La Perla Nera in Merzig

Before I get to my visit to La Perla Nera, I would like to briefly point out something that caught my eye: There are some reviews that seem very negative at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that these often come from users who have only given a few reviews. This suggests that these are personal experiences and are not necessarily representative of the restaurant as a whole. La Perla Nera in Merzig impressed me with its authentic Italian cuisine. The pizza I tried was of a quality that you often only find in real Italian pizzerias. The dough was perfect, the toppings were fresh and the flavors were just right. The prices for this are a bit high, but in my opinion it's still appropriate. I would like to recommend the restaurant to keep up with the times and offer a few more vegetarian or even vegan alternatives. The atmosphere is cozy, but the restaurant could certainly do with a little modernization. It seems a bit old-fashioned. We found our spot right at the entrance particularly uncomfortable, where the constantly opening and closing door created an unpleasant draft. We were served by a very young and friendly lady. Unfortunately, she seemed a bit overwhelmed, so we had to draw attention to ourselves several times. What was particularly annoying was that I had to point out several times that I would receive the bill because I had traveled by train and had to make short connections. There is definitely a need for optimization here. Conclusion: La Perla Nera offers excellent cuisine, but the service could still be improved. With a little more attention and a small renovation, the restaurant had the potential to become a real insider tip in Merzig. In order to optimize the ambience, I would recommend no longer using the area directly at the entrance for guests.

Rating for the restaurant Perla Nera in Merzig We visited Perla Nera Restaurant on December 25th with a reservation at 12pm for three people. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but satisfactory. First we ordered the Christmas menu (€45 per person), consisting of two starters, a main course and a dessert, as well as a bottle of water and a Sprite. The starters were served promptly and were fine. But then the chaos began. By 1:45 p.m. the main course had still not been served. When we asked politely, we were told that we had simply been forgotten. We were also not offered the opportunity to order additional drinks. Even after another 30 minutes of waiting, the main course was not in sight. So at 2:15 p.m. we decided to leave the restaurant without the main course. When paying we were told that we didn't know what was going to be charged. When we then suggested that we wouldn't pay anything, the landlord appeared screaming and threatening to call the police - instead of apologizing for the inconvenience. Of course, we ended up paying for everything we consumed, but the entire situation was inappropriate and unpleasant. Conclusion: The restaurant was obviously overwhelmed, both in the kitchen and in the service. We strongly recommend that you only accept reservations to the extent that existing staff can handle them. Unfortunately, our Christmas dinner was a fiasco. 1/5 stars. Ladies and Gentlemen We would like to emphasize that we obviously paid for everything we consumed and it was by no means our intention to leave the restaurant without paying. This assumption is incorrect. And we forbid ourselves to make such a claim!!! In addition, it is not true that we “rejected” the third course due to lack of time. The main course simply wasn't served, even though we waited more than two hours. Unfortunately, even our inquiries did not result in the problem being solved. We expressed our criticism objectively and politely because we expect a different quality of service from a restaurant in this price range. Wir besuchten das Restaurant Perla Nera in Merzig am 25. Dezember mit einer Reservierung um 12 Uhr für drei Personen. Leider war unser Erlebnis alles andere als zufriedenstellend. Zunächst bestellten wir das Weihnachtsmenü (45 € pro Person), bestehend aus zwei Vorspeisen, einem Hauptgericht und einem Dessert, sowie eine Flasche Wasser und ein Sprite. Die Vorspeisen wurden zeitnah serviert und waren in Ordnung. Doch danach begann das Chaos. Bis 13:45 Uhr war der Hauptgang noch immer nicht serviert. Auf höfliches Nachfragen wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass man uns schlicht vergessen hatte. Auch die Möglichkeit, weitere Getränke zu bestellen, wurde uns nicht angeboten. Selbst nach einem weiteren Warten von 30 Minuten war der Hauptgang nicht in Sicht. Um 14:15 Uhr beschlossen wir daher, das Restaurant ohne den Hauptgang zu verlassen. Beim Bezahlen wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass man nicht wisse, was abgerechnet werden solle. Als wir daraufhin andeuteten, nichts zu zahlen, erschien der Wirt laut schreiend und drohte mit der Polizei – anstatt sich für die Unannehmlichkeiten zu entschuldigen. Letztendlich bezahlten wir natürlich alles, was wir konsumiert hatten, doch die gesamte Situation war unangemessen und unangenehm. Fazit: Das Restaurant war offensichtlich überfordert, sowohl in der Küche als auch im Service. Wir empfehlen dringend, Reservierungen nur in einem Umfang anzunehmen, der vom vorhandenen Personal bewältigt werden kann. Unser Weihnachtsessen war leider ein Fiasko. 1/5 Sterne.

