Very centrally located and an amazing entrance and welcome. Big spacious lobby and plenty of staff on hand for swift check in. Rooms very well looked after however maybe a bit small and the air conditioning was borderline pointless it made noise but didn't cool the room. Rooftop spa was amazing vibes with a stunning view of the city and the open top swimming pool fantastic

For almost 40 years - oh God, how time flies - I have been visiting the bar at Trader Vic's on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the bar has changed almost unnoticed during this time, but has now changed with full force. In times long past, I was able to talk to the bartender about the different recipe variations of Mai Thai, try them out on site and compare them. AND TODAY? While you can order a Munic Mule in all bars in the house, this is not possible in the bar at Trader Vic's and although everything is available at the bar - well, I didn't see the DUKE - but to say "Only what's on the menu!" reminds me of the unspeakable statements “Outside to the Kännchen”. I can't say whether this is because people here don't want to follow the spirit of the times and stick to tradition like in the Catholic Church, or whether the bartenders are just semi-skilled people who only know the menu. But this is a NO-GO. After all, Trader Vic’s is a bar, a restaurant in one of the best establishments in the city! THE FOOD As has been the case for decades, eating (in the bar area) is always an experience, but this is somewhat marred by the price/performance ratio. Well, don't worry, if you spend 25.00 euros on a 1/2 organic chicken at the Oktoberfest, you shouldn't complain! But here I come to the next point THE SERVICE We were there this early evening, next to another table - almost the only guests. We had one/the only service person who seemed to have almost no interest and promptly forgot one of the three dishes he ordered. At first we thought this was due to the size of the table as all three starters would have been too much for the table. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The fact that we couldn't reorder because the service staff was only in the bar very irregularly doesn't help us come back more often. Maybe I'm doing the service an injustice because it was also divided into the restaurant, but here too, "That doesn't meet the expectations I have of a top-class establishment. AMBIENCE The furnishings and decoration have not changed in the last 40 years and are still what reminds me of a TIKI bar. But that is probably the opinion that an “Old White Man” has. because the bar wasn't well attended. But it could also be that the previous points, the visitors are becoming fewer and fewer and customers like me are slowly but surely visiting a bar less and less and therefore the bar seems to be less and less in demand. CONCLUSION It is with a heavy heart that I have to say that I will no longer be a customer of Trader Vic's in the future when I crave a good cocktail. Fortunately, there are still alternatives in the house. But I'm a little sad!
