Stayed during the Munich Stone Fair. The hotel is large and scenic, with many amenities and a 24-hour concierge, but the overall experience didn't live up to the asking price. The on-site restaurants are convenient, but the price is decidedly high for the quality of service and food. The pool, advertised as heated, was too cold to enjoy—a disappointing aspect considering the quality of the facility and the price of the rooms. Dinner on the terrace with a pleasant view, but the value for money wasn't convincing. The property is enormous, with very different rooms: to avoid direct views of other rooms, you'll need to opt for at least a Junior Suite, which will increase the price. Breakfast, while varied, is also pricey and deserves to be considered beforehand. In short, a scenic hotel with plenty of amenities, but with significant costs that aren't always reflected in the actual experience.

The 5-star hotel's windows are so soundproofed that it's like there's a park right next to it, completely useless. There are too many rooms and the three elevators can't handle all the guests; you have to wait five minutes to go downstairs. If you don't take the elevator and have to walk up the stairs to the ground floor, it's under construction and impassable. Overall, I don't recommend it; there are better options.

For a hotel with the reputation and pricing of Bayerischer Hof, our experience was extremely disappointing. The room was advertised as a double room with both a king bed and a twin, and the photos clearly showed two separate beds. Instead, we were given a room with only one king bed, and when we raised the issue, the staff were dismissive rather than helpful. We also attempted to book spa treatments, only to be told that they did not know when anything would be available because the therapist was out. Throughout our entire stay, no treatments were offered at all, something unacceptable for a luxury hotel. The room itself fell short of expectations: it was dark, had stains on the couches, low ceilings, and unimpressive décor. For the price, the overall quality was far below what one would expect from a five-star property. To make matters worse, no one assisted with my luggage down the stairs. A staff member commented, “I see you are able to do it yourself, so you won’t need any help,” and walked away. The remark was deeply disrespectful and left a lasting negative impression. Overall, our stay did not meet the standards promised by a hotel of this category, and we left feeling extremely disappointed. Edit: I reached out to their customer service team and no one responded. This generic response here is copy and pasted on all negative reviews. Poor customer service!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I wanted a luxurious hotel while on a business trip to Munich, but I also needed to work. I asked for a quiet room, and was assured by the reception team that I had one, but the hotel’s constant construction noise woke me early in the morning and prevented me from working or relaxing in my room. The hotel also lost my luggage for a period, making me miss an important work video call. When I complained, the hotel simply offered me an upgrade on my room on a future visit. It’s an ok hotel, but the constant noise and terrible customer service means it should be avoided at all costs.

Absolutely outrageous. Housekeeping rinsed our used coffee cups in the bathroom sink, dried them with our towels, and then put them back by the coffee machine. The sink and towel were covered in coffee stains. If this is standard practice, I might as well have had to drink my coffee from a dirty cup left by the previous guest. Staff smoked in the courtyard under our open window in the evenings… The room stank like a dive bar…

Hotel should not be open. Between the dinginess, dirtiness, darkness, foul odors, construction, rude service and lack of amenities, I can't believe this hotel is able to call itself 5 stars. It's laughable how low quality and poor it is. Management is also unhelpful and inept and the hotel will take your money under false pretenses (promise one thing on their bookings and deliver another). They also do not offer king beds for most rooms, even when they promise this, but two small beds pushed together. You and your family can do much better!

I immediately felt very comfortable. The room was typical for hotels of this category. The vanity mirror lighting was broken, but otherwise everything was perfect. Pay attention to the style when booking; I didn't, and I had a colonial-style room with lots of elephant paintings. It took a long time for my luggage to arrive in the room, but the little touches in the room more than made up for it: not just fruit and macarons, but also tissues in the Bayerischer Hof design, bath salts and a rubber duck for the spacious bathtub, hand sanitizer, etc. The spa and pool area are beautifully designed; the pool is large and, in good weather, open to the sky. Here, as well as on the roof terrace and at breakfast, you have a great view of Munich. The poolside service is first-class, so you can even order food and drinks from the water. The sauna is a pleasant 92 degrees Celsius. The relaxation room is extremely comfortable. Falk's Bar is great; the historic Hall of Mirrors is beautiful, and the staff is extremely competent; the drinks are delicious. Roof terrace: No draft beer, but otherwise great. The highlight is the breakfast: extremely good service, everything very fresh, great guacamole, white sausages, a selection of cheeses, fruit, porridge, etc. The breakfast is good value for money. Mrs. Mancilla-Schmid is wonderful; I've rarely felt so comfortable.