Ohne Worte. Wir waren dort mit 14 Leuten zum Weihnachtsessen. Es war noch genau ein Glas Lambrussco vorhanden 😏 Ich hatte hausgemachte Ravioli mit Tomatensauce! Ich dachte ich sehe nicht richtig 7 Ravioli auf dem Teller in der Grösse der von Maggi aus der Konserve. Vom Geschmack her ähnlich! Die Tomatensauce war aufgewärmter Tomatenmark. Wir mussten über eine halbe Stunde warten, bis die Bestellung aufgenommen wurde. Immer wieder wurde gesagt komme sofort. Ständig roch es nach verbrannter Pizza. Ich für meinen Teil war dort zum 2. Mal. Das erste Mal war genauso ein Reinfall. Aber jeder hat eine 2. Chance verdient. Leider nicht überzeugt! Wir sehen uns nicht wieder 🙂‍↔️

Tolle überdurchschnittlich gute Pizzen, top freundliche Bedienung. Wir mussten weder für die Bestellung warten, noch für das Bringen, obwohl es sehr viele Gäste hatte. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen.

2nd attempt since opening Vitello Tonnato too little (capers) for the money: €18.50 It took far too long on both attempts. (1 hour until the appetizer - 2 hours until the pizza, lasagne or salad) When I visit the Italian restaurant for the first time, I always rate it on the basis of lasagna: on the first visit there was none, yesterday it was a huge chunk of dough sheets and boiled ham with too little sauce and partly burnt. Mosquito plague in the guest room. Service was friendly.

Long waiting time (almost 1 hour). Tables too close to each other. No space. Kitchen is ok. Service was friendly.

I was there for the first time today. The food was very good. Nice cozy restaurant.

The two of us ate at la Perla nera. We each had a pizza and I was immediately impressed. A real Italian pizza that I only know from Italy. My mouth was watering when I saw the other guests' dishes 😋 I will now visit this restaurant more often and can only recommend it to everyone.

First of all, we have wheat/gluten intolerance and I have celiac disease. The male waiter didn't speak German well and didn't want to understand what I wanted. I pointed out that we could only eat foods without flour/wheat. His comment was "there is a pizzaria but it's bad". We didn't choose the restaurant, we were invited by friends for our birthday. In the end all that remained was a dry piece of grilled turkey meat and a fried potato with some grilled vegetables. Even fries weren't possible, as only one deep fryer was used for everything (including breaded ones). Ultimately it was a dry and spartan delight. We went home almost as hungry as we came. This visit was a total failure for us. I also got a lot of jokes afterwards because there was probably gluten in it somewhere. Unfortunately, the understanding of this disease still leaves something to be desired. Too bad.

Were here for the first time and we found that it was incredibly tasty. Never had such delicious lasagne before. All 4 dishes are a dream. We'll be back

Update: I was there with the family and unfortunately I have to say that it was probably the last time. Nippy service, fabulous prices and the smallest portions or children's portions. And after we noted this on the bill, we were brushed off without much explanation or accommodation. Food was good as usual but that was it. Not again so soon :-( - We've been there several times now and all I can say is that we really enjoyed both the food and the service. The price-performance ratio is also right. Always my pleasure.

This food is like the restaurant: prepared with a lot of love. One of the best restaurants in the entire area.

