Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. I haven't been here in a long time and I'm disappointed. Everything used to be much tastier. The prices are very high compared to the quality of the food. I think that's the last time. The service was okay.

The view from the terrace is truly fantastic. There were two of us and we just wanted something warm to drink. Of the four drinks, all were delicious, but the wait was simply too long. The staff were unfortunately non-attentive. What a shame.

A lovely bar in the heart of Nuremberg, right on the Hauptmarkt square—ideal for outdoor seating with a great view or indoors in a cozy, modern atmosphere. 🥂 The menu offers modern dishes, and the service is very friendly and attentive. After closing time, you can head inside, but that doesn't dampen the atmosphere. Perfect for a relaxed evening in the heart of the old town.

We received excellent advice on our food and drink choices from a very friendly staff member named Fabi. Fabi, the open and patient waitress, was very friendly and accommodating, and her advice perfectly matched our tastes. In the end, everyone was happy, with full stomachs and happy.

The service was friendly, the food varied and delicious, and the price was reasonable.

After years, I spontaneously stopped in for breakfast today – the atmosphere is lovely. The waiters were all very friendly and attentive. The food was good – I actually find it a little disappointing that the rolls and pretzels are half-baked – I expect fresh rolls. I find the birds funny and not annoying!

Schnitzel is very small for 15€

I've been there often to eat schnitzel, and not only that... But to pay €15 for 100g of schnitzel with fries, my God...

Since we were just passing through, we had already booked breakfast. It was perfect. The variety was fantastic. Coffee was extra, but it's also okay. You have a direct view of the market and are sitting comfortably.

Around 10 PM on a weekday, I wandered around and stumbled upon this place almost by miracle. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but the Flammkuchen was so good I finished the whole thing in just ten minutes. The restaurant itself was spacious and a bit hectic, so ordering and paying took a little time. But with its great location and tasty food, it’s absolutely worth it!

I liked it,but would not go for second time...

My visit to Alex's was very good so far. Great atmosphere and excellent food. The atmosphere wasn't so friendly. He seemed stressed and annoyed 😒 Especially when my son ordered a drink, he pulled a face. My son is 8 years old, just a side note, and that's unnecessary.

We had booked a spot for 6 adults plus one child, but there was no room for one adult, so someone had to sit outside on the terrace in the wind. Service 0 points

A wonderful restaurant on the first floor with a terrace offering a beautiful view of the main market square and the Frauenkirche church. Lara was the waitress who looked after us. She was very friendly, smiling, courteous, and also quick and efficient! Thank you so much!! The food is simply delicious, colorful, and generous.

Alex charges a price for his place. For example: A Caesar salad is served with chicken everywhere in the world. But Alex charges extra for the chicken in the Caesar salad. Besides, the prices are very high.

All good. We sat inside as the terrace was full/too busy for us. I had delicious steak and vegetables, both perfectly cooked and good portion, he had Lasagne and was very happy. Good service, despite being inside.

Alex is always good, whether it's breakfast or dinner. It's a very nice and quiet location here in Nuremberg.

Great terrace overlooking the main market square, really good drinks, but we won't be eating there again. We ordered our burgers well-done, whereupon the waitress informed us that the burgers here always have to be cooked well, as they're frozen meat. The burgers arrived and were cooked medium, if at all. Unfortunately, that put a damper on our appetite. Our drinks were on the house for the faux pas, but we still had a bitter aftertaste.

The location is really good, but unfortunately, the rest of the experience isn't quite as impressive. The food selection is quite limited, and the service was rather average. What really annoyed me, though, was that I clearly stated that the amount of €33.10 should be rounded up to €35 and paid by card. In the end, however, €37 was debited. Whether this was a misunderstanding or intentional is hard to say—either way, it seems very unprofessional.

It's been there for years, and I keep coming back. The food tastes really good; I've tried a few different things. But honestly, my friend had the salmon lasagna today... The amount wasn't even enough for me to eat as a starter. The service is friendly and usually quick, and the prices are still OK. But paying €5.20 extra for a couple of fries with a burger... steep.

The food tastes very good and looks appealing, too. Since the place is frequented by many tourists and a supposedly trendy crowd, the prices and noise levels are unfortunately a bit high.

