Wie immer wenn ich in München bin, besuche ich gemeinsam mit meinen Geschäftspartnern und Freunden „DAS ANDECHSER AM DOM“ in München. Auch aktuell waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dem guten, freundlichen Service und den angebotenen Speisen und Getränken - EINS A

Ausgezeichnetes Ambiente schön bayrisch wie man sich das vorstellt und ein bürgerlich bayrisches Essen mit guter Qualität, der Service war hervorragend. Endlich ein gscheiter Spanferkel-Haxen und nicht wie am Tag vorher ein vertrockneter 1/2 Haxen in einem anderen Lokal.

I didn't find it child-friendly at all, we had to fetch the high chair from upstairs ourselves and there weren't even colored pencils or paper for the little ones. For a restaurant in the middle of the city, this is unacceptable!

We had dinner at Andechser am Dom and were more than satisfied. Very friendly and courteous service and fantastically good food.

The food is very good, the prices are high but reasonable, the city center bonus is added here, like in other restaurants nearby. We ate burgers with fries. They were extremely tasty. The staff is attentive and nice. The restaurant is very full on weekends and therefore noisy.

Since I didn't give a tip, I gave it to them and told them not to come here again.

The burger tasted like it came from the microwave and the goulash soup was just potatoes and tomato paste with a hard piece of bread. The service wasn't much better as we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. I would have expected more for this price...

Excellent food in a typical brewery. Excellent suckling pigtail in beer juice, great coleslaw. Wagyu burgers super tasty.

Heerlijk gegeten (varkensvlees van het huis en kippeborst) in dit drukke maar sfeervolle restaurant. Lekkere toetjes en wijntjes ook. Vriendelijke en snelle bediening, je bent wel snel klaar.

What arrogant waiters! We wanted to move to another free table because my little son couldn't sit properly at the assigned table. We asked kindly if we could take the table next door and were insulted stupidly. That's it for me. Always ate there when I was in MUC. No more! People are nicer next door!

Mediocre food, bad service. (Served the wrong food.) Compulsory tips… For non-local people, there are better choices.

Everything was very consistent all around. Food not cheap but very good quality!

Food really more than average, steak, vegetables completely over salted, terrible wines, the only nice thing is the atmosphere.

Il cameriere mi ha comunicato che la mancia che avevo intenzione di dare era troppo bassa e mi sono vista costretta a lasciare il 7%. Io vivo a Monaco ma credendomi una turista ne ha certamente approfittato

Bel locale disposto su due piani e con un bel dehor sito ai piedi della cattedrale di München. Propongono piatti della cucina tipica bavarese accompagnati da ottime birre prodotte dall'omonimo monastero di Andechs, vero punto di forza. Prezzi piuttosto elevati per quanto servito; tuttavia va considerata la posizione centralissima e la qualità delle birre.

We have been at Andechser am Dom a few times before Covid and it was always a really nice dining experience, good food and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food is not good anymore, it is actually pretty bad, the portions are half the size but prices are up. Our waiter was unfriendly and slow. I am not coming back.

The environment is very nice, we liked the lighting and design very much. The waiters were very polite. The food was delicious too. I think the price is reasonable, worth the main meal in the city centre. We liked it sir, we recommend it 🫠🤍

The food itself wasn’t bad, even if the prices are way above the average. When we were still eating, the waiter asked us to move to another table with plates and glasses so he could let a group of people sit together between our table and another one nearby, even if those polite people couldn’t care less to sit divided, it was just the waiter that insisted. We at least finished our meal and had to grab our beers to another table. While drinking we got another two persons added to our table by another waiter. When it came the moment to pay the bill, the waiter asked for the tip, which I obviously firmly declined for the above explained reasons: he was visibly upset and after we paid he left without saying goodbye. Not a nice experience overall.

Really good food in a nice environment

Nice place . We ate veal shnizal one with franch frise and when with potatoes salad (more mash potatoes the salad) They were good , small a bit very expensive (30 euro per 1 )

Really a great experience all around! With a location right next to the cathedral and a nice atmosphere. The service was really outstanding. The staff are very friendly and gave us good advice. The food came very quickly and at the end we asked for feedback. We ordered beetroot couscous with feta and caramelized walnuts as a starter and the cheese spaetzle as our main course. Both were really very tasty. The couscous was also very nicely prepared. There was a bit too much pepper on the spaetzle for my taste, but it wasn't so dramatic that I would deduct a star for it. Definitely recommended in general!

