sit outside in the summer.!!

The positive first. The atmosphere in the brewery is cozy and secretive, although not particularly rustic or steeped in history. The service staff was courteous and pleasant. The most important thing, however, was the food, which was bland and not freshly made: the schnitzel was definitely industrially prepared, and the mushroom sauce was probably too, because handmade food actually tastes much better in terms of appearance and taste. That's a shame and enough for me not to come back.

I had the pleasure of visiting this German cuisine restaurant, and I am absolutely thrilled! Our dinner was unforgettable, and the food delighted everyone in attendance. We ordered many dishes and shared them to taste as much as possible. The pork knuckle, schnitzels, and other dishes were exceptionally delicious. Everything was so tasty that I didn't even have time to take photos! Special attention should be given to the dessert - the cheesecake, which was the true gem of the evening. The staff was very friendly and attentively checked if we needed anything. It was a very positive experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

We've been here for dinner for a long time. As always, it was well attended. The service is very friendly and attentive. All dishes ordered were very tasty. Personally, the meatloaf was a bit too salty for me, but the cheese spaetzel, schnitzel and knuckle tasted absolutely great. The house beer is also very tasty. A visit is fully recommended.

I'm here on a business trip and I should definitely eat a Hessian specialty, it was perfect here and the beer from the brewery was very good. The staff is very attentive and very friendly (the female ones especially) all in all a nice culinary moment. Reservations are recommended for more than two people.

The ambience is debatable, and the acoustics, which are repeatedly criticized, bother some people more and others less. Overall it suits me and thanks to the busy and fast conditions I like being there. What I don't like at all is the price-performance ratio of the food. When there are too many dishes, filling side dishes are replaced with cheap, store-bought coleslaw. For me, this saves money in the wrong place because it makes the prices disproportionate. Back to fried potatoes and it's true again.

Ate delicious knuckle and the beer tasted good too, really nice there. We were traveling in the RV and asked if we could spend a night after dinner in the very large parking lot. Unfortunately the innkeeper denied this. Up to now it was always possible if you ate in a restaurant, even standing in the parking lot for a night. So we probably wouldn't have just had one beer. Too bad.🤷‍♀️

Everything TOP! From appearance, to drinking to eating. Everything is a pleasure! You can tell that the food was made with love and that they really know what to put on your plate. As you can see in the picture, I had a minced beef steak with potatoes and braised onions. I will come more often. The waitresses are all very friendly and fit in really well.

Aufgrund der äußerst unterschiedlichen Bewertungen (auch aus dem eigenen Freundeskreis) sind wir mit sehr gemischten Gefühlen am Valentinstag zum Abendessen in den Kronenhof. Um ehrlich zu sein, hatten wir schon ein alternatives Restaurant im Hinterkopf, falls uns beim Empfang selbiges passieren würde wie anderen Besuchern. Aber wir blieben ! Aufgrund der online-Reservierung wurde uns sofort ein Tisch nahe der Braukessel zugewiesen. Das Lokal war locker belegt. Als Aperitiv Sekt mit hausgemachtem Holunderblütensaft - war ganz nach unserem Geschmack. Der hausgebeizte Lachs mit Wildkräutersalat ebenso sehr lecker. Und der Eisbecher als Desert verdient die Höchstnote. Ok, die Preise könnten 10% niedriger sein, aber dafür bekommt man ein angenehm rustikal-modernes Ambiente, reichlich freie Parkplätze, mehrere e-Ladestationen. Einziges Minus: das Passwort für freies Internet wurde auf Anfrage nicht preisgegeben. Sowohl von Frau Gül als auch ihren männlichen Kollegen wurden wir sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Und als i-Tüpfelchen gab's für meine Frau eine weiße Rose zum Valentinstag.

