Cozy restaurant in a rustic style at the harbor in Aurich. The food is very good and when ordering schnitzel, the customer is asked about the type of meat (chicken/pork/vegan) and the type of fries (potatoes/sweet potatoes), which I found very positive. The salad 🥗 was also nicely prepared and tasty. The Hafenkiste is part of the Extrablatt Gastronomy. If you look at the toilets, you also know what the kitchen looks like.... The toilets here look immaculately clean.

A real tip for anyone who wants more than just snacks. Inviting atmosphere to feel good, dogs are welcome, service competent, friendly and uncomplicated. The delicacies from the kitchen are a real culinary delight!

Large location with beautiful furnishings and a great location right on the harbor. We were here for the first time and will definitely come back. The prices are really fair, the service is quick and friendly; unusual drinks and delicious food. The only thing that wasn't great was the side salad: no longer completely green and without a drop of dressing. And the cleanliness in the sanitary area could be improved, but that is probably due to the well-known lack of staff. But that's complaining at a high level, a great location!

You can eat well in the Hafenkiste, but only certain dishes. The burgers are great! Schnitzel again not so good. However, you have to wait a long time for your food and drinks at any time. Too bad. The location is large and beautifully designed. It's worth eating here no matter the weather. You can also have small snacks or a hot drink there.

Breakfast buffet with the family. On a Monday morning. It was varied and was replenished regularly. However, the cutlery was somehow out of stock. Staff was very friendly. Toilets clean!

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a nice location right on the harbor. What's particularly pleasant is that you can sit outside in the summer garden or inside. The staff was friendly, but not always attentive when it came to the drinks. Value for money is okay, and the food was okay overall. We had schnitzel twice with fries, a large salad and homemade tortelloni. Unfortunately there was a large piece of plastic in the filling of the tortelloni, and the dish was also cold. But it was taken back without any problems and we got a new one. The cocktails were very tasty. One point for improvement would be the cleanliness of the toilets, especially the women's toilets. It should be checked more often and some guests could also behave more considerately - it's really unpleasant when two out of four toilets are dirty. All in all it's a nice place for a break, e.g. B. after a bike tour, but not a particular highlight.

Very disappointing! Four of us stopped there after a bike ride. We ordered 2 x schnitzel with fries and 2 x green bowl. After a long time, the two “bowls” and one schnitzel with fries arrived. The schnitzel and fries were cold. So that went back. The second schnitzel we ordered came after a quarter of an hour and the one we ordered came back after another 10 minutes. So we couldn't eat together. Now to our bowl, which wasn't one. Mixed salad works better (with lots and lots of green lettuce leaves). The individual components were very rare and you had to really look for them. Bulgur and onion were completely missing. The whole thing had nothing to do with a bowl. We paid around €100 for the whole thing including drinks. We would have gotten it cheaper at the snack bar.

Nice gastronomy at the Aurich harbor in a slightly rustic atmosphere. The service was very good, the food was plentiful and tasted okay. It is advisable to reserve, otherwise you might not get a place. I can definitely recommend it.

On the occasion of my birthday we went to the breakfast buffet in the Hafenkiste for the first time. The atmosphere there is very nice, the service is good and friendly. We were there on a Wednesday, so it wasn't crowded. Unfortunately the breakfast wasn't a highlight!! However, the selection was quite large. There were 2 types of rolls, croissants, cheese, sausage, many sweet spreads, egg dishes, various desserts, fruit, pancakes, cornflakes, juices, all included. However, you pay extra for hot drinks. They then dig in, so that our breakfast includes two hot drinks per person. cost more than €22. For 3 people a total of 68€, I think that's steep!! But what bothered us more was that a lot of things there weren't fresh. In our opinion, the croissants were from the day before, the ends were hard and dry. That had nothing to do with a fresh, delicious croissant! The salad from the salad bar was no longer crisp green, but brown, which was unappetizing, and the remaining vegetables didn't make the best impression either. The rolls were reminiscent of Aldi Aufbach rolls, which isn't actually a bad thing, but I don't expect something like that at a buffet. Unfortunately, the pancakes and scrambled eggs were cold… and the little egg muffins also tasted like they were from the day before. After a few great evenings in the Hafenkiste, we expected a great breakfast, but were unfortunately disappointed. We often go for breakfast in various cafés and are happy to pay more for a great breakfast, but the €68 for this offer hurts! What a shame!!

