I ordered a pizza from Pizzeria Giovanni this evening via Speisekarte24. The estimated delivery time was 1 hour and 48 minutes. After a total of 2 hours and 20 minutes had passed without the delivery arriving, I tried calling to inquire. No one answered the first time, and on my second attempt, I was initially asked to wait a moment and then informed that the pizza was already on its way. The pizzeria is only a few minutes from my home. Nevertheless, another hour passed without the order being delivered. A subsequent call also went unanswered. What was particularly disappointing was that children were also waiting for the pizza. Since they had to go to school the next day, they couldn't wait any longer and ultimately had to go to bed hungry. Overall, the experience was very unsatisfactory. The extremely long waiting times, the poor accessibility, and the lack of reliability mean that I will not be ordering from here again. I cannot recommend this pizza restaurant.

We celebrated our iron wedding anniversary last Saturday. There was a buffet with various appetizers, a main course, and desserts. Everything was prepared on-site. It was all very delicious and plentiful. The service was top-notch as always 👍 Everything went perfectly. Recently, we had pasta with lots of seafood—simply divine 😋. The grilled salmon was also incredibly tender. Plus, the portions were generous. Delivery or dine-in. Although I prefer to eat in, with such friendly staff 😀💜👌 I'll definitely order again... The five bruschettas were generously topped with tomatoes, arugula, and cheese slices. They were also crispy. Simply delicious. The turkey schnitzel Hawaii was quite large and generously topped with pineapple and cooked ham in a delicate cream sauce. A large side salad and fries were included. My fries were a bit too hard, but they brought softer ones free of charge. Delivery or dine-in. Always a pleasure. ... My friend ordered a large vegetarian pizza with generous toppings. She also thought it was delicious. Everything was great, including the friendly service. We'll definitely be back.

Second chance, after the delivery in June took forever. (Spoiler alert: no better today) Ordered at 5:07 PM via the website for 6:30 PM. After no one had arrived by 7:00 PM, I tried calling several times. Either the line was busy or no one answered. At 7:20 PM, the order finally arrived. The driver apologized and said he had just received the order. However, it was quite cold (delivery was about 3 km and cost €2!). The fries were completely cold, the burger was still somewhat warm but completely soggy. The bruschetta was also soggy and cold. And the pizzas were less than lukewarm and not at all crispy. A real shame. The food is probably delicious when it's warm. But I will definitely NOT be ordering from there again.

The pizzeria is like a small volcano of pure joy: as soon as the door opens, the aroma of tomatoes and the warmth of the oven dance around you. The pizza itself is a crispy sunset on dough, every topping perfectly placed, like a cheerful guest. And the owner? A conductor of culinary delights, who brings more passion to the kitchen with a nod than others do with lengthy speeches. In short: best pizza, best owner, period. 🍕✨

I just ordered from Da Giovanni for the first time, and to be precise, it was a rustic pizza… WOW!!! Absolutely delicious!!! And it was delivered very quickly too👍🏽

The pizzeria is great! We've often used the pizzeria for family events and larger groups. The spacious rooms make this no problem. The food is the real highlight: The pizza is exactly what an Italian pizza should be. The pasta is great, and if you fancy a burger, they can prepare it perfectly, too. The delivery service is fast and hot. The customer service is friendly and helpful – simply first-class all around. Highly recommended for all Bortdorf residents and pizza lovers!

We enjoyed a family meal at the restaurant. The ambiance: Clean, bright, a bit dated, but still has a cozy feel despite its size. Contemporary Italian music played softly in the background. The service: Very polite and attentive staff. They notice when a drink is empty, wait for a reasonable moment, and don't ask questions in a pushy manner. There's always a "please" and a "thank you." The food: I ordered typical Italian restaurant fare: breaded Tyrolean pork schnitzel (in a creamy mushroom sauce and baked) with fries and a dollop of salad, priced at €14.90. Then a tiramisu for €5.90. The schnitzel was okay, but it seemed deep-fried to me; it was thin but large, topped with grated cheese. The sauce, at least to me, tasted like ready-made sauce. The fries took up a quarter of the plate. The portion was small. The fries, on the other hand, were perfect in texture and appearance—unfortunately, they weren't salted. The salad was on the plate and took up 1/4 of the plate. It wasn't much, but considering the salad wasn't mentioned at all, it was a pleasant surprise. It was served with a light sauce and was the most flavorful thing on the plate (really delicious). The tiramisu was a really large portion! It was good, but I expected more from an Italian restaurant. Summary: All in all, the meal was okay. Value for money? Maybe! I would have preferred to pay 2 or 3 euros more to have been served fresher portions. The service staff was top-notch, something you don't find everywhere. I was full and therefore satisfied. But there was once a car advertisement with the slogan: "Satisfaction is the lack of alternatives."

