I booked the Hotel Stadt Aurich for 1 night because I had work to do locally. The reservation was made online via a well-known booking platform because I couldn't really get any further via the hotel's website. The structure of the room selection page requires a fast processor - possibly. due to the graphics - almost 30 seconds, which is simply too long. When we arrived at the hotel, which is located away from the city center and near the central bus station, a young woman hurried out of the breakfast room to the reception, which had not been occupied until then, asked for my name and handed me the room key. I found the reception to be very distant. A “Welcome” or “Did you have a good journey?” Unfortunately it wasn't there. The room seemed renovated, was comfortably furnished with furniture in a burl wood design and was quietly located away from the street. Certainly not a prime location, but because of this it is also suitable for visitors who need a little peace and quiet. Let's move on to the booked breakfast buffet, which can be used between 6:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. When we arrived in the breakfast room, there was no one there... I saw a lady who didn't really seem to belong to the hotel in terms of clothing. I asked if I could just sit somewhere. The answer came promptly and just as warmly as the reception when I arrived: "Only where the food is set!" Good morning to you too, I thought... The buffet offers a certain selection of products on a table about 3 m long. Although there was something for everyone, I didn't find the buffet particularly special, but as we all know, that's a matter of taste. With the large number of around 8 different fruit juices, the decision is much more difficult. The juices are - I was told - purchased from a regional supplier. Since I am a fan of whole fruits, the fruit salad made from fresh fruits was my personal breakfast highlight. Unfortunately, there is no self-service coffee specialty machine. But when I asked, they offered to make me a cappuccino. What was in my cup a little later was an ultra-thin coffee with an indefinable foam top. It had nothing in common with an Italian cappuccino. I asked for the bill before breakfast because I wanted to set off immediately afterwards. The clumsy answer... "Yes, if you pay...!" Isn't it the case that as a hotel guest I ask for the invoice to check that it is correct and then pay? My conclusion: Nordic cool instead of warm - that's my impression... When it comes to service and dealing with customers, I recommend a “Rituals Seminar”. There, the three important pillars such as friendliness, service and quality are implemented optimally and, above all, in a customer-friendly manner. They reacted - and I see this very positively - immediately after this recession was published, which shows that the criticism here is taken very seriously. The aim is to check the settings on the coffee machine in order to achieve better results with coffee specialties in the future and to work on a “warm up” when it comes to the communicative exchange between staff and hotel guests. We'll be back up in Aurich soon and are excited to see to what extent something has happened. Updates here as always... Allergy sufferers should perhaps know that the hallways and rooms are still carpeted. Your Mike

- get still water instead of sparkling water - The waitress dropped the Kluntje tongs for the tea. “You can also use your fingers.” - as a vegetarian, instead of the kale buffet, you get a lean and not lovingly prepared alternative portion for €24; not being offered a second helping; went home hungry - No dessert in the buffet or offered anywhere else - Location is otherwise nice and toilets are clean

Ordered takeaway and unfortunately the food wasn't good. Definitely expected more for the price!!

A place where you like to go. It would be a shame if it would be over if the current owner can no longer continue it. It is and remains a cult pub.

My training here was a huge disappointment. As the only foreign trainee, I was excluded from the team 😡😡 and left alone with all the hard work. Respect, fairness and humanity? Completely missing. I didn't feel like a colleague, but like a worker who was being taken advantage of. Luckily I'm not there anymore.
