A restaurant with a nice atmosphere where you can enjoy house beer and a variety of well-cooked German food such as Schweinhaxen, schnitzel, and wurst. The staff are always friendly and provide excellent service, making your meal enjoyable.

I've been to the Kronenhof several times lately to prove myself wrong. Unfortunately, I was disappointed every time. The beer is still good as standard and is easy to drink. The location and ambience are ideal for summer trips. Unfortunately that's just enough for the 2 stars. Please don't misunderstand, nothing here is aimed at the operation. You can be lucky or unlucky (everyone has a bad day sometimes) but we always received ok to very good service. The food is simply of poor quality for a restaurant that charges comparatively average prices. For every dish with fried potatoes you get half raw potatoes that have been kissed on one side in the pan and lack spices (I've seen pictures here that show otherwise, but never saw this in the restaurant and was never served). Schnitzels are fried and dry, meatloaf is ok, dishes with gravy are just about supported by it, but it doesn't make up for the relatively tasteless meat. Conclusion: In the summer, cycle past, drink a few beers, try starters or delicacies and just stay away from the main courses, then you can have a relatively good time. Not recommended at peak times when the restaurant is busy due to the noise and quality. Unfortunately, the beautiful location and the quick service with food don't make up for it. (Unfortunately, serving food too quickly is not always positive, so I prefer to wait 15-20 minutes longer and eat properly)

The ambience is typical of a brewery. Was there with a group of 12 people. Two more people came later and it was no problem for the waiters to move another table, even though we only reserved for 12. The schnitzel with mushroom sauce and knuckle is highly recommended. The beer also tasted excellent

Unfortunately we were very dissatisfied this time. We waited from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. until we got our food... and then not all at the same time. When we asked we felt like it had been forgotten and then the second time we asked we were told they were short staffed. Our table neighbors came later and were served quicker and had eaten quicker.... Unfortunately we were really disappointed this time...it's not a problem if they are understaffed...then let them know briefly that it might take a while. You could at least prepare for it set.

Today, as I have often done, I was at the Kronenhof as part of a bike trip. Normally I give the Kronenhof 5 stars for everything. Today I was very annoyed. I ordered: roast pork / beer sauce / coleslaw / napkin dumplings A cold meal arrived with almost no sauce. I asked the waiter to add some sauce. This took a very long time, which wasn't a problem because the food was cold. I was surprised when I was charged €4 for the sauce when I paid. Statement from the waiter: If I want something from the kitchen, I have to order it. So a question for management: How should I behave if a situation like this happens to me again? Should I reject the food and ask for an improvement on the sauce? Or adjust the amount of sauce in the future or was it an isolated case.

We were back at the Kronenhof for the first time in 10 years and were unfortunately quite disappointed. The beer is still good, but we were disappointed with the food. On the one hand, the selection on the menu has continued to decrease. Unfortunately, the pasta for the children was more than dry for 7.50 euros. Unfortunately, roast pork was over. Beef meatloaf was quite tasty. Frankfurter Schnitzel was ok. However, a side salad was only available as an extra. Unfortunately, our waiter wasn't very attentive. Overall, we wouldn't come back to eat.

Popular excursion restaurant, large beer garden. When the weather is nice, the kitchen is sometimes overwhelmed and you can then wait longer for your food. Food of reasonable quality and selection.

I was only there to eat, I didn't look at the riding facility etc. The decor is a bit rustic, but I find it very comfortable there. All the waiters are very friendly and nice, the food is excellent.

We were there for dinner on Friday evening. We waited quite a long time and asked a waiter if we could order something. When we ordered, he asked if we each wanted ketchup, to which we said yes. When the food came, we were surprised that the portion of fries consisted of around 17 pieces - but it was neither a children's plate nor a senior plate. The cellar who took the order no longer felt responsible for us. Another waitress didn't respond at all and we spoke to a third service person. She brought us a small bowl of fries. When paying, the ketchup was charged, although the waiter who took the order did not mention that the portion of ketchup costs extra. The waitress we tried to pay was just annoyed and very unfriendly. We asked her for a receipt, but instead she went to 3 other tables and collected money there. Only when we spoke to her did she send us the receipt. Such a beautiful location is made so unattractive by the service. Very unfortunate.

A very nice place with very good food. The beer is also supposed to be very good, but I don't drink any. We sat in the garden. It was very busy but the service was quick and very good.

