The food is always delicious and the portions are sufficient. The service is always nice and you don't have to wait long for your food, even when it's busy.

Great food, seating is a bit cramped

Unfortunately a big disappointment for us: The service is professional, but that's about it. Unfortunately, warmth, as we know it from other Asian restaurants, is non-existent. The ambience is getting old and a bit tired, but clean and with lots of details. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the food is neither remotely authentic nor good: The fried foods were too dark and tasted significantly like fat and the beef was stringy. The duck also seemed simply cooked in the deep fryer, the chicken was fine. The sauces, on the other hand, were not what we expected across the board: despite the announcement on the menu, the spiciness was not or only barely noticeable and all three sauces tasted as if brown gravy had been added and starch had been used and therefore tasted strongly "Germanized". Asian vegetables were missing except for canned bamboo and Thai basil. Unfortunately, it's a restaurant that we can't recommend, but that's a matter of taste!

After vacationing in Laos and Thailand, I tried various places in Düsseldorf. In my opinion, Mekong is the most authentic restaurant in Düsseldorf. The owners are super friendly, the ambiance is really nice, and the prices are absolutely reasonable. I've paid more at some Thai takeaways. Highly recommended!

Soup ok, duck good, beef dish no revelation. 5 min drive - 75 min arrival. Unfortunately not an option for us.

We visited the restaurant at 6:00 p.m. and had free choice of seating without a reservation. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, the tables are quite close together, so you can't leave your seat without moving the table if the surrounding seats are occupied. The concept with the modular menu is interesting, but despite careful ordering (“no spiciness” or “least spiciness”), the dishes were already a little TOO SPICY for us. The pasta dish looked strangely thrown together. The taste of the food was still good. The Mango Lassi didn't really impress us with its consistency. We would also have liked the service staff to ask if there were any other requests - dessert or coffee were not offered. Unfortunately, paying was difficult as we had to ask several times. Overall, a solid restaurant with room for improvement. If you like spicy food, this is the place to eat.

Our Kulinaris Card led us to Restaurant Mai. We entered and sat down. We were advised to make a reservation next time. Since we were the only customers in the restaurant, I didn't quite understand this statement. We liked the decor; they offered several Thai beers, which was quite chic. The food was delicious, and the portions were so generous that we had to take the leftovers home with us, which was no problem. The value for money was excellent, and the service was always attentive.

I can recommend. Nice restaurant, friendly, fast staff and reasonable prices.

A regular Asian food joint. We ordered three dishes for take away. Owner cooks herself and food is freshly made. The store itself sports no seating, only outside in the summer months. I was a bit disappointed with the seasoning, though, the 15 (with chicken), 18 (with beef) and 22 (with chicken) all tasted roughly the same. There was no real special taste to any of them. Portion of 28 was generous, the others standard for prices varying from EUR 10 to 12. All in all, fine but nothing special.

No idea, why taste has changed so much, but according to some other reviews we are not the absolute isolated cases. It used to be incredibly delicious there!!! Very, very sad!!! Unfortunately from 5 stars to 2 stars after 8 years. Update: Unfortunately, the lady of the house is incapable of criticism and behaves ridiculously. Not dramatic, there are great alternatives now.
