We used to come here often, but not last year. What's changed to the menu and the dishes in just a year is shocking. The portions are incredibly small. My five-year-old daughter, who usually eats rather meagerly, ate a full-sized portion of spaetzle. My salad... sorry, "bowl" - although it wasn't served in a bowl - for €20, it was smaller than a side salad - really (please compare the salad with the bread (very dry)... and my wife's plate of green sauce with fried potatoes wasn't generously filled either. However, it was rather expensive for a little green sauce with potatoes. Overall, we waited over an hour for our food. I mentioned it to the waiter while clearing the table, and he said that it was very busy today, and that's why the kitchen was rationing the food. Quote: "I can tell by the weight of the plates." And of course, the price wasn't "rationed" or adjusted. I find that quite a stretch... all the more shocking that they can even admit this to the customer, according to the motto "you can get along with the customers." That was the last time we were at the Kronenhof for a long time! Sorry...

A lovely day trip destination in Bad Homburg with a fantastic view of Frankfurt's skyline and the surrounding fields. Dogs are also welcome.

The green sauce with four eggs was okay, but poorly presented and rather below average. The children's portion of fries was tiny and definitely overpriced at €6.50. The cheese dumplings tasted like they came straight out of a bag; not recommended. On the plus side, the service was friendly and the outdoor seating was nice.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. Waited an hour for the food, and then one portion arrived 10 minutes late. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was dry, and it came with a meager portion of fries. They also skimped on the sauce. €20 for that, please. Regarding the service: You have a dog with you, and you have to get the bowl yourself (outside). I've had different experiences. All in all, classic mass processing.

The food, and especially the homemade beer, was very good. Unfortunately, due to a server change, we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food. Hence the deduction of minutes.

The price-performance ratio and quality of the food is truly disappointing. I had a tarte flambée with Roquefort and pears, which had such a sparse topping that it tasted of little to nothing. My girlfriend had a sausage salad, and the portion was really small. The bowl or salad with turkey breast is quite expensive. The seating is quite pleasant, but all in all, it's mass-produced food—you have to like it.

The Kronenhof used to be much better. The food was quite tasty, but my Reiterhof schnitzel barely had a drop of sauce on it. Both schnitzels had a good surface and looked like a good portion, but they were so flattened that I've never seen anything like it. In fact, the breading was much thicker than the meat. Friends at the table felt the same way. After the significant price increase since my last visit, this is poor value for money, at least for the guest. It's not nice to have wasps outside in the summer, but it's pretty normal, so you have to expect it. But a definite no-go for me is the fact that there are cockroaches everywhere, climbing all over the guests and the tables. It ruined my appetite!!! I won't be coming back anytime soon. It's a shame, but it can't go on like this!

After visiting the Zeppelin Museum, we went here on recommendation and had a delicious meal. A lovely inn in the middle of a field with a large beer garden. Unfortunately, we didn't find or read anything about Zeppelin aircraft, but that didn't detract from our experience.

An absolute recommendation. We had a wonderful stay. The service was absolutely top-notch. Compliments and thank you very much. The service was child-friendly and very accommodating. The food and drinks matched the ambiance. A great concept and excellent organization. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Very tasty knuckle of pork, tarte flambée, and schnitzel. The home-brewed beers are excellent. A large outdoor area with plenty of space between tables. The seating isn't too close together inside either. A very pleasant atmosphere, although it can get a bit noisy inside during peak times. Highly recommended!

Nice large beer garden with friendly staff. Unfortunately there were no candles at the table, so it was very dark while eating. Since the menu can be read directly on your cell phone via QR, you only need the light to find your food.

Unfortunately, we won't be back. A small salad with six small pieces of (dry) chicken cost just under €23. The children's schnitzel wasn't big enough, even for my child. The green sauce was far too sour. The service was partly pleasant, but partly unpleasant, with spilled drinks and fries flying onto the tables because plates, glasses, and drinks were roughly placed down. Many wasps were delighted.