Yesterday I ordered cheese spaetzle without onions to pick up. At home I was amazed at the portion for 16.50 euros. In the future, we will prefer to order cheese spaetzle again at another restaurant, where the portion is larger and also comes with an extra salad and the taste is definitely not worse. Positive things about the Kronenhof: there are enough parking spaces, a nice beer garden and the inside also looks rustic with the brewing kettles. Unfortunately, the staff is mostly grumpy (with a few exceptions). Too bad

Waren nach einer Zeppelin Fahrt im Kronenhof zum Mittagessen waren mit 6 Personen da was soll ich sagen die Preise waren angemessen und die Getränke das Reiterhof schnitzel war super lecker und reichlich waren noch ein bisschen länger da haben auch noch Nachtisch gegessen. War alles super lecker fahren da auch nochmal hin. Macht weiter so.

I have been here often in the past and have always enjoyed my visits, but unfortunately my visit today was disappointing. The Frankfurter Schnitzel I ordered was a frozen product. We also spent 2 1/2 hours in the restaurant and no one asked us if we would like something more to drink. The plates were only cleared away after over an hour, and only because we had put them aside ourselves. For the time being I won't be coming back as there are better alternatives in Bad Homburg and the surrounding area.

It's definitely worth it for the beer, but the food is also very good, especially the tarte flambée.

Unfortunately the beer is not worth its 55€/case! After a bike ride there, I took the seasonal beer “Dubble” with me in two 1L ToGo bottles. Positive: I was able to try it fresh on tap before I bought it (hence 4 stars for service). It also tasted delicious there. Negative: when I opened it at home a day later, it no longer had any foam (i.e. hardly any/no carbonation?). Very disappointing for a beer for which I paid the equivalent of €55 per case (!!!).

The Kronenhof has a nice atmosphere in the beer garden, especially in summer. However, when we visited two days ago, we were very disappointed with the food. We had two Wiener Schnitzels and a Reiterhofschnitzel. Unfortunately we didn't get freshly prepared schnitzel, but rather frozen food from the metro. It wasn't even prepared in a pan with clarified butter, it was just thrown into the deep fryer. I have rarely eaten such a dry, tasteless schnitzel. It's a shame... I really expected something different from a brewery restaurant and the price of over 17 euros.

Gute Brauhausküche. Leckeres Bier, aber 5,00 € für einen Nachschlag Bratensauce ist abzocke. Das nächste Mal geht das Hauptgericht (ein Hackbraten) an die Küche zurück, wenn da nur ein Klecks Sauce vorhanden ist.

I can't understand the many bad reviews and complainers. Today we ate at the Kronenhof again after a long time and were more than satisfied. The food was excellent, very good home cooking and also some delicacies. The service was great. We can recommend the Kronenhof recommend positively and would be happy to come back soon.

They have been regular guests at Kronenhof for a long time. Every time we are told that all the roaches are reserved, but these places remain completely free until we leave. Then have to sit at the high table. The menu has changed and unfortunately it no longer tastes the same as last year. The courts have decreased significantly. For example, you can't get the beetroot salad with one goat's cream cheese instead of two for the same price. The cola wasn't cold. It has definitely lost quality. We didn't order less than €130-140 for two people each time. My brother told me that it was the last time we were here. Which I find very unfortunate.

Good place to go in Bad Homburg to spend a cozy evening with friends, family or colleagues. The Kronenhof offers enough space. In summer, with the beautiful large beer garden, but also in winter. The service has always been the best on all my visits. All employees are always friendly and concerned about the well-being of the guest. The prices have increased significantly. For example, last week I paid a whopping €21 for three kinds of dumplings, which were about the size of a golf ball and were just lying on a bed of butter, without a small salad on the side. That's 7 euros per dumpling and I think that's completely excessive. Not so long ago you paid €17.50, which was also reasonable. The trend of complete overpricing in many catering establishments continues alarmingly here.

Spent the second Christmas at the Kronenhof. We rented a cabin with 6 people. Food great, staff incredibly attentive and nice, atmosphere excellent. Thank you.

This evening we went to the Kronenhof to eat goose. The service was very very good, thanks to the waiter Julian. And then the goose came. The waiter presented the goose to us in advance and then it was carved in the kitchen. The goose was fried to perfection, the sauce was great and the side dishes such as dumplings and red cabbage were delicious. We were all more than satisfied. We'll definitely be back. Thanks to the team for a great Christmas dinner.

