Everything looks great, but it will be a maximum of 0.3l. Probably one or two drinks even less There are snacks with the drinks free of charge

Nice location with great cocktails

We drove over 12 hours to visit this last remaining Trader Vic’s on European soil. Our highly anticipated visit turned into an absolute disappointment. Firstly, the ambiance of this venue is absolutely great. It’s modern escapism in its finest form. The table setting is a bit dated but this adds to the nostalgic atmosphere in my opinion. The people were friendly and service was quite alright. Secondly, the menu is diverse. ‘Okay’ meals and portions but a bit overpriced. Last but not least. The cocktailmenu was really extensive in this birthplace of tiki cocktails. We went for the original Mai Tai (obviously), the Koana Puffer, Tiki Puka Puka and Vic’s Itch. Our enthusiasm took a complete nosedive the moment the cocktails were delivered to the table. The overall presentation of the drinks was disappointing. If there even was a garnish, they used canned fruits and weak mint sprigs. One ‘miss’ is completely possible and probably personal, but all four cocktails were badly balanced and bland. Quite frankly these were some of the worst cocktails we’ve ever had. During our stay in Munich we’ve had better cocktails in other, ‘lesser’ bars. Tiki drinks that were well-balanced, flavourful and well-presented. In all honesty I think old Vic would turn around in his grave knowing what is going on in the Munich branche. I’ve seen that the venue is currently undergoing renovation. I hope they take this time to review their menu and bring back honour to Vic’s legacy.

Trader Vic’s in Munich is a true institution and offers an exotic experience in the middle of the Bavarian capital. Hidden in the basement of the Bayerischer Hof, when you enter you are immersed in another world - a world full of tropical atmosphere, Polynesian decorations and a touch of adventure. The furnishings are a fascinating mix of traditional South Sea elements, with lots of bamboo, carved wooden masks and exotic plants. The dimmed lighting and warm ambience immediately create a relaxed yet exciting atmosphere. The menu is as diverse as the ambience, offering a unique mix of Pacific, Asian and international dishes. Particularly noteworthy are the diverse tiki cocktails for which Trader Vic’s is world-famous. Classics like the Mai Tai or the Navy Grog not only taste great, but are also artfully prepared and served. The service at Trader Vic’s is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The employees know how to take guests on a culinary journey and are happy to provide advice if they have any questions about the sometimes unusual dishes and drinks. A highlight is certainly the option to have the food prepared directly on an open fire, which gives the whole thing an additional exotic touch. Overall, Trader Vic's in Munich is a perfect place for anyone who wants to escape everyday life and be transported into another world. Whether for a romantic dinner, a convivial evening with friends or a special occasion - Trader Vic's offers an experience that you won't quickly forget.

Great location with tasty cocktails. In our opinion, the price of the water, €13.80, was clearly too much. Nevertheless, it was a nice evening and we would like to come back.

If you want to celebrate a special day, TRADER VIC'S is highly recommended as it is definitely a special place. The food was excellent and we had incredibly friendly and very attentive service. The prices are not cheap, but okay for the Ambielt (hot lemon washcloths to clean your hands after the starter, ...), the quality of the food and the sufficient quantity to fill you up. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Das Trader Vic's hat mich rundum überzeugt. Das Essen war von hervorragender Qualität und sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam, was den Besuch zu einem angenehmen Erlebnis machte. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist wirklich schön und trägt zum Gesamterlebnis bei. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl und kann den Abend in vollen Zügen genießen. Insgesamt kann ich das Trader Vic's nur empfehlen. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch!

A culinary highlight in Munich! Trader Vic's convinced me completely. The food was of excellent quality and very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit a pleasant experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice and adds to the overall experience. You immediately feel comfortable and can enjoy the evening to the fullest. Overall, I can only recommend Trader Vic's. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Don't waste your time or money here. Food is terrible, drinks are poor, and service staff are elderly and frankly clueless. Orders taken wrongly, food not replaced to meet expectations, and they still want to bill in full and expect to be paid a tip. Frankly a total joke of a place. Surprising that this exists in such a high end hotel as I would have expected it to shut down long ago.

A hidden gem in Munich. We went here for cocktails. Good selection of rum cocktails. The Polynesian theme looks authentic. I highly recommend the Mai Tai waves and Banana Dream. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back here.

We were thrilled by the variety and taste of the dishes. The service was simply great, very friendly and professional. This restaurant will definitely be our new favorite place.