We ordered a rump steak with potatoes. Unfortunately, we were unlucky; the meat was hard to eat, and many parts were hard to chew. For the price of €35, I wouldn't recommend it. The beer was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice.

I'm one of those people who, when something doesn't go well, gives it a second chance. That's what I did here, too, and I went there for dinner with a friend today, my second visit. My friend had a reservation and would have liked to sit by the window. Unfortunately, there were no seats available, and the table they offered us didn't appeal to us, so we decided to sit outside. We were told then that if we wanted to go inside, there might not be any space left. It was similar on my first visit, and we were told (I was there with another friend at the time, by the way) that only this one table was available, and as we were leaving, we saw that some of the tables weren't even occupied. Of course, there are people who make reservations and then don't show up, but they do at several tables. That seemed very strange to us. Back to this evening: We order an aperitif, and since we had already chosen, we also ordered our food. Less than 10 minutes later, two people came to our table. First, we got the aperitif and second, our schnitzel. Sorry, that's not possible. If I order an aperitif, I want to drink it and then maybe have another drink with my meal (which, by the way, we ordered and only arrived after we asked for it). Of course, you don't want to wait an hour for your food, but after 10 minutes, even though you haven't even taken a sip of your aperitif. I don't think that's very professional. When we finished our meal, it got quite chilly, and we told the lady serving us that we'd like to go inside. She literally said, "I already told you at the beginning that if you want to come in later, I won't have any room inside for you." What could she have said, "I'll check inside to see if there's a seat for you!" For example! Even if she had come out to tell us there were no seats left, it's really the tone that makes the difference. By the way, there were still plenty of free tables inside, and we had obviously finished eating and just wanted to finish our drinks in peace. Oh, there would have been an option to say: You're welcome to sit there, but the next guests will be arriving in 30 minutes. Do you have enough time? That would have been an option too. In any case, we'd had enough and replied: We'd leave now and would like to pay. To which she replied in a very snippy tone: You could at least give me the opportunity to look for a seat! Well, we all know how it is: one story, ten opinions! In any case, I'm definitely going to steer clear of this place. What a shame, because the food was okay.

Disappointing visit – unfortunately not convincing Our expectations were unfortunately too high. The service seemed distracted and unattentive for long stretches. The food was more reminiscent of an average cafeteria – with a limited selection and frozen products. The ambiance was okay, but didn't really improve the overall impression. Overall, the visit unfortunately doesn't leave a positive impression.

I stopped here with my brother and our mother for a leisurely lunch. I had the dumpling trio, which was so well prepared that it certainly doesn't shy away from comparison with Tyrolean fare! The trio consisted of spinach, beetroot, and mountain cheese dumplings. They were served with browned butter. A dream! The food, ambiance, and service temporarily transported me a little to South Tyrol. My relatives' food (Schnipo) was obviously also delicious, and the plates at the neighboring tables all looked very appealing. In short: I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone for a delicious, tasty break from everyday life!

Very unfriendly staff. We were standing in front of the door with our children and asked for a table, but there weren't any available for us at the moment (80% of all tables were free). The tables were reserved, so we asked when we would just eat and leave straight away. At that time, it was 4 p.m. The waiter said, yes, in the near future, but he didn't know the times. We sat in the forecourt for 30 minutes to look for somewhere else to go. Strangely, we hadn't received a reservation yet. Disappointing visit to the Brauhaus Bad Homburg. I ordered a Handkäse and an Äppler - everything tasted fine, but the portion of "music" (onions) was really sparse. When I asked for more onions, they immediately brought me more. - Great! When I paid, I wondered what I had paid 20 euros for...? Handkäse cost just under 9 euros, Äppler 5, and extra onions actually 3 euros (!) extra - so a completely normal, run-of-the-mill Handkäse for 12 euros!! After I asked about the invoice being checked, the explanation was: "Some people eat more onions, some less - which is why our schnitzels are bigger." - Aha, that argument was sound and I found it completely understandable 👍 We're talking about a few raw onions here - not a special request, but a basic ingredient in the dish. I've never had to reorder more music at a Handkäse restaurant before. Anyone who takes such a petty approach to collecting money isn't putting the guest first, but rather the cash register. The overall impression: 20 euros for apple and hand cheese, including a tip – that's about right! I've been there many times, even with large groups, and I've never noticed anything so negative! That was it for me!