It’s an old hotel and got renovated recently. The original entrance is still blocked for construction. So we had to enter through a narrow hallway to the second floor for reception which was giving an off feeling from a five star hotel. Room: The room was ok. But I reserved a king bed, they gave me two twin together which was not comfortable because of the gap in between. Also the blanket was so short, I’m five four, the blanket could hardly cover my feet, so I didn’t sleep well whole night. Food: Used the roof top restaurant for dinner, it was so bad, food was salty and the rice was not cooked and the price was high. The server led us in asked us 1.5 hours is enough for not because the seat was reserved. I thought it was rude to ask the customer this question. The breakfast was also not good at all. So I didn’t eat much. Other: they didn’t use cloth laundry bag but paper bags. And it’s a $500 five star hotel? I did not enjoy my stay in this hotel.

Service was impeccable, room was very nice. I was impressed with the large size of the room as typically in Europe you encounter smaller rooms. The bathroom was very generous. I had a room that wasn't renovated and the modern colors and wished I did but otherwise the stay was outstanding. Concierge was amazing even arranging a private driver for me at very last minute. The Spa wasn't at a 5star level for me hence only giving 4 stars. It was my first German spa experience. The room where my massage was in was tiny, I could hear all of the noise outside from footsteps to kids screaming and the entrance was a common area so it wasn't very private. Absolutely LOVED the Polynesian bar in the lower level, at Trader Viks. Jess V was a great bartender and we enjoyed the food and drinks. I will send clients to this historic hotel. It is SO close to the sites of downtown Munich!

We were at the Luna Party. A lovely location with a sensational view of the Frauenkirche and the full moon, in beautiful summer weather. We'd already visited the Polar Bar in winter. What blew us away both times, though, was that the entrance and bar were "cash only!" So, today, only "1 star"... not really justified, I know... but a little motivation for the Bayrische Hof management to spare guests the arduous climb to the nearest ATM 😉

Never, never again! Ridiculously high price for an incredibly old room, which also smells of smoke and has a loud exhaust fan in front of the balcony – leaving the window open is impossible. I've also been trying to get a correctly addressed bill for over a week. I'm never connected properly, and when I do, no one answers for minutes, and emails are ignored. I've never experienced anything like this before, extremely embarrassing – this house has completely outlived its usefulness.

Overnight stay from August 7th to 8th – a huge disappointment More show than substance – that sums it up, unfortunately. Anyone expecting a true five-star experience will be disappointed. I was traveling for business and deliberately chose the Bayerischer Hof – hoping for comfort, quality, and relaxation. What I got was the exact opposite. Room & Cleanliness: Poor As soon as I entered the room, I noticed: The place isn't cleaned thoroughly. Dust on the skirting boards, a dirty shower that barely drains – probably completely clogged. A disgusting smell in the bathroom that, to be honest, reminded me of decay. Carpets with dried-in stains, dusty curtains (are they ever even cleaned?), and a desk with dried-in stains – you don't want to touch anything here. In short: unhygienic, unkempt, and absolutely not up to the standards you'd expect from a hotel of this category. Spa & Pool: Long Out of Date The pool feels like a relic from days gone by – it was certainly once chic, but today it's just plain old. The spa area? Unloved, unspectacular, and partially empty. The so-called women's sauna was either out or barely noticeable. Far too limited for a 5-star hotel; the whole thing has nothing to do with wellness. Breakfast: Substandard The breakfast buffet was the biggest disappointment. The scrambled eggs were gray and flabby, the bacon was greasy and not crispy, and the pancakes were rubbery. There was no sign of high-quality ingredients or even organic food. This wasn't enjoyable, but rather cafeteria-level fare. An absolute no-go in a hotel of this price range. Conclusion: Never Again I book a five-star hotel to feel good, to unwind, to enjoy myself – but the exact opposite happened here. Whether it was the room, the service, the spa, or the breakfast: none of it was even remotely "luxurious." The value for money is disastrous. I have more relaxation at home – and that really says it all. My advice: Don't be fooled by the name. This hotel is no longer up-to-date. Find a modern, well-maintained hotel – the Bayerischer Hof has long since lost its luster.