The food was mediocre. The burger was small, the cappuccino was bitter. After I didn't leave a tip, I didn't even get a farewell. Bottom line: good atmosphere, mediocre food. If you don't tip, you won't get a farewell :D

We were there last night and were unfortunately very disappointed with the service. The waiters were unfriendly and seemed completely overwhelmed. The cutlery was simply thrown carelessly on our table, and the food was placed in the middle without comment and without consideration of who had ordered what. We had to wait a full 15 minutes to pay, while other guests who wanted to pay after us were given priority. Our calls were ignored, and only after one of us stood up did we receive any attention. When we then pointed out the poor service, the waitress reacted unprofessionally and actually told us to "stop talking to her in such an antisocial manner" – an absolute no-no when dealing with guests.

Ask for the receipt, because they are going to charge you more than it is. The lady charged me 3,40€ for a coffee that is 2,70€, not cool

Place is good but today some people thinks it is a concert hall. And disturbed us to be quiet that’s ridicoulous. That’s why we left the place.They had just a coffee and occupied all the tables. If they want to hear clearly then they should go front of the stage. Staff must warn them they are in a cafe not a concert hall!

Very nice after the renovation, good food, good drinks

Unfortunately, a flop!! €30 for a cheeseburger with fries and water – and the meat was a disgrace: tough, full of gristle, fatty, and tasteless. It tasted like it had been fried in old fish oil. Even a cheap sausage stand delivers better quality. Never again.

Until the recent renovation, it was a stylish hotspot with a great atmosphere, super ambiance, and very friendly service... now there's nothing left of that! A real mistake, in my opinion! If you like "diner style," this is the place for you. I'm lost 👋

Service is very good. Women's restrooms aren't clean enough. The food is actually rather average and really nothing to hang out over. The drinks are okay, although it's unusual that they change in presentation and taste every time. The location is, of course, great.

Eure Renovierung: Gute Güte, wie kann man ein großzügiges Restaurant mit schönem und durchgängigen Farbkonzept zu einen solchen beliebigen "Diner" verhunzen mit "eingeschalten" Sitzecken?? Die Deko ist trödelmarktmäßig: viel zu viel, viel zu unruhig mit zu vielen Farben. Und was bitte hat den Innenarchitekten bewegt, auf einer Seite des Restaurants alle Fenster abzukleben, so dass man wie in einem Fischtank sitzt und den Markt nicht mehr sieht?? Die Theke schaut aus wie in einem Billigfastfoodladen. Die dunkelgrünen Dschungeltapeten erschlagen ein fast noch obendrein. Für uns hat sich eines unserer bis dato Lieblingsrestaurants ERLEDIGT.

We have been going to Alex very often for years. We never gave a rating, we always showed our appreciation with a good tip and a personal “thank you”. Unfortunately, not everything has been right for some time now. The renovation was good and we think the concept really fits. It's a shame that the toilets have only received a facelift, the flushes still don't work and things always look really bad there. The food is always good to very good. The drinks too, even if the prices have now become more than sporty and sometimes there is too much ice in the glass. What is no longer possible is the staff. The closure phase wasn't good for them. We've been there three times since it reopened and it was endless. Not much going on, lots of staff, only having private conversations, every course is one too many, arguments, bitching, guests are treated cheekily and condescendingly and simply skillfully ignored “because you don't feel like meeting them”. I have been working in the catering industry for years. Yes, the job isn't easy and some of the guests aren't either - but behavior like that is an absolute no-go, even for me. We sat on the terrace and heard everything loudly. This is not an isolated case either. Very few people laugh there, and some people probably don't enjoy it either - it seems aloof. We're just not used to Alex like that. Regrettable. We really enjoyed being there. Probably not as often from now on. I'd rather leave my money where it won't be a "torture" for me as a guest.