When eating out there, I've eaten venison goulash better, my wife ate a small schnitzel. What bothered me was that the small schnitzel was only 4 euros cheaper than normal but was only half the price. Unfortunately for my taste the schnitzel wasn't homemade either (frozen goods)

I was at the Kronenhof for a Christmas party. We were asked several times in advance that we should please set a menu and we made it clear several times that we would like to dine "Al a Card" if there were under 30 people. So in the short term we would be presented with a special map that only reflects a fraction of the map. The famous knuckle that you normally go there for was not available for us. So I decided on the Frankfurter Schnitzel. The schnitzels looked like standard convenience goods, were dry and tasteless. You can buy the Frankfurter Grüne Sauce at Lidl in the same quality and the fried potatoes were far from homemade. The beer was delicious and unfortunately that was it. All in all, not a place I would go a second time. It's a shame, because the advance laurels for the Kronenhof were actually promising.

Goose pre-ordered - and there is none there in the evening.

We were actually very satisfied. The beer was very tasty. The service was good. We had half a duck, a knuckle and a bit of stuff to share. Everything was fine. Prices are now high everywhere. I just can't understand all the negative reviews. We will continue to visit and test the Kronenhof.

We were in the Kronenhof with a group and had reserved a hut, a handful of which are in front of the restaurant and can accommodate up to 8 people. That was really comfortable. The food was also excellent. Be it skirt steak, minced steak or zander fillet, all dishes were top. The service was also very friendly and quick, even though the service always had to walk from the restaurant to the huts. A clear recommendation!

Food was a total flop. Beer is good. We had to eat in such a bright room with no flair because the brewery was no longer free. I'm just saying plastic tablecloths! Unfortunately the service has noticeably deteriorated... Hello, please, thank you and goodbye are standard…. Unfortunately after the third visit there was no response. The food is food has decreased significantly... everything from the bag or ready-made products. An absolute disaster for a “brewery”. Conclusion: we like to come over for a drink. Absolutely no more eating!

The modern brewery offers a perfect stay with the rustic ambience in the open and bright guest rooms. The numerous waiters were friendly and quick. The large portion of herring for €18.50 was great, as was the classic tarte flambée for €12.50. The two small pieces of roast pork on three modest slices of bread dumplings are very expensive for €22.50.

Beautifully located restaurant with “good home-style” cuisine and seasonal offerings (such as deer) & its own brewery and plenty of parking space - we were very satisfied!

We were at the Kronenhof again today. Very small portions and lukewarm. Two extra mini slices of bread were charged at €2, as was the 0.1 liter beer sample offered by the waitress. The beer was very good as always, but we will avoid this place for food in the future.

Completely overpriced menu, for example the salmon was offered with 3x2 slices of salmon, with a slice of baguette, I missed lemon.

The Kronenhof in Bad Homburg has declined more and more over the years. The typical brewery portions were unfortunately adapted to the main clientele (pensioner's plate) simply not enough for a normal man. However, here's the reason for my bad review: several people at the table had the feeling that they were getting simple, ready-made products. The dumplings were cut so perfectly that they could only have been made by machine! The schnitzel too. Conclusion: If you just want to eat something quickly without a lot of love and at a normal price, you're in good hands here. For those who want to have a hearty meal with several people and drink more than just a 0.3 shandy, I would advise against this restaurant

A restaurant with a nice atmosphere where you can enjoy house beer and a variety of well-cooked German food such as Schweinhaxen, schnitzel, and wurst. The staff are always friendly and provide excellent service, making your meal enjoyable.