We had a pleasant stay but expected more from this hotel. We arrived by car, and the service upon arrival was excellent. The car was taken care of and parked for us. Check-in was also very quick, and our luggage was promptly brought to our room. We had two unrenovated rooms, which were very clean but overall dated. The small window barely let in any natural light. The only positive aspects were the beds/mattresses. The breakfast room has a cafeteria feel, and the tables are very close together. The buffet area is very cramped and quite crowded at peak times. Since we travel a lot, we've often found better. The breakfast is good, but nothing special. There are better options even in Munich. It's a shame, but there's plenty of room for improvement. The hotel's good, central location and the consistently friendly staff are worth mentioning.

UPDATE: I wrote this review during my one day stay (where I was in the room for 14 hours). Now 6 days after leaving this hotel (and writing this review) I’m sent a email that I was being charged €477 in mini bar charges. This is comical! And has to be straight out retaliatory for my review. How in the world would I even be physically able to drink that much in the few hours I was there!! I will have to contest this with American Express because I’ve written the hotel directly but with of course no response. In all DO NOT STAY THERE. They lost my baggage for several hours, tried charging me almost half a grand a week after my departure and straight up are ignoring my emails!! ORIGINAL: This hotel is a total sham. I stayed here one night on a prepaid night for a river cruise and they ran my card for 420 euros for no absolute reason. No one could explain why or how it happened and no one was apologetic. Thank god I checked my card! From what I can gather people might like this place because the rooms are large but there’s nothing beyond that I can recommend. Especially as the hotel is under major construction at the moment. Be like the Ritz in Paris and close down while you’re under construction!! That my friends is 5 star hotel. This is a mud slinging pig with lipstick on.

A dream in Munich :) Whenever we're in Munich, we always want to stay at the Bayerischer Hof. We were thrilled. The new rooms are a dream: very spacious, modern, bright, stylish, and with great attention to detail. The location is, of course, unbeatable :)...right in the center, everything is within walking distance. Upon arrival, your car is immediately taken away and parked. So, a relaxing start. The hotel itself is almost a small city in itself: restaurants, spa, sauna, bars, theater, and a cinema with current films. A tip: definitely inquire beforehand about what's on offer during your stay, as the program is varied and really well-organized. We spontaneously experienced a jazz evening at the hotel, which was simply fantastic, and ate at Trader Vic's. The Bayerischer Hof is a place that perfectly combines luxury and experience, and of course, everyone is very friendly. We'll definitely be back 😍

We were there for the prom. I consider charging €35 for a plate with two pieces of chicken, a handful of vegetables, and a small portion of rice to be extortionate. Likewise, a bottle of mineral water costs €14, which is outrageous! The food selection was very meager overall and not really well-designed for the crowd: teenagers aged 15 to 17. A few "regular" pasta dishes or maybe a burger with fries at reasonable prices would have been more appealing. The ballroom and its furnishings are very dated. At least the dance school put a lot of effort into the event.