Huge venue in the center of Munich. Very full, booking recommended. Not too extensive menu. We had a starter €16.90 and a first course €19.90, both of dubious quality. I asked for a zero coke (which was marked 0.3l on the menu) and they brought me a 0.2l one. I honestly don't think I will return

The food was okay but the sauce on the knuckle was too salty. Ambience looked good but it was far too humid inside. Service was bottom drawer! When we wanted something to drink we got a rude answer and when we paid he begged for a tip! Absolute impudence!

My wife and I had many wonderful meals while in Munich. The food is great and the service is always good. But this was definitely our favorite restaurant. It’s busy but not not in the way that other places were, loud but not so loud that you can’t hear the person across the table. The food was spot on and the beer was delicious.

Bel locale su due piani, in pieno centro a Monaco di fianco alla Cattedrale. Menù tipico della zona ma chiaramente turistico, tutto sommato buono. Personale simpatico e disponibile.

Unfortunately I got food poisoning from the Wagyu Burger and was knocked out for almost 3 days

One of the historic premises overlooking the cathedral square. Normally busy, we had lunch upstairs. We were impressed by the chestnut potage, the beef tartare was excellent, the käsespätzle and the obazda were normal, some of us finished with kaiserschmarren.

Colorful, cozy place, delicious food, polite staff ⭐️. General impressions are positive 👌

Very tasty, atmospheric, excellent service and super friendly staff! The owner is always on site, communicating with visitors, it is clear that everything in this place is done with great love and taste! Great wine list!

In my opinion one of the best typical restaurants in the center of Munich Top location and internal atmosphere

Very Good service, excellent location by the Dom, average food, very “light” beer 😊 (we tried the lagers in every restaurant we visited during our stay in Munich). In sum it is an Ok place located beautifully in the city center. Not very good value for money.

Excellent location, great food, great staff

Yesterday I was here for the first time and only in the outdoor area, but from what you could see the restaurant seemed very rustic. There are large umbrellas outside, which is very pleasant when the sun is beating down like it was yesterday. I ate the sweet potato and chickpea burger, very tasty. However, the shandy could have had a little more carbonation, but unfortunately it was a little low - hence only 4 stars for the prices quoted for food and drink. The staff are busy running around, very friendly and attentive.

Four of us ate here and had made reservations in advance. A reservation is definitely recommended as there is a lot going on here. The staff was very nice, but our waiter had the feeling that he was just trying to hype up something that we didn't actually want. For example, Obazda was ordered with a pretzel and he immediately wanted to write down 4 pretzels. You always had to pay close attention to what the waiter was repeating, otherwise we would have been served a lot more. We had to wait a long time for the food because the waiter forgot to pass the order on to the kitchen. Of course that can happen. He then offered everyone a schnapps, which we had to pay for ourselves, we thought it was "compensation" Well, the food was good and tasty. The atmosphere was rustic and nice, although it would certainly have been more pleasant with 2-3 fewer tables. But the space is just being used, you can understand that. We will come back, but hope for a less strenuous waiter

Service was excellent (Milan) It was a great day, the staff was super friendly despite the great stress. We'll definitely come again. Highly recommended.

Table service non-existent, we had to put our own cutlery, plates etc. they left them there at the table. And then they demand a tip. Rude waiters, all. We arrived at 9.00pm, they took our order (group of 9 people) and then told us that everything we had taken wasn't there and they could only make us a huge single dish to share because they said that the kitchen it was closed and they only had limited dishes. Furthermore, they added things to the bill that didn't exist Good food, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Unser erstes gemeinsames Familienessen nach sehr langer Zeit. Der Service war wirklich sehr gut. Unser Kellner überaus freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das Essen sehr lecker wie erwartet. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis unserer Meinung nach passend. Euro 320 für 6 Personen, d.h. Euro 53 pro Person für Essen, Getränke, Nachspeise ist absolut okay. 👍 Kommen definitiv wieder. Können Andechser nur empfehlen.

Leider ist unsere essen fast kalt serviert worden, ich habe Ente gegessen , lau warm, Kollege Suppe die kalt war, Fisch nicht durch, ich bestellte extra Knödel die kalt serviert worden ist, das war mal viel besser, daher werde ich nicht mehr kommen obwohl das mein Lieblings Restaurant war. We found ourselves there by chance. Fortunately, even though we hadn't reserved a table and it was very crowded, the people served us! Perfect in everything! Very cozy shop...kind staff and the bone I ate.....mmmmmm!❤️ Thank you so much! I hope I can manage to visit you again!🙏

Worst experience in terms of service you can find in Germany. After asking for a check from our turkish-looking waiter, he tried to add 10% tip without even asking. I usually leave a tip, but only when service is good and not when it’s demanded so aggressively (the guy just brought me a beer, the food was brought by some other lady). So I refused to tip and said him to keep the sum written on the check. This guy wasn’t very happy with that and started asking where I am from. When I told Estonia, he replied “I guess tipping is not a part of Estonian culture. Here in Germany 10% tip is a minimum”. After paying for food, the guy was giving me very unpleasant side-eyes while I was trying to finish my beer😄 This is sad cause the food was relatively OK, (Augustiner is better tho) but the bad service ruins the whole impression about the place.

