A beautiful restaurant where dogs are also welcome. The staff is exceptionally friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. The food was excellent – ​​large portions, fresh, and prepared with love. We were particularly impressed by the garden: tastefully, lovingly, and with a touch of humor, it immediately makes you feel at home. Highly recommended!🙏🙌😍

We went to this wonderful restaurant for lunch. The roast pork was fresh and delicious! The gluten-free dumplings, the natural sauce, and the sauerkraut were also extremely tasty! This restaurant is a real winner for my wife, who is gluten-intolerant, and for my vegetarian daughter. All dishes are gluten- and lactose-free. The selection is fantastic and manageable, with something for everyone. That's how it should be! There's also a great drinks menu and desserts. The extremely friendly and attentive staff deserves special mention! We highly recommend it! We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Unbelievable! Normally, due to my celiac disease and allergies, I can only eat one or two dishes in restaurants, sometimes none at all. Here, the exact opposite. So many options are available that I was completely overwhelmed the first time, and the super-friendly hostess picked a dish for me. It was delicious! My highlight is the spaetzle, which is not only gluten-free, but also egg-free! I've never eaten spaetzle in a restaurant in my life. That alone is worth a visit! The gluten-free, non-alcoholic shandy is also a must for me :) The hosts are also super-friendly and know their stuff, understanding not only celiac disease, but also other allergies. The absolute best part comes last: they have gluten-free, vegan, soy-free cookies! I could cry! To find something like that, and that it tastes good and doesn't immediately crumble! Omg, I'm in food coma heaven!

In a beautiful beer garden and lovingly decorated restaurant, gluten- and lactose-free meals and drinks (!) are prepared and served by incredibly friendly and attentive staff. This is a piece of heaven on earth, especially for those with food intolerances. Everything is lovingly decorated, the food is excellent, and the selection of organic beers leaves nothing to be desired. The espresso at the end is wonderful. This definitely won't be the last time we're here!

The service was attentive, and the ambiance is absolutely inviting. However, I was unfortunately disappointed with the cheese spaetzle – rather bland in taste, hardly any cheesy, almost dry. Unfortunately, only 1 out of 10 for me. A real shame, as I was really looking forward to this dish. Nevertheless: If you're looking for a charming place with a pleasant atmosphere, you'll feel at home here. Maybe I'll just try something different from the menu next time. 😊

What a gift it is if you suffer from an intolerance like celiac disease and find a restaurant where everything is gluten-free, as a matter of course. Plus, a courteous host and a fantastic beer garden—outstanding.

Amazing gluten free food!! OMG!! I’m gluten intolerant so when I found this place I had to go the same day. Staff gives good recommendations, Weinerschnitzel and Jägerschnitzel were both amazing, drinks were also, and I had no effects from gluten so there is no cross contamination. Even had a gluten free Cicilia Bier which tasted great. Would give all five stars but due it being in Bavaria and near the water, I was constantly bothered by bugs and things dropping from the trees. This isn’t the fault of the restaurant, but that’s why the four stars for atmosphere.

A very lovingly set table for my birthday party. All of the guests enjoyed the food. We had a variety of dishes: vegetarian, vegan, and meat. Highly recommended for everyone with or without intolerances! We visited the old kitchen for the first time yesterday. One of our children has celiac disease, and it's wonderfully relaxing to be able to choose from the menu without thinking twice. Everyone enjoyed the food (we tried schnitzel with diced potatoes, salad with chicken strips, sausage salad, and spaetzle with sauce), the portions were generous, and the service was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable, the play area kept the children entertained, and sustainability is a top priority. Simone is very sweet, and our celiac child, in particular, felt so comfortable and well looked after that this certainly won't be our last visit here.

Da meine Freundin Zöliakie hat und sich in Regensburg schwer tut Lokale zu finden (bis auf wenige Italiener…) ist Simones Restaurant und ihre Kochkünste absolut unser Favorit! Jedes Gericht ist ein Gaumenschmaus und jeden Cent mehr als wert! Negative Kommentare zu Kosten kann ich absolut gar nicht nachvollziehen, wenn man mal glutenfreie Zutaten selbst kauft und sieht was diese leider mehr kosten. Ich hoffe die Alte Kuchl bleibt uns noch sehr sehr lange bestehen und wir werden sehr sehr treue Kunden bleiben ☺️

Super friendly service and an overall great selection on the menu. Unfortunately, the spinach dumplings and potato parcels were sold out that day, so I opted for the herb spaetzle pan with mushrooms. It was okay, but not quite my thing. I was surprised by the green/blue color of the spaetzle, and I would have preferred them fried. And/or perhaps a herb sauce to go with it (though, to be fair, that wasn't listed with the dish, so I wasn't expecting it). It was just missing something. Since it has "pan" in the title, I would have thought it would be fried.