Very classy hotel with extremely friendly attentive staff from reception to room service to laundry etc all were always happy to serve even the one who didn’t speak any English. Our check in and check out were extremely fast and friendly and hassle free BIG THANKS. We were in our rooms with our luggage less than 15mins!! The room was spacious room with a very comfortable bed, air conditioning was excellently positioned and bathroom was also generous in size with a jacuzzi! Coffee machine with free coffee capsules. Free water and fruits thanks. One hour laundry was excellent. Hotel location cannot be matched it’s located right at the heart of Munich just a stone’s throw away from Marienplatz which my favourite hangout. Pet friendly hotel. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, shopping options right outside the hotel all around, a couple of community parks in 5-15min walks from the hotel. Arab street is also only 15min walk with many international options.

My first impression of the room was that it was getting on in years. But maybe that's just not my style. It took 45 minutes for our luggage to arrive in the room. But it was completely over for me when I wanted to use the bathroom and found the previous guest's mess. I also found hair and other debris in the bathtub. After asking several times, I was assured that the bathroom would be cleaned again. When I returned in the evening, only the towels were neatly folded again, but it was still dirty. After I cleaned the toilet with disinfectant, everything was gone. That shouldn't be the guest's responsibility. It really ruined my time in Munich.

Great location, traditional hotel, facilities are getting old, restaurants very good, staff very friendly, rooms overall nice and quiet. Very clean. Breakfast average. But, but - pool - water cool, and especially saunas (mini, dark) don't work at all. A fundamental investment is necessary here. Other 5-star hotels do much better. Therefore 3 stars.

Had a super warm welcome, early check-in worked and even got an upgrade. I particularly liked the spa on the 6th floor, pool, sauna, steam room - very good for a city hotel in a prime location. Breakfast is also upstairs with a rich buffet (also many local hot dishes) and a great view of the Frauenkirche.

Bar on the 7th floor... we had made reservations for 7 people for their birthday (at the table with seating) and then ended up in the lounge area. It was rather unpleasant at the fireplace because it didn't vent properly. Unfortunately, the service that evening was rather average.

XMAS 2024 - as always alone and mostly very thoughtful, I spontaneously spent Christmas at the Bayerischer Hof. From check in to check out it was just perfect...almost too perfect. On December 25th I went swimming for an hour early in the morning and watched the sunrise. In the afternoon, we enjoyed a roast venison and a glass of red wine in the sunshine on the Blue Spa terrace in peace and quiet in the Blue Spa Restaurant (winter garden). I found all the lovely, very personal touches that were "conjured up" in my room on Christmas Eve particularly nice...see photos. Despite the size of the hotel (I actually got lost twice), I always found a comfortable place and felt very comfortable even as a solo traveler - especially at Christmas. It was also so pleasant for me to chat with such nice people every now and then - from the staff to the guests (I took some Christmas photos for really lovely families under the beautifully decorated Christmas tree... that also brought me joy).

We have known the Bavarian court for a very long time. The roof terrace is a dream. Very friendly staff. The small, different locations - bars on the ground floor, invite you to relax and unwind with good friends. Of course the location is in the middle of the city - great!

The phones and toilet are only part of the problems! Lack of staff and management carrying is the problem! If you are not a VIP OR Dignitary, they don't care! They tell you their training and process but just because they may teach it, if the staff doesn't follow it and they keep telling you that you're not important enough...or they don't say they will fix the issue...you have nothing! Saying that all you have to do is call them...PHONES NOT WORKING so they can say it a million times, no phone no help. When you go down to the front desk and tell them you need repair for toilet, they say call housekeeping! BUT THE PHONES DON'T WORK SO YOU CAN'T! Save a lot of cash and go to another hotel that wants to give you proper service! Free breakfast doesn't help when staff isn't doing their job! Stayed from December 21-25 2024

We were guests in your restaurant on January 2nd of this year. The ambience is impressive and magnificent, which initially left a positive impression. Unfortunately the service did not meet expectations. In the lounge area we were ignored by the waiter until someone from the bar finally took our order and passed it on to the waiter in charge. Shortly thereafter, another, younger waiter brought our order. However, no one took care of us after that and no one asked if everything was okay. All we needed was sweetener, but despite waiting 15 minutes and gesticulating several times in the hope of getting the staff's attention, this was unsuccessful - even though only four tables were occupied. In the end we gave up disappointed, left the money on the table and left the restaurant. Such poor service is regrettable and unfortunately does not do justice to the otherwise renowned reputation of this establishment.