Probably the worst pizzeria in the district! The food was a complete disaster. Antipasti starter for 2 people was extremely overpriced - one wondered what would have been on it for one person. 24 € In addition, no olives, no dried tomatoes, no pepperoni and much more...but a few slices of Italian salami - very poor! Pizza salami was okay. Pizza Marinara was everything but no marinara. The sauce was pure tomato, the toppings were very "limited" and had no taste, the calamari was like rubber and just mush in the middle...and cold. 17.90 € Then the highlight and also the most expensive dish: beef fillet strips (according to the menu) with risotto. That was everything except fillet and, to be honest, tough meat like the sole of a shoe...and it wasn't warm either. €24.50 Aperol Spritz (April Joke) was everything but no Aperol - apparently / in terms of taste, no original Aperol is used, even if it is on display. All in all, simply not recommended. We tried it, but it didn't compare to many other places nearby and our family definitely won't be seen there again. When he commented to the waiter, he simply remarked...okay - I'll tell the kitchen! Otherwise RIEN! It wasn't even worth a try and is absolutely not recommended. Addendum: The owner apparently has a lot of problems with constructive criticism - but that runs like a common thread through all the worse reviews on Google. Deducting customers' money for poor quality and then responding in such a personally insulting and unqualified way - that speaks for itself!

This week I went to La Perla Nera for the first time with two friends. The drinks and food we ordered came quite quickly and the service staff was very friendly. The portions were quite overpriced for the price we paid. The taste was good. Unfortunately I can't go there with my family because none of them would be fed.

Very very very good 🍕 pizza. Pasta is always delicious too. The service is always friendly. Unfortunately there is little parking space. But you can find a parking space in the area in less than five minutes. Keep it up. You are on the right track...👍👍👍👍👍

Update: unfortunately another price increase. I won't/wouldn't/can't order here anymore. The ratios here are simply no longer right for a really small pizza. It's the best though Neapolitan pizza in the Merzig area, but everything has its limits. Mine has been reached. Bye La Pearl Nera

An authentic Italian restaurant! Class. We were 8 people with our ship crew. There and were not disappointed. The food was timed well, everything came at the same time and everything was super tasty. Recommended!

Das Essen und der Service haben mir sehr gut gefallen, vor allem die Pizza, die ist hier auf höchstem Niveau, der Kellner hat die Bestellung schnell aufgenommen und gebracht, ich werde diesen Ort öfter besuchen.

Wir waren im Rahmen eines Familientreffens dort. Freundlicher Service.Guter Wein. Gute Pastagerichte. Die besten Pizzen

Unfortunately we are very disappointed with our visit. Except for the antipasti plate, nothing was right at all. Here are just a few negative examples: - Table very narrow and in the passage (you had to move it to sit down and stand up) - Served alcohol to a pregnant woman (despite ordering non-alcoholic) - Empty glasses were not taken away and no one asked if they would like to drink something else - Meat dish very small - Calamari with 8 tiny potato pieces (no one gets tired of that) - Pizza was good on the outside, totally soggy in the middle - Knife thrown into lap by waitress while clearing away - for a tip of almost 10 euros (an older waitress was really friendly and apologized at least several times for the alcoholic drink) no thanks Tip: Mistakes happen and are completely human, but in order to keep customers, you should perhaps buy a coffee or something similar on the house at the end and at least say thank you for the tip. A pity! We're definitely not coming back.

I ordered three pizzas through Lieferando. Online I was given a waiting time of 20-45 minutes. The fact that it can take an hour isn't a problem, but our pizzas were delivered just 2 hours after we ordered. After an hour I called the restaurant and asked. A nice and helpful woman told me that the restaurant was completely overbooked both inside and out and it would simply take longer. The pizzas were on the table way too late, but they were delicious. However, I will no longer order here

The pizzas were very good. Unfortunately, the children were not satisfied with the noodle dishes. The portions were far too small. The service wasn't good. The drinks only came to the table with the main courses.