I think that was the last visit. How the service staff treats the customer. 1. without reservation human 2. class 2. all seats reserved 3. 8 of us get a seat until 6 p.m. even though everything is free. Within these 2 hours there are many places left etch empty. 4. After the 2 hours we get an additional 1 hour “grace period”. Even during this hour, many seats remain empty. Our space isn't really taken up either. 5.After 3 hours we leave the restaurant and won't come back

We visited the restaurant in October 2022. The ambience is very nice. The outdoor area is also attractive and there are enough parking spaces. We had reserved a table and it was easy to take. With some distance, the food was okay. We had chosen different dishes. Unfortunately there are a few compromises in service. My father wanted to pay in the end and didn't let himself be talked out of it. Unfortunately, he wasn't very knowledgeable about tipping procedures and was already slightly demented. We then wanted to correct this straight away and told the waitress that what was now on the table was the tip. Unfortunately, the service staff was not prepared to accept the tip and made this clear in a somewhat louder tone. Not so pleasant for us, especially since half the restaurant was now focused on our table. We were then asked to leave the restaurant relatively quickly. Well, whoever has it has it.

It's fair if the waitresses and waiters want to finish work on time and therefore prefer to clear other tables 40 minutes before closing instead of serving, but deliberately ignoring us is rather sad. There doesn't seem to be a good climate when the end of work is much more important than sales/customer satisfaction.

I visited the Kronenhof on the occasion of a birthday party. The service was excellent because it was super nice and attentive. The location corresponds 100% to my ideas of a brewery with a beer garden. The food was delicious and the portions were sufficient. The home-brewed beer and the delicious green sauce are a must. Gladly again!

The home-brewed beer is very tasty, but everything else is unfortunately quite disastrous, especially the totally unfriendly restaurant manager who, after a misunderstanding, is not prepared to compromise and even makes cheeky comments. We also observed that people were simply left standing in front of the restaurant even though there were still enough free seats and had to ask several times for the order and bill. Everything seemed very unprofessional. In addition, there is only one vegan dish on the menu for €20 and if you want to put together something from the side dishes yourself, a portion of fries costs €8 all at once, even though it doesn't say that anywhere on the menu. Never again! P.S. The service staff are friendly and you can really feel sorry for the boss!

Nice place to visit. Everything was clean and tidy, lots of staff, fast service, good food (slices of cake were unfortunately very tiny, but tasty). Prices are reasonable, lots of free parking spaces and once a year the Zeppelin lands in front of the door.

Dear restaurant management (If there is such a thing at all and if the term restaurant is even accurate, it comes from the French restaurer - to relax, strengthen, refresh - which is not applicable in the case of your house). Well I have to say it is extremely fascinating how this restaurant ignored our reservation. What an incredibly innovative approach to not allow guests in even though they have pre-booked a table! Not to mention the thrill we must have felt waiting while our stomachs growled with hunger. It's much more entertaining to engage in such exciting adventures than just enjoy a delicious meal without stress, isn't it? I have to admit that your house's creative staging of ignoring our reservation is truly a masterstroke. The boldness and originality behind it is admirable. Why should they bother with annoying details like reservations? After all, it's much more exciting and unpredictable if you just show up spontaneously and hope there's a spot available. Who needs planning and organization in a restaurant? This is simply overrated! Okay, that's exactly what we tried before with spontaneously coming over. On a Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. You guessed it, it didn't work. Well, we were there on bikes and not in the Porsche Cayenne. And, of course, we didn't even consider bribes. It's clear that we as guests should appreciate the irony and subtle humor in this situation. It should be viewed as a kind of artistic act in which the restaurant consciously disappoints your expectations and gives you the opportunity to experience the true taste of not eating. You could almost say the restaurant did us a favor by showing us the value of not being able to eat. Overall, this restaurant sets new standards in customer service and hospitality with its decision to ignore our reservation. It's really refreshing to live in a world where you never know whether you'll finally get a table after a long day or not. Congratulations to this establishment, which we mistakenly thought was a restaurant, which surprised us so positively - or not!

That's not how it works here!!! Statement from the unfriendly waiter. Our attempt to visit the Kronenhof. We wanted to have dinner for two at the Kronenhof on Thursday. We were turned away at the entrance. There would be no table for 2 people! Then we booked online, the reservation was confirmed and the waiter still rudely turned us away with the words, THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS HERE. Luckily there are still good, beautiful places to eat well in Bad Homburg.

Had dinner there last night. It was very full, good thing I made a reservation. Although they have a small map, they have almost everything with them. Because I can't eat pork. So my choice was very small, I could decide between minced beef meatball, rump steak and rump steak. I chose the ground beef. I would have liked to have gotten something with turkey/chicken here. Otherwise it was very tasty.