Nice outdoor restaurant with a great atmosphere

The food was good but the service was terrible!! We waited over an hour between the starter and the main course! The waiter must have forgotten to order the main course! A stammering and completely illogical attempt at an explanation! The climax was the statement: They shouldn't have ordered a starter!! Drinks service was zero! We had to wait a full 41 minutes for an apple spritzer, a wheat beer and a Coke with ice and then - just like with the first Coke - the ice was missing again! Oh I forgot, we complained three times for the second round! Our request for the table to be cleared was ignored! In summary - once and never again!!

Waiting almost an hour between the starter and the main course is too much, sorry. Then I order drinks with ice cubes at a temperature of over 30 degrees Celsius, which aren't made yet again, and then the waiter thinks he has to correct me!!! Sorry, that was you. And then the real shocker: the three dumplings with brown butter alone: ​​way too much butter, which you can't enjoy!!

Great location, unlike in the past, with very good and fast service. The portions aren't exactly commensurate with the price. But it's delicious.

We were there again today after a long time. The ambiance is simply lovely, and the staff very courteous and helpful. The food was delicious as always, although I also think there's not enough sauce. You get so much schnitzel and relatively little sauce for it. What I didn't like at all was that when you order a Coke, Fanta, Sprite, etc., it comes from a glass mug that also serves beer, and the glass just smelled absolutely of beer. Of course, it's a matter of taste, but I found it really unpleasant 😕 But otherwise, I highly recommend it.

We often go to the Kronenhof, especially the beer garden. Yesterday, on June 9, 2025, was an absolute disaster. It took a whopping 65 minutes for us to place our order, including food and drinks! Although the indoor seating and beer garden were at most half full, we stood at the entrance with about 15 other guests for 20 minutes, waiting to be seated. No waiter was present, and no usher came. All 20 guests then went to vacant seats without instructions. The service there varied greatly. Our table in the beer garden actually didn't receive a waiter for 45 minutes. Of course, no explanation or even apology, even though there were actually enough waiters. There were five of us at the table, and we still had a good time, even without drinks. Perhaps this was a special, exceptional situation, but it's still something to think about. One should be happy that there are still waiters at all. What the heck! ......................

We used to come here often, the quality had steadily declined, now it's just overpriced mass processing. The dishes are geared towards quantity rather than quality, if you like that then you've come to the right place - for me it's more important that the food tastes good. On top of that it was so loud in the dining room you couldn't hear yourself. The service on the other hand was the worst, unfriendly, overwhelmed and annoyed. When we complained the so-called service manager came over, she was obviously even more unsuccessful in her job, saying things like "she couldn't care less and she's not interested" - that's exactly not how you should act if you want to de-escalate a situation. That was definitely our last visit.

We dropped in spontaneously on a Monday evening and managed to get a seat despite the restaurant being packed. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was lovely and rustic, and the food (pike-perch and asparagus) was excellent. We'd be happy to go back anytime!

Cozy, family-run place. There are tables inside and outside. The beer is homemade. It's delicious and the portions are very large. Everything we ordered was delicious and it's a very regional menu with so many great German dishes to try. We recommend the Reiterhof schnitzel with creamy mushroom sauce.

The beer garden is beautifully situated in the manor house. However, the menu doesn't live up to the expectations of a beer garden. Lighter dishes are particularly lacking. Prices are relatively high, including for beer.

The salad was poorly prepared and loaded with convenience foods; the asparagus was quite firm and could have been peeled better in some places.

