I had a really delicious wagyu burger. The fries were also very good. When I asked for hot sauce, they at least found Tobasco and brought it, it was better than nothing. My wife's wagyu pasta was not bad. The way her pasta was cooked was not very successful. The beers were very good. However, the attendant who placed the tables was really rude. (I am attaching the photo) He told people there was room when he wanted, and there was no room when he wanted. We observed that he turned people away even though we saw there was room. We did not like him very much. Only 1 waiter was happy and he waited for an extra tip by force. 😂 If he does this to everyone, I think the reason for happiness is tips 🤣

The food was just okay. After asking where we were from, they pressured us into paying a specific amount of service fee. The waiter even said he needed to discuss with his manager whether we were allowed to simply round up the bill instead of paying the suggested tip. Felt like a tourist trap.

Excellent beer house, right in the centre, which serves the delicious Andechs beer known for its Benedictine tradition.

Abysmal food, rude staff who ignored when asked for menu, bill. When the bill card and their terminals would not accept any of my digital cards, they started to accuse that I did not want to pay. Gave half hearted apology when I returned to pay with physical cards. Not worth the time nor money. Very disappointing.

The atmosphere was beer garden-like... the beer was okay... the waiters inside were very unfriendly and, after we'd been freezing outside at around 8 p.m., they only wanted to offer us standing room inside because they supposedly had to clear the tables, even though everyone was still sitting at them... which, of course, we didn't want. We sat down at a table and then these two corpulent waiters demonstratively stood in front of us with their backs to us!! Really nice, friendly, and respectful 👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👍🏼

The typical question: "Did you like it?" was answered honestly—and apparently unexpectedly for the employee—with a "No." The subjective explanation followed, and the response was unfriendly. So if you don't want feedback, just don't ask 😉.

Roast pork was delicious, along with freshly made sauerkaut. As white asparagus was in season, my friend ordered that. Fantastic!

The location right next to the Frauenkirche is, of course, factored in – but it's really nice, delicious, offers a wide selection of small and large dishes, and a friendly team. Oh well, and the Andechs beer alone would be worth the visit.

We've been there twice because the service is great, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is nice. The prices are reasonable, too.

The food wasn't exactly cheap. The roast pork was very tough and the taste wasn't exactly great. The cheese spaetzle was 16.50 without salad, which you had to pay extra for. The positive thing was that the staff were very friendly.

The prices are quite reasonable. The restaurant is extremely busy, even during the week; even with a reservation, we had to wait downstairs (though we were able to order drinks). The staff is very friendly and quick. The food is good, but the portions are small. Käsespätzle, for example, costs around €17-18, and a side dish (e.g., salad) has to be ordered separately (around €7). The prices on the online menu are also incorrect/outdated.

A typical Munich brewery, very busy with lots of tourists. We were lucky to get a seat, but it was very crowded. The beer tasted good and was well-tapped. The food was good, but nothing special. When it was that busy, the service was a bit slow; you sometimes had to wait a bit between beers.

Average food and not very well garnished. The waiter snatched the menu card from my hands when he took the order, in a hurry to get us out. In addition, he took a 10% tip from us when he wasn't allowed to. And to top it all off, his card terminal wasn't working and he told me that my card wasn't valid. He wanted me to pay in cash, which I refused. And my card worked with another terminal. And I wasn't alone in this. Strange!!!! In short, not very professional. Avoid.

A disgrace of a restaurant. Manager yelled in my face when I politely and camly asked for another table and walked off once I paid for my drinks. Was borderline assault and at worst unprofessional beyond belief. I have witnesses who can account for this incident. I would highly recommend everyone avoid this place at all cost.

We came for coffee and dessert, and I'm glad we did. They have very nice desserts and their coffee is amazing. They have an ice cream dessert, I definitely recommend it. It's on a very busy street, so it's crowded, but we were able to get in at noon without making an appointment. The toilets are also really clean. Although there are beautiful illuminated paintings on the ceiling downstairs, I liked the upper floor better, to be honest, because the bar is upstairs. It creates a nice atmosphere. You don't get disturbed by other conversations because of the interior decoration. They've made a garden-like area outside at the entrance, and you can sit at the tables under the umbrellas if you find a place.

