There are few seats outside and unfortunately they are quite close to the street, but the service is still extremely good.

The service is excellent. Friendly. Courteous. They cater to the guests very well. The food was beautifully presented and the size exceeded expectations. So why the bad review? One dish came with a pepperoni so hot it made it hard to breathe. We didn't believe it at first. So we held it to our lips. They were numb. We mentioned it, as it can be dangerous. The waiter quickly addressed the issue but told us that the chef showed little interest and probably responded brusquely. The meal recommendation, schnitzel with mushrooms, must not have been good. There were slight signs even during the meal. After leaving the restaurant, I spent 1.5 hours on the toilet, eating everything possible. A trip home wasn't possible for a while. Too bad. The space and service were top-notch. The chef apparently wasn't that attentive.

A very nice restaurant, beautifully decorated. The prices are also perfectly reasonable. We paid between €80 and €100 for two people, including a starter, main course, and dessert. The service was also excellent. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Great atmosphere and a rustic restaurant. The menu is clear and perfectly seasoned. 🤩 If you like good Mecklenburg cuisine, this is the place for you. 👍🏻 It's important to make a reservation if you want to dine spontaneously with a group of people. It's like a good hairdresser...appointments only by appointment. 🤩

The food is decent, and so is the service. It's well-connected and located right in the city center. Right next door is a parking garage with a rooftop bar and a movie theater.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food: The sauerfleisch (sauerfleisch) with bridal potatoes and salad were good. The fried potatoes with onions were especially good. It was a pain to scoop the sauerfleisch out of that glass pot; it was annoying. With the beer-coach steak, I wasn't sure whether I was eating the steak or the steak was eating me. It was dry as hell - nope - not enjoyable, not worth the money; except for the fried potatoes (very good) and the salad, which were also good.

Wow, I loved it! It was my first time at a German restaurant, and I was absolutely stuffed and super happy with the flavor. It was delicious! The restaurant's specialties are truly worth the wait. The dark beer is also excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which is unusual for a German restaurant, but I'm very happy to have such friendly staff at this restaurant.

We (6 adults) had a very nice evening at the brewery. Even though we had reserved just a few hours in advance, we had a very nice table. The service staff was very friendly, quick, and courteous. We all had something different to eat and were all very satisfied and full. The only downside: the restrooms, both the men's and women's, were dirty, smelly, and downright disgusting. Bottom line: as long as you don't go to the bathroom, we can wholeheartedly recommend the brewery.

We made a reservation for two adults, one child, and a dog. When we arrived, we were shown to our table. There we found a drinking bowl for the dog and some snacks for the child. The food was great! The service was okay, although they seemed a bit stressed that day. We'd be happy to go again.

The Stadtkrug is simply my favorite restaurant here in Schwerin. Beautifully decorated, great food, friendly service, and all in all, a truly comfortable place. And if you're interested, you can even learn a bit of history here.

They asked if we had a reservation. After saying no, we were allowed to stay for an hour, even though the place was almost empty. The same thing happened to subsequent guests—so, of course, more guests are ushered through.

As always, the food is excellent. The staff is very attentive and attentive. I'm always happy to return.

The plate size was too small, the food was crammed onto such a small plate. I had a schnitzel with mushrooms. The meat was poor quality, very stringy. I don't mind paying more, even €30, but I don't want to be annoyed when I go out to eat. So, as a Schwerin resident, I won't be coming back. ☹️

Something special. Decoration, old classic German with wood and metal. BEER of their own production, you sit and see in the background the boilers where the fermentation takes place.

Typical German restaurant. We had dinner with our family. We liked it.

Leider sehr schlecht und schade ums Geld. Habe die gebackene Kartoffel mit Sourcreme, Gemüse und Ziegenkäse bestellt. Die Kartoffel war in kleine Stücke geschnitten und in dem Gemüse mit Pelle serviert. Zudem bestand der Ziegenkäse nur aus ein paar Stücken trockener Rinde Mein Mann hatte das Schnitzel, allerdings nicht wie bestellt mit Bratkartoffeln, sondern mit Pommes und sehr sehnig Es wurde auch nicht nachgefragt, ob es uns geschmeckt hat. Beim Bezahlen, nachdem wir die halbvollen Teller haben zurückgehen lassen, haben wir gesagt, dass es uns nicht so gut geschmeckt hat. Die Antwort war, dass es Geschmackssache sei.

We visited the brewery on Saturday, and there were four of us. We were delighted with both the food and the service. On a hot day, it's definitely a plus to be able to order beer by the liter. Once again, I'd like to give a big thumbs-up to the kitchen and the staff.

