Beautiful ambience with a view over the Danube, friendly and fast service. My partner's pasta dish was excellent. The burgers are generally not recommended. The meat in both versions I ordered was very dry. The compilation seemed listless. The fries, on the other hand, were crispy and delicious. Everything is priced in the upper segment (of course you pay for the great location)

In itself a great location and a very nice place to end the evening 😍. However, the price-performance ratio doesn't really match here... We had to wait a long time for food and drink, which is why we missed our train, although of course we planned enough time😕.

We had lunch here. Food was good - wine a bit more expensive than other places but maybe we have to pay for the view. There was only 1 server ( doing a great job) so there were delays in getting our order in and drinks served. Not a big lunch menu.

We were just eating here. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is very friendly, but they only come to drink and not eat. Goat Burger (17€) was generally not bad but the bread was dry and the composition of meat, goat cheese and guacamole was too dry for me and not worth the price (fries €5, sauce €2, not included in the price, so €24 €, is too expensive for me personally for this poor quality) Zander fillet about 23€ Fish was good, crispy, juicy, according to her mother she liked it. Roast roast 29€ According to his brother, roast roast was slightly dry, but good meat quality, fried onions were rather burnt, which shouldn't be the case with onion roast roast. Potato gratin was good. As I said, for drinking with a nice view. Not recommended for food for the price.

Very good restaurant with home cooking, but also with a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Everything was prepared very creatively and attractively. The prices are absolutely okay and the service is also impeccable. If you want a place on the terrace with a view of the Danube, you should reserve! It's quick and easy on the website...

The service staff was super attentive and always had a smile on their faces despite the heat.

Good, central location on the banks of the Danube in Passau. Just a few steps to Passau Cathedral. Friendly, modernly designed room that makes you feel comfortable. The breakfast buffet leaves almost nothing to be desired. The restaurant (breakfast is also served here) also has an excellent selection of dishes.

We were only here to eat. The food was good, the service was very friendly and the prices were attractive. Very nice guest garden with lots of cheeky sparrows.

Good... Cliche not particularly boring.

Wir wollten das Lokal einfach mal ausprobieren. Die Speisekarte war sehr übersichtlich, aber wir haben alle was gefunden (auch unsere Vegetarierin). Die Burger waren nach Aussage meiner Begleiterinnen sehr, sehr gut. Mein Hähnchengericht war auch sehr schmackhaft, aber leider nicht mehr sehr warm (ich hätte es gleich sagen sollen). Der Service hat nicht wirklich überzeugt, zwar freundlich, aber nicht aufmerksam. Die Wartezeit aufs Essen ziemlich lang, dafür schien aber alles frisch zubereitet. Fazit: Alles in allem befriedigend, aber nicht so, dass wir unbedingt nochmal hingehen wollen.

Nach einer aufwendigen Renovierung sind sehr gut ausgestattete Zimmer entstanden. Habe noch nie einen so großen Fernseher in einem Hotelzimmer gesehen. Schönes Design und alles sehr sauber. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Ein junges, freundliches Team. Das Restaurant verfügt über eine Terrasse mit Donaublick.

Great experience My dad found this place during a midday stroll in the city of Passau, looked at the menu and recommended it to the family. By the first look of it we were debating whether you are paying for the location and the view or the food. Well both, but it’s absolutely worth it. We ended up coming back three nights in a row. Let me start with the fact that you can book a table online! Not a given in Germany. The location of the restaurant is incredible. It’s in the middle of the old town just by the Danube. The view is amazing and if you are lucky the flowers by the terrace are in full bloom. The service was beyond excellent. The waitress with the Mia Wallace hair cut seriously deserves a raise. She is the most competent waitress, I met, in the past 10 years at least. Speaks perfect English, professional, pays attention, double checks the orders, and has a sense of humor. I was considering asking for her details so I may hire her one day. The cuisines are bistro style, very yummy, not overcomplicated but still modern. Love! They payed attention to my allergies, which are a challenge for me and the restaurant in the same time and even though we had a bit of miscommunication on the second night, they corrected it with a smile and an apology without question. (Again very nice staff.) The ambiance inside is warm, inviting, clean and modern. The music choice was excellent on Sunday and Monday. All in all just we are just very happy and grateful for the experience. If we are in Passau again we will be back. - The girl with the load of allergies

The restaurant was very cold, due to very bad windows. Food was great but 15 Euros for a burger and sides dishes cost extra.