It’s located central, breakfast was ok. Unfortunately swimming pool was closed on 31 afternoon , they installed tables around for dinner . Next morning at breakfast on 1 January, they had not friendly blond woman at bar, serving „ early bird“ breakfast . We arrived 20 min before 10. it was difficult to get hold of anyone to get breakfast or at least coffee. Other guests came too and were frustrated. For more than 1500 eur 2 days staying , we didn’t even got decent breakfast on our second morning ! Instead , hotel arranged late breakfast starting from 10. that costed 48 eur per person , while other even 4 star hotels offer nice breakfasts in normal hours ! It was disappointing

Lovely hotel with a nice vibe and lovely staff, but a few minor things to note. My room was very nice and cosy, but there are significant variances between rooms even of the same type. Another group in my party had an older room in which they couldn't function the AC system and had a rock hard mattress. The building is fairly old so it does come with many of the standard problems of an old building. Great variety at breakfast and good quality food, plus the view of the city and some of the historical buildings was nice. Pool was very busy so we didn't hang around, but looked nice. We had to wait an hour for our room to be ready at check-in but check out was easy. A bit more notice from staff before entering the rooms (i.e. knocking louder and saying 'housekeeping' loudly a few times) would be nice. The hotel was in a great location; very central. Access to transport was great with tram right outside, e-scooters parked across the road, and a short walk to the train stations. We returned to our rooms on Christmas day to find a bottle of Champagne and a sweet brioche - lovely (complimentary!) surprise!!

We went to the Falks Bar this evening. The cocktails were, as usual, very good. But!!! The quantity no longer bears any relation to what the cocktail costs! 0.1 l for 24 €!! The prices are continually rising but the capacity of the glasses is decreasing. Too bad! We're not coming anymore.

Review of Bayerischer Hof: Disappointment for a lot of money We have been staying at the Bayerischer Hof since December 22nd and planned to stay until the 28th, but we are forced to leave today, December 25th, because the living conditions here turned out to be simply unbearable. 1. Rooms: dirt, dust and shabby The photos on the site do not correspond to reality at all. • The rooms are very old, shabby and dirty. • The surfaces are covered with a layer of dust, which, mixed with the hot air from the heating, makes being in the room simply unbearable. • We moved into a “modernized room”, hoping for an improvement, but faced the same problem: terrible dust and dirt everywhere. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this level. 2. Climate in the rooms: impossible to breathe • There is no air conditioning, which is simply outrageous for a 5-star hotel. • The heating is turned on to maximum, and the air in the room becomes dry and heavy, making it impossible to breathe. • Opening the window is also not an option: it becomes too cold as the temperature drops quickly. 3. Service: rude and indifferent The staff were especially disappointing. Yesterday I spoke with the manager at the reception (an elderly man). • He behaved extremely rudely, constantly interrupted, and did not let me get a word in. • In response to my complaints, he replied that the hotel “does not care about the opinions of the guests,” and if we are not satisfied with the conditions, we can move out, but the money will still be written off. • This attitude towards guests is unacceptable and absolutely does not correspond to the stated standards of the hotel. 4. Summary This “hotel” is more like a hostel than a 5 star hotel. We are leaving ahead of schedule, losing paid days of stay, because it is physically impossible to be here. Advice for other travelers: If you are looking for comfort and high quality service, never book the Bayerischer Hof. This hotel will disappoint you with dirty rooms, terrible climate and indifferent staff. This is the most unpleasant experience we have had during our entire travels.