A perfect start to my trip. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. They accommodated my special requests without hesitation. The dark beer and cappuccino I ordered arrived quickly. The dark beer was delicious. I felt full and looked forward to the meal. The schnitzel was well-cooked and the breading crispy. The fried potatoes were very well-cooked, garnished with a small salad and spring onions. A small chocolate mousse with vanilla sauce rounded off my lunch perfectly. The only very minor drawback was that the beer wasn't available for purchase. What a shame!

This was hands down the best schnitzel I've ever had – perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The beer was absolutely fantastic and paired so well with the meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, an amazing experience I won’t forget!

On June 14th, we went to the Altstadtbrauhaus for lunch with a total of 36 people as part of a Blue Cruise. We all felt completely at home. It was very well organized. Everyone got their food at the same time, despite having four choices to choose from, which we had ordered in advance, and despite a special request. The waiters were all very friendly, courteous, and quick. Everyone enjoyed their food. We can only recommend the Altstadtbrauhaus.

Let's face it - a traditional restaurant always has a whiff of rip-off - but the Stadtkrug restores my faith. An extremely nice crew of girls on a Friday evening. Our waitress always had an eye for us and a good joke, despite two groups in the back room. The food was very solid and reasonably priced. We'll be happy to come back - whenever we're there!

We wanted to eat there last night at 8 p.m. without a reservation. At the entrance, we were told in a very unfriendly tone that there was no food available that day. We could only have drinks. Given these conditions, we won't go there and won't recommend it to anyone.

We had 20 minutes left until our 6:00 PM reservation and had to wait outside the restaurant in the pouring rain! After dinner, the dishes remained on the table for over an hour. When we pointed this out, the staff became even more rude! If you value service, stay away!

Wir waren mit 8 Personen drei Mal im Brauhaus zu offiziellen Öffnungszeiten (zwischen 21.30 und 22.00) . Das Personal war ausgesucht unfreundlich und arbeitsunwillig. Das erste Mal war gleich ganz geschlossen, das zweite Mal kamen wir nicht mal durch die Tür und beim dritten Mal wollten die Mitarbeiter uns trotz vollen Lokals nichts verkaufen. Wir waren nicht alkoholisiert, schmutzig oder sonstwas.

Überrascht mit dem Mittagsangebot. Rein, Platz freundlich zugewiesen. Speise und Bier waren richtig gut (für den Preis war der Mittagsteller in der Menge okay). War auch alles flink. Nette Bedienung, kommen Sie wieder, sagte sie. Allein wegen ihr müsste ich noch mal wiederkommen!

We were there on May 23, 2025. The good reviews prompted our decision, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed: the service was pushy, albeit friendly, the food (burgers and schnitzel) was extremely greasy (including the fries), and the beer selection (for a city brewery) was very limited. We won't be back.

Four of us were booked in last night, and two friends spontaneously joined us. Arranging the table so that we could all fit was no problem. Thanks to the qualified and friendly service staff. The food was truly excellent, and even though the restaurant was fully booked, everything came quickly, and the noise level was very low. One small comment... The plates and containers used to serve the food were too small for the portions; you had to struggle to keep everything on them at first. Otherwise, a great restaurant that we would gladly visit again.

The table had been booked for a long time. A table for 20 people was reserved as a precaution back in January/February. The restaurant adjusted the number of people twice, the last time four days in advance. Well, now it turned out that there was one more person at very short notice. Instead of 18, there were supposed to be 19. That's when the drama began. A very short server didn't offer a friendly greeting or any other kind words after being told that we were one more person. Eye rolls, rude remarks, and disinterest. Our first thought was to find another restaurant. But with that number of people, it was probably difficult. Well, the short server wasn't seen again that evening. The table layout was a disaster. In the otherwise empty part of the restaurant, "our" table would have simply been moved sideways, and everyone could have sat at one long table. So, three people sat at a resting L, away from all the other guests. Who plans such nonsense?! The service was quick and acceptable. The only positive thing was the food. It was really good. What was worrying was that it was delivered really, really quickly. But even special requests (due to an allergy) were accommodated. That's really great. The prices are reasonable. Yes, but then around 9:30 p.m., we were kicked out. "We're closing time now." "Last chance to order." "We'll be right over and collect your payment." Honestly? There's a large, hungry and thirsty partying group, along with a few other small groups equally thirsty, and the customers have to leave? Because of the reception and the unfortunate eviction, we won't be coming back.

Wir wollten mit 4 Personen gegen 20:45 Uhr zu Abendessen. Wurden von der Kellenerin drauf hingewiesen das wir noch etwas Trinken könnten aber nichts mehr zu Essen bekommen!!! Warum steht dann Küche bis 21: 30 auf den Öffnungszeiten???

We came here spontaneously and without a reservation after walking around the castle. They found a free table for us and took seats by the window. The food was delicious and the portions were large and we were very full. Overall a very worthy place to visit👍