Fantastic food. The sausage platter, meatballs and cabbage, and crumbled pancakes were amazing. Tim the server was so kind, had great recommendations, and deserves a raise.

This was beyond bad… the owner (boss) is the meanest person I ever met in f and b. Probably racist. He was negative and angry from the first moment. He gave us a very bad table, and when I tried to talk to him, he used bad words and literally fired us. I left without making a fuss because it could have gone very bad. Too bad, for a Christmas evening..

Good beer from Andechs, but the service is disappointing. Just want to drink some beer without food will be treated differently. Was led to a small table after waited a while and asked for sharing table in bar area (waiter in that area pretending to be blind even patted him but busy on getting tip). But the waiter in the small table area tried to forbid me sitting there, saying this is for eating not only drinking. And he empathized “this is MY TABLE”. Ok, I don’t know your stupid rule, I was led here. I said will order 3 drinks, not 1. And I’m here to be customer, not begging for anything. Just one day before Xmas eve, I drink beer but really unhappy…. Should I be appreciated at lest the waiter led me here said I can stay at the table?

Excellent food & wine. We came in to get away from the crowds in the Christmas markets & were given a fantastic glass of red wine. We then chose a veal snitzel to share & it’s the beer have ever eaten. Staff are lovely & polite even though they are very busy. Highly recommend!

Can’t comment on food because we left after 20 minutes of not being seen or given a menu after being frogmarched a deserted section where conversation goes to die. Sat on the same stools used as torture techniques when this city was under Roman control next to a couple having a domestic which was lovely. Unfortunately every table around us had been abandoned so there was a sea of dirty plates to look at. Left quickly after watching a chef march a busboy out of the door (we were sat in front of) by the scruff of the wrist. Beautiful Christmas decorations. Host asked if we were Australian in a perturbed manner? (Took offence to this). Went to Burger King.

Es war hervorragend. Trotz absolut vollem Lokal war der Service überragend und freundlich. Die Essen kamen schnell und heiß an den Tisch. Geschmacklich hervorragend. Absolut empfehlenswert 👍🏻

Typical tourist restaurant. Mainly high tables on the ground floor, quite uncomfortable. It is more comfortable on the 1st floor. The service employees are superficial and focused on the fastest service (not to say dispatch). The Kasspatzen tasted good.

Absolutely good experience. Beer very tasty. Food even better. Service is very friendly and attentive and you can hardly notice the stress due to the mass of people. The only drawback: it is very crowded and seems a bit too crowded with tables.

The restaurant was very well attended. We got a table for two. After choosing our food we were simply seated. Overall, the waiters were friendly but not cordial. The food itself was very tasty, hence the three stars.

The waiter assaults us because we didn't leave a tip "you don't tip in your country?!". Until proven otherwise in Germany, tipping is not compulsory, especially when you're served drinks without gas and the waiter isn't pleasant.

IF YOU ARE CELIAC BETTER DON'T GO. The restaurant itself is very good, the food is abundant and you are in a Bavarian food place in the heart of Munich. Until then everything is perfect. However, if you are celiac it is better to opt for another place. We went two days: The first they told us that there was no problem, that we could have knuckle, sausages, etc. All gluten free. I just told the small waitress that I just wanted to go for a swim! We waited at a mini table for ages for the waiter who also ignored us! , later the little waitress came behind and wrote to us saying that we weren't allowed to leave behind, it was impossible, I had been a regular guest for 10 years and I've already left a lot of money there, but that's not possible! Mein bayrisches Lieblings Restaurant. Tolle Lage am Dom mitten im Herzen von München. Für mich die perfekte Kombination aus urigem Bierlokal und gediegen vorrangig bayrischem Speiselokal. Essen war wie immer ganz ausgezeichnet und das Andechser Bier ist sowieso immer großartig.

Hatten über OpenTable einen Tisch für eine kleine Weihnachtsfeier gebucht. Buchung und direkter Kontakt mit dem Andechser hat gut geklappt. Service und Essen waren gut bis sehr gut. Wir haben uns gut betreut gefühlt. Klar, bei voller Buchung ist es etwas lauter, damit muss man leben. Ist aber auf jeden Fall eine Lokalität in der Innenstadt die man empfehlen kann.