Today I wanted to go back to the Kronenhof for coffee and then something to eat. It was 28 degrees today with sunshine so you would like to be outside to sit in the beer garden. I had just sat down when an unfriendly figure with long hair came. He said the kitchen would stay cold today but he would go to the Vienna Woods. I thought it was a joke, no, he was serious. I should please sit down in the inn, where it was already around 30 degrees. He didn't want to serve us because he would follow his rules. Such an attitude only exists in Germany. Maybe he should treat himself to a vacation in the USA, where customer service is still number one! After my experience, I went to a restaurant where I was served in a friendly manner. I had planned to celebrate a larger event there but the money went somewhere else.

Looking for a place for 20 guests at short notice and asked for help. Get help. We got space, good service and, as usual, great products. So if it's possible, THEY (the lb team at the Kronenhof) will do it, if it's not possible then that's just how it was. Thanks!

The atmosphere is really nice in summer. The kids have room to run and the two tractors are great for climbing and playing. We received a very friendly welcome and were given a nice table. Unfortunately, the service is anything but attentive and fast. It took a very long time for the menus and the food to arrive. The food is very expensive and of absolutely poor quality. We had 2 different dishes with corn-fed chicken breast. Unfortunately this was inedible because it was super tough and hard. Every shoe sole is more supple. Our complaint was received rather boredly. There was no apology. In the end we were given one of the two dishes. We had to pay in full for the other one, because after all we would have eaten the side dishes. Certainly not because they were so delicious. Rather because we were hungry and it took forever before we could voice our complaint, even though we actively contacted the bar. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Kronenhof.

There's still something you can do about the food, the "beetroot" salad wasn't particularly refined - rather defensive in terms of taste and boring.

We recently visited the restaurant and were unfortunately disappointed overall. The food was average at best. The coleslaw was unseasoned, the meat was not tender and contained a lot of tendons. The button spaetzle also still has room for improvement and was nothing special in terms of taste. The service also left a lot to be desired. The side salad was initially forgotten and only brought after we remembered. The coleslaw and the spaetzle were not initially served either. In addition, the staff often walked past our table without noticing us. A particular annoyance was that the person who took our order did not serve it himself. As a result, the order was probably lost. It is incomprehensible why orders are taken when they are not served. Our drinks were also forgotten twice. The location itself is unspectacular and not particularly inviting. The tables and chairs are simple and fit into the overall picture.

Man doesn't feel invited... So I've been there twice and found the staff unfriendly.

As beer fans, we love going to breweries. The food here at the Kronenhof is better than at the Brauhaus Oberursel. However, the service at the Brauhaus Oberursel is better than at the Kronenhof. We waited half an hour for service, no one cared that we were there. A waiter who was called told us that he was not responsible for us. After this statement, we left the place disappointed without ordering anything and will never come back there again. The service is catastrophic, never again.

First of all, the beer they brew is great and the food is great. The Frankfurter Schnitzel tastes simply amazing. Big praise to this place and the super friendly staff.

Very nice beer garden. Small but sufficient menu with down-to-earth dishes that correspond to the region. Own house beer. Very friendly, courteous staff. Highly recommended.

The food is really great, both visually and in terms of taste. The conditions even radiated friendliness and regularly asked if we needed anything else without being intrusive. The ambience was great both inside and outside due to the temperature and the fact that it looked like it was raining when we sat inside. It was beautifully decorated with older pictures and newspaper clippings from bygone times and much more. So all in all, it's worth a visit.

The food is food has decreased significantly... everything from the bag or ready-made products. An absolute disaster for a “brewery”. Conclusion: we like to come over for a drink. Absolutely no more eating!

We were there with a group of around 10-12 people on a beautiful summer day and sat outside. The food came very quickly after about 15 minutes for everyone at the same time. Very good quality. Service unfortunately not courteous. For example, the wrong drink was brought, when we were told, unfortunately there was no intention to exchange it. At around 10 p.m. we were literally waved out with an unfriendly hand gesture ^^^^ as it was closing - unfortunately that makes the shop with an otherwise very pleasant atmosphere unappealing. Because of that, unfortunately I wouldn't go there again.

The best steak all freshly prepared

First of all, the positive: the ambience is great. Very nice beer garden with lots of seating. And now unfortunately the negative: Waiter not very competent. Flexibility is non-existent. Although the menu says sparkling wine with elderflower syrup, it was not possible to get an elderflower spritzer (i.e. water). Instead I ordered a small Coca Cola. I got a large Pepsi or Sinalco (the menu says Coca Cola!). The only answer to my complaint was: yes, the waiter took the wrong answer, but there was no apology or even replacement. Frankfurter Schnitzel was a frozen product and the green sauce was also a convenience product. Fried potatoes quite unseasoned. Very disappointing and won't be back.

