A very warm welcome. The food was mostly OK, but with a small "but." Otherwise, the service was competent and Italian-style.

Unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant 'Al Dente' was a very disappointing experience. The lady who greeted us was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the evening was marred by the waitress. He seemed very grumpy, and his excessively selective friendliness toward some guests unfortunately spoiled the overall impression. The meal itself was also not a highlight and did not offer good value for money. The quality of the dishes did not meet our expectations, and the price was clearly too high.

We ended up here today based on the Google review. Unfortunately, it was a bit too noisy. The steak was very good, but it would have been nicer if the salad had been served separately. I found the vitello tonnato to be too expensive for the portion size. The lasagna was good, but it lacked that certain something, and after I bit into a bay leaf, my hunger disappeared. I pointed this out, and then we were only given the dessert menu. The penne with salmon was great. It's a shame, actually; I was hoping for more.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The food was a disappointment. The appetizer selection consisted entirely of ready-made products from a jar – completely unreasonable for €21.50. Overall, the prices are very high and disproportionate to the quality. The lady served us was friendly, but the manager seemed very grumpy – no sign of Italian hospitality. The steak was tough and the quality of the meat was poor. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Al Dente on Norderney is a small, stylishly decorated restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Italian dishes. It's run by a friendly couple from Sardinia and Apulia who serve their guests with great warmth. We had pinsa and lasagna from the daily specials. The latter, in particular, reminded me a lot of the classic lasagna you'd get from an Italian nonna—truly excellent! But the bucatini amatriciana and pinsa were also extremely delicious. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation!

Really good, I can only recommend it!

This morning we had to leave our vacation spot and were waiting at the bus stop right next to this restaurant. The restaurant was still closed (it doesn't open until the evening), and we briefly moved a chair to the side so our 90-year-old grandmother could rest during the 30-minute wait. Before 10:00 a.m., the owners approached us aggressively and without a word of German, demanding repeatedly (3-4 times in a short period of time) that we put the chair back in time – which we would, of course, have done before leaving. Instead of showing understanding, they then demonstratively played very loud Italian music over the loudspeakers, apparently to drive us away. We found this behavior rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary – especially when dealing with older people. Based on this experience, we would not recommend this restaurant at all.

A superb restaurant. It's run by a super-friendly couple who clearly enjoy their work. The food is incredibly delicious and highly recommended. In addition to the regular menu, there's also a daily specials menu with several dishes. The waiter's aperitif recommendations are definitely worth trying.

The worst service in 30 years on Norderney, and unfortunately, the food was also bad. Then the young lady welcomed us and was very nice and friendly. Then the boss seemed to take over the 'service.' When he asked us after 30 minutes what we wanted to drink, the table next to us, who arrived after us, already had their appetizers. He poured water for everyone and chatted with the table next to us. We should have left then, because it didn't get any better. The homemade ravioli came from a fresh-cut package with canned tomatoes. The fillet with Gorgonzola spinach was definitely not a fillet; it was cooked thoroughly the first time, which can happen when you put the meat in 1 cm strips on the contact grill. It was swimming in Iglo creamed spinach, and the weight wasn't right either. The linguine gamberoni and the penne al salmone had onions as their main ingredient. Unfortunately, it was a rip-off and unfriendly to boot. What a shame.

We went there because of the good reviews. Nice restaurant, small and cozy. The food deserves a big deduction. We received four slices of dry baguette for four people. I ordered a sea bream, but the portion was very modest, and the sea bream itself was definitely not a highlight. The side salad was dry with a few splashes of balsamic vinegar. All in all, not recommended.

Portionen sind überschaubar! Hatte mir ein Steak bestellt 220gr. über 30€ und große Erwartungen, ich wurde bitterlich enttäuscht! Das Steak war zäh und nur zu 2/3 essbar der Rest war selbst mit dem Messer nicht zu bezwingen! Meine Partnerin hatte Penne Al salmone bestellt und eigendlich ein paar Lachsstreifen erwartet, es war lediglich eine Lachs Soße sowie eine Portion für Kinder, könnte man sagen. Der auf das Steak angesprochene Koch zeigte keine sonderliche Reaktion und bot mir noch ein paar Nudeln an, was ich aber ablehnte. Uns sieht das Al Dente nicht mehr!