Nice beer garden. Lots of space inside too, nice. Fields all around... you can take a walk. Beautiful! Free parking available, great! Very good food and drinks, but the price-performance ratio isn't right, and the service isn't quite up to scratch either... We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened, ordered food and drinks, and asked for an ashtray. Half an hour later, still no food and no ashtray, drinks long gone, but nobody cares. It used to be better here. Asparagus with a very small amount of sauce, asked for more... a small pot came for an extra €5, even though no one told us beforehand. Beetroot salad was also more vibrant last year... Luckily, you can also pay by card, but you have to pay attention to whether everything has been billed correctly... they simply charged us the same price for both of us, even though the dishes were really far apart in price... But they refunded it upon request. Still, it leaves a strange aftertaste.

A large outdoor area, including high tables and a champagne bar for welcoming guests. Inside, it's quaint and cozy. We sat in a side room as a group. The service was friendly, and the wait time between courses was just right. The food itself was a dream. Incredibly delicious, with a bombastic flavor, and the portions felt enormous. Even the little guests were catered to right away, so their food came with our appetizer. Afterwards, we played with the two historic tractors in the courtyard. Even though the journey took us a good 1.5 hours, we'll definitely be back!

Completely extortionate prices with manageable portions. Schnitzel from the deep fryer. Fries €8! We're talking about a few fried potato sticks... Of course, ketchup costs extra... Staff not particularly friendly. Cyclist €5.80. Long waiting times, child gets the food last. :-( We'd rather stop somewhere else on the next bike tour. There's one star for the beer garden.

We come here very often and like the food and ambience. I always order Frankfurter Schnitzel, the fried potatoes are not always the same, they are sometimes better and sometimes worse depending on the cook. I wished for more green sauce for the Frankfurter Schnitzel, because the amount of sauce for the schnitzel is not enough at all. So we asked for a little more sauce, and ended up adding €5 more to the bill for a small extra bowl of green sauce! Which is completely unjustified :(

Finally managed to visit this restaurant and brewery. Very nicely laid out with a large beer garden. Full points and unconditional recommendation from me!! The beer was very good and the food tasted great. Despite the house being full, the owner came to our table, greeted us and asked if everything was OK. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. The service was not professional and for the size of the restaurant the cake could have been booked out as a gesture of goodwill. We had to pay for it and it cost €11. The price is set too high. We only took the tart on the recommendation of the staff. The food took a very long time and you were almost ignored by the waitress. The chef should work on his customer friendliness. In addition, the receipt was shown with the designation: “No invoice”. That should be changed.

The positive first. The atmosphere in the brewery is cozy and secretive, although not particularly rustic or steeped in history. The service staff was courteous and pleasant. The most important thing, however, was the food, which was bland and not freshly made: the schnitzel was definitely industrially prepared, and the mushroom sauce was probably too, because handmade food actually tastes much better in terms of appearance and taste. I'm here on a business trip and I should definitely eat a Hessian specialty, it was perfect here and the beer from the brewery was very good. The staff is very attentive and very friendly (the female ones especially) all in all a nice culinary moment. Reservations are recommended for more than two people.

The ambience is debatable, and the acoustics, which are repeatedly criticized, bother some people more and others less. Overall it suits me and thanks to the busy and fast conditions I like being there. What I don't like at all is the price-performance ratio of the food. When there are too many dishes, filling side dishes are replaced with cheap, store-bought coleslaw. For me, this saves money in the wrong place because it makes the prices disproportionate. Back to fried potatoes and it's true again.

Ate delicious knuckle and the beer tasted good too, really nice there. We were traveling in the RV and asked if we could spend a night after dinner in the very large parking lot. Unfortunately the innkeeper denied this. Up to now it was always possible if you ate in a restaurant, even standing in the parking lot for a night. So we probably wouldn't have just had one beer. Too bad.🤷‍♀️

Everything TOP! From appearance, to drinking to eating. Everything is a pleasure! You can tell that the food was made with love and that they really know what to put on your plate. As you can see in the picture, I had a minced beef steak with potatoes and braised onions. I will come more often. The waitresses are all very friendly and fit in really well.