A small homely restaurant. I can only recommend it. The owner is also super nice and always up for a joke. The food is fresh and homemade. I tolerated everything and was able to look forward to home cooking, despite being lactose intolerance. Addendum: We ate there again for our 2 year old and Simone said she would think of something for us. We were really happy about it, it was just cute. You are always greeted very friendly there and the waiter is always very accommodating. The food was again very tasty and the chocolate mousse was a dream. We will definitely eat there more often. __________________________________________ We eat there several times a year and now have a bit of a tradition of going to Simone's on our anniversary. As always, she put a lot of effort into the table decorations and the food was again very tasty. The Jägerschnitzel with mushrooms in a cream sauce was freshly prepared and let's be honest, how many innkeepers make something like that completely fresh and also lactose-free and gluten-free. That's why we enjoy eating there so much, because there are no unpleasant surprises and no stomach ache. We can highly recommend your homemade apple cinnamon punch to everyone. The atmosphere at Christmas is simply cozy and the atmosphere is as if you were visiting friends. So we definitely always feel very comfortable there.

Food disastrous. In our opinion, everything is ready-made food. You couldn't eat the liver dumpling soup at all. I can buy all other dishes at Aldi for a quarter of the price! Once and never again! I would prefer to give 0 stars. We cannot understand the positive reviews at all.

The venison ragout with homemade red cabbage and hazelnut spaetzle was excellent - a harmonious composition of perfectly balanced flavors and excellent preparation. The dessert, a dark chocolate mousse with homemade raspberry sauce, was also very successful, but did not fully meet the expectations of a classic dark chocolate mousse. The color tended to be gray, and the bitter note was barely noticeable in the mousse itself. Only the decorative rice cake impressed with its intense dark taste. Overall, a very enjoyable experience with small nuances that leave room for fine-tuning.

We visited the restaurant at the end of July 2023 for a late lunch with 5 people. There wasn't much going on at that time and we got a table in the shade. The landlady was very attentive to us and even chatted away when we asked how she prepared something. Food was served quickly, good portion size, very tasty and reasonably priced. The indoor restaurant seems to be a bit old, but it is very lovingly furnished. We will eat there again on our next visit to Regensburg, as the family members with celiac disease in particular enjoyed it very much and had no complaints afterwards. Kudos to the landlady and her personal commitment!! Stopped in again in 2024 and feasted without regrets! Everything is very tasty with a lot of craftsmanship and skill to conjure up tasty gluten-free dishes! A few more words about the service: we were immediately informed that one dish (gnocchi) was only available to a limited extent that day. We then agreed with the service staff, with a wink, about the “leftover” gnocchi with extra salad.

Brilliant! A quaint, cozy Bavarian restaurant with a small beer garden with a completely gluten- and lactose-free menu. There are no compromises in terms of quality or taste. Super friendly service and reasonable prices. Absolutely recommended, even for people without dietary restrictions.

Opening times from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. are advertised online. We drove from a little further away and were there at 3 p.m. The restaurant was “heat-free” from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. It's a shame that there is no information online and we have to wait so long. There were 2 people for the service. A slightly older man and a young woman. The gentleman was very taciturn and communicated with his entire body language that he wasn't in the mood. His way of dealing with guests was also limited to the bare essentials. The young woman was friendly and included all the guests at the table. Unfortunately, one of four meals was forgotten and arrived 15 minutes late. The schnitzel was good and had a decent portion. On the one hand, the presentation and the taste of the fries had potential in the dish. A few greens are enough for the pres. and the plate immediately looks like something. Only the schnitzel and fries were simply loveless. The fries were probably the worst I've ever eaten in a restaurant. In terms of taste, it was a 1 out of 5. These were simple fries without seasoning from the wholesale market. Finally, I would like to say something about the prices. The prices for the food were okay. I think it's cheeky to charge €4.60 for a 0.4 ColaMix. Even if restaurants increase their sales with drinks, I find €11.50 per liter outrageous. Conclusion: Food satisfactory, service sufficient: We would not recommend it. *********************** Thanks for responding to the feedback given. If they perceive it as a nightmare, I can only feel sorry for them. Rather, they should be grateful to be made aware of potential for improvement. However, it is clear from their entire response that they feel personally attacked. When you go to their website, you don't notice the changed opening times. Then we go to the menu and there are the regular opening times. But it was our mistake not to have studied all social media channels beforehand. After all, we came back. It was just a hint. We were the second guests in the beer garden and it had reopened 5 minutes earlier. So there was nothing going on yet. I didn't expect any small talk either. Just a friendly demeanor, a “warm welcome, nice that you are here”. I think it's not expecting too much. This is what they should expect as standard from their team. I didn't criticize the fact that the forgotten meal took another time. Something like that can happen and I told the nice young lady about it straight away. I didn't think it was bad either, but it was part of my visit to them. If they like their own fries, then so be it and that's okay too. I just gave my feedback. Your staff will certainly not be involved in calculating the prices or what they should have done with the information. So the feedback here to the owner is certainly appropriate. Conclusion on dealing with criticism. Instead of being grateful that they can do better in the future, they just justify their mistakes instead of just accepting it. The second power was mentioned positively, the taste of the schnitzel was mentioned positively, the price of the food was felt to be okay and was not criticized in any way. I can't see where night pedaling takes place here. You just notice that they don't have much experience dealing with guests and feel personally attacked when criticized. This was not the intention of my feedback. Just the wish/hint that there are still things they can do better.

