We were welcomed by a bad-tempered boss, as the group had been reduced in size at short notice due to illness (there is currently a wave of flu sweeping through our republic), she complained about loss of earnings.🤷🏻♀️ The food was not good: the mixed starter platter was a heap of fried zucchini and eggplant in greasy breading, a stuffed grape leaf, a piece of cheese for 18€. In addition, we were not served stuffed peppers, which we thought were part of our order, but someone else had ordered them and so simply didn't get them. We had to pay them. The salad looked like grass clippings and was not edible when soaked in vinegar. A shriveled raisin should probably replace the figs. We looked for the toppings in vain. The waiter obviously can't do the math, there was no receipt... It's also very cold in the restaurant. We left literally frozen.
So I can't agree with some of them.
1. I should be surprised if the boss doesn't know anything about wine, I learned the job from the ff, which I didn't like wine, I worked in the Balkans myself and learned the intricacies of wine connoisseurship from the boss.
2. If you go to a restaurant, you have to expect waiting times, and sometimes the food comes in installments. It is most likely to be observed at Christmas time, so as a guest you have to look past it.
I've been doing this job for 28 years now, but even today I notice that guests consciously look for mistakes. When I noticed in the Balkans that it might take longer, I gave my guests brief information and, in consultation with the boss, gave them a round on the house. You have to show the guest that he is being taken for granted.
We wanted to go for burgers there on a Thursday, we were there at 5 p.m. and found the door closed. That doesn't work at all!! There wasn't even a notice on the door that it wouldn't be opened. We specifically asked about the opening times online and there wasn't anything that said it was closed. Thank God we are from Werneuchen, just imagine guests coming from further afield and then having to stand in front of a locked door. If you don't feel like having guests and work in general, you might want to consider closing the restaurant completely. In any case, we are served and will avoid the restaurant in the near future! ☝️
We ate from the buffet, which was no longer warm. My wife and I both had diarrhea so we had to stop shopping twice and go to the toilet. The waitress preferred to make phone calls rather than cash in on us. Conclusion: We won't eat there anymore.
We started out as a group of 5 and were seated then three extra people unexpectedly joined us, including two children and it was no problem to move us to a larger table.
Service was friendly and helpful and accommodating of a large group including a couple of non-German speakers. Food was delicious and a good night was had by all, celebrating a family visit from visitors from a long way away in a multi-generational group.
The food was okay, nothing more and nothing less, if you compare the prices that were on the menu now with previous years it is simply borderline (knowing full well that everything has become more expensive). What particularly struck me was how the older lady was constantly criticizing the little Polish girl, who was probably quite new there, with great joy and then evaluating it behind the bar with her second German colleague and ridiculing it. At our table and at least at the next table it was viewed as completely unprofessional. It's also not my place to judge how you feel when folding napkins or aligning a chair with millimeter precision, so I'm just judging the way you explain it.
We ate at the Bambusgarten in Pflanzen-Kölle today. The restaurant is very inviting and modernly decorated.
Very nice and friendly service!
The falafel dream was truly a dream! Everything was freshly prepared and of very high quality. The cakes and tarts also left nothing to be desired.
Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back 😊 Many thanks to the owner, "Ramy," for his friendly and accommodating manner...
The restaurant *Männerfalle* is located at Friedrich - Wolf- - Str. 10h, in 14478 Potsdam.
This is a good restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere there is very pleasant.
Yesterday we drank various well-kept beers here. The previous ones were very delicious.
The staff is very friendly, helpful, socially competent and very valuable.
Would I be happy to recommend this excellent address?