One of the worst restaurants I have ever visited. There wasn't much going on that evening and you still had to wait a total of 1 1/2 hours for the main courses. That's not understandable to me, with the competition you don't have to wait that long. After the dishes finally arrived, the next disappointment came. I ordered the grill plate for €33. In the end there were 6 pieces of baked potato on the plate and very little meat of each type for the price!!! So value for money is completely bad. It's bordering on a rip-off, as you get significantly more for less money from the competition. Then the pizzas weren't really okay for an Italian restaurant. They were well done on the edges, but completely soft and mushy in the middle. When I picked it up, all the toppings fell off the pizza because the dough in the middle was so soft. And that in an Italian restaurant... makes the competition better. In addition, in my opinion, the tables were placed relatively close together, so it would have been difficult to get up if there were people sitting at the neighboring tables. In conclusion, I don't recommend going there at all and if I now see that the owner admits that the prices will soon rise even further, even though the prices are already far too high for the amount you get, this restaurant may close soon . Please do not support this rip-off.

A modern, attractive restaurant with excellent cuisine - pizza like I've never tasted outside of Italy! The service is unobtrusively friendly, and everything happens quickly without being rushed. I always shivered a bit in the winter, but the rest of the table thought it was okay. We go to Perla Nera regularly and have never been disappointed.

Wir waren dort zur Betriebs-Weihnachtsfeier. Für die Anzahl der Menschen war es ziemlich eng. Das Essen kam zügig und ziemlich zeitgleich so das niemand warten musste. Ich hatte eine Pizza Scampi. Geschmacklich war sie am Anfang ganz gut. Der Rand schön knusprig, die Soße genau richtig. Aber in der Mitte war es einfach nur Matsch. Der Teig hat sich wie aufgelöst und es war nur noch ein flüssiges etwas auf dem Teller. Als Dessert gab es noch ein Tiramisu. Das war wirklich sehr sehr lecker und absolut ausreichend. Mein Fazit: Personal sehr auf Zack, super freundlich und immer präsent damit auch keine Getränke fehlen. Das Essen war OK. Vielleicht hatte ich einfach Pech mit meiner Pizza 🤷🏻‍♀️

Haben heute das erste msl etwas bestellt. Essen war vom Geschmack sehr gut nur leider war alles Kalt ob Nudeln oder Pizza . Aber das war nicht das letzte mal . Wir gehen einfach vor Ort essen und dort ist es dann sicherlich auch heiß. Wir haben über Speisekarte 24 bestellt eine Pizza 3 mal Nudeln und einmal cosce di rana

Das Essen schmeckt gut. Vorbestellungen werden angenommen aber nicht bearbeitet - 17:45 Anruf, 18:30 soll abgeholt werden... Fazit (zum wiederholten Mal): Zubereitung wird erst begonnen wenn man eintrifft… 👎🤌 Tipp: Einfach Vorbestellung nicht mehr anbieten.

Sehr schönes Ambiente im Außenbereich. Das Restaurant war ausgebucht, deshalb längere Wartezeit, hat sich aber wegen der Qualität des Essens mehr als gelohnt. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Sehr sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Nette Bedienung, gemütliche Atmosphäre. Wir haben Abendbrot hier gegessen mit Reservierung. Ich denke, eine Reservierung ist notwendig, da es klein u gemütlich ist. Sehr empfehlenswert, wir kommen wieder! 😊

Aus der angesetzten guten Stunde Lieferzeit , wurden leider fast 2 Stunden Wartezeit im Endeffekt. Das Warten hat sich aber definitiv gelohnt. Die Pizza war super lecker & nicht mit anderen Pizzen aus Merzig zu vergleichen. Heben sich definitiv von der Konkurrenz ab.

Das Essen war absolut spitze. Der Service war nett und freundlich, leider heute etwas rar.

Spontan abends eine der besten Pizzen gegessen die ich je geliefert bekommen habe! Die Lieferung ging schnell und der Fahrer war freundlich.

Wir lieben diese Pizzeria sehr, das Essen ist hervorragend und der Service lässt keine Wünsche offen. Man fühlt sich herzlich Willkommen. Immer wieder eine riesige Freude hier her zu kommen.

