After carelessly walking past it during my last stays at the Emden youth hostel, I was there this time as a guest. The proprietor welcomed me very warmly in the late afternoon as the only guest and told me that he was already the third generation of Italians to run the pizzeria. And that's not a given in Emden, where, out of more than 50 pizzerias, there are only two authentic Italian ones. The restaurant, which looks small and unassuming from the outside and which I always associated with a kiosk, is actually much more spacious and also has cozy tables outside under old trees. The perfect stone-baked pizza, the freshly tapped beer, and the truly friendly service absolutely won me over! And at the end, I was treated to a Marsala on the house. I learned that the whole of Emden knows about Pinocchio and that reservations are generally better made. It was a pleasure, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the hospitality! Highly recommended! I will visit you again on my next visit to Emden!

Cute, rustic restaurant. Highly recommended pizza. Unfortunately, the pasta was a disappointment; it was very, very hard. The host was very moody and at times quite rude. What a shame.

Santino, a true Sicilian, runs this small, cozy bistro. Gazagrande, however, has the business firmly under control, so Santino can take care of the other restaurants. If you're feeling peckish, there are small snacks and a small selection of hot dishes daily, perfectly adequate for a bistro. The service is uncomplicated and prompt. This is where you can live the Dolce Vita in Emden, to the fullest!

We've always enjoyed being there so far. Unfortunately our pizzas weren't good last time. The service was anything but friendly. We won't eat pizza there again in the future. We always liked the pasta dishes much better there.

Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars. Therefore 1 star. Had to wait 10 minutes for a menu. After waiting in vain for another 20 minutes for our order to be taken, we got up and left. Instead of a polite inquiry, we only got the inappropriate comment...then you have to go somewhere else. There are enough local ones. We did and were rewarded with delicious food and drinks at the Grande Cafe.