The atmosphere was good and the decoration was also nice. But the food is just not Polynesian. It's a essential a normal Chinese/Asian restaurant with nice decorations and nice cocktails. The food was a similar standard to an general Asian restaurant, but three times the price. The service was fine.

Good food, cocktails okay, there is clear potential for improvement in the service. Friendly, no question, but short and not very attentive. In the cocktails there are deductions for the canned fruit used (pineapple and peaches). Is in stark disproportion to the asking price. I missed the Polynesian touch when eating. Pan-Asian would be a more apt term for the culinary direction. The ambience seems dusty and outdated, but overall everything is clean and in good shape. I strongly recommend reconsidering the use of cardboard straws and plastic skewers (with questionable motifs). Overall, a sobering experience. At 120 euros per nose, my expectations were far exceeded.

Good drink ("Scorpion" as sharing) and atmosphere with easy access in terms of location

Ich war mit einer Freundin im Trader Vic’s, das erste Mal und gleichzeitig das letzte mal. Die Einrichtung erinnert ein bisschen an verschiedene James Bond Szenen wie der Mann mit dem Goldenen Colt (70er Jahre). Wir haben diverse Vorspeisen bestellt, alle kamen kalt a den Tisch. Die überteuerten Dim Sum schmeckten wie TK Ware und waren geschmacksneutrale Teigtaschen. Das Hähnchen war einfach nur alt und trocken und war ungenießbar. Für knappe 40 Euro habe ich das beste Curry für München erwartet aber leider ein Schnapspinchen mit Reis bekommen und eine Handvoll Hähnchen geschnitzeltes in Curry Soße, was absolut nicht den teueren Preis rechtfertigt. Auch nach unserer Beschwerde nach dem schlechten Essen, gab es kein Entgegenkommen vom Restaurant. Nicht zu Empfehlen!!!!

Totally terrible from service to food to drinks to the rip off price. You'd think that since opening in 1971, they'd learn now to make some of their classic dishes and cocktails but it was terrible. Most of the staff looked like they may even have been there since they opened. Tried a Singapore Sling and a Mai Tai and both were undrinkable... way to much sour mix in both. The dim sum was terrible and rubbery. The tempura was more like a heavy beer batter and did not come with tempura sauce but the bulk standard sweet red Thai chili sauce and wasabi avocado dip. The Peking duck was horrific. The skin was rubbery, the meat was a dark charcoal color, and the cucumbers were slimy and and on the verge of going bad. The staff couldn't have cared less. Was almost like it was a nuisance that we were interrupting them by being there. They also didn't check back after delivering the meal or clear the table when we were done. A complete at total waste of money and time. One star is too generous.

I've been eating here every now and then for over 40 years and it's always been. fantastic. Fabulous food, captivating cocktails, top service! You feel like you're in Hawai, Tahiti, Samoa... simply in the South Seas... Highly recommended!

Wir hatten uns sehr auf den Besuch im Trader Vics gefreut. Leider gibt es ja in Deutschland kein anderes mehr. Vorab gesagt, die Cocktails waren sehr lecker, der Barkeeper sehr bemüht und freundlich. Schade, dass die Deko auf fast jedem Cocktial gleich aussieht. Vom Essen waren wir hingegen sehr enttäuscht. Mit Vorfreude auf die Pekingente (120 für 2 Personen) haben wir 2 leckere Vorspeisen gegessen. Die Pekingente war aber eine große Enttäuschung. Die Qualität der Ente war sehr gut. Aber für eine Pekingente viel zu dick geschnitten, nicht so knusprig wie ich es von früher kannte. Die Hoisin Sauce war so dünnflüssig, dass sie nicht kleben blieb (habe mir dann eine andere bestellt) und die Fladen waren eher Pfannkuchen, die beim Rollen (auch vorher schon) immer gerissen sind. Das Ambiente immer noch sehr schön, aber der Service leider auch nicht mehr in den schönen Gewändern, sehr schade!

We went to Trader Vics again after a long time. The lady in service gave the impression that she was just doing a job. You can't say unfriendly, but friendliness also looks different. My non-alcoholic cocktail was very good. My husband's Mai Tai was more ice cream than anything else. The positive thing about it is that after the ice cream is melted, you get a free glass of water 😀 We'd rather go somewhere else in the future and wish the operator continued good business and all the best

It was a lovely evening with delicious food and very courteous service. We ordered a menu for 10 people, everything worked so well and was really a great enough menu. We'd love to come back!