Sehr schönes, modernes Hotel in der Passauer Altstadt und direkt an der Donau. Das Frühstück war inclusive und reichlich. Eier werden frisch zubereitet. Eine ganz zauberhafte Bedingung hat uns sehr nett bewirtet.

Dieses Hotel durchzieht ein moderner, puristische Schick. Junges,engagiertes Team, das uns, obwohl wir schon vormittags anreisten, freundlich empfangen und mit Kaffee versorgt hat. Das Abendessen hatte Pep und war sehr lecker.

Ich habe 20 Minuten auf das Bier gewartet. Das Brathendel war kross und innen zart. Der Kartoffelsalat war eher langweilig im Geschmack und der Feldsalat hat schon bessere Tage gesehen.

Ein Hotel-Restaurant... das klingt an sich nicht schlecht, auch das Ambiente ist bis auf kleinere Mängel (kaputte LED oder Lampen) in Ordnung. Leider kann das Essen nicht mithalten - da hilft auch der freundliche Service nicht. Ein einfacher Burger, dessen Patty so trocken ist, dass er wohl besser wieder zurück ins TK-Fach hätte wandern sollen. Dazu wurde "medium" bestellt und der Burger wurde völlig durchgegrillt und fast kalt serviert. Wirklich schade, denn die Karte ist an sich überschaubar und da sollten die wenigen Gerichte doch gut bis sehr gut sein. Preis und Leistung für das Essen mangelhaft. Die Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen. Der Service war sehr gut.

We have been for a short trip in Passau. The hotel was the perfect choice. Small but well equipped and located. Perfect for couples in the middle of the old town. The bathroom was small but well planned. Breakfast was delicious.

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit schöner Terrasse. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt, die Portionen waren für uns etwas zu klein. Wir hatten online für 6 Personen reserviert, trotzdem wurden wir mit Verwirrung und ohne ein richtiges „Guten Tag“ um 11:50 Uhr „empfangen“. Als wir wissen wollten, ob wir draußen an einem Tisch sitzen dürfen, wurde uns unfreundlich mitgeteilt, dass man es nicht weiß, weil das Restaurant noch nicht geöffnet ist. Auf der Webseite steht, dass das Restaurant um 11:30 öffnet, von daher verstehe ich diese Aussage nicht. Die Servicekraft, die uns bedient hat, war freundlich. Trotz allem haben wir uns durch den seltsamen Start nicht willkommen gefühlt und würden daher auch nicht wieder kommen bzw. das Restaurant weiterempfehlen. NACHTRAG nach Kommentar des Inhabers: An euren bisherigen Kommentaren zu schlechten Rezensionen konnte man schon sehen, dass ihr wenig kritikfähig seid und dem Kunden die Schuld bzw. Unkenntnis zuschreibt. Ich habe daher vor meiner Rezension extra einen Screenshot von den Öffnungszeiten auf eurer Website gemacht (schicke ich euch gerne). Inzwischen habt ihr sie ja zum Glück angepasst, sodass ihr eure Gäste in Zukunft hoffentlich erst ab Punkt 12 Uhr herzlich in Empfang nehmen könnt. (Eine freundliche Bitte, sich noch 10 Minuten zu gedulden, hätte es by the way auch getan.) Der unfreundliche Mitarbeiter an der Bar ist übrigens der Geschäftsführer… da scheint sich jemand in der Branche verirrt zu haben.

Man zahlt hier für die Aussicht und nicht für die Größe der Portionen oder den Geschmack des Essens. Erstere ist einmalig. Letztere sind leider nur Durchschnitt. Der Preis allerdings ist leider recht hoch, verglichen mit anderen Restaurant in der Stadt.