Staek tried it and fell for it! If a Staek costs over 30€ you would like to distort it completely, unfortunately this was not possible 1/3 could not be conquered with the knife! It's a shame, otherwise it's a nice place.

Norderney und Al Dente sind für uns seit Jahren eine Einheit - untrennbar! Vom Service über die vielfältigen Speisen passt einfach alles! Empfehlung? Eindeutig ja! Probieren Sie es doch einfach einmal aus! Es lohnt sich!

Awful! By far the worst Italian restaurant I've ever been to. The portions were very small, the salmon could only be guessed at in the pasta and was actually not there. The taste was terribly bad (sauce watered down and not seasoned). The waitress was trying hard, the manager was grumpy and in a bad mood and very eager to discuss things. After a long, destructive conversation, we were expelled from the restaurant.

Es war eher mittelmäßig. Frischer Fisch kam keine 10 Minuten nach der Bestellung. Sehr ungewöhnlich. Qualität war den relativ hohen Preis nicht wert. Alle übrigen besuchten Restaurants waren wesentlich besser.

If you're looking for the best Italian food in New York, you've come to the right place. Handmade, not frozen or anything like that.

We ate there last night, a starter plate for two, a saltimbocca and sea bass. Two Prosecco beforehand and two glasses of white wine with the meal. The starter plate consisted of ready-made starters from a jar with a clear vinegar taste, plus mortadella and salami, nothing homemade. The saltimbocca and the sea bass were okay and tasted good. The bill came to €115 including tip. Overall overpriced and not recommended due to the starter quality.

Very good Italian food, fresh pasta. The tiramisu and panna cotta are also highly recommended. Great and attentive service!

Ein sehr nettes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Restaurant - fast etwas unscheinbar und nicht ganz im Zentrum, aber sehr gut ! Eine Familie aus Sizilien bzw.Apullien sorgt für eine authentische italienische Küche und einen hervorragenden Service. Wir waren im vollen Umfang zufrieden und werden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt wieder dorthin gehen.

Angenehme Atmosphäre, guter freundlicher Service. Speisen und Getränke von guter Qualität und in einem vernünftigen Preis / Leistungsverhältnis. verglichen mit vielen anderen Restaurants in den "Hauptstraßen" eher günstig. Außerhalb der Saison konnte man auch ohne Reservierung vorbei kommen. Al Dente ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

AGAIN AND AGAIN!!! That was the best evening for us here on the island… Such great food, team and ambience! A family-run business where we even got to meet the chef personally at the table. Five stars are actually not enough, this restaurant deserves much more attention.

Die letzten Jahre hatten wir uns immer vorgenommen mal dort hinzugehen. Das Restaurant , das es seit 2015 gibt, liegt etwas abseits im gleichen Gebäude wo früher „Tante Jens“ war. Es war ein Erlebnis . Gemütliche, kleine Räumlichkeit . Sehr freundliche Bedienung durch die Inhaberin , sehr leckeres Essen ( Tagliatelle mit Steinpilzen und Rinderfiletstreifen bzw. Cnocchi - schwarzer Trüffel und Ziegenkäse - safran Creme ) vorher „ Gruß aus der Küche „ Brot mit Tunfischcreme. Hinterher einen Grappa aufs Haus. Bei den Nudeln gabs ohne Aufforderung Parmesan dazu. Was sonst bei den Italienern der Insel nur mit Berechnung und nach Aufforderung erfolgt. ( Z.b. bei Cornelius kostet der Knoblauch auf einer „Pizza mit Meeresfrüchten und Knoblauch „ 0,50 € extra ) Preis / Leistung : für Norderney ok, wer es preiswerter will , oder auch eine Pizza die es ja hier nicht gibt, sollte nicht zum Italiener sondern in eine Pizzeria ( Z.b. Sergio ) gehen. Dort ist es aber nicht so ansprechend und auch viel lauter .