I've been to the Kronenhof several times lately to prove myself wrong. Unfortunately, I was disappointed every time. The beer is still good as standard and is easy to drink. The location and ambience are ideal for summer trips. Unfortunately that's just enough for the 2 stars. Please don't misunderstand, nothing here is aimed at the operation. You can be lucky or unlucky (everyone has a bad day sometimes) but we always received ok to very good service. The food is simply of poor quality for a restaurant that charges comparatively average prices. For every dish with fried potatoes you get half raw potatoes that have been kissed on one side in the pan and lack spices (I've seen pictures here that show otherwise, but never saw this in the restaurant and was never served). Schnitzels are fried and dry, meatloaf is ok, dishes with gravy are just about supported by it, but it doesn't make up for the relatively tasteless meat. Conclusion: In the summer, cycle past, drink a few beers, try starters or delicacies and just stay away from the main courses, then you can have a relatively good time. Not recommended at peak times when the restaurant is busy due to the noise and quality. Unfortunately, the beautiful location and the quick service with food don't make up for it. (Unfortunately, serving food too quickly is not always positive, so I prefer to wait 15-20 minutes longer and eat properly)

Unfortunately we were very dissatisfied this time. We waited from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. until we got our food... and then not all at the same time. When we asked we felt like it had been forgotten and then the second time we asked we were told they were short staffed. Our table neighbors came later and were served quicker and had eaten quicker.... Unfortunately we were really disappointed this time...it's not a problem if they are understaffed...then let them know briefly that it might take a while. You could at least prepare for it set.

Today, as I have often done, I was at the Kronenhof as part of a bike trip. Normally I give the Kronenhof 5 stars for everything. Today I was very annoyed. I ordered: roast pork / beer sauce / coleslaw / napkin dumplings A cold meal arrived with almost no sauce. I asked the waiter to add some sauce. This took a very long time, which wasn't a problem because the food was cold. I was surprised when I was charged €4 for the sauce when I paid. Statement from the waiter: If I want something from the kitchen, I have to order it. So a question for management: How should I behave if a situation like this happens to me again? Should I reject the food and ask for an improvement on the sauce? Or adjust the amount of sauce in the future or was it an isolated case.

We were back at the Kronenhof for the first time in 10 years and were unfortunately quite disappointed. The beer is still good, but we were disappointed with the food. On the one hand, the selection on the menu has continued to decrease. Unfortunately, the pasta for the children was more than dry for 7.50 euros. Unfortunately, roast pork was over. Beef meatloaf was quite tasty. Frankfurter Schnitzel was ok. However, a side salad was only available as an extra. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn't very attentive. We were there for dinner on Friday evening. We waited quite a long time and asked a waiter if we could order something. When we ordered, he asked if we each wanted ketchup, to which we said yes. When the food came, we were surprised that the portion of fries consisted of around 17 pieces - but it was neither a children's plate nor a senior plate. The cellar who took the order no longer felt responsible for us. Another waitress didn't respond at all and we spoke to a third service person. She brought us a small bowl of fries. When paying, the ketchup was charged, although the waiter who took the order did not mention that the portion of ketchup costs extra. The waitress we tried to pay was just annoyed and very unfriendly. We asked her for a receipt, but instead she went to 3 other tables and collected money there. Only when we spoke to her did she send us the receipt. Such a beautiful location is made so unattractive by the service. Very unfortunate.

I think that was the last visit. How the service staff treats the customer. 1. without reservation human 2. class 2. all seats reserved 3. 8 of us get a seat until 6 p.m. even though everything is free. Within these 2 hours there are many places left etch empty. 4. After the 2 hours we get an additional 1 hour “grace period”. Even during this hour, many seats remain empty. Our space isn't really taken up either. 5.After 3 hours we leave the restaurant and won't come back

We visited the restaurant in October 2022. The ambience is very nice. The outdoor area is also attractive and there are enough parking spaces. We had reserved a table and it was easy to take. With some distance, the food was okay. We had chosen different dishes. Unfortunately there are a few compromises in service. My father wanted to pay in the end and didn't let himself be talked out of it. Unfortunately, he wasn't very knowledgeable about tipping procedures and was already slightly demented. We then wanted to correct this straight away and told the waitress that what was now on the table was the tip. Unfortunately, the service staff was not prepared to accept the tip and made this clear in a somewhat louder tone. Not so pleasant for us, especially since half the restaurant was now focused on our table. We were then asked to leave the restaurant relatively quickly. Well, whoever has it has it.