Hotel met verassend mooie ruime en moderne kamers met luxe afwerking die goed schoon worden gehouden. De kamers hebben uitzicht op de Donau. Eindelijk ook eens een kamer met voldoende stroompunten (4 in de kamer) en zelfs usb oplaadmogelijkheden. Het hotel ligt centraal in het centrum waardoor alle bezienswaardigheden en winkels op korte afstand zijn. Dit hotel is zeker een aanrader vanwege de mooie kamers.. Daarnaast bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Hier komen we zeker terug. Het hotel heeft een terras met uitzicht op de Donau en een restaurant met een goede kaart met vegan en vegetarische opties waar je lekker kan eten. Reserveren is wel aangeraden want het restaurant is ook populair bij de plaatselijke bevolking waardoor het vaak vol zit.

Location ✅ Aussicht ✅ Essen 🥘✅ Service ✅ Mir hat’s gut gefallen. Wir haben ein leckeres Schnitzel und ein ein Cannelloni bestellt und beide waren sehr lecker ! Wein war super 👍🏼 (Montepulciano und Primitivo). Von Dessert habe ich kein Foto gemacht aber es war ein leckeren Natur Yogurt Dessert 🍮 mit Maracuja Topping, Beeren und Nussen. Mega lecker. Am besten vorher telefonisch reservieren damit du einen Tisch draußen beim tollen Wetter bekommst.

English below Zimmer: Das Zimmer war sehr gut und sehr sauber. Allerdings verstehe ich nicht, dass die Zimmer eines Hotels dieser Kategorie keine Klimaanlage haben. Nur ein Ventilator, dessen Bildschirm um 3 Uhr morgens 29 Grad angezeigt hat. Ziemlich unerträglich. Aufgrund des Lärms ist das Öffnen des Fensters keine Option. 8/10 Touristeninformation: Ich frage an der Rezeption, ob der Touristenbus, der durch die Stadt fährt, ein Hop on-Hop off Bus ist. Also, der Bus mit dem man an wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten aussteigen kann. Die Antwort ist ja. Nachdem wir 15 Euro pro Person bezahlt haben, wann wir aussteigen möchten, sagt uns der Fahrer, dass wir nicht wieder einsteigen können, wenn wir aussteigen. Perfekt... 4/10 Frühstück: Im Allgemeinen gut. Auf jeden Fall ist es das erste Mal, dass ich ein Hotel ohne eine gute Auswahl an Brot und vor allem ohne Toaster sehe. Die ältere Kellnerin (oder Managerin) während des Frühstücks war sehr kompetent. 7/10 Abendessen: ESSEN: Gute Qualität und lecker. 8/10 DIENST: 0/10 - Ich bitte um eine Zitronenscheibe für mein Wasser. Der Kellner bringt es in der Hand und stellt es direkt im Glas. Diese Hände haben die Speisekarten, andere Gerichte, Banknoten und Münzen usw. berührt. Unglaublich. - Ich bestelle einen Burger, der sehr kalt ankommt. Ich bitte der Kellnerin darum, es ein bisschen aufzuwärmen. Inzwischen fange ich mit den Pommes zu essen an. Die Soße ist superscharf, aber sehr. Ich glaube, es war Chipotle oder so. Als die Kellnerin den Burger bringt, bitte ich sie, mir bitte noch eine Sauce zu bringen, die nicht scharf ist. Ich habe versucht, die Soße zu essen aber die war ehrlich Feuer. Sie antwortet schnell, dass die Küche bereits geschlossen ist. Entschuldigung? Aber... Du hast mir gerade den Burger gebracht... Es ist 22:15 Uhr. Ich schaue die Öffnungszeiten des Restaurants und es ist bis 22:30 Uhr. Auf jeden Fall ist es eine Soße, nicht dass sie mir eine Haxe zubereiten muss. Aber ok. Sie bietet mir nur abgepackte Mayonnaise an, mit der ich einverstanden bin. Die Mayonnaise kam nie an, war aber sehr gut in der Rechnung enthalten. Opening the window is not an option because of the noise. 8/10 Tourist Information: I ask at the front desk if the touristic bus that goes around the city is hop-on hop-off bus to get off at important landmarks. The answer is yes. After paying EUR 15 per person, when trying to get off at a stop, the driver says to us that if we get off, we can't get back on. Great... 4/10 Breakfast: In general, good. It is the first time that I see a hotel without a nice variety of bread and specially without a toaster. 7/10 Dinner: FOOD: Good quality and tasty. 8/10 SERVICE: 0/10 - I ask for a slice of lemon for my water. The waiter brings it in his hand and puts it in the glass. Those hands have touched from the menus, other dishes, notes and coins, etc. - I order a hamburger which arrives very cold. I ask to please warm it up. In the meantime, I start eating the side fries. The sauce is super spicy, I think it was chipotle. When the waitress brings the burger, I ask her to please bring me another sauce that is not spicy. She replies quickly that the kitchen is already closed. Excuse me? But… you just brought me the burger... It is 22:15. I look at the restaurant opening time and it is until 22:30. In any case, it's a sauce, not that they prepare a knuckle for me. But OK. She offers me only packaged mayonnaise what I agreed. The mayonnaise never arrived but it was very well included in the bill. Good hotel, bad service.