Although gluten intolerance is not an issue for me and gluten-free food is often difficult for me to digest, I tolerate this cuisine very well. We go to the Alte Kuchl every now and then because people in the family who suffer from celiac disease can eat here wonderfully, with enjoyment and safely. Yes, it costs a lot, but it's worth every cent. It's very cozy inside & the small beer garden is also nice 🎁. Very centrally located, about 5 minutes walk from the main train station! We discovered the inn today by chance and I have to say that it is definitely worth a visit. The beer garden is lovingly designed with small details and is really cozy. Thanks to the bad weather, we had to move inside, but it was just as cozy and rustic there as outside. The food was delicious and you can tell that there is a lot of passion and attention to detail here. All 10 people enjoyed it really well. I can't really understand the price discussion that often takes place here, because in my opinion these are normal prices for Regensburg compared to the other inns. With the small difference that everything in the kuchl is fresh and regional (which can often be questioned in the other inns). The service was quick and friendly. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Regensburg.

It is a gluten and lactose-free Bavarian restaurant with no beer garden. Everything is very personally prepared. The landlady is as attentive as you could wish for. Very large portion. And especially a gift for allergy sufferers.

The small restaurant is hidden in a small backyard on the ground floor of a multi-story, rustic house. The beer garden invites you to linger in sunny weather and there are additional tables inside. The toilet is in the basement and can be reached on foot via the stairs. I've been going there regularly for a few months now and either hang out in the beer garden or take food to go. If you choose the latter, you will receive your food in bamboo boxes, which can also be used in the microwave. Once you order, the food is usually ready within 20-30 minutes and is ready to be devoured. Whether on site or to take away, the food is always tasty. My personal recommendation is the cordon bleu with either potato wedges or another side dish. The most important thing is: with enough lead time and consultation, the owner of this restaurant can accommodate almost any request. She is not only a person with a heart, but also tries very hard to make the food here suitable for everyone with allergies. So far there hasn't been a special request that I haven't had implemented. There are several cards in the restaurant itself - one in German, one in English and other allergy cards. In addition, the boss's extensive knowledge is reflected in the fact that there is also a menu with unusual allergy problems - this means that, for example, ingredients containing histamine are listed on the special menu. The drinks also contain a lot of gluten-free ingredients, but it is important to note that people with severe allergies should examine the beers more closely - the PPM limits are <20 and <10 ppm, but could lead to allergy reactions or discomfort. The boss is also aware of this and has made it her mission to train her employees as well. Admittedly, I asked a few more specific questions that only someone with in-depth knowledge could answer - and no question was answered "wrong." The team in this restaurant is well trained and, if necessary, the boss comes out of the kitchen without further ado and takes care of a more specific question herself. As a gluten allergy sufferer with co-allergies, I can only recommend this restaurant because you can simply eat wonderful food in a great atmosphere here can take and the boss's great manner is reflected in the food.

Friendly atmosphere, friendly and very dedicated service. Everything came quickly too. Food was delicious, selection varied. Great children's menu that goes far beyond schnitzel with fries and even offers different sizes. Nice little children's corner to play in. The only downer is the supposed rule that at the end the children are allowed to take as many candies from the jar as they can hold “no matter what mom says.” Ha. Ha. Ha. Not my sense of humor as long as no one from the service puts my children to bed afterwards. Maybe we'll come back sooner without the children.