Aufgrund der äußerst unterschiedlichen Bewertungen (auch aus dem eigenen Freundeskreis) sind wir mit sehr gemischten Gefühlen am Valentinstag zum Abendessen in den Kronenhof. Um ehrlich zu sein, hatten wir schon ein alternatives Restaurant im Hinterkopf, falls uns beim Empfang selbiges passieren würde wie anderen Besuchern. Aber wir blieben ! Aufgrund der online-Reservierung wurde uns sofort ein Tisch nahe der Braukessel zugewiesen. Das Lokal war locker belegt. Als Aperitiv Sekt mit hausgemachtem Holunderblütensaft - war ganz nach unserem Geschmack. Der hausgebeizte Lachs mit Wildkräutersalat ebenso sehr lecker. Und der Eisbecher als Desert verdient die Höchstnote. Ok, die Preise könnten 10% niedriger sein, aber dafür bekommt man ein angenehm rustikal-modernes Ambiente, reichlich freie Parkplätze, mehrere e-Ladestationen. Einziges Minus: das Passwort für freies Internet wurde auf Anfrage nicht preisgegeben. Sowohl von Frau Gül als auch ihren männlichen Kollegen wurden wir sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Und als i-Tüpfelchen gab's für meine Frau eine weiße Rose zum Valentinstag.

Yesterday I ordered cheese spaetzle without onions to pick up. At home I was amazed at the portion for 16.50 euros. In the future, we will prefer to order cheese spaetzle again at another restaurant, where the portion is larger and also comes with an extra salad and the taste is definitely not worse. Positive things about the Kronenhof: there are enough parking spaces, a nice beer garden and the inside also looks rustic with the brewing kettles. Unfortunately, the staff is mostly grumpy (with a few exceptions). Too bad

Waren nach einer Zeppelin Fahrt im Kronenhof zum Mittagessen waren mit 6 Personen da was soll ich sagen die Preise waren angemessen und die Getränke das Reiterhof schnitzel war super lecker und reichlich waren noch ein bisschen länger da haben auch noch Nachtisch gegessen. War alles super lecker fahren da auch nochmal hin. Macht weiter so.

I have been here often in the past and have always enjoyed my visits, but unfortunately my visit today was disappointing. The Frankfurter Schnitzel I ordered was a frozen product. We also spent 2 1/2 hours in the restaurant and no one asked us if we would like something more to drink. The plates were only cleared away after over an hour, and only because we had put them aside ourselves. For the time being I won't be coming back as there are better alternatives in Bad Homburg and the surrounding area.

It's definitely worth it for the beer, but the food is also very good, especially the tarte flambée.

Positive: I was able to try it fresh on tap before I bought it (hence 4 stars for service). It also tasted delicious there. Negative: when I opened it at home a day later, it no longer had any foam (i.e. hardly any/no carbonation?). Very disappointing for a beer for which I paid the equivalent of €55 per case (!!!).

The Kronenhof has a nice atmosphere in the beer garden, especially in summer. However, when we visited two days ago, we were very disappointed with the food. We had two Wiener Schnitzels and a Reiterhofschnitzel. Unfortunately we didn't get freshly prepared schnitzel, but rather frozen food from the metro. It wasn't even prepared in a pan with clarified butter, it was just thrown into the deep fryer. I have rarely eaten such a dry, tasteless schnitzel. It's a shame... I really expected something different from a brewery restaurant and the price of over 17 euros.

Super fast service at lunchtime, very tasty food and nice atmosphere.

Gute Brauhausküche. Leckeres Bier, aber 5,00 € für einen Nachschlag Bratensauce ist abzocke. Das nächste Mal geht das Hauptgericht (ein Hackbraten) an die Küche zurück, wenn da nur ein Klecks Sauce vorhanden ist.

Here for a company function. A great time. There is an upper room that we rented. Food is catered.