Ich kann nur was zum Essen sagen. Es war sehr lecker! Vegane Optionen könnten mehr sein und die Portionen für manche Preise sollten auch etwas mehr sein sonst hat alles gepasst. Die Bedienung hats gerettet. Sehr liebe und zuvorkommende Bedienung. Kommen gerne wieder falls wir in der Gegend sind.

Lekker gegeten met een mooi uitzicht

Stopped here for a beer after a long walk around Passau centre. The bar area looks very good, service was quick and efficient except for some delay at the start. They have a couple of very good local beers on tap. Afterwards we also took some fries and burgers they had on a weekly menu. Fried were standard, burger was quite good actually, better than expected and extremely juicy with excellent meat quality. Worth a visit.

We spent a few days in this hotel located in the heart of the old Passau. Rooms are silent, wide and well equipped. The bed is exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom is not very spacious but there's everything needed: in particular the hair dryer is very good. Breakfast is rich. Staff is nice and helpful, I'll come back to Paulusbogen when in Passau!

Just had a delicious vegetarian meal and a glass of house red at am Paulusbogen. Excellent service. English menu available. My meal was Home-Made cheese Spatzle (similar to gnocchi) served with roasted onions and a generous side salad. Thoroughly recommend. And of course, they also had meat dishes. Great spot with stunning views of the river. My only thought was that it lacked a little atmosphere. Perhaps some background music would have been nice.

We stopped here and sat on the terrace for drinks. A nice view of the river and castle. Dogs were allowed. The people behind us were smoking which was less than ideal.

The food here is excellent and matched by excellent service. The atmosphere is simultaneously relaxed and refined. Portions are generous without being excessively large but the prices are very fair. Far from being fast food 'though the kitchen is able to rustle up fairly complicated dishes quickly and apparently without resorting to the microwave. We'll certainly come back if we visit Passau again.

Was here for Sunday lunch and it was wonderful. Excellent food, amazing desserts! Great place for a group of friends to hang out and have a good meal and conversation. I had some really good goulash here. Best that I had in a long time.

We dined here while on our Viking River Cruise and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch. The portions are quite large with prompt service and a friendly wait staff. We had traditional German meals and they were all excellent.

We stumbled across this place following our town excursion. The restaurant was close to the Danube where our Viking ship was docked. We found the food plentiful and the service was courteous for a lunch time meal. We scored a table by the wall, good view of the river. The food and drinks came to $A55, great value, can recommend.

Restaurant with a great view over the Danube. Food was ok but very average service! Could tell staff would rather have been elsewhere! Wanted to celebrate a friends birthday and had to end up goin elsewhere, asked for desert and nobody wanted to help! Really disappointed.

We enjoyed a nice lunch on their patio overlooking the Donau. The Goulash Soup was excellent and the roast pork was very good. The location was very convenient. It’s just around the corner from Domplatz.

