Whenever im in town i always go to Alex, the food is just delicious and the portions are good for the price. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. I recommend the rib-eye steak with veggies and a portion of fries. The location is easily accessible and they have seats for children as well. If u want a good meal/dinner with the service of a high end restaurant but with good prices, this is the place to go.

We were there yesterday and had a table reservation. Upon arrival, we stood at the entrance for five minutes while the waiters ignored us. We politely approached them and explained our reservation. The waiter then crossed us off the list, since we were there, and told us in a normal but unfriendly tone where we should sit. After sitting and waiting for 40 minutes (they hadn't even taken our drink order yet), other guests nearby, including those who arrived later, were being served. We often go to Alex restaurants in Solingen and Hamburg, and the service there has always been perfect. We eventually got up and left. Even that didn't seem to bother anyone. I found this experience incredibly disappointing, as I've always had positive experiences with Alex restaurants. It's a shame.

Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended, really! It gets busier from 10 a.m. onwards, so make a reservation just in case. The value for money is top-notch. Our server was very kind and very accommodating. We'll be back 🤍 The restrooms are clean and there are more than just two, which is great when it's busier. There's a lot to choose from at the buffet, and the food tastes very fresh and delicious. The coffee is strong, but super good.

The scrambled eggs aren't to everyone's taste; they were probably made with whole eggs, which is why they were a bit mushy. The service could be a bit better, but it's still good enough for a 4-star rating.

The restaurant near Düsseldorf's Kö is really well located – centrally located, yet pleasantly quiet. We had made a reservation in advance, which turned out to be unnecessary, as several tables were still available. Our initial impression of the service was a bit surly, almost aloof, but as the evening progressed, this changed significantly: The service became friendlier and more attentive, which made the evening very pleasant. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant for a relaxing evening in the city center – good food, decent service, and a great location.

We always enjoy going here for the breakfast buffet or brunch, but unfortunately, this is the second time I've noticed how absolutely filthy and smelly the restrooms are. It's a complete disgrace, and everything from the walls to the toilet brush and fixtures is absolutely filthy. Some are covered in feces. It's basically unusable. It's a shame, because otherwise the service and the overall atmosphere are excellent. It would be nice if the hygiene improved.

First and foremost: The team is very attentive, helpful, friendly, prompt, and patient with children. That's why we enjoy coming here every now and then. However, the food and quality have unfortunately declined. This may particularly apply to my teriyaki salmon bowl. I was here a few months ago and gave the same feedback... unfortunately, the bowl looked just as disappointing this time. The poor salmon was completely shredded, the beets were almost nonexistent or in small pieces, and the lamb's lettuce and mint were completely wilted. When a picture of a dish is on the menu, it naturally creates expectations and anticipation. Unfortunately, the bowl didn't live up to that at all. I ate most of it so as not to waste the food, but it's a feast for the eyes, and the taste lived up to the visual impression. We would appreciate any improvements and suggestions for the kitchen!

A great place to either start or comfortably end a visit to Düsseldorf. Excellent public transport connections, with stops within a 3-minute walk, and those arriving by car have access to a spacious underground parking garage beneath the restaurant. There are even plenty of charging stations for electric cars. Kö and Schadowstrasse are practically around the corner, and Carlsmarkt is also nearby, as is the Old Town. The food and drinks are very good. The prices are perfectly reasonable for Düsseldorf. So come by, it's worth it!

We've already visited ALEX in Hamburg, Aachen, and Mainz, and this is our second visit here in Düsseldorf. It's always worth it: a great location, a delicious menu, and a great selection of drinks.

We went there last night to have something warm to eat after visiting the trade fair. The service was first-class, super friendly and attentive. The food was hot, prepared quickly, and tasted absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back when we're in Düsseldorf next year.