The cocktails are always a pleasure. The spare ribs are also very tasty and unfortunately always too few.

I wanted to celebrate my birthday there because I had very fond memories of the restaurant from before...but unfortunately I have to say it has lost its shine. In the middle restaurant area where we sat there was very uncomfortable bright light and the decor has been the same for 10 years. However, the cocktails were very tasty and the quality of the food was ok. Unfortunately, a mouse appeared during the meal and ran past our table all evening. What was shocking was that the staff made no attempt to catch her, even though I always said: Now she walked this way and now she's over there... the staff felt uncomfortable and apologized, but it was She still didn't seem to care much. They said that the problem was already known. However, for a restaurant that belongs to the Bayerischer Hof, I expect something like this to be handled differently. Then you just have to close it for a while to fix it. It doesn't work at all. Feeling uneasy, we ate quickly and wanted to leave. Unfortunately, the well-intentioned birthday dessert didn't help either. I will therefore no longer visit Trader Vic's.

So when it comes to the cocktails and the dedicated, attentive service, I can only confirm the numerous positive reviews here... when it came to the "Polynesian" / Hawaiian food, however, we had to say that our dishes were more like normal Chinese-Asian cuisine... and at a rather average level…. A pity….

The restaurant is beautifully designed, the food was good, and the service definitely needs improvement. One of the appetizers we ordered was forgotten and when asked, the answer was short and succinct, it was understood differently and no more appetizers were coming. It's a shame, that was our last visit here.

We had dinner at Trader Vic’s and really enjoyed it. The ambience, the music, the service and the food were truly outstanding. The food is a mix of Asian, Hawaiian and European food. The meat was perfect, the vegetables were crunchy and the sauces were spicy. A real pleasure. The Mai Thai was perfect and went very well with the food. We were thrilled and will definitely visit Trader Vic's again.

Super leckeres Essen, tolle Cocktails und wunderbarer Service. Essen wird zum Erlebnis. Vorspeisen sind unbeschreiblich lecker. Hauptspeisen ebenfalls. Kenne keine bessere asiatische Küche in München. Lieber seltener Geld in überteuerten Restaurants mit geringer Qualität ausgeben, dafür einfach Mal wieder einen tollen Abend hier zu erleben. The waiter's attention was exceptional, he spoke to us in Spanish. The food 10 points completely recommended. The price is high but the service and the taste of the food are totally worth it. A highly recommended place to dine.

The beautiful decor has faded a bit and could use some work. The atmosphere is friendly and the service courteous. Time has passed but unfortunately no culinary evolution. As a result, the sauces are cafeteria-style! are often the same for different dishes (lamb and pork). The cooking of scallops is overdone and the lobster is sorely missing from the menu. 80€/person without wine seems exaggerated to me. This wouldn't be the case if the kitchen was more modern.

Interesting concept… a lot of show… but nothing more. Good enough for Munich but in cosmopolitan cities you would have a hard time with such fast food - it's actually a shame but for this concept the chef is a secondary factor that has to be replaceable. Of course, you can't meet everyone's taste with a franchise concept like this, especially since everyone in the chain has to earn money. The staff really give their all and the kitchen also tries to get the best out of everything with little effort. Maybe our expectations were too high. For authentic food you have to stay at home or just don't have high expectations. If you are more interested in the appearance and the drinks and are not that familiar with Asian cuisine... you should still like it here. Based on the response to my 3 star rating, I increased it to 4.

Die negativen Bewertungen haben uns animiert das Restaurant zu testen, zumal uns die Speisekarte sehr angesprochen hat. Von der Begrüssung bis zur Verabschiedung wurden wir sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Wir genossen vom herrlichen Drink zum Starter (VegiFrühlingsrollen/SesamTofuRolls), weiter beim 1.Gang (AvoMangoShrimps-Salat), zum Hauptgang (TigerPrawns mit WokGemüse) bis zum Dessert (PinaCocosCocktail) das vorzügliche Essen, in einer spannenden Lokalität und auch Komposition. Fazit: Wir können die negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Es war alles wunderbar vom Start bis zur Verabschiedung. Das Qualität seine Preis hat, ist gut so und soll auch so sein. Zudem soll das Restaurant auch was verdienen. Wir können das Restaurant nur Empfehlen und freuen uns schon auf den Vergleich im Sommer mit dem SchwesterRestaurant in Atlanta.