Right next door to Hotel Koenig and overlooking the cruise boats on the River Danube, although only a few outdoor tables achieve this! Very busy but the service was friendly and fast. The food was excellent with the usual Austrian helpings (large) so be aware. I had a reasonable size glass of Austrian Chardonnay and a Balkan dish of liver and tomatoes with a sauerkraut salad and a Ajoy sauce...delicious all for €15! I can recommend this place wholeheartedly.

After 7 hours travelling on the German motorway in poor weather we were looking for a comfortable hotel in the city centre of Passau and we found it in this Hotel. Easily found from the motorway, right in the historic centre, overlooking the river with easy and convenient parking. The bonus was the restaurant as the weather had turned foul and we did not want to search for a place to eat. The menu was varied with both Bavarian and Serb/Croatian dishes, all very reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the room price and was a comprehensive buffet which made the start of another long day bearable, Having had dinner we braved the foul weather and explored the immeadiate area of the historic town. Being close to the Christmas feative season we had to see the Market that was infront of the Basilica which was 5 minutes from the hotel. We will be back.

Rather than eating at one of the cafes on the busy sidewalk and heavily traveled street along the Danube, we opted for the quiet garden setting of this cafe attached to the Hotel Paulusborg. It can be accessed through the hotel from the aforementioned sidewalk, although we approached down the hill from the cathedral. The setting was quiet and relaxing, the patio being situated under a large tree and adjacent to a garden. I had the daily “businessman’s lunch” special for Friday was fish ( not surprising in Catholic Bavaria) served with potatoes and broccoli, preceded by a nice asperagus soup. She had a “Hawaiian” open face sandwich, ham and pineapple on two slices of bread, completely covered with melted cheese. Both were delicious. The staff was helpful (although the menu is in German, and English menu is available, but does not list the day-of-week lunch specials. ). Price was reasonable, including a soda and tea totaled 25€ with a small tip.

We stoped at the sunset for desert. Kaiserscmarn and palatchinken. Both were good and tasty. Terrace Is very good located and view Is nice.

We came across this restaurant during our stroll through the cobble stoned lanes in the old quarter of Passau. The restaurant is part of a hotel and has a big terrace overlooking the river. We were lucky to wrestle a table right next to the wall overlooking the Danube. The menu is modern German with a good selection of fish. My wife had the trout which was fresh and tasty. I went for the seasonal asparagus platter with ham. We shared one big ice cream with hot raspberry sauce. The portions are generous and offer value for money. Service was a bit rushed and could have been a tad friendlier. I guess the many tourists from the river cruise boats make the place a bit transient in character.

We got into Passau late, and so finding dinner was a challenge. So we ended up eating in their restaurant which was right next door to our hotel ... Hotel Konig. We were so glad to have a glass of wine and just sitting down....

An exceptional hotel/restaurant that was a find in Passau. Next door to our own hotel, the restaurant proved to be a real find. It offered an outstanding Balkan menu including a selection of Balkan wines. There was both indoor and outdoor dining with Danube river...

A popular restaurant with views over the Danube river. Has special menu offers most days and offers a "Winter Package" A good class restaurant with style.

The addition of Croatian (or generically Balkin) dishes livens up the menu. The prices are reasonable especially given the nice water views. The service was a bit slow but they were extremely busy, especially outside. Be advised the chef loves fennel. I like fennel, not...

We stayed at the hotel and were not treated as guests. We were seated at a table full of napkins and the service was very slow. We couldn't add the cost of the meal to our hotel bill.

We ate here ate lunch as part of a Danube River Cruise.The food was delicious, especially the spaetzle. I thoroughly enjoyed my glass of beer. We had a very nice Bavarian experience.

The food was delicious, abundant and we were fortunate to get seating overlooking the Danube. I quite enjoyed the spaetzle and goulash. Couldn't finish it the portion was so large.

I ordered the trout, which was good, even if it was a small fish. We had a group of 10 and we were handled well. The location is great, right in the middle of town with river views.
