The food is okay but it is incredibly small and crowded. One gets to basically share the table with strangers. No intimacy at all. And the prices are not on the inexpensive side too...

Mangetsu City, a centrally located Japanese restaurant, offers a decent dining experience with a unique twist. While the atmosphere might lack warmth, the food is undeniably the star of the show – fresh, flavorful dishes arriving quickly to satisfy any craving. Service is efficient, but it's the memorable encounters that truly set this place apart. As a tourist, I had an amusing exchange with an older woman who, in a mix of German and Japanese, informed me it was closing time, prompting a quick check of Google Maps to confirm their hours. Overall, Mangetsu City is a decent option for a quick and tasty Japanese meal, but be prepared for some potentially interesting interactions and a possible hasty exit.

We were super positively surprised! We stumbled in without any prior knowledge of the store's concept and were immediately greeted warmly by everyone. The food is served to the standing guests in small spaces on the right and left along the dining room - it is a bit cramped and cozy, but it is twice as much fun because a completely different interaction takes place than when everyone is sitting at their little table. We tried out the (rather meat-heavy) menu and were surprised. In the end, each of us was able to choose a favorite on the menu and we went on to the theater full and happy about the surprisingly positive experience :) clear recommendation!

The Tatami was or is a great restaurant. It sometimes takes longer, yes. But the food is always fresh and delicious! I enjoyed it where there were frames and you were able to measure something new and great every time, even during the problems with Covid. Unfortunately, I moved away and read that you are closing in the near future. That was a hard blow for me. I have always enjoyed it and hope that at least everyone who is tempted to eat here does so. Because the Tatami was and is autistic cuisine at its best.