I ate here with a friend last night, and we were absolutely thrilled. From the outside, it's rather unassuming, and you wouldn't expect how excellent the food is. But as soon as the pizza is served, you feel like you're in Italy! 🥰🥰 The pizza dough was perfect, crispy, airy, and simply delicious. The tomato sauce on the pizzas is particularly important, and the sauce is so aromatic that you feel like you're in Italy... and I'm writing that as an Italian, by the way. The pizzas are made with fresh ingredients and very generously topped. The wait was pleasantly short, and the food arrived really quickly after ordering. The service was friendly and attentive. What I noticed: Unfortunately, the restaurant was quite quiet, which I really don't understand; I think this pizzeria deserves much more attention. The owners themselves lived and worked in Italy for many years—and you can taste it. They cook really well, and all at absolutely fair prices. I can really recommend Giovanni, and from now on, I know where to get a good pizza. 🤤

As a family, we can highly recommend this pizzeria. Very friendly and attentive staff. Both the Mediterranean salad, the tortellini alla panna, and the pizzas were very good! A bit too much cheese for my taste, but still very tasty. Addendum from June 18, 2025 On our second and third visits (in two weeks), we received a very warm welcome and prompt and friendly service. The food is also consistently very good and plentiful! We definitely recommend it!

The place is a cross between a pub with a large bar and an Italian restaurant. The menu consists mainly of pizza, pasta, and small snacks, ideal for the successful delivery service. We were there with a larger (registered) group on a Sunday lunchtime. There was another group next to us, and the other tables were also occupied. Drinks came quickly, and the staff were very attentive. Only the food took too long. We ordered at around 1:00 p.m., and at 2:30 p.m. it was served gradually. By the time my table neighbor's food arrived, I was almost finished... Anyway, the food was quite tasty, and the price and quality were good. The time management just needs to be improved. I will come back and try again.

One of the best pizzerias in Merzig. I can really recommend this restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I should know, because I'm in a wheelchair and dependent on other people. Unlike other pizzerias I've eaten at, this is truly one I can recommend with a clear conscience. Besides the hospitality, the food is of course worth mentioning, which is, of course, the most important thing in a restaurant. And the food here is without a doubt absolutely fantastic. If I could award stars, I would give it at least four. One for the outstandingly good and varied cuisine, one for the hospitable and helpful staff, one for the great ambiance, and one for the excellent value for money. It's really quite reasonable here. The drinks and food here are still available at prices that even an average earner can afford. What I particularly liked: The drinks are brought immediately, and after ordering the food, it doesn't arrive right away, so you'd think the chef already knew what I wanted. The time between ordering and the food being served is appropriate, allowing you to chat with your tablemates and be confident that everything is freshly prepared, which is evident in the excellent taste of the food. And, above all, the plates aren't overloaded. It always takes my appetite away when I'm served a plate in a restaurant so overloaded with food that it's impossible to arrange it nicely. After all, eating is a visual experience, too. That's not the case here. Here, the ordered dishes are served beautifully, so heart-pleasing and mouth-watering, as they say. It's a joy to see the dishes being served, and you look forward to tasting the delicious food. And honestly, it tastes excellent! As for the ambiance, I have to say: fantastic, simply fantastic. The tables are covered with white tablecloths. Even though they're made of paper, they're made of such a high-quality material (not cheap) that you feel like you're in a Michelin-starred restaurant. I don't know if this restaurant has any stars, but it deserves at least four: one for the excellent cuisine and quality of the food, one for the courtesy and hospitality of the staff, one for the great ambience and one for the good value for money. There is one tiny criticism, though: the restaurant has a flight of stairs that you have to climb to enter. For wheelchair users like me, it's impossible without an escort. There is no wheelchair ramp. Well, I did have someone with me, but I didn't call and ask beforehand. But if I had been alone, I certainly would have done so and I know that the staff would have helped me straight away. So my advice to all wheelchair users: please call in advance and help is guaranteed straight away. All in all: a really good restaurant that I can really recommend. We'll be back! Absolutely!

We waited over 2 hours for our food. This happens when more reservations are accepted than can be handled or when the boss can't get enough. Then the regular question is whether everything is OK. Never again!!!

