A good brewery, just as you'd expect. Good service. I had the herring. Not oversalted like so often elsewhere. Good fried potatoes. Good beer. That's how it should be. It's busy, so you definitely need a reservation in the evening. On my second visit, I had burnt liver, which no chef should serve, hence the adjusted star rating.

We were there today (New Year's Eve) and it was more than worth it. The table was booked for us by the hotel, but something went wrong, and we weren't on the reservation list. A huge thank you to Gaby, who, despite the short notice, did everything she could to get us a table. The food was divine. Incredibly delicious, generous portions, and they even catered to children. The service was very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend eating here.

We received a very friendly welcome, and despite the restaurant being full and our unexpected arrival, they managed to find us a table. The food was okay, and the price-performance ratio was just about acceptable. The fish and chips were more like giant fish sticks; I prefer choux pastry to breading, but it was still alright. There are very few vegetarian options on the menu.

The visit was a complete success, from the online reservation to the ambiance, the food, and the friendly service. Excellent! We arrived late due to a train delay and received a call to confirm our reservation. The wait time from ordering to receiving our food was outstanding. We'll gladly return and highly recommend this brewery.

Yesterday evening, the two of us spontaneously decided to visit the Altstadtbrauhaus during peak hours – without a reservation. We were warmly welcomed and given a table. We immediately felt at home and had a super friendly employee – Gabi, who clearly loves her job! The food and drinks were also excellent. We can definitely recommend this place!

We arrived with a small group, and although there was plenty of space in the early afternoon, we were turned away with eye-rolling. The waitress recommended another restaurant, saying there would definitely be space there.

Very disappointing. The service was always attentive, but the food had nothing to do with what we ordered. For example, the fried potatoes were more like a gratin. We waited forever for service. Our table was reserved for three hours, but after two hours we were asked to leave because the next guests were waiting. So no, we won't be coming back…

We were there last night with a group of 20 people. Having avoided the restaurant a few years ago due to a bad experience with the service, I was very pleasantly surprised by the friendly, funny, and attentive waitress. Now, about the food. I was completely disappointed. The "Schweriner Bierkutschersteak," described as a rich, juicy 300g pork steak, consisted of three small, thin, very dry, and over-seasoned steaks under a mountain of charred and equally over-seasoned onions. There was no meat flavor, just marinade. It came with generic fried potatoes and coleslaw. All this for an exorbitant €22. I've decided this place is off my list.

For us, number 1 in Schwerin. 😃❤️😉 Absolutely top-notch. With such friendliness and warmth. And excellent service. Even when it's packed. A small backyard beer garden, as well as the interior, invites you to linger. 🍻🍺🍻 But above all, the delicious beer... And the delectable variety of dishes. Whether for lunch or dinner. We went there on a recommendation; they said it would be better if we made a reservation, but we went on the off-chance and got lucky – we got a table for two right away. The staff was incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was lovely, and the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend it! 🥰🥰 We've rarely eaten so well, and especially enjoyed the delicious beer! 🤭😁

There were 11 of us today. We were asked about drinks almost as soon as we sat down, and as soon as the last person arrived, we were given a memory card. Our glasses were barely empty before we were asked if we wanted anything else; we were never without a drink. The food was also delicious. It was easy to have a conversation, and the music wasn't too loud. It was a fantastic evening.

The place is exactly what you'd expect from a brewery – rustic and cozy. The beer is delicious. My schnitzel was a bit overcooked; the breading was unfortunately too crispy for my taste. I would still recommend it, though.

I arrived at 5 PM without a reservation and got a table without any problems, although I was also dining alone. To drink, I had the delicious dark Altstadtbräu beer, and to eat, the spare ribs 😍 Three racks were perfectly sufficient for me; the meat was a perfect "fall off the bone," the BBQ sauce was good and not too strong, and the coleslaw and fries weren't just for show. The direct but friendly service perfectly complemented the ambiance and made for a great dinner. The only downside today: I'm only here on a business trip, otherwise I would definitely come more often 🫤

I found it too loud. For a brewery, they offered few types of beer. My food (burger with fries) was unfortunately cold. The fries were hard and unseasoned. The service was very friendly and attentive.

I was there between 4 and 5 pm without a reservation. There were plenty of free tables, and we were immediately shown to our table. We ordered our drinks and food right away. Our drinks arrived in less than two minutes, and our food in eight. The portions were incredibly generous, but it was absolutely delicious and very well seasoned. The waitress was incredibly friendly and honest. I think the price-performance ratio is very reasonable, so you can always leave a small tip. I'll definitely be going there again. :)

The restaurant is extremely popular, and it's nearly impossible to get a table without a reservation. We were very lucky and managed to get in for dinner. The schnitzel was delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient.

We booked a short break in Schwerin and received a voucher from the hotel for the Altstadtbrauhaus (Old Town Brewery). We went there last night. Even though it was completely packed, we received very friendly and super-quick service. The food was excellent and the beer was delicious. I drank a Schweriner Hugo. Delicious! We've already booked tables for this evening. Luckily... it was even busier than yesterday, but everyone was still really friendly and quick. Thank you, and we'd love to come back.