We were there for brunch on Sunday morning. Luckily, we reserved a table in advance, as Lokas is very busy. The food selection is very promising, with something for everyone. There's nothing to complain about in terms of taste. The price for Sunday brunch at €22.50 is fair in my opinion. The only criticism is the service, as they weren't always able to keep up with clearing the dishes, and we had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks. Nevertheless, we'll be back. 😊

I'd actually had relatively good experiences up until this Friday afternoon. I clearly ordered the pasta triangolo (for the first time). I also received similar-looking pasta. I only realized it was different after the waiter had left. The bad thing was that I'm a vegetarian and got pasta with relatively large pieces of meat. So I only ate a few noodles. I called the waiter, I think he was Turkish, the next time he was outside to let me know, but he simply replied with a snappy "I'll be right there." Since my break was over, I went inside and explained the situation, whereupon he neither apologized nor showed any understanding that it's pretty terrible for vegetarians to accidentally eat meat. On the contrary, he complained about why I hadn't let him know immediately (which I wanted to do) and demanded €13 off the original €17, which is absolutely ridiculous considering I could barely eat any of it and was actually a regular customer. Just like the fact that he still didn't apologize for typing the wrong dish into his device and, as a customer, he was still audible to his colleagues as I was leaving. Someone just doesn't enjoy their job and is completely out of place there. That was the worst customer service and ridiculous. Sorry, Alex, unfortunately there's no longer an option for vegetarians.

Paid almost €60 for a substandard breakfast for two people! For that price, the selection and quality were absolutely outrageous! Barely any fresh fruit and vegetables, some of them reheated leftovers from the day before... 👎🏼

Excellent value for money, coupled with a fantastic all-you-can-eat brunch buffet, which has become so popular and famous that you should make a reservation in advance to ensure you get a seat. Lunch consists of three courses: starter, main course, and dessert. The price is reasonable at €10.50, and the food is delicious and of very high quality. I always enjoy treating myself to a little break, especially for lunch between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., for the breakfast buffet between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., or for the Sunday and public holiday brunch between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience yesterday. We waited a very long time for our food. Guests who ordered 15 minutes after us ate before us. The cutlery was carelessly placed on the table as we walked by. The veggie burger was delicious but extremely dry, so that both the bun and the patty crumbled into crumbs on the fork. When I was asked during clearing if I enjoyed my meal, I answered honestly. However, the server left our table before I could finish my sentence. If there isn't genuine interest, the question shouldn't be asked. We wouldn't eat at this restaurant again.

I ordered an iced Americano, but unfortunately, I received a lukewarm coffee in a hot cup. When I asked the server about it, he simply said, "That's just how it is with this kind of coffee," which was quite disrespectful and made me look stupid. The ice cream I ordered also didn't match the description; important ingredients were missing, and it was obvious that it had been sitting for a long time. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I expected much more.

You can have a pretty good breakfast here and sit comfortably. Yesterday, however, I was very disappointed because we had practically finished the buffet breakfast before we were even asked what we wanted to drink. If the place had been full, I would have completely understood. However, the place was still pretty empty because we were there early. People were taking payments, clearing away, and cleaning up right next to us. However, no one made eye contact with us, or at least we were unable to do so. When I then overheard the team at the buffet discussing how they wanted to go and have a smoke together, I was very disappointed. So I ate breakfast thirsty. It's a real shame when service goes so badly wrong.

Whenever we visit Düsseldorf, we always come here on Sunday mornings for brunch and drinks. Both the buffet selection and the drinks are fantastic. The service is always adequate and super friendly! We'd go back anytime!

Gorgeous burgers brilliant staff

Breakfast was delicious, and the selection was very good, although not huge. Nevertheless, we would go back. The pesto in the tomato-mozzarella version was very tasty, as was the fruit salad, which didn't have any added sweetener.

A truly great location in the heart of the city. We ended up here quite by chance while waiting for a pair of pants to be fitted. This way, we were able to try and enjoy the food. Next time we visit, we'll definitely try the breakfast buffet.

We had a fantastic dinner with incredibly tasty burgers. My companion was also enthusiastic about the vegetarian dishes. The atmosphere was very pleasant. By the way, on Sundays you can park for free on the Kö.

Unfortunately the food was rather poor. The burgers were more standard than appropriate to the price. In general, the price/performance ratio is not right here. In addition, there is unfortunately very poor service; you often have to wait 20-30 minutes for cocktails. Orders are only delivered incomplete and, last but not least, attempts are made to cheat the billing at the end. Happy hour stated on the menu from 8-11 p.m. - the cocktail I ordered at 8 p.m. and 41 seconds shouldn't be in happy hour because it wouldn't start until 8 p.m. and 1 minute. Unfortunately overall not recommended.