We've always wanted to go there for the last few years. The restaurant, which has been around since 2015, is located a little away in the same building where “Aunt Jens” used to be. It was an experience. Cozy, small space. Very friendly service by the owner, very tasty food (tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and strips of beef fillet or cnocchi - black truffle and goat cheese - saffron cream) beforehand: "Greetings from the kitchen" bread with tuna cream. A grappa on the house afterwards. Parmesan was added to the pasta without being asked. What the Italians on the island usually do only with calculation and upon request. (E.g. at Cornelius the garlic on a “pizza with seafood and garlic” costs €0.50 extra) Price/performance: ok for Norderney, if you want something cheaper, or even a pizza that isn't available here, you shouldn't go to the Italian restaurant but to a pizzeria (e.g. Sergio). But it's not as appealing there and also much louder.

We ended up at Al Dente by chance on Friday during our weekend trip and went straight back again on Saturday evening. Such nice service, so cozy and so delicious! Two wonderful evenings. Small but very nice. Absolute recommendation.

Kleines Restaurant mit sehr leckerem Essen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung, außergewöhnliche Gerichte. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Tolles hausgemachtes italienisches Essen. Wir hatten unter anderem ein fantastisches Thunfischcarpaccio, selbstgemachte Pasta und ein sehr leckeres Tiramisu. Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Preis- Leistungs- Verhältnis passt leider nicht. Vorspeise Antipasti aus der Dose, leider alles mit Essiggeschmack. Hauptgerichte leider sehr geschmacklos, kaum gewürzt, Fisch trocken und jedes Nudelgericht wurde mit der sehr eintönigen Tomatensauce angerichtet. Bedienung war freundlich und die Getränke je waren einfach, aber gut!

Unsere schlechte Bewertung bezieht sich nicht auf das Essen, dies war sehr gut,sondern auf die Sicherheit im Lokal. Meine Frau kam von der Toilette zurück in den vorderen Teil des Gastraumes. Eine von der Toilettenseite nicht sichtbare Stufe brachte meine Frau schwer zu Fall mit dem Ergebnis von sehr schmerzhaften Prellungen in den Knien und der Hüfte, die immer noch vorhanden sind. Gäste im Lokal, aber auch die Bedienung berichteten, dass dies kein Einzelfall sei, sondern schon des öfteren vorgekommen ist. Dass sich ein so gutes Restaurant nicht um Abstellung dieses Problems bemüht, ist für uns überhaupt nicht nachvollziehbar. Eigentlich ist dies ein Thema für die Gewerbeaufsicht. Hier überlegen wir noch, dies zu melden.

Supergute Küche, der gefüllte Bresaola als Vorspeise war köstlich. Danach hatten wir Linguine mit einer wirklich köstlichen Sauce alla Puttanesca und Thunfisch, der perfekt auf den Punkt gebraten war. Alles war sehr überzeugend und mit der sehr freundlichen Wirtin haben wir uns nett über Sardinien unterhalten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, leider erst bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt auf Norderney, da wir morgen schon abreisen…

Another culinary highlight! The Vitello tonnato was a stunner - perfectly coordinated and superbly presented. As a main course, chicken breast with capers and olives in a fruity tomato sauce - wonderfully harmonious and with a lot of depth of flavor - a real treat! The final cherry on top is the homemade tiramisu…worth every sin! The wine, a very harmonious Primitivo, went well and flattered the palate. Overall, a wonderful meal in a very, very nice atmosphere. The service was extremely courteous and attentive. The “Al Dente” on Norderney is the “place to be” for everyone who has a passion for fine Italian cuisine! Try it out - just great 👍👍👍

waren am mittwoch abend im al dente. die pasta vom feinsten, richtig große portionen, rinderfilet auf den punkt. der Küchenchefs kam extra an den tisch und hat sich bei uns nach der quali des essens erkundigt. sehr sympathische bedienung, alles top. kann ich absolut weiterempfehlen