Eigentlich hatte ich mir geschworen, diesen Laden nie wieder zu betreten. Nach der Renovierung wuchs jedoch die Neugierde und ich versuchte es nochmals. Einen Punkt gibt es für das freundliche Personal. Einen Punkt für die gelungene Retro-Renovierung. Einen Punkt für das Essen. Zwei Punktabzüge für die Verwendung von Convenince-Food Bestandteile (Fleisch war wirklich nicht dem Preis angemessen) und die Preise. Insgesamt bekommt man für sein Geld zu wenig. Teuer und Durchschnittlich also. Ebenso gibt es alles querbeet. Von Curry über Pasta bis hin zu Burger. Was soll der Unfug? Die Konzentration auf einige gute und vor allem wiedererkennbare Gerichte (weswegen man ins Alex eben gehen würde), fehlt komplett. Somit überzeugt das Konzept nicht wirklich. Der Weg geht mehr hin zu Touristenfalle. Schade weil der Laden Potential HÄTTE.

I was there today for breakfast with my best friend and I have to say the service was really nice, very humorous, funny and in the mood to have fun and the atmosphere was also very pleasant. A big thank you to Jeferson😄🤗 But the breakfast buffet also had something for everyone, so a very large selection of variations from savory to something sweet. Everyone will find what they are looking for and for the price you can't complain. We will definitely come back. So a good recommendation to the ALEX. 👍🏻

We discovered Alex by chance. A beautiful gastro with a wonderful view. The food was super delicious. The staff very friendly and accommodating. We will happily recommend Alex and visit again.

I have to say that I don't like the new look after the renovation at all. Unfortunately, Alex has lost its cozy atmosphere due to the bright lights and colors. The salad, which used to always be my favorite, this time tasted like a ready-made salad mix and wasn't fresh. I wonder if the quality has decreased with the renovation? However, the employees are, as always, super nice and helpful!

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with the drinks. In cocktails and long drinks, add ice to the top of the glass and after two steeps the glass is empty. This is how you make money with drinks...We definitely won't be leaving our money here again!

We came to have something because my brother insisted that it's coffee. I don't consider it to be a coffee but everything was very delicious. As a curious detail, the waiter looked like Maccully Culkin's brother (I don't know if it's spelled that way but he's the baby from Home Alone). Very nice too. We will surely return to have coffee

We went to Alex for breakfast and were allowed to take our dog with us. There is plenty of space between the tables and you won't be disturbed by your neighbors. There are branches with much more limited space. The buffet was huge and was regularly checked and filled by the employees. Someone kept coming by the table and asking in a friendly manner. The price was right too. Overall, we felt very comfortable here and from what the other guests observed, they did too :-).

My feel-good place in Nuremberg! Heard they're remodeling soon! I'm very excited about the result!

A shop for all hours of the day. In the morning it has a buffet where you can eat as much as you want for €15 and the SC for €20. It is open until 12 at night which is rare for Germany.

Very rude staff, laughing at us because we asked how much time we had to wait.Avoid at all costs.

1.a. The burger was not fresh at all and was overcooked I couldn't eat it all. 1.b.The main course Piccata Milanese the chicken dry and generally tasteless 2. (Wrong order) I ordered regular fries with mayonnaise and received sweet potatoes with ketchup. 3. I did not receive a receipt. 4. In general, the food was bland 5. The atmosphere is nice, I would recommend you to go only for drinks. The food is not worth it!

Mice play under the tables as if they were pets

I don't know what the requirements are at ALEX to hire a suitable bartender, but apparently the requirements are pretty low if the bartender can mess up a cocktail like that. On January 3rd, my husband and I visited the ALEX restaurant. Since my husband had several years of bartending experience, he ordered a New York Sour (cocktail). If you look at the pictures and the recipe you can see that something went wrong in the cocktail that the bartender mixed for us. A poor or completely missing layering (as it should actually be), and the taste is not compatible with other restaurants or real recipes. After we complained and returned the cocktail because everything went wrong even visually (see the picture and compare the picture on the restaurant menu alone), our waitress came with the statement: “So the bartender and the shift manager said that it was with us “If it’s mixed like that, you obviously don’t like it” I couldn't believe what I was hearing, in my opinion it's very disrespectful to make such statements to the guest. Luckily my husband was allowed to choose something new, but in my opinion such unfriendly treatment of the guests is unacceptable. It's human to make a mistake and not everyone gets all the drinks perfect right away, but you also have to be able to learn, which you apparently aren't here. You would expect better for the price, but then you would rather go somewhere else where it would be justified. Well, once visited and that's enough after such poor treatment.