Eine typische Touristenabzocke 😫😡 Wir hatten noch Bilder von den Speisen vor wenigen Jahren 😢 Schweinebraten zäh, fettig und sehnig Obstzter ein undefinierbarer, flüssiger Klecks auf dem Teller Einzig, Tom der Kellner war top 👍🏼 Nicht zu empfehlen

A “can’t miss” location if you’re in Munich. Amazing experience overall.

We had dinner with eight people on an Advent Saturday lunchtime and I was very excited. From the great ambience, the professionalism and friendliness of the service staff, and of course the food, which was simply great. Everything went great and we would love to come back...

A wonderful Bavarian restaurant with meat from their own farm. From the wonderful starter soup to the fantastic beef fillet, everything was just perfect. The service was great from the start and the prices are absolutely reasonable for this quality. I would love to come back on my next visit to Munich. Absolutely recommended.

The great Japanese writer Mori Ogai was in Munich in 1886 when he was studying in Germany as a young man, and it is said that he visited the Abbey of Andechs with his fellow international students. After touring the monastery, of course, they tasted plenty of beer brewed there. I thought I'd like to try that beer too, but on my first day in Munich, I wandered into Andex. When I noticed the coaster on the table, I couldn't help but exclaim, "It's Andex!" Mi trovavo a Monaco in per visitare la città nel periodo natalizio e mi sono trovato a passare in questo ristorante a due passi dal centro, consiglio di prenotare sempre, siamo riusciti a sederci ma il cameriere ci ha avvisato che avevamo solo 2 ore a disposizione perché poi il tavolo era prenotato. Ho preso due birre alla spina e un piatto di ortaggi e affettati, quantità non molto abbondanti ma prezzo un po’ alto rispetto alla media, occhio allo scontrino che inseriscono la mancia senza nessuna autorizzazione.

Nice and central location; nothing special

Muy buena comida. Teníamos las puntas de carne en salsa de pimienta y nudillo de cerdo. El nudillo de cerdo estaba en salsa, pero la piel todavía estaba muy crujiente. El postre de manzana especial fue tan bueno.

The atmosphere and ambiance in the restaurant is wonderful. It is obvious from the photos taken with celebrities on the walls that it is a very popular place. I stopped by for a short break. The coffee and Apfelstruder were good. The waiter was also very polite. However, when it came to paying the bill, I was forced to pay a service charge. Yes, I was forced. I do not know if it is mandatory according to the restaurant policy, but the prices were already above average. This was not nice !

The Andechser is a beautiful Place to go close to the Marienplatz and the Dom where you can get excellent bavarian food in an authentic Environment. Don’t get disappointed by the queues upfront- it’s definitely a place you want to experience when you visit Munich/Bavaria/Germany! Excellent food, a good offer of Bavarian beer, a great and friendly team (English speaking!) invites you to stay. Our choice of the day: Leberknödelsuppe, Tatar und der Wűrstelteller, covered by two Andechs 👌(beer founded in 1455!). Our three table neighbor guests decided all for the local meat burger- no pics because the plates were left entirely empty- I was not fast enough 😔

My company celebrated its Christmas party here for the second time. I think this place is very beautiful, I really like it here. I can only recommend this host.

We got this recommendation from a hotel employee and he was spot on, serving their house beer, this restaurant was all we hoped for. The service and the food were great, German fare, elevated with fresh ingredients and nice preparation. We would definitely come back and recommend it.

Food was good, but a bit low for the price. It was served pretty quickly too...was it just reheated quickly? Liquor prices are awesome. We ordered schnapps "blindly" and paid a total of almost €50 for 4 glasses of 2cl each (i.e. the entire bottle and thus ⅓ of the entire bill). No schnapps costs less than €8. Quite exaggerated...at least it would have tasted good. Staff was very nice!

Just wanted to drink something or eat a little something. One of the waiters was great. The other person isn't interested. There were no small things on the memory card either.

Simply a very good and well-run Bavarian restaurant.

Anfang November haben wir im Restaurant „Andechser am Dom“ an einem Sonntagabend fantastisch gegessen. Die Leberknödelsuppe wie auch das Obazda mit einer Brezel als Vorspeise hat uns begeistert. Die Hauptspeise - Wiener Schnitzel - war ebenfalls gut. Dazu tranken wir etwas Wein. Ganz besonders schmeckte mir der Kaiserschmarren als Nachtisch. Der Apfelstrudel meiner Begleitung war ebenfalls lecker, so wurde mir versichert. Die Bedienung war freundlich und angenehm aufmerksam. Die Toiletten waren sauber und gepflegt. Die gehobene Qualität der zubereiteten Speisen und die gute Bedienung lassen die Zeche von EUR 140.- für zwei Personen in einem akzeptablen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis erscheinen. Gerne empfehle ich das „Andechser am Dom“ als gutes Restaurant weiter!