Before Corona, we visited the Hafenkiste very often and never went home disappointed. Unfortunately, we didn't like it at all the last few times. The place is completely crowded, correspondingly loud and no longer comfortable. The food and drinks are below average, the burgers are bland and tasteless, the cocktails are nicely presented but only contain minimal alcohol. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio doesn't fit here at all. The service is totally attentive and very friendly. At most we will only come to the harbor box for a glass of wine.

The employees take a break in the middle of the store. The guests therefore do not dare to sit down at the largest table. Sorry, but it's not possible for the staff to take a break in the guest area. The employee found the phone next to her very annoying as she ate and simply dismissed the call. The schnitzel was very tasty. The decorative salad was wilted and the tomatoes in it were also unappetizing to look at. Every time I had to wait twenty to thirty minutes until a service came. The only thing that worked was when I walked into the store I was immediately asked what I wanted to drink and my dog ​​was served water with my drink. Then the waiting began. The terrace has three small parasols, which means you can't visit the outside area when it's warm because you can't stand the heat. The ambience is quite nice. I just don't know what these stupid garden gnomes are doing in the edge of a harbor. So in the future I would only stop there for a drink, because it's served quickly.

Anyone who likes hamburgers and schnitzel is in good hands. Drink good selection.

Easy to get to, easy to park, good food, nice atmosphere

Wir waren am frühen Nachmittag auf der Suche nach einem Lokal wo man noch essen konnte. Google schlug uns die Hafenkiste vor. Am "Hafen" von Aurich, am Anlegeplatz der MS Aurich gelegen, bietet es dank eines Wintergartenartigen Terassenbereichs einen geschützten Raum, wo man doch fast wie draussen sitzt. Essen war lecker, Bedienung freundlich. Ambiente war gut. Essen war nicht nur gut, sondern auch preiswert! Haben den Aufenthalt genossen!

World-class fries right at the harbor

Yesterday we went to the Hafenkiste before a concert without a reservation. There was no room inside so we sat outside despite the cool weather. Luckily 👍 the food, service and ambience were great. We had burgers, fish, schnitzel and pasta. Everything was excellent 😊👍 We would love to come back when we are in the area again. Thank you for everything...

I ate a super, delicious baked potato with a crispy salad here. The dressing recommended by the waiter tasted really good. I was also given the sour cream later. So, the service, the kitchen crew and the view of the harbor give me the highest rating❣️ THANK YOU❣️❣️

Very nice, cozy restaurant right at the small harbor in Aurich. It's not a star restaurant, but it fits perfectly into the surrounding area. The food is varied, rich and tasty. There is something for everyone. The service is on point and eye contact is enough of a request.

Was here with my wife. Had crusties, it was very tasty. As an addition, a small glass of salad. Completely dry. the lettuce leaves with brown edges. My wife had baked potatoes with salad. Large potato with a dollop of herb cream. Ate 1/3 potato, all herb cream, so reordered. When the salad was eaten and the potatoes were cold, the reorder came. After a few critical words, I ordered another beer. Waited 15 minutes, didn't come Please everyone have their own thoughts about this service and do you have to put a wilted salad on your plate?

It's my first time here and I'm really impressed. I took a break and found this restaurant. A water bowl was brought straight away for my little Bella and the shift manager Linus had a very good eye on everything and everything went smoothly. The weather was wonderful and the beautiful sunny terrace was well attended. I'll be back :)

I was recently at the Hafenkiste in Aurich and unfortunately I have to say that I am very disappointed. The waiter who served us was extremely unfriendly and seemed uninterested in making the experience pleasant. We were also served the wrong menu, which further marred our day. The quality of the food also left a lot to be desired - it was tasteless and simply unappealing. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience and unfortunately I cannot recommend the harbor box. Never again!