The cocktails are really delicious, obviously not cheap in terms of price, but it's really worth trying a few out here! We each drank 3 different ones and were really impressed with each one. The glasses in which the cocktails were served were also really fancy and unusual, so the cocktail tasted even better! Our spot in the middle of the aisle wasn't the best or most comfortable, but the friendliness of the staff made up for it!

We were there for dinner and loved it. Super friendly and attentive staff in an exceptional location. It almost felt like a vacation. The starters are unusually seasoned and very, very tasty. Our main courses had great sauces and were also very tasty. It's not cheap, but the price/performance ratio is really okay - 4 shrimps, 4 scallops and 2 pieces of fish on the plate are worth the money. The portions were big enough for us to be really full. After a starter and a main course per person, unfortunately there was absolutely no room left for dessert :-( Special highlight: the bombastic green papaya salad - we will definitely come back for that alone (and not only)!

We were in the bar this evening full of anticipation. No greeting from the staff. The bartender looked like he didn't feel like doing anything. Unfortunately we didn't feel well. Our drinks... I've had far better in "cheaper" bars. Drinks here were slapped on the counter, no small talk, nothing. There was also no farewell. I've never experienced anything like this before. You can save yourself. Especially the money. Don't go!!!

I have known this restaurant for many years. In this long time the menu has hardly changed. Anyone who appreciates Asian cuisine will find a tasty and imaginatively prepared selection from a wide variety of Asian regions. Both meat and fish dishes are served - but vegetarians also get their money's worth here. The sauces are masterful. The ambience has also hardly changed in the last 20 years - many of the decorations are really getting old, which you can tell. The large selection of cocktails is also noteworthy. Unfortunately, the service is as unfriendly and impersonal as it is rare. Nowadays you just get processed - things used to be different. It's a shame, because the foreign flair is conveyed well here and would still be attractive...

In addition to all the good things, there are also a few things to complain about: We bought a water bottle (Plose 1957), but it was quite expensive (€15.20). The Plose water is a €1 cheap product that was not listed on the drinks menu. You can get an impression of the quality of the bottle in the picture. In terms of drinks, we then bought a cocktail option for 2 (Tikibowl). The bowl was broken in one corner. In addition, the variety of fruits in the bowl were not expressed. In my training as a bartender, I learned this differently (at least with limes). The food (wok dishes) was good, but the taste and the choice of ingredients were only slightly better than a conventional Thai/Chinese restaurant. The concept of the store is inconsistent. On the one hand, the wonderful ambience suggests Hawaii or Polynesia. On the other hand, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indonesian, Malaysian, etc. dishes are offered. In my opinion, Southeast Asia is to be distinguished from East Asia and Polynesia.

CON: Nowadays and in this price segment, it's really not possible to cook with glutamate or flavor enhancers!! Please get soy sauce without it, it shouldn't be that difficult. For the operator's answer, see excerpts from the map. Number 4 is flavor enhancer as stated. I also specifically asked the staff and they confirmed that the soy sauce used contains glutamate. The number 4 is behind almost every dish!

Great service, very attentive, quick and was able to distribute the ordered dishes to each guest without any problem (there were 8 people). The food was very tasty, but unfortunately far too expensive. Given the price, you can expect a little more. Otherwise, the restaurant is very cozy and, thanks to the winding arrangement, not too loud. But I don't have to go there again.

Ich liebe diese Bar! Ich will nie wieder in eine andere Bar. Wenn doch, will ich, dass alle Bars so sind wie diese!!!!

Wir habe im Bayerischen Hof übernachtet und da wir ein Konzert besucht haben, wollten wir davor ein kleines Abendessen einnehmen. An der Rezeption gefragt---kein Problem, in jedem der Restaurants haben wir Platz. Fehlanzeige, alles war belegt und kein Platz mehr. Es blieb nur übrig ins Traders Vic´s zu gehen, asiatisches Food, aber ok für ein kleines Dinner. Ablauf wie üblich, wir setzen uns hin, Kellner kommt und frägt nach den Drinks...zumindest eine Flasche Wasser. Das war dann unser größter Fehler. Das Essen war ok, schnell und einigermaßen gut. Aber eine Flasche Wasser kostet 15,00 €. Das habe ich noch nie erlebt und das werde ich auch nicht mehr erleben. Ab jetzt werde ich in jedem Lokal dieser Welt erst fragen was ein Wasser kostet. Aber im Traders Vics ist das einfach nur Abzocke. Konsequenz: Bayerischer Hof für uns gestorben. Das lasse ich mir nicht bieten, einen Aufschlag von ca. 1000% bis 2000% auf den Einkaufspreis. Das kann KEINER auch nur irgendwie argumentieren, dass das gerechtfertigt sein soll.. Schade, aber ich denke das Hotel braucht keine Gäste wie uns...