This evening we celebrated a friend's birthday at "Alex" and ordered cocktails just in time for the happy hour (8-11 p.m.) indicated on the menu. Unfortunately, the drinks in question were charged in full when billing towards the end of the evening with the explanation that we had ordered at 8:00:41 p.m. (twenty p.m. and 41 seconds). Unfortunately, when we asked to clarify this error, we were cheekily replied with the justification that "the menu has been around for over 25 years" without any effort being made to find a solution. If we hadn't had to wait for each order, which took 20-30 minutes to deliver a drink with a moderate number of guests, in addition to the waiters missing every second order, I might have refrained from writing the review, but the bottom line was that the service was unfortunately subpar. Unfortunately I cannot recommend it.

We went to this restaurant for the second time today. We reserved a table in advance and arrived at the restaurant around 6:40 p.m. The service was initially very friendly. Unfortunately the food order was a bit mixed up, but it wasn't a serious mistake and it was relatively busy for a Saturday evening. In addition, you have to wait a relatively long time for the food and drinks. The starter we ordered also came after the main course. According to the menu, happy hour starts at 8 p.m. and lasts until 11 p.m., and the cocktails cost less here. We finished eating at 8pm sharp and ordered cocktails at 8pm sharp. When we wanted to pay, the service wanted to charge us full price for almost all cocktails. We then pointed out that these were ordered during happy hour and so this couldn't be the case. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't react very friendly and started arguing with us. He pointed out to us that, for example, a cocktail was ordered at 8:00 p.m. and 40 seconds and happy hour wouldn't start until 8:01 p.m. When we said that the menu said “from 8 p.m.,” the only further discussion was that it would only apply from 8:01 p.m. We then asked to change the map so that we could see something like that, but this was only laughed at and denied. Unfortunately, I find this behavior very customer-unfriendly and we will no longer come to this restaurant.

I think that Alex has slacked off. Quality and selection is no longer what it was. I was there today for breakfast, which is served until 12 p.m. At 11.45 a.m. I asked politely whether more pancakes would be added. The service person said yes. Unfortunately the buffet was cleared away without me getting what I wanted. I really don't think it's ok. Otherwise the buffet wasn't particularly good either. No fish at all, egg dishes not really warm… That used to be better. I won't have breakfast there anymore.

We went to ALEX Düsseldorf for brunch and the buffet was really great! Large selection, sometimes something different, and everything was super tasty. The decoration is modern and cozy – you feel comfortable there. Unfortunately, the table was far too small for three adults, which was really annoying while eating. Even more unpleasant: There was no toilet paper in the toilet and it didn't really smell fresh. Something like that shouldn't happen. Nevertheless: The food and atmosphere were convincing - with small improvements it would easily be 5 stars!

Everything was good except the waiter with curls and a beard. Disrespectful jokes and simply took a tip of almost €7 without saying so beforehand. In the end I got the whole tip back... on principle.

We were there with a group of about 20 people and ate from the breakfast buffet. This is extremely diverse, there is something suitable for everyone, including vegetarians. The location not far from Königsallee is also great and it was surprisingly very inexpensive. We had a good time there, a clear recommendation from me.

Really great restaurant with a very large selection of food and drinks, there really is something for everyone! I can especially recommend the Crispy Chicken Bowl and I like that they have classics like Aperol or Hugo in an alcohol-free but just as tasty version.

I had dinner at this restaurant after a long day at work and it was a lovely discover. The place is very nice and there was not a huge crowd, but it was a Tuesday so I guess during the weekends it might get busier. I tried their Schnitzel and it was cripsy and super tasty.

The Alex in Düsseldorf is like all other restaurants in this chain: you shouldn't expect food like in great restaurants, but everything is still tasty and good. The two of us were there for brunch on Sunday. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very attentive when it came to clearing the table and taking orders. We put glasses and cutlery on the edge of the table several times and they only took it away after a long time and walking past several times. The waiters didn't even ask if we wanted something more to drink, and all of this in an uncrowded place. The selection of dishes at the buffet was really great, only the desserts were all “tetra pack pudding” and not that good. But value for money is absolutely right! Absolute no-go: we took the couscous salad and both said straight away that it smelled strange and was no longer good. We tried both and it was so bad we spit it into the napkins. We told the waitress this and she said she would pass it on. The salad then sat there for a full two hours until the buffet was dismantled. When we asked the waitress about it again while paying, she said that in the kitchen they simply said the salad was just like that, it wasn't tasty and they knew that. We were at a loss for words.