Volle Empfehlung. Unsere 2 Pizzen waren richtig gut, der Service was aufmerksam und das Ambiente ist gemütlich ohne altmodisch zu wirken. Preise eher im oberen Mittelfeld (Pizza geht bis 18 Euro) aber soweit ich das auch den Nachbartischen beurteilen konnte, bekommt man dafür aber auch mindestens gehobenes Mittelfeld an Essen. Umfangreiche Weinkarte ist vorhanden.

Sehr leckere Pizzen und die Auswahl an Spezialpizzen ist grandios! Schaut euch online die Karte an! Leider hatten wir nur einen kurzen Aufenthalt in dieser Gegend, würden gerne irgendwann wiederkommen.

Bestellt habe ich eine Wunschpizza mit Hähnchenbrust, Zwiebeln, Knoblauch und frische Tomaten und habe es abgeholt. Der Pizzateig war super. Die Tomatensoße auf der Pizza genial. Mit roten Zwiebeln zu belegen, auch Top. Geschmack: Die beste Pizza im Umkreis. Preis: Pizza (normal) + 0,2l Cola für satte 20 EUR Fazit: Extrem teuer. Trotzdem 4,5 Sterne

Enttäuschender Service, arroganter Kellner, unprofessionelle Bedienung und mittelmäßiges (teils überteuertes) Essen. Hinzu kommen sehr lange Wartezeiten. Dieses Restaurant können wir keinesfalls weiterempfehlen.

Nachdem wir dieses Restaurant in den letzten Monaten regelmässig besuchten und das Essen eigentlich okay war, fiel uns in den letzten Wochen der explizit schlechte Service auf. Das haben wir mehr oder weniger noch in Kauf genommen. Beim jetzigen Besuch war das Restaurant mässig besucht (5 Tische besetzt), trotzdem war der Service schlecht. Der Kellner, der eigentlich immer da ist, schwebt über allem und ist sowas von sich überzeugt, das es fast wehtut. Nachdem wir mit Vor- und Hauptspeise durch waren, bestellte ich mir noch ein Dessert aus der Karte. Es war ein Parfait mit irgendeinem italienischen Beinamen. Hörte sich sehr gut an und aufgrund des ambitionierten Preises von 7,50 €, erwartete ich einen leckeren Nachtisch. Nach einer Wartezeit von ca. 45 Minuten!! wurde mir ein Teller präsentiert, auf dem sich auf einer Orangenschale ein runder Eisklumpen befand, der rechts und links lieblos mit zwei Sahnetupfern dekoriert waren. Ich versuchte es zu essen, Geschmack Null, daraufhin ging es zurück. Eine Alternative wurde mir nicht angeboten, allerdings stand dieses Dessert dann auf der Rechnung, was ich monierte. Daraufhin kam auf meinen Wunsch der Chef des Hauses an den Tisch, echauffierte sich mit unüberhörbaren Beschimpfungen und die Situation eskalierte. Peinlich! Peinlich! Wir werden diesen Laden mit Sicherheit nicht mehr besuchen, was wir dem Chef auch gesagt haben.

Vorab: Das Essen ist ganz gut und da gibt es eigentlich nichts zu meckern! Allerdings ist der Service der schlechteste, den ich bisher erlebt habe! Wir waren hier zu einer Familienfeier und mussten 45 Minuten warten, bis wir nach dem Aperitif wieder etwas zu trinken bekammen. Auch mehrmaliges Nachfragen, nach nach einigen Flaschen Wein der oberene Preiskategorie hat hier nicht weitergeholfen. Das ging dann den ganzen Abend so weiter und hat sich natürlich auf die Stimmung negeativ ausgewirkt. Die Erklärung, dass sehr viel im Lieferservice zu tun sein, interessiert mich da recht wenig, wenn ich für eine solch miserabele Dienstleistung am Ende einen hohen, dreistelligen Betrag hinlegen. Ich werde hier nicht mehr hingehen!