Es war alles wunderbar. Eine Kritik: die helle Sauce vom Mixed Grill Teller war ungenießbar, sie war kalt, hat gestockt und nach wenig geschmeckt. Ich bin mir sicher, Sie können das besser ;)"

Das Restaurant war auch am 01. Januar gut besucht und der Service trotz langer Nacht freundlich und aufmerksam. Der Mai Tai Cocktail war ausgesprochen lecker. Leider waren die Chinesischen Öfen nicht in Betrieb, darauf haben wir uns gefreut. Die Vorspeisen waren gut, besonders die Spare Ribs. Die Hauptspeisen hätten durchaus exotischer sein können. So schmeckte es sehr nach üblichem China Restaurant. Das Interieur ist aber besonders, wer Tiki mag, findet hier ein Paradies.

Das Essen war qualitativ sehr gut, jedoch für die Menge sehr teuer. Das Ambiente hat uns angesprochen. Leider muss ich mich an einige Kommentare anschließen bezüglich Personal. Man hat sich sehr beobachtet gefühlt. Der Kellner hat darauf gewartet, dass wir schnell essen und bezahlen, obwohl 70 Prozent des Ladens leer war. Wahrscheinlich wird das unser letzter Besuch.

Wie immer, leckerchen! 🌞 Nicht gerade günstig, aber das weiss man ja bevor man sich hier niederlässt, Qualität und Service gleichbleibend gut seit Jahrzehnten! Cocktails 🍹 immer sehr, sehr gut!

Nach den doch durchmischten Bewertungen hier war ich ein wenig skeptisch. Insgesamt war es dann doch ein sehr netter Abend. Ich würde dieses Lokal wieder besuchen. Eine Garderobe im Lokal gibt es nicht; man muss die Garderobe des Hotel nutzen. 8,- für zwei Mäntel sind schon ein wenig frech. Günstig ist es auch im Restaurant nicht. Uns haben die bestellten Gerichte sehr gut geschmeckt und die Portionen waren wirklich ordentlich. Ob ein 08/15-Wein gut 20,- pro Glas kosten muss, sei dahingestellt. Um es zusammenzufassen: Der Besuch hat sich gelohnt. Aber es war schon ein teures Vergnügen.

Das Essen war gut, der Service nur mittelmäßig. Wir mussten lang auf Bedienung und Getränke warten. Das Ambiente und die Lautstärke war wie in einer Kneipe. Sorry ... wenn man in die Bar geht um den Abend gemütlich ausklingen zu lassen und dann laut schreiende junge Leute im Lokal sind, danke da fühlt man sich nicht wohl. Mein Geld gebe ich lieber in einem Restaurant/Bar mit Niveau aus.

Hinterläßt einen zwiespältigen Eindruck.... Wir hatten für Sa., den 18.11.23 um 19:15 Uhr eine Reservierung und nach dem aufwändigen Reservierungsprocedere eine etwas individuellere Begrüßung vor Ort erwartet. Es war sehr voll, was eventuell der Black Friday Woche geschuldet ist. Ein erster Mangel am TV im bayerischen Hof ist, dass es im Restaurant selbst keine Garderobe gibt. Wir und andere Gäste wurden darauf hingewiesen, dass eine Garerobe "oben" im Foyer des BH zur Verfügung stehe. Fast kein Gast nutzte diese Option, was dazu führte, dass an allen Tischen um uns herum, dicke Winterjacken und -mäntel über die Stuhllehnen drapiert werden, was das wunderschöne Ambiente etwas ad absurdum führt und kein bequemes Sitzen erlaubt. Das Essen war gut und erstaunlich reichlich und entsprach voll unseren Erwartungen. Auch die Cocktails waren sehr ordentlich. Soweit Alles top! Warum allerdings eine Flasche stilles Wasser, das offensichtlich aus Südtirol importiert wird (muss so etwas wirklich sein?) mit 15 € berechnet wird, das können wir absolut nicht nachvollziehen und halten es für - sorry - Wucher. Auch die Standardspirituosen sind preislich wirklich mehr, als nur gehobenes Niveau. Ein 4 cl Whisky zu einem Preis, für den ich im Handel 2 Flaschen kaufen kann... das geht einfach gar nicht. Am meisten enttäuscht waren wir jedoch vom Personal: Der Service war schlicht unterirdisch. Weder sprachen die 3 Bedienungen, mit denen wir im Laufe des Abends Kontakt hatten, ausreichend deutsch, noch waren sie geschultes Personal. So reduzierte sich die Konversation aufs allernötigste und die Freundlichkeit und Höflichkeit blieb auf der Strecke. Am Nachbartisch war einer Dame Ihre weisse Winterjacke von derStuhllehne auf den Boden gerutscht. Fast eine Stunde lang turnte das Servicepersonal um die Tische und um die Jacke herum und ignorierte sie vollständig. Erst als wir eine der Servicekräfte explizit darauf ansprachen, wurde die Jacke - sehr wiederwillig und ohne die geringste Empathie - aufgehoben und der Dame in den Rücken geknautscht. So etwas mit anzusehen, ist wirklich unterste Schublade. Als wir nach Digestiven gefragt haben, kam Niemand darauf, uns eine Karte vorzulegen. Stattdessen wurde uns fragend "Schnaps?" angeboten und das war es dann. 5*-Niveau ist das Alles leider nicht. Wir würden gerne, wegen des an sich schönen Ambientes und des doch sehr besonderen Essens wiederkommen, aber ob uns solch eine mieserable Serviceerfahrung noch einmal 260 € wert ist, das müssen wir erst noch einige viele Nächte überschlafen.