Discovered by chance... somewhat inconspicuously located in Merzig-Brotdorf. The pizzas 🍕 were very good, even if there was a bit too much feta on them for our taste, but as written, that's a matter of taste. Very friendly and attentive service, food and drinks didn't take long to arrive. A clear recommendation from us 🔝

The four of us were in the restaurant for the first time. Beautifully furnished guest room with two additional rooms. Reservation worked and the service was very friendly. As a starter there was very tasty pizza bread. The food (pizzas and meat) was very fine and also for “big” eaters 💪🏻😜 The desserts were tasty, but the selection was very clear 😉 Finally, a schnapps or espresso from the house was offered. All in all: we'll go there again and the prices are fair 🙏

We were there on a Thursday evening at 7:15 p.m. and had reserved. What was surprising to us was that there was a lot going on. Five of us stayed in a small side room. Because it was busy, service didn't come quite as often as we had hoped. Almost all drinks came relatively quickly, except for my wine 😀 The food, schnitzel, pasta and pizza 🍕 was excellent. The drinks menu was also very customer-friendly. We were also offered a digestive on the house. Where else is this offered in other restaurants??? We definitely go there regularly now and recommend this restaurant to all family, friends and acquaintances. 😉

So we ordered there for the first time today. And what can I say, it was rarely eaten so well from the delivery service. The food was hot, not greasy, just good. The driver very friendly. So we'll be ordering there more often now.👍Keep it up.

If you order a schnitzel with croquettes for 13€ and then 5!!! I get croquettes as counted and only a small schnitzel, then I find it a bit cheeky! Ordered 5 times, wrong pizza once and croquettes missing another time. What else do you want to leave behind here? It's not a problem but it's just ridiculous how many portions are sent to you. In the salad, cucumbers are not peeled, dressing = 0 Never again ! Not recommended to anyone and the boss doesn't care about the whole thing either.

Delivery to neighboring towns only from €25. Then you have to calculate travel costs!!! None of this is in the flyer!!! The food was good, but we won't be ordering anything there again. A visit to the site is also adventurous because of the parking situation.

The pizzeria has a nice atmosphere. There are usually few guests in the restaurant and people usually order and have it delivered or picked up. The owner should advertise this more, then it could be a nice meeting place in town. The food is very good, the staff very friendly. In summer it's nice to eat on the terrace.

Unfortunately, the sauce for the Gorgonzola schnitzel didn't taste like anything.

Mir ein Rätsel warum wir die einzigen Gäste im Gastraum waren. Der Lieferdienst war ständig unterwegs, aber vor Ort kein weiter Gast. Das Ambiente stimmt. Der Service ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Und das Essen war sehr gut und die Portionen groß genug um satt zu werden. Für uns ein gelungener Abend mit Freunden. Danke. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben heute das erste Mal bestellt. Essen kann erst nach über einer Stunde. Die Pizza war ok.Haben gebackener Schafskäse bestellt.Bekommen haben wir Oliven Peperoni Salat mit paar Würfel Schafskäse..total enttäuscht..und dann die Spaghetti Carbonara war eine Pampe die nach nix geschmeckt hat.Die Soße war geronnen.Nicht zu empfehlen.. Das war das erste und letzte Mal das wir dort bestellt haben.

Waren gestern Abend zum ersten Mal da und ich muss sagen es war wirklich sehr gut. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist einfach unschlagbar gut und man bekommt Qualität geboten. Es gab zur Vorspeise ein Pizzabrot und zur Nachspeise etwas aufs Haus sowie ein limoncello. Jetzt schon 4x dort bestellt, essen war immer super, egal ob Nudeln oder pizza. Lieferzeit bis jetzt immer schneller als die Konkkurenz, daher absolut zu rmpfehlen

Essen schmeckt sehr gut und ist echt preiswert. Außerdem stand es überraschend schnell auf dem Tisch. Service ist nett und zügig. Ambiente ist etwas trist. Keine Tischdecken, 2 große Räume in denen es recht laut ist, da die Gespräche der anderen darin schallen. Leider gibt es keinen Freisitz. Aufgrund des Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr zu empfehlen. Wenn wir aus dieser Region wären, würden wir sicher wieder dort Essen gehen.

Wir haben heute das erste Mal telefonisch bestellt und die Pizzen recht zeitnah erhalten. Die Pizzen waren auf den Punkt genau gebacken und gut belegt. Geschmeckt hat es uns allen sehr gut, werden auf jedenfall öfters dort bestellen. Macht weiter so!!! :-)

Ich bin Fan der Italienischen Küche & werde in Kürze, vor Ort, Salat 🥗, Pizza🍕 & hoffentlich gute Gesellschaft genießen.

Die Vorspeise war wirklich gut, dann wechselten wir das Lokal wegen mangelndem Benehmen des jungen Kellners. Er muss noch viel lernen.

Alles in allem freundlicher Kontakt und netter Fahrer. Die Pizzen sind absolut super lecker. Auch wenn man mit Überraschungen rechnen muss 😉😉 5 Sterne!