We are having our last breakfast before heading home. We really enjoyed being here. The atmosphere is very inviting. The breakfast was plentiful and the breakfast buffet was huge. There's nothing wrong with it. Many thanks to the very nice service staff.

We had reserved a table. The reservation was gone. We waited forever for the drinks alone. The food arrived almost two hours after we arrived. Difficult for the children to endure. It's a shame, maybe the restaurant is too big for the kitchen. Or you should inform the guests about the long waiting time.

I was there quite often now and at different times of the day. The service was always friendly, the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet on weekends is recommended. A good selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes are available. The ambience is very nice, the view of the harbor is very nice. There are limited parking spaces available, so it can get crowded. And don’t forget the parking disc!

First visit: Great location, good food, great service. Unfortunately, new staff were not handled well. The guests have noticed how the staff has been rounded out. They are also looking for more staff. Good luck, they will leave very quickly. Second visit: We made a special reservation and then waited at the table inside for half an hour for someone to serve us. We then waited just over an hour for 3 burgers and a schnitzel. Guests who came after us had their food much quicker. If we hadn't said anything, we would probably still be sitting there and waiting today. In the meantime we have already considered whether we should just go over to the Yugoslavs. There was no apology or anything like that. Rarely experienced something like that. Unfortunately not again for the time being... It's actually a shame, the shop could really be a gold mine. Third visit after a year: We were there during the lunch break. First of all, we waited 3/4 hour for the food, which surprised us. It was all fast food from the deep fryer, even the 2 small molded schnitzels from the Krüstchen. Secondly, we had no cutlery and had the waitress asked to bring us cutlery. She didn't come back and we got some from the tables at the back. Thirdly, some of the onions on the crust were pretty black. I have no idea whether we'll come back again. If so, we'd rather go to another restaurant in this chain in Leer.

We waited over an hour for the food, which unfortunately is hardly worth mentioning. The shepherd's cheese was missing from a salad and the burger was below average. The meat patty was definitely frozen and not homemade. There was no demand for drinks during the entire 2 hour visit.

A really great atmosphere, super great staff. Everyone is trying very hard. You feel comfortable here. The food also looked fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. Someone here has done something very nice with this gastronomy.

Never again cocktail was very poorly made I let it go back and still had to pay I just wanted a little ginger ale with it and had to pay the full price for that too. No agreement with the waitress.

We've been to the Hafenkiste several times and think it's really nice there. The food is also good but the service is really subpar. No matter what time, whether at breakfast, lunch or even in the evening. It's a shame, I never really wanted to write a review like that. I hope the owner takes this to heart and changes something!

Long waiting times even though there were only a few guests. (45min lunchtime) Unfortunately, the food was only lukewarm.

It was incredibly tasty and the staff were very nice and implemented all of the children's special requests. Great value for money! 2 children's meals, 2 main courses for us and drinks = 60 euros and we were all full!

Unsere Reservierung war schon wieder einmal verloren gegangen, Mein Hamburger hatte keine Sauce und im Joghurt Eis fehlte Eis. Quasi war es ein teurer Obstbecher. Mir hat es überhaupt nicht gefallen und leider war es auch nicht das erste Mal.

We discovered this beautiful restaurant by chance. The service was great, we were greeted in a friendly manner and a service person was quickly there to serve us. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. Our dog was also very welcome. Price performance was great and the ambience was also right, with a beautiful outdoor terrace with a view of the harbor. We'd love to come back ☺️

Parking is very bad, everything is very loud. The store was absolutely packed. The service was top. The fries were totally over salted, the cheeseburger was freshly prepared and quite okay, the price wasn't right. Drinks were warm.