We were at the hotel to take an afternoon break and ordered two cappuccinos and the “Snack-Etagere”. The cappuccino is a machine!! Coffee for 7 euros!! We also had to have the cake stand returned. It was cookies and three small slices of white bread. In my opinion, the entire cake stand had been in the fridge all day and tasted anything but fresh (it was around 4 p.m.). The cookies were also cold and the white bread tasted “old” and was also cooled. For 24 euros and in a hotel like this, this is not acceptable in my opinion. The labeling of the toilets is also missing. I didn't find a changing room. Unfortunately there were also toilets. T. not clean. To emphasize: the service reacted professionally

Anyone who books here wants to stay in a hotel with tradition and excellent service. And that's what you get here too. We arrived by car, it was immediately taken from us and taken to the garage and the luggage was brought to the room. Our request for a rebooking was fulfilled immediately and without complaint by the receptionist. The rooms are not new, ok, not that bad. What really needs to be renewed soon is the spa area, the swimming pool with sloping tiles. But I think that this area was state of the art when it opened. Breakfast very pleasant in terms of selection and service. I would only like one thing: that Americans don't come to breakfast wearing flip flops (end of September).

Good hotel in the center of Munich. Due to its age and the various renovations, it has become a kind of fusion hotel in which the styles blend seamlessly. What you would expect from such a 5 star hotel was largely fulfilled, except for a few minor things. Despite the excessive service, after 20 minutes I was still happy with a cup of coffee. The fact that slivers of smoked salmon are presented says something about the quality in general. What also disappointed me were the hotel's communication systems. Being woken up at 5:35 am by someone who hangs up and then letting the bell ring briefly the next night, now at 6:21 am, is not good. The free WIFI was also of poor quality, high-speed was available at an additional cost, but that is something from the beginning of the 21st century, not of this time and certainly not in such a classy hotel.

I always imagined how great it must be to stay in a hotel like that. Presumably the hotel is the right address for people who use the service, luggage in the room, parking, getting something picked up... That would work well in the hotel, but if you only use the hotel as a normal guest, then you will be left with a bland taste. Swimming pool with loose tiles, everything a bit small and staid. The room dark. I wouldn't even want to stay there again if I could easily afford it.

As soon as you stand in front of the house you notice all the charm of the Bayerischer Hof - everything immediately feels like home. Outstanding service, whether concierge, reception or in the restaurants. We had a junior suite and the room was beautifully decorated and spacious. Breathtaking views at the spa and at breakfast. Great hotel with flaws… I don't really know how to judge. We were in the hotel for the second time this year. We booked 2x Deluxe Rooms. Unfortunately, once again we didn't get any renovated rooms, but rather old, musty rooms. At check-in I was asked if it was ok for my 2 children to be accommodated on a different floor as the rooms before me had been given to other guests. I was actually at a loss for words because when I booked with AMEX I specifically asked for 2 separate bedrooms, but for me and 2 teenagers. Separated from, among other things, underage kids; I don't think it's that great. In the end we were allocated 2 rooms on the same floor. My room was very noisy. I called reception around 2:30 and complained. Apparently I wasn't the only person. At around 5 a.m. the noise started again. After the complaint, I was given another room the following day, which was a blessing for my sleep and ears. If the taps had been descaled a little more, the sink was open, the toilet flush had a lot more power, and I and my kids had been closer together, we would have been quite happy. Cleanliness issue - There were apple cores under the dessert for over 3 days, the lamps on the bed were a bit dusty (unfortunately you can see this with dark furniture). Pictures and lamps were slightly crooked (my inner Monk, jumping in a triangle) 🥴 The location of the hotel is great; I have only experienced great, friendly staff. The organized trip from the limousine service to Adele and Coldplay with Mr. Rahimi worked perfectly. Breakfast great, despite many guests, and a bit crowded at the buffet. Spa staff were very friendly. Small appendix - if there is such an extensive renovation going on, I would have liked to have known about this beforehand. So the noise was very annoying during the day and our favorite restaurant “Traders Vic” was closed. Would I book again? Only with request for the new renovated rooms and when the renovation is completed.