Besser kann man nicht italienisch essen!!! Super nette Besitzerin, genialer Koch!! Selbstgemachte Ravioli in einem Tomatensugo, Wolfsbarsch in Weißweinsud… genial! Super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Wir sind hier sehr gerne. Immer Tagesempfehlungen die top sind- wir hatten Doradenfilet mediterran und Saltimbocca- beides perfekt abgeschmeckt. Und die Chefin ist immer präsent und die Weinempfehllung top

Reservieren ist hier absolut empfehlenswert. Es handelt sich um einen guten Italiener, vielleicht der beste auf Norderney. Es gab bei den bestellten Speisen einen kleinen Fehler. Bei dem Salat mit Garnelen, bzw mit Hähnchenstreifen und Pilzen, war alles kalt. Wir haben das reklamiert und ohne Anstand, wurden die Salate zurück genommen und der Salat kam dann mit warmen Fleisch und warmen Pilzen. Liebes Al Dente Team, bereitet die Salate immer so zu. Wir sagen Ciao - bis zum nächsten Mal.

Ein Geheimtipp auf Norderney. Reservierung unbedingt notwendig. Tolles, leckeres und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen. Sehr netter Service.

Frische, authentische italienische Küche. Wir lieben Fisch und wurden kein einziges Mal enttäuscht. Bravissimo. Die Pasta al dente ;-) und ein Genuss. Die Signora ist eine aufmerksame, sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. Perfekter Service. Beim nächsten Urlaub auf Norderney gehört das " Al Dente" wieder unbedingt dazu.

Nach den w e n i g e n negativen Bewertungen hier kamen wir heute Abend mit gemischten Gefühlen ins " al dente". Schon vor der Tür sagten uns Gäste (wie wir mit Hund) wie ausgesprochen zufrieden sie seien. Das sind wir auch. Sehr. Das Essen war, wie es sich gehört und es heutzutage leider selten vorzufinden ist: Frischer Thunfisch für das Carpaccio, Dorade in der Salzkruste, alle Zutaten harmonisch abgestimmt. Wunderbar. Man bekommt, was man bestellt. Der Hauswein ist eben Hauswein. Pino Grigio ist eine andere Nummer. Eine Vorspeise ist eine Vorspeise. Ein primo piatto ein primo. Siamo molto contenti. Grazie mille. Ein solch gutes italienisches Mahl hatten wir schon eine Weile nicht mehr. Alla prossima volta.

Ich kann mich nur der Bewertung von “unzufriedener Gast” vom 12.09 anschließen. Essen sehr klein Kein Geschmack Bei den Lachsnudeln gab es so gut wie keinen Lachs. Die Dame des Hauses bemüht und freundlich. Der Herr hat Gäste aus unserer Gruppe lautstark aus dem Lokal geworfen, als er mit unserer Kritik konfrontiert wurde.

Wir haben gestern dort den Abend verbracht und waren mit Qualität und Service rundum zufrieden. Der Schwertfisch in mediterraner Sauce war ein Traum!

Heute bei Al Dente!!! Nette Gastgeber mit leidenschaft! Das ist Klasse! Wir hatten so eine Lecker Pasta mit Gambas und Ravioli ! Ich kann nur Weiter Empfehlen, das ist ein Kleine Lokal mit eine tolle Speisekarte und Gute Wein! Vielen Dank für die schöne Abend.

Auch, wenn diese Bewertung erwartet wird, kann ich diesen Abend nicht unkommentiert lassen! Kurzum: wir wurden raus“komplimentiert“, als wir beim Zahlungsvorgang berechtigte Kritik geäußert haben und sich der Betreiber so hochgefahren hat, dass man Angst haben musste, dass er handgreiflich wird. Das komplette Lokal war still - alle waren geschockt, wie er uns beleidigt und beschimpft hat, wie man es als Dienstleistungsunternehmen mit 0% hinzunehmen hat. Es fing bei der Getränkebestellung/Begrüßung an und sog sich durch, wie ein roter Faden. Der Service an sich war stets bemüht, auch wenn alles lange gedauert hat, aber gepasst hat fast nix - vor allem nicht das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis!!! Wir waren eine große Gruppe und geschmeckt hat es den wenigsten - die Saucen der meisten Gerichte waren wenig gewürzt bzw. verwässert und mit wertigen Lebensmitteln wurde gespart. Kinderteller wäre wohl besser gewesen, nachdem es das Essen, was ich ursprünglich wollte und in der Onlinekarte stand, nicht gab. Definitiv keinen Besuch wert, 0 Punkte - schade!

