Everything at its best. But not for those on a budget. High quality top cuisine. Super nice service. We chose the 5 course surprise. Just WOW. Toilet in the basement.

The worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life has to throw away two entire pizzas

We were very positively impressed. Everything was perfect.

We were there with close family and spent about 4 entertaining hours. The staff was very attentive, helpful and gave us a pleasant time in a pleasant atmosphere. There were around 20 people there and we were given a three-course menu followed by dessert as a buffet. The food was very good and the quality of the dishes was excellent. By the way, we were full too. The tiramisu and panna cotta as dessert rounded the whole thing off perfectly. What should be particularly emphasized is that all dishes are always freshly prepared. Of course, this takes longer than just warming up food that has already been prepared, but it is worth every minute of waiting. Thanks to the entire team for a successful afternoon, even though the occasion was a very sad one.

The food is not outstanding, but okay. The service is a disaster. The older gentleman (waiter?) seems totally arrogant. He takes the order almost wordlessly and responds to questions and requests with annoyance. Drinks are put down without a word. It makes the guest feel unwelcome. I can therefore not make a recommendation. A beautiful evening looks different.

Before I get to my visit to La Perla Nera, I would like to briefly point out something that caught my eye: There are some reviews that seem very negative at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that these often come from users who have only given a few reviews. This suggests that these are personal experiences and are not necessarily representative of the restaurant as a whole. La Perla Nera in Merzig impressed me with its authentic Italian cuisine. The pizza I tried was of a quality that you often only find in real Italian pizzerias. The dough was perfect, the toppings were fresh and the flavors were just right. The prices for this are a bit high, but in my opinion it's still appropriate. I would like to recommend the restaurant to keep up with the times and offer a few more vegetarian or even vegan alternatives. The atmosphere is cozy, but the restaurant could certainly do with a little modernization. It seems a bit old-fashioned. We found our spot right at the entrance particularly uncomfortable, where the constantly opening and closing door created an unpleasant draft. We were served by a very young and friendly lady. Unfortunately, she seemed a bit overwhelmed, so we had to draw attention to ourselves several times. What was particularly annoying was that I had to point out several times that I would receive the bill because I had traveled by train and had to make short connections. There is definitely a need for optimization here. Conclusion: La Perla Nera offers excellent cuisine, but the service could still be improved. With a little more attention and a small renovation, the restaurant had the potential to become a real insider tip in Merzig. In order to optimize the ambience, I would recommend no longer using the area directly at the entrance for guests.