Trying to use super strong perfume to cover up the stench like a stinking ditch, turning on the air conditioner to make the whole room smell bad, knowing full well that this is a problematic room but still providing it to customers, do you think you can cover it up with perfume? Basically there is no Wi-Fi in your room the signal is so week in your bedroom that it barley works and they have an option to pay for faster internet which basically you pay for no internet service. Rooms are outdated, worn out and not clean.

This hotel is not worthy of a 5 star. When it comes to service, there is a serious lack of know-how. As the most notable example, we gave laundry to be cleaned and it was returned to us discolored and poorly ironed. In addition, they lost an item of clothing. Very disappointing. Even the compensation does not match the damage.

Lost our luggage. Placed us in rooms that had active remodeling and construction going on in the rooms above us for hours. Complete inability to sleep. Hammering, chiseling, DRILLING coming from directly above us for hours. Waiting for plaster to start falling down on me below. Front desk was completely aware of this and not only placed us under it, but did nothing to resolve it. Unacceptable. Dingy rooms. Stained gross carpet. Small. Would not recommend. This is not a nice hotel. Lobby looks nice.

Addendum April 1, 2024: People have been stalling by email for several weeks. Here it is claimed that no email ever arrived. I will forward it, including the confirmation of receipt, to the email address requested here. This is getting worse day by day, really disappointing! However, many other reviews here say exactly the same thing. The hotel stopped 30 years ago. The staff acts like amateurs etc. Meanwhile, and you have to admit it yourself, this house is an absolute disaster. People who only know the name or from TV may not believe it. It's best to convince yourself of it, or better not. You need to change something, urgently! At some point even the name no longer holds water. This is already making its rounds. Addendum March 6, 2024 (4 weeks later): The defect remains 100%. Unfortunately, as promised on site, the problem was not taken care of! We are extremely disappointed to have to discover this again 4 weeks later. Something like that has nothing to do with a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately, this is just one example of many… The hotel was made aware of this again in writing via email. We will no longer be guests as that was the tip of the iceberg. - Unfortunately, I don't mean any offense, the hotel is quite outdated compared to other five-star hotels. Each time there is a defect that cannot be overlooked, which in a five star hotel should actually be remedied immediately. Sockets hanging out of the wall in the lobby for several visits. Missing toilet doors (next to the nightclub), also over several visits and today broken glasses etc. on a cupboard in the men's toilet. Something like that has nothing to do with “getting old”, but simply with disorder and disinterest on the part of the individual employees (of course you can’t generalize here, but the crème de la crème already works here, based on the guest’s impression). Not for a long time.). The hotel has an external impact, a certain standing and name over the years of recurring events, but if you take a closer look, the standard, especially the condition of the hotel, unfortunately does not correspond to 450 € per night (apart from the fact that the price was the last has risen by almost €150 in 5 years). For this to happen, everything has to be perfect down to the last detail, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case here for many years. It's a shame, but we've been watching this for a long time and unfortunately there's no improvement in sight :( The location, as fair as it must be, cannot be taken away from the hotel, simply perfect! We will reorient ourselves in the future when we are private guests. Other houses have already been visited with a much better overall appearance. Even modern and above-average 4-star hotels can compete with the Bayerischer Hof on the whole (not in all areas, but overall in any case!). They cannot afford this disorder and the existing defects and contamination, perhaps due to the lack of the name “Bayerischer Hof” (Munich) worldwide. Finally, the frightening thing is that there are a lot of Google reviews of this type. Unfortunately, these are not made up, as our own impressions are the same. The location of this house is a dream! The rest is just shocking and extremely disappointing, for a hotel class like this…