I really need to let off some steam. It started with a table reserved for 7 people, and then an oval table for 6 was provided. Extremely uncomfortable for dining with 7 people. Then the food was served... The preparation was very greasy, the shrimp were too cold, the mashed potatoes and beef fillet were dried out, as if they had been reheated, and the beef was very tough. The service was very loud and unfriendly. She also pressured us to leave at 8 p.m. (we arrived shortly after 6 p.m. and had our meal around 6:45 p.m.). We had actually imagined a different, more relaxed evening. Conclusion: We won't be visiting this restaurant again and certainly won't recommend it to anyone. When you spend almost €250, you expect a bit of service!

Four of us had made a reservation and found a comfortable seat. Very friendly waitresses brought us delicious food and drinks. There was also a good selection for those who don't like meat: for example, the stuffed goat cheese was really good! The salads were fresh and the portions were perfectly adequate for an evening meal. Yes, everything has become more expensive. But in our opinion, the restaurateurs aren't to blame for that.

Saturday, October 11, 2025, around 4 p.m., arrived without prior reservation. Luckily, I got a very nice table for two. The staff was friendly and helpful. Since Sunday and Monday are closed, I immediately reserved a table for Tuesday through Thursday. The staff makes every effort to help even those without an appointment get a table. But when it's full, it's full. You should reserve a table on Saturday. Delicious beer, delicious food.

Four of us were here for a birthday party. We had made a reservation, which was necessary. It was quite busy. Nevertheless, the service was very nice, friendly, and attentive. They came to our table frequently, so our glasses were never completely empty. The food also arrived quickly. It was very tasty and completely reasonable in price. We had a lovely evening, had a great time, and were very well looked after. The "birthday boy" even received a small gift!

We arrived 40 minutes before our reservation time, hoping to get a table earlier. However, we were told that wasn't possible, so we went to another restaurant and had a bottle of wine for two. When we returned promptly at our reserved time, we were refused alcohol, and the staff were extremely rude and negative. Overall, a very disappointing experience—we were looking forward to a pleasant evening, but were greatly disappointed by the poor service and unprofessional treatment. We will not be returning and unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

We went there with our children in June, and the food was adequate and okay! Until the moment my son got a lactose tablet from a waitress with glasses and a stocky build! After that, we had to go to the emergency room, and it turned out they were tablets taken to reduce fatigue! That counts as assault, and we were advised to report it! Please don't let the employees give you anything like that.

Since I like to try local breweries on city trips, my first evening took me here. The beer was drinkable, but not outstanding. The brewery burger was decent and the patty well-seasoned, although a different bun would have been recommended, as it was a bit tough and dry. The friendly service kept things under control and was always attentive, despite the packed room. All in all, a good visit!

We had arranged to meet our holiday guests for dinner. I reserved a table for six that same day. We received a warm welcome and a great seat by the window. The food was plentiful, and everyone ate everything. Once again, it was delicious. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed it. We would love to come back.

Very nice brewery, with a great atmosphere and very friendly service. We had an amazing walnut burger with delicious fries and a good salad. Then I had the venison bratwurst with fried potatoes and mushrooms with onions... well, folks, you'll feel better! Unfortunately, the sausages, which certainly had a good flavor, were fried to death and therefore completely dried out. The fried potatoes were tasty, but they were swimming in fat, just like the mushrooms with onions. The sauce was unfortunately very bland; you could taste a bit of beer, but otherwise it was rather bland. Less oil in the pan would have made the food tastier, but as it is, I have to deduct two points for my meal. I hope you take the criticism seriously; the rest was great!

The service is excellent. Friendly. Courteous. They cater to the guests very well. The food was beautifully presented and the size exceeded expectations. So why the bad review? One dish came with a pepperoni so hot it made it hard to breathe. We didn't believe it at first. So we held it to our lips. They were numb. We mentioned it, as it can be dangerous. The waiter quickly addressed the issue but told us that the chef showed little interest and probably responded brusquely. The meal recommendation, schnitzel with mushrooms, must not have been good. There were slight signs even during the meal. After leaving the restaurant, I spent 1.5 hours on the toilet, eating everything possible. A trip home wasn't possible for a while. Too bad. The space and service were top-notch. The chef apparently wasn't that attentive.

The food is decent, and so is the service. It's well-connected and located right in the city center. Right next door is a parking garage with a rooftop bar and a movie theater.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food: The sauerfleisch (sauerfleisch) with bridal potatoes and salad were good. The fried potatoes with onions were especially good. It was a pain to scoop the sauerfleisch out of that glass pot; it was annoying. With the beer-coach steak, I wasn't sure whether I was eating the steak or the steak was eating me. It was dry as hell - nope - not enjoyable, not worth the money; except for the fried potatoes (very good) and the salad, which were also good.

Wow, I loved it! It was my first time at a German restaurant, and I was absolutely stuffed and super happy with the flavor. It was delicious! The restaurant's specialties are truly worth the wait. The dark beer is also excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which is unusual for a German restaurant, but I'm very happy to have such friendly staff at this restaurant.