Unfortunately, the service was unfriendly and very unmotivated. But the restaurant seems like a good place to have a beer.

It was very tasty! Unfortunately, it wasn't very cheap, but it was really good. The way the plates are presented here seems a bit "fine dining," but at least it tastes good. It could have been presented a bit more rustically for my taste, but we are in Munich after all 😋 The schnitzel looked very small, but ultimately, the portion with the asparagus was more than enough. The knuckle of pork was simply fantastic, crispy and juicy.

I accidentally found it and came in to try it, and it was so delicious. It seems similar to Haksen, but it was so much tastier than I expected, especially the veal chop tomahawk steak visual!! It was a recommended menu, so I highly recommend it!!! It was perfect with the potatoes and herb butter sauce that came with it. The price is cheap for a steak, but the taste is really amazing. Black beer, wheat beer? They were all delicious, and the 5% black beer was really clean and easy to drink. The server Steffen was really handsome like Bradley Cooper, but he had a good sense and was very kind!! In particular, there was absolutely no racism.

A great inn! Lovely atmosphere, amazingly cooked food! The pork knuckle was nice and crispy, the sauce was super delicious, and the presentation was truly exquisite. The Kaiserschmarrn is an absolute must! I'd love to give it 6 stars... but this one only gets 5! We had a great evening here!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to the Andechser am Dom – from the friendly welcome to the prompt service to the delicious food, everything was truly satisfying. We also enjoyed the atmosphere and felt comfortable throughout our entire stay. Our bill came to €79.70, and we deliberately rounded it up to €85 to show our appreciation for the good service. When the waiter asked for a 10% tip while paying, I clearly said "€85 please." I felt that this demonstrated great appreciation. It was all the more disappointing that the previously friendly waiter neither said goodbye nor a simple "thank you" after we paid. Unfortunately, this left a bitter aftertaste, and we left with a bad feeling. We like to tip – but not when it seems like it was taken for granted or not even noticed. Had we known that, we would have refrained from tipping. We hope that future guests will be greeted with a little more appreciation – a quick thank you or a smile would have been enough. It's a shame about what was otherwise a very pleasant evening.

This is a buy place in the evenings. Great place to get a great Andechser beer, the food is good despite being little for the buck. The service however was incredible, especially with the amount that was going on.

Everything's fine. Of course, especially on the outside, it's no longer as cool as the old location, but what can you do. Times are changing.

A roadside store that deviates from Marienplatz into a small street and faces a church or sunken plaza? No, I could see the indoor table seats, but the meter pointed me to the front seats, so I went there. As soon as I sat down, Beerbitte and Onzu said, “Duck!” lol I couldn't say "roasted duck" in German, so it was a mix of German and English, but Maître grinned and said "Good!" with a thumbs up. Did he understand? Seems lol Certainly, it was through. What arrived was a roasted half of a mallard duck, the size of a child. Oh my gosh. I surrender. I haven't been this moved since an incident in a beer hall in Prague many years ago. All I can say to Kamisan, who is staying at home, is that it's no good. sorry. No, really. Since the ``Beer Purity Ordinance'' was enacted in 1516, stipulating that only barley, hops, water, and yeast can be added to beer, it is still strictly adhered to in Germany. Beer made according to this law is not suitable for long-term storage or long-distance transportation, so there are no breweries that cover all of Germany. Therefore, the fresh beer made at breweries scattered throughout the country can be considered the true German beer. Am I the only one who thinks that German beer in Japan doesn't taste good at all?

Unfortunately very disappointed today! The beer is good as always. We ordered a Kaiserschmarren! That was the worst I've ever eaten. And the waitress didn't really seem to enjoy her work. Too bad! We usually come here every time we visit Munich!

With his friendly, personable manner, he offered us a small table and "invited" us to the very tasty meal. His recommendations were top. The food was perfectly prepared and extremely tasty. We had the suckling pig knuckle and roast beef. EVERYTHING is right here! Ambience, service AND the food. When we are in Munich again, we will definitely come back (with reservation). Thank you 👍🏻

The beer was really tasty – the dark one in particular was aromatic and pleasant to drink. Unfortunately the portions were very small, which was disappointing for the prices. The taste of the food was rather average. Not a place I'd necessarily want to return to, but it's worth a visit for a good beer.