Hotelbewertung: Grandhotel Bayerischer Hof, München Der Bayerische Hof in München präsentiert sich als eine erstklassige Adresse für Reisende, die Wert auf traditionellen Luxus und eine zentrale Lage legen. Bei der Ankunft wurde ich von einer exzellenten Rezeption begrüßt, die nicht nur überaus freundlich, sondern auch sehr zuvorkommend war – ein kostenloses Zimmerupgrade inklusive. Die Lage des Hotels ist kaum zu übertreffen, sie bietet einen idealen Ausgangspunkt für verschiedene Unternehmungen in der Stadt. Allerdings trübten einige Punkte das Gesamtbild: Der Concierge-Service erwies sich zwar als nett und hilfsbereit, jedoch wurden für Theaterkarten überraschend Mehrkosten -zunächst 15 Euro, auf Rückfrage 10 Euro berechnet, was einen faden Beigeschmack hinterließ. Das Zimmer punktete mit Größe und Einrichtung, jedoch ließ die Sauberkeit mit dem einen oder anderen Staubkorn zu wünschen übrig, und die schlechte Schallisolierung beeinträchtigte die Privatsphäre und Ruhe erheblich. Die Tiefgarage bot Sicherheit für das geparkte Auto, jedoch empfand ich die Gebühr von 45 Euro pro Nacht als leicht überzogen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend, wobei der Service bemüht wirkte, aber nicht herausstach. Im Bereich Wellness konnte der Pool zwar durch seine angenehme Temperatur überzeugen, doch die begrenzte Anzahl an Liegen, die zudem oft reserviert wirkten, sowie ein Saunabereich, der hinter den Erwartungen zurückblieb, minderten das Entspannungserlebnis. Das Angebot an Erfrischungen und Snacks genügte gerade dem Mindeststandard. Das Fitnessstudio, dessen Ausstattung mit einigen defekten Geräten und einer überschaubaren Gerätevielfalt enttäuschte, hätte sicherlich von einer intensiveren Planung profitieren können. Der Besuch des hoteleigenen Nachtclubs sollte ein weiteres Highlight des Aufenthalts sein, doch leider konnte auch dieser nicht voll überzeugen. Die Atmosphäre erinnerte eher an eine Ü60 Disco, als an einen exklusiven Treffpunkt. Die Preise waren für die gebotene Erfahrung unangemessen hoch – 10,20 Euro für eine Dose Red Bull und 7,40 Euro für ein kleines Glas Cola 0,2l sind schlichtweg exorbitant. Zudem schmälerte der Eintrittspreis von 15 Euro das Vergnügen zusätzlich. Insgesamt ergänzt der Nachtclub das Bild eines Hotels, das in vielen Bereichen gut aufgestellt ist, aber in Sachen Preis-Leistung und Rücksicht auf den Gast deutlich Raum für Verbesserungen lässt. Ein Lichtblick des Aufenthalts war zweifellos der Besuch der Komödie im Bayerischen Hof. Hier hat das Hotel wirklich sein Versprechen eingelöst und einen unvergesslichen Abend voller Lacher und erstklassiger Unterhaltung geboten. Die Darbietungen waren herausragend und stellten eine wahre Bereicherung des Kulturangebots dar, was den Aufenthalt im Grandhotel Bayerischer Hof aufwertete. Trotz der vorherigen Unstimmigkeiten beim Ticketkauf konnte die Komödie vollends überzeugen und hinterließ eine durchweg positive Erinnerung. Zusammengefasst bietet das Grandhotel Bayerischer Hof einen angenehmen Aufenthalt mit Luft nach oben. Einige Aspekte übertreffen die Erwartungen, andere erreichen sie gerade oder bleiben dahinter zurück. Für die beeindruckende Lage und das freundliche Personal gebe ich gerne drei von fünf Punkten.

The service was alright until the end. I filled out the room charge and added tip and the server said he needed to "check it" with a doubtful look on his face. He didn't ask any other tables that I could see because their checks were left on their tables after they had gotten up. I'm confused because I also had to give the hostess my name and room number as well. The food was nicely presented but highly salted and the flavors didn't come through. Everything was very greasy and my stomach did not feel right afterwards. It was definitely not worth the cost. It reminded me of Panda Express or any other cheap Chinese fast food. First and only time at a Trader Vics because I will never return.