Einfach immer wieder ein Erlebnis. Traumhafte Cocktails, tolles Ambiente und hervorragendes Essen. Es finden sich ein paar neue Gerichte auf der Karte. Der gemischte Fischteller mit Hummersauce - zum dahinschmelzen. Die Vorspeisen - einfach unverzichtbar. Man muss hier einfach immer wieder herkommen.

War wie immer sehr gut. Ich gehe gerne ab und an in das Trader Vic's, da fühle ich mich so richtig wohl.

Nach vielen Jahren mal wieder da gewesen und sehr enttäuscht. Das Lokal hat keine außergewöhnliche Küche mehr zu bieten und ist dazu auch noch sehr teuer. Ambiente und Service wie gewohnt gut

Von „vorne bis hinten“ einfach Spitzenklasse!

Das Ambiente ist wirklich toll, da stimmt alles. Das Essen war nicht schlecht, aber Preis Leistung stimmt, wenn man ehrlich ist, nicht. Bei den Preisen dürfte man eigentlich ein höheres Niveau der Küche erwarten. Optisch alles top, aber Geschmack und Raffinesse haben mir gefehlt. Die Cocktails waren sehr gut, da kann man nicht meckern. Bei den sonstigen Getränkepreisen muss man fast von unverschämt sprechen. 15€ für einen Liter Wasser. Wein geht außer beim Rosé bei 50€ die Flasche los, demnach kostet ein Glas 0,2 auch 15€ aufwärts. Kein Wunder, dass der Reiter eine Wasser Preisbremse einführen will, nach einem Besuch in Trader Vics weiß man warum. Also zusammengefasst, Ambiente ein Erlebnis, Essen bräuchte entweder mehr Qualität oder günstigere Preise, bei den Getränken nehmen sie es vom Lebendigen. Aber für einen Cocktail lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall

Das Essen war durchweg sehr gut. Wäre jedes Gericht ca. 10 Euro billiger dann wäre das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis top. So muss man sagen bekommt man für +/- 50 Euro für ein Hauptgericht ein tolles Essen, aber in dem Segment gibt es schon Besseres. Der Service war leider schlecht. Es laufen und stehen unglaublich viele Menschen rum, aber wirklich kompetent (oder befugt) waren nur Wenige. So mussten wir unser Pils dreimal bestellen bis es kam und dann war nach 2 Minuten der Schaum weg. Jacken wurden erst abgenommen nachdem man ratlos am Tisch saß und selbst zu verstauen versuchte. Meine Speisekarte hatte ich den ganzen Abend zwischen Rücken und Stuhl eingeklemmt... Insgesamt der Preisklasse und des Hauses wo sich das Restaurant befindet, nicht angemessen. Es war nett, sehr lecker, aber jetzt haben wirs gesehen und dabei bleibt es wohl auch.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen und super leckere Coktails. Pflicht bei zukünftigen München Besuchen. Immer wieder gerne.

War bisher eins der besten Restaurants wenn sie nicht bisher in München war. Cocktails super ausgefallen keine 08 15 Sachen Essen war Mega lecker nur die Preise sind schon ziemlich gesalzen aber für einen schönen Abend kann ihn das auch das wert. Sein Bedienung war sehr freundlich und sonst war ich auch sehr zufrieden.

Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm. Es gibt nicht viele vegetarische Optionen, aber wenn man dorthin geht, hat man eine Auswahl, es ist nicht so, dass es nur zwei Zubereitungen oder einen Salat gibt und das war's. Für mich und meinen Partner war es in Ordnung. Was mir neben der schönen und authentischen Atmosphäre des Restaurants am besten gefallen hat, waren die Getränke. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Geschmack und ihre Präsentation gab uns das Gefühl, ganz in das Restaurant einzutauchen. Sehr freundliches Personal. Wir hatten eine Reservierung und kamen 10 Minuten vor der Zeit und es war kein Problem. Wir bekamen einen schönen Tisch zugewiesen und sie waren sehr aufmerksam auf das, was wir brauchten.

Hier stimmt einfach alles! Die Cocktails sind sehr lecker und ausgefallen und die Mitarbeiter tun ihr bestes, den Kunden rundum zu verwöhnen. Das rechtfertigt absolut den höheren Preis.

Köstliches Essen, die weltweit besten Cocktails, stimmungsvolles Ambiente und zuvorkommender Service. Immer wieder ein Genuss!

Hometown of the MaiTai ! Die waren wirklich gut. Das Essen war eher mittelklasse.

Meine Freundin und ich besuchten das Trader Vic’s aufgrund der guten Erfahrungsberichte. Wir wurden sehr nett begrüßt und bekamen einen gemütlichen Tisch zugewiesen. Die Karte bietet ein große Auswahl an exotischen Speisen und Cocktails. Die Dim Sum zur Vorspeise waren geschmacklich gut und kamen mit zwei Saucen. Die Hauptspeisen waren unsere Highlights, der Butterfisch perfekt gegart in einer würzigen Sauce. Die Garnelen ebenfalls im perfekten Gargrad und einer guten Gemüseauswahl. Die Nachspeisen rundeten das Menü ideal ab. Der Service war zuvorkommend und höflich, das Ambiente ist einladend und gemütlich. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist gehoben, die Portionsgrößen jedoch großzügig und in Anbetracht der Qualität aus meiner Sicht akzeptabel. Alles in allem eine klare Empfehlung meinerseits!

Nach Jahren wieder mal hier, im letzten verbliebenen Trader Vic's - Hamburg und Berlin sind seit Jahren dicht. Die Speisekarte ist die gleiche wie vor 30 Jahren, gut so. Die Cocktail-Karte führt noch immer den Suffering Bastard, Dr. Funk's Sohn und andere Leckereien auf. Die Einrichtung und Deko ist so wie vor Jahren. Natürlich haben sich die Preise deutlich erhöht, für Weine sind sie unverschämt hoch. Die fröhlich-lächelnde Südsee-Mentalität der Bedienungen der früheren Jahre habe ich vermisst, das Ambiente leidet!

Ich kenne und liebe dieses seit über 50 Jahren existierende Restaurant seit meiner Jugend und die regelmäßigen Besuche mit Freunden, meiner Frau und jetzt mit meiner ganzen Familie waren immer etwas besonderes. Worauf ich mich immer verlassen konnte war die Qualität und Konstanz der Gerichte und vor allem auch der Getränke. Die Cocktails waren eine Klasse für sich. Bei unserem letzten Besuch war zum einen die Platzierung im Durchzug in der Nähe zum Serviceausgang unglücklich. Auch das Essen, das ich seit vielen Jahren bestelle war nicht von der gewohnten Qualität. Dies betraf vor allem die Zubereitung, die lustlos und unprofessionell wirkte. Teile der Gerichte ertranken in schlecht abgeschmeckter Sauce von lauwarmer Temperatur. Letztlich hat mir dann noch die Kalkulation der Mineralwasserflaschen die Laune verhagelt….wie so vielen anderen vor mir auch, wenn man die letzten Bewertungen liest. Alles in allem keine gute Performance. Unseren nächsten Besuch werden wir erst mal verschieben.

Waren am frühen Abend dort. Essen, Service und Getränke hervorrargend. Die Ente ein Gedicht, Cosmo Tidbits exzellent. Die Cocktails nicht nur optisch, sondern auch geschmacklich extravagant und sehr gut. Wie in alten Zeiten.......