A lively place, well-located, with what we think is the best beer in Bavaria. We had wonderful service, the soups were delicious, and best recommendation is to eat the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. Absolutely delicious!

Andechs è un monastero che produce birra da secoli, la sua birreria è proprio di fianco alla cattedrale, facile immaginare il futuro Benedetto XVI tra i suoi frequentatori. Si tratta di un tipico locale monacense, cordiale, affollato (meglio prenotare), rumoroso, il menu è tradizionale, ma vista l'epoca alla Wiener Schnitzel si possono associare gli asparagi bianchi, diffusissimi a Monaco in primavera; strudel e Kaiserschmarren (in porzione abbondante) chiudono un pasto a cui, sempre grazie alla stagione, si può associare la potente doppelbock che in Baviera si prepara a fine inverno: a mio parere la migliore di Monaco.

Amazing restaurant! Our favourite in Munich! The food that we had was very tasty and the portions were also very big! Worth the price as all the food was very tasty! We also received everything pretty fast and we spent there last than 2h! A must visit in Munich. We booked in advance, but they also have a terrace outside!

The food is delicious. Beef and schnitzel are amazing! Service is fast and they accept walk-ins. The pice is on the higher side but it is typical for the central location. I would recommend this place.

We spontaneously went to Andechser for lunch. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, especially to the children. Bread was brought for the little one while we waited for food, and small cutlery (cake fork, teaspoon) was taken into account when serving. I've never experienced that before. There are five stars for that alone. Food was very, very tasty.

Waren schon mehrfach in diesem Lokal. Gestern war aber der Wurm drin oder neues Küchenpersonal am Werk. Alles (Fleischpflanzerl, Salsiccia, Tartar) zu fad, zu wenig gewürzt. Service war sehr freundlich. Über das Preisniveau in der Münchner Innenstadt braucht man ja kein Wort verlieren.

Ich fand es sehr frech beim Betreten der Gaststätte von dem Chef darauf hingewiesen zu sein, dass wir den Tisch um 20:00 Uhr räumen müssen. Am liebsten würde ich mich umdrehen und direkt gehen. Wir haben den Tisch lange im Voraus gebucht, dann hofft man doch, in einer netten Atmosphäre ohne Hektik essen zu dürfen, zumal die Gaststätte ziemlich leer war, auch noch um 20:00 Uhr. Das Essen hat mich persönlich enttäuscht. Meine Haxe war total zäh, wahrscheinlich zu kurz gegrillt. In München habe ich es nicht erwartet. Das einzige Highlight war die sehr, sehr nette Kellnerin Michelle, die uns bedient hat. Fazit: ich werde diese Gaststätte nicht weiterempfehlen und auch nicht wieder besuchen.

Delicious beer, top service! Food is disappointing. The bun of the burger was burnt, the patty was dry and the sauce was virtually non-existent/tasteless. A strong mountain cheese wouldn't hurt the cheese spaetzle either. So they have little taste.

In the beating heart of Munich, a stone's throw from the Frauenkirche, Andechser am Dom presents itself as a traditional Bavarian inn, ideal for immersing yourself in the authentic atmosphere of the city and enjoying typical local cuisine. My colleagues and I stopped here for dinner on the occasion of the Bauma fair, and despite the large turnout due to the event, the staff welcomed us with kindness and professionalism. Dressed in traditional Bavarian clothing, the waiters add a folkloric touch to the experience which makes the environment even more evocative. The furnishings are typical and warm, with extensive use of wood, from benches to chairs, up to the decorated ceilings, in perfect Bavarian style. The menu is decidedly oriented towards meat dishes - shanks, sausages, roasts - all cooked with care and taste. However, vegetarian options are quite limited, so non-meat eaters may find less variety. The real sore point of the evening was the waiting time: we waited over an hour to receive our dishes, which inevitably affected the experience, especially considering that in the meantime our beers - although excellent - had now cooled. We understand the difficulty of managing a full venue in a period of high attendance such as during Bauma, but more efficient management of times would be desirable. Having said that, Andechser am Dom remains a recommended stop for those who want to experience a typically Bavarian dinner in a welcoming environment, enjoying well-prepared dishes served by a courteous and smiling staff. I'm removing a star for the long wait, but I still recommend the place for the authentic atmosphere, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. A true Bavarian experience in the heart of Munich.