We paid €58 for two people, which is of course not exactly cheap. However, had 3 beers (large) and 2 portions AND the condition is very friendly and fast!! (We were there on Thursday afternoon) so the price-performance ratio is recommended in my opinion. You don't treat yourself every day. And the food + beer is really delicious! You'll definitely get full! We would love to come back just for the delicious beer! :)

Large restaurant, nice service, but food is nothing special

I had a Frankfurter Schnitzel for €19.50. Unfortunately, nothing special in terms of taste. Unfortunately I found the portion a bit too small for the price. The light beer is delicious. The service was relatively slow and slowed down a lot towards the end (around 7 p.m.). The ambience is very nice.

I had asparagus today. The asparagus was slightly sour (not bitter). How is that possible? Plus the unpeeled potatoes, one of which was bad. So that was very disappointing. The staff wasn't friendly.

Nice brewery yard. The food was very tasty, the waitresses were all very attentive, extremely friendly and quick. The highlight is the very tasty beer from our own production. The entire area is comfortably furnished. A large beer garden in the inner courtyard completes the great overall picture. Great and absolutely recommended.

The restaurant is a little outside. Parking spaces are available. Due to the size of the restaurant, I think it can be tight when there are a lot of people. The food was ok but conveyor belt. The attentiveness of the waitress was just acceptable. Overall, it is very loud in the restaurant due to the acoustics; you could hardly have a conversation across the table. Prices are just OK. Overall, an excursion restaurant for guests without high standards of cuisine or if you just want to drink beer.

The food was delicious and came very quickly. The service was friendly and communicative. There is a large beer garden outside and many places inside with a nice brewery atmosphere due to the large kettles.

Dear Wagner family We were very disappointed at how the previously good quality of the food has changed. We all tasted the Covinience cuisine. The schnitzels used to be pan-fried and really worth recommending. The reduced dessert selection reinforced the impression of a fast food restaurant. I think we'll look for a new local bar... What a shame.

Yesterday the three of us + dog were there because my wife and I drove past it often and yesterday it just happened that we had dinner there with a reservation and a friend. The location is simply wonderful. A nice, large parking lot can be found outside the location, there are good transport connections and once you've parked, somehow in nature and yet in the city, that's very funny and when you enter the inner courtyard you come across a very beautiful and Large outdoor area, inside the restaurant it is also nicely decorated and there is probably an extra room that you can rent, if we saw correctly. The staff was very friendly, courteous and communicative from the first second and laughed with us and spread a good mood with every person who served us. There was one small exception but the slip-up could be forgiven once you understood the background. I ordered a Handkäs' with music as a starter and I'll tell it like it is, that's very important to me as a starter, I'm very picky and critical and I love a good Handkäs'. The portion was just right. 2 pieces of cheese with a lot of onions, but the taste wasn't too overpowering and overall it was the best hand cheese I've ever eaten outside. Thank you for that ! For the main course I had the Frankfurter Schnitzel and that too was portioned just right. 2 schnitzels that were very deliciously breaded, fried potatoes that were not too "burnt" or too flaky and the green sauce was served separately to be distributed independently on the plate. I have to say that the green sauce didn't taste homemade to me. I could be wrong, but to me it tasted a lot like a ready-made product from a well-known supermarket chain. If it was homemade, I'd be grateful for that too because overall it tasted great. I had 2 of 3 house beers to drink (Maibock & Kronenhof Hell). Very tasty and also absolutely recommended. The clientele that visits the Kronenhof is very pleasant and diverse. Young and old, business partners, families and everything in between and the behavior and volume are also very pleasant. We celebrated my birthday there last night in a small setting and were completely impressed by the overall package!

I spontaneously chose this restaurant because I was nearby on business. The food is good, home-style cuisine and didn't disappoint. The staff is very nice and the house beer is recommended. It seemed to me to be well attended and that speaks for the establishment. If I'm in the area again, I'll be happy to come back.

The hand cheese is edible, with factory bread. The schnitzel and salad didn't come despite asking twice from 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m., so we left hungry. Waiter said he didn't know what was going on. Me neither.

Rustic restaurant with good food and friendly staff. There are mostly dishes “just like mom’s” that are very tasty. No overcrowded plates, which I personally like. Still enough to fill you up. It's always full and it's better to reserve in advance. In addition, the noise level in the restaurant is always very high. The outdoor area is spacious and children feel very comfortable here. There are also wooden houses that can be booked for small celebrations. The “Kronenhof” brewery is always worth a trip because the surrounding area invites you to take a walk or you can cycle through the fields...

Great Frankfurter schnitzel with green sauce but also seasonal food such as a very tasty leg of lamb. Accordingly, so do the prices for them. Asparagus 1A. Highly recommended, must be wonderful to sit outside, especially in summer. There are enough parking spaces, unfortunately not accessible by public transport. The interior design also has a bit of a traditional feel to it in my opinion. You just sit at wooden tables and it's not that comfortable. But the food and service make up for it.