Riesige Auswahl in der Seisekarte, für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Ambiete sehr schön und besonders. Cocktails schmecken gut, Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider gibt es kein Sushi

Wir waren zum Geburtstag unserer Tochter dort und können die vielen negativen Bewertungen der letzten Besucher eigentlich nicht bestätigen. Das Essen war gut. Nicht mehr sehr gut wie früher - aber gut. Die Vorspeisen sind nach wie vor das Highlight. Die Hauptgänge aber auch absolut in Ordnung. Portionsgrössen ok. Lediglich die Cocktails enttäuschen auf fast ganzer Linie. Viel Eis, wenig Geschmack. Teilweise schon fast unverschämt kleine Gläser. Eine 0,4 l Cola light mit 12.80€ sucht selbst in Münchens Spitzenhotellerie Ihresgleichen. Ein Espresso für 5.60€ ist auch grenzwertig aber gut. Was jedoch einfach ÜBERHAUPT GAR NICHT geht, ist, dass ich bei einer Gesamtrechnung von über € 300 plus knapp 90€ an Falks Bar zum Apero für 3 Jacken 10,50 für die Garderobe zahlen soll. In solch einem Haus bin ich es nirgendwo auf der Welt gewohnt, für die Garderobe zu zahlen. Und wenn schon keine Garderobe im Trader Vic’s ist, ist es das Mindeste, dass ein Mitarbeiter mir anbietet, die Garderobe für mich nach oben zu bringen und mir nicht mit einem Nicken Richtung Treppe „den Weg deutet“. Alternativ wurde mir angeboten, die Mäntel doch zusammenzurollen und auf die Bank neben mich zu legen. Echt jetzt??? Abstand zum Nachbartisch keine 50cm. Da soll ich jetzt 3 Mäntel und Schals hinquetschen??? Fazit. Man kann nach wie vor in Trader Vic’s gehen. Aber muss man? Das entscheidet wohl jeder besser für sich selber.

1.) Tisch zugewiesen bekommen, der im Durchzug stand. Reklamiert...darauf kam die Inof, dass sie gerade Probleme mit der Heizung haben...und die Tür nicht richtig schließe (Dezember 2022) 2.) Neuen Tisch zugewiesen bekommen, der zwar nicht im Zug stand, dafür mussten wir 30 Minuten warten, um eine Bestellung aufgeben zu können. 3.) 6 Dim Sum als Vorspeise bestellt... 2 davon probiert, diese waren außen warm, innen gefroren 4.) Reklamiert...darauf bekamen wir nur noch die restlichen 4 Dim Sum erhitzt 5.) Kellner gebeten, uns eine Empfehlung zu geben, was eine besondere Spezialität wäre...daraufhin konnte er uns keine Antwort geben, stieg dafür zweimal auf meinen Fuß, ohne es zu bemerken. 6.) Hauptgericht total enttäuschend...das gleiche Gericht, was vor Jahren immer fantastisch war, schmeckte nicht mehr. 7.) Wir wollten diesmal unseren Hochzeitstag dort feiern - NIE WIEDER! Das einstige so besondere Traders Vic gibt es leider nicht mehr!

The decor in this Trader Vic is absolutely impressive. It is quickly becoming one of the last original establishments from the Tiki heydays. A true treasure! Wander around, and you will be impressed by the Polynesian art, workmanship, and all the little details that went into creating this gem. The best escape from a dreary Munich day. Whenever I am in town, this is a must-go place for me, and unlike the hotel, whose basement it uses, it is unpretentious, so you may come as you are and you will be made welcome by the whole staff. As I have only been there for cocktails, I cannot rate the quality of the food, but the cocktails are made true to their original recipes (note: the Mai Tai was invented by Trader Vic's), and you will definitely not get the overly sweet and artificial concoctions that other bars may serve you as (incorrectly labeled) "tropical drinks". I will be a patron for many years to come, and should I ever live in Munich, I will definitely become a regular. A five star establishment, and an attraction on its own.

Wir wollten nach einem Theaterbesuch noch einen Cocktail trinken. Traders Vic's war uns immer als besonderes Restaurant mit schöner Atmosphäre und guten Cocktails in Erinnerung. Wir bestellten dort den angeblich besten Mai Tai. Für € 15,90 kam ein keines Glas, was überhaupt nicht nach Mai Tai schmeckte. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und werden dort bestimmt nicht wieder hingehen.

Die exotischen Cocktails waren OK, aber bei der Rechnung trauten wir unseren Augen nicht: 2 Flaschen Wasser kosten 32.80€
