The owner is not friendly at all and serves the Germans better than the Portuguese! We drove almost 3 hours to get to the restaurant and when we entered, as soon as he saw that we were Portuguese, he asked me if we had a reservation, when the restaurant's website doesn't even say that you need a reservation! It's very sad that we feel racism towards "our own" So, if you are portuguese is not recommend

The Café Restaurant Portugal in Backnang is a real gem! A family-run restaurant that impresses with great attention to detail and a strong focus on quality. The “hot stone” in particular is my insider tip – perfect for anyone who wants to treat themselves to a larger portion of meat, accompanied by delicious homemade fries. Another delight are the prawns, which can be ordered by the half or whole kilo – incredibly fresh and served with a fantastic sauce. A real treat! Even if it's not officially on the menu: if you ask, you can get the grilled octopus in olive oil, which is simply heavenly. Everyone will find something here and the price-performance ratio is unbeatable in the region. Absolutely recommended!

Auf Anraten einer Bekannten haben wir an einem Freitagabend das Tasca do Jose besucht und haben es definitiv nicht bereut. Im gemütlichen Innenhof herrschte ein sehr schönes Sommernachts-Feeling. Das Essen war hervorragend und der Service ausnehmend freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Preise waren für das Essen durchaus in Ordnung. Wir kommen garantiert wieder!

Overall, nice restaurant with good food. The 10 starters that arrived one after the other were very convincing. There was literally everything there, from bread with olives to bacon-wrapped dates. The main course was even less convincing, the vegetables were still frozen and everything was not very seasoned. The potatoes were good. Unfortunately, we waited a total of 3 hours for our food; the chefs were probably overwhelmed since we were there in a large group.

I can highly recommend a short trip to Portugal. It was delicious and the staff was very nice and accommodating!