Waiter yesterday (April 4, 2025) clearly heard me add the tip I wanted to give him. He repeated it correctly. He then added a substantially higher tip and quickly flipped over his device to accept Apple Pay, with total number facing down towards table. Clear cheating attempt, no apology when caught by me.

Excellent Bavarian food restaurant. Completely fabulous attention. The waiters are very friendly and are dressed in typical clothing of the area. We came on our first day in Munich and asked for an opinion on the typical food. The beer was very good, we ordered the sausages (not worth it as they are small for what the dish costs), the fried pork and an apple dessert.

Bayern wird im Andechser nochmal praktiziert. So stellt man sich Bayern vor und man wird nicht enttäuscht, denn die Speisen wie auch der Service sind einfach bayrisch perfekt.

Came with great expectations - left with a bad feeling. Even though we had reserved a table for two a few days in advance, we were seated in a corner without a tablecloth. Soup was lukewarm, as were both main courses. Not recommended and not worth the price. Don't go!

Classic Bavarian restaurant with timeless value. Wonderfully decorated and comfortable space on two levels overlooking the Frauenkirche. Very good food at reasonable prices for the area and staff polite, although pushy for extra orders in desserts or coffee, not uncommon in similar places to eat in Munich.

Don't go there. The service is catastrophic, 0 welcome, deceptive cuisine. To start, the kitchen presents a dish with garden vegetables which may be from the garden of Japan but not from Munich (they are frozen, it was frozen at the core) plus all the food was lukewarm/cold. Since the menu is misleading I think it deserves 1 star. Far too high a price for poor quality and insufficient quantity. The service was lousy, we had to ask twice to get a table on the main avenue and not a hidden and isolated table. Then we waited 15 minutes to get the card. The waiter was shouting at us… In short, the service was catastrophic and what's more, he wanted to force us to tip 10% at the end!!!! He lied to me by saying that it was the machine that required you to give a minimum of 10% even though I work in the restaurant business and I know that if you press X it's not necessary to tip. Afterwards he told us to still leave money for the kitchen but he STOLE €2 from us because the bill was €238, we gave €240 in a note and he didn't give us back the €2. Unacceptable and illegal.

I have made reservations for company dinners for three evenings with around 45 people each. The feedback from the international group was extremely good! For many guests, the dinner was the highlight. Some had tried Bavarian/Austrian cuisine much before and everyone was thrilled. The quality of the food was excellent and the service was top! A special greeting to the team! Tim, Micky, their manager as well as the entire service and kitchen staff. You sweetened our evening!

I still haven't come back from the Kaiserschmarrn. The rest was also very good. The servers were nice to us.

Super (family) friendly waiters and good food! Prices are rather high, but normal for Munich.

Hands down the sausage platter and roasted pork are winners! My wife and I are Asian and not used to big servings, so we couldn't finish our meal. Wish we could since we didn't want it to go to waste. It's THAT good! Also my first time to taste Sauerkraut. 😀 Service was excellent! Non-German speaking customers won't have a difficult time ordering or interacting with staff. The place does have the right amount of coziness to give a pub feel but not enough to make one feel cramped.

Very centrally located and appealing atmosphere. However, the coffee was only lukewarm and the Kaiserschmarrn didn't seem homemade. However, the taste was acceptable, although very dry as the typical vanilla sauce was missing.

Ausgezeichnetes Ambiente schön bayrisch wie man sich das vorstellt und ein bürgerlich bayrisches Essen mit guter Qualität, der Service war hervorragend. Endlich ein gscheiter Spanferkel-Haxen und nicht wie am Tag vorher ein vertrockneter 1/2 Haxen in einem anderen Lokal.