It's fair if the waitresses and waiters want to finish work on time and therefore prefer to clear other tables 40 minutes before closing instead of serving, but deliberately ignoring us is rather sad. There doesn't seem to be a good climate when the end of work is much more important than sales/customer satisfaction.

I visited the Kronenhof on the occasion of a birthday party. The service was excellent because it was super nice and attentive. The location corresponds 100% to my ideas of a brewery with a beer garden. The food was delicious and the portions were sufficient. The home-brewed beer and the delicious green sauce are a must. Gladly again!

Nice place to visit. Everything was clean and tidy, lots of staff, fast service, good food (slices of cake were unfortunately very tiny, but tasty). Prices are reasonable, lots of free parking spaces and once a year the Zeppelin lands in front of the door.

I was outside in the beer garden for lunch today. Perfect service and delicious food.

The home-brewed beer is very tasty, but everything else is unfortunately quite disastrous, especially the totally unfriendly restaurant manager who, after a misunderstanding, is not prepared to compromise and even makes cheeky comments. We also observed that people were simply left standing in front of the restaurant even though there were still enough free seats and had to ask several times for the order and bill. Everything seemed very unprofessional. In addition, there is only one vegan dish on the menu for €20 and if you want to put together something from the side dishes yourself, a portion of fries costs €8 all at once, even though it doesn't say that anywhere on the menu. Never again! P.S. The service staff are friendly and you can really feel sorry for the boss!

Dear restaurant management (If there is such a thing at all and if the term restaurant is even accurate, it comes from the French restaurer - to relax, strengthen, refresh - which is not applicable in the case of your house). Well I have to say it is extremely fascinating how this restaurant ignored our reservation. What an incredibly innovative approach to not allow guests in even though they have pre-booked a table! Not to mention the thrill we must have felt waiting while our stomachs growled with hunger. It's much more entertaining to engage in such exciting adventures than just enjoy a delicious meal without stress, isn't it? I have to admit that your house's creative staging of ignoring our reservation is truly a masterstroke. The boldness and originality behind it is admirable. Why should they bother with annoying details like reservations? After all, it's much more exciting and unpredictable if you just show up spontaneously and hope there's a spot available. Who needs planning and organization in a restaurant? This is simply overrated! Okay, that's exactly what we tried before with spontaneously coming over. On a Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. You guessed it, it didn't work. Well, we were there on bikes and not in the Porsche Cayenne. And, of course, we didn't even consider bribes. It's clear that we as guests should appreciate the irony and subtle humor in this situation. It should be viewed as a kind of artistic act in which the restaurant consciously disappoints your expectations and gives you the opportunity to experience the true taste of not eating. You could almost say the restaurant did us a favor by showing us the value of not being able to eat. Overall, this restaurant sets new standards in customer service and hospitality with its decision to ignore our reservation. It's really refreshing to live in a world where you never know whether you'll finally get a table after a long day or not. Congratulations to this establishment, which we mistakenly thought was a restaurant, which surprised us so positively - or not!

That's not how it works here!!! Statement from the unfriendly waiter. Our attempt to visit the Kronenhof. We wanted to have dinner for two at the Kronenhof on Thursday. We were turned away at the entrance. There would be no table for 2 people! Then we booked online, the reservation was confirmed and the waiter still rudely turned us away with the words, THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS HERE. Luckily there are still good, beautiful places to eat well in Bad Homburg.

Had dinner there last night. It was very full, good thing I made a reservation. Although they have a small map, they have almost everything with them. Because I can't eat pork. So my choice was very small, I could decide between minced beef meatball, rump steak and rump steak. I chose the ground beef. I would have liked to have gotten something with turkey/chicken here. Otherwise it was very tasty.

Today I wanted to go back to the Kronenhof for coffee and then something to eat. It was 28 degrees today with sunshine so you would like to be outside to sit in the beer garden. I had just sat down when an unfriendly figure with long hair came. He said the kitchen would stay cold today but he would go to the Vienna Woods. I thought it was a joke, no, he was serious. I should please sit down in the inn, where it was already around 30 degrees. He didn't want to serve us because he would follow his rules. Such an attitude only exists in Germany.