Sono stato nel ristorante Al Dente pochi giorni fa con la mia ragazza, tutto mi aspettavo tranne che questo. Hanno vasta scelta di vini della Sardegna, ho assaggiato un ottimo tonno, e del vitello tonnato. Come dessert ho preso un delizioso tiramisù. Ho conversato a lungo con lo Chef che è Pugliese, devo dire che sa il fatto suo. Mi hanno fatto vedere la cucina e ho conosciuto anche Alessandro che lavora in questo locale, anche la ragazza, tutti molti professionali. Spero di tornarci presto per entrare in contatto di nuovo con la mia terra di origine.

Se dovessi identificare la perfezione userei il loro nome per la cucina. Sono stato con la mia famiglia in questo posto meraviglioso, la cameriera ti ricorda il sapore del sud, lo Chef cucina come mai ho visto nella mia vita. Continuate così, farete strada. Mi sembra strano che un Locale come il vostro non abbia la stella, dovrebbe avere una luna. Da quando sono stato in Germania è stato l'unico locale dove mi hanno fatto sentire Re. Vorspeise war qualitativ in Ordnung, Preis nicht ok. 8 zu gekaufte Produkte. Hauptgericht Saltimboca. Ohne Salbeiblätter, Zitronensauce geronnen. Schade, Bedienung...

Sehr leckeres Essen, überaus freundlicher Service, schönes, ruhiges Ambiente. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir hatten bereits aufgegeben, für den Abend noch ein Restaurant mit freiem Tisch zu finden... doch am Al Dente begrüßte uns bereits an der Eingangstür ein Türhänger mit der Aufschrift "frei" und wir wurden von Valentina herzlich begrüßt. Das Ambiente ist klein und fein - es war angenehm ruhig, wir saßen mittendrin und waren doch für uns und konnten uns bei netter unaufdringlicher Musik sehr gut unterhalten. Der Blick in die Karte bedeutet Qual der Wahl! Auch mit etwas weniger Appetit konnten wir an dem Vitello Tonnato nicht vorbei - eine Sünde! Eigentlich reicht für die Wahl des Hauptganges bereits der Blick auf die Tagesempfehlung auf der Tafel an der Wand. Risotto und Nudeln waren perfekt! Dazu gibt es eine schöne Auswahl an sardischen Weinen. Valentina ist sehr aufmerksam und hat für einen großartigen Rahmen für unseren Abend gesorgt! Vielen lieben Dank! Das Al Dente scheint (noch) ein echter Geheimtipp auf Norderney zu sein und wir empfehlen es sehr; es ist mehr als "einen Umweg" wert!

Platz 1 bei den italienischen Restaurants auf Tripadvisor sichtlich überbewertet. Zubereitung ok aber einige Speisen könnten etwas mehr Würze vertragen....

Ich war sehr zufrieden. Kam ohne Reservierung, allein, also ohne Begleitung und bekam trotzdem einen schönen Platz. Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Bedienung überaus freundlich. Ich wollte heute noch einmal hin mit meiner Freundin, aber leider ist Montag Ruhetag. Dann eben nächstes Jahr. 👍👍👍

Durchwachsen. Der Salat mit Burrata und Melone war okay, die Melone auch sehr lecker, aber das Dressing langweilig. Als Hauptspeise...

Wir durften bei unserem Aufenthalt mehrfach die Mega leckere Küche und die tollen Eigentümer kennen lernen die Ihr Restaurant mit viel Liebe und Herzlichkeit betreiben. Typisch Italienisch!!! Wir kommen wieder.
