The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff very friendly. It's just a shame about the pizza; we've never eaten such a bland and tasteless pizza. And the next day we all had stomach aches. A real shame, because you pay to enjoy a good meal with your family... I wouldn't recommend it.

We went to Michele's again today for dinner, and I can say: TOP! 30 years ago, when we celebrated our high school graduation there, it was already fantastic, and it hasn't changed since. Anyone who wants good Italian food has a top spot in LA TRATTORIA! 👍🇮🇹

The food was very good. Unfortunately, we're deducting two stars. One star was lost due to the unruly and loudly playing children under other guests' tables. Unfortunately, the staff acted very unprofessionally and didn't intervene. The second star was lost due to the exceptionally persistent but subparly talented street musicians who were invited into the restaurant. Unfortunately, these were two less than pleasant experiences, hence two stars deducted.

We love La Trattoria and have been going there for years! We have never been disappointed; the food is always fresh and delicious, and Michele and his team are always friendly and accommodating to our requests! We highly recommend it.

We had reserved a table for 6 people and 2 dogs on the outdoor terrace at 7 p.m. When we arrived, we were told that there was only one table available inside. Which was rather unpleasant, as it was very warm and we had two large dogs with us. When we said that it wasn't possible and that we had specifically reserved to sit outside, we were very cheekily told that we either had to sit inside or wait until something became available. When another person in our group tried to sort it out, she was told that he would take care of it. After waiting for over half an hour without receiving any attention, without being spoken to, or even given the opportunity to order a drink, we left. It's a shame, really. I've known this restaurant since I was a child and wanted to eat there with my friends from Berlin. Now we'll probably never go there again. We went two doors down to the Greek restaurant "Olympia," highly recommended.

Highly recommended Italian pizza. We went there for lunch in downtown Emden. They have a gluten-free pizza base, which comes pre-packaged in an aluminum tray with foil. You can choose your toppings, and it's then baked in this aluminum tray, so it's also contamination-free. I found it really tasty and crispy. It's also a good size, with a diameter of 32 cm. The price of around €14 was absolutely fair. The manager and the waitress were very friendly. We felt very comfortable. The two of us each had a pizza (one "regular", one gluten-free) and a lemonade for €35 including tip (June 2025).

Today we were in Emden and had lunch at the trattoria. I'm absolutely thrilled; they serve gluten-free pizza without having to pre-order. It was thin, crispy, and incredibly delicious; 5 stars are hardly enough. For me, as someone with celiac disease, it's a special experience to be able to eat delicious gluten-free food spontaneously and without any discussion. Thank you so much for this.

Tasty pizza for a very reasonable price

Three 5 stars might sound like a lot, but what can you do when you had a great meal, were served nicely and felt completely at home!?! Hence: 👍🏼 The king prawns with cream sauce, pepper and cognac - a dream. First of all, a soup, carpaccio… it smelled great at our table… It made you kneel down! Our stopover was once again worth it. The pizza tasted like almost nothing, the waiters were quite nice. The ambience is a bit dull, it's a bit grayish so unfortunately you don't feel comfortable. The toilets were a bit run down, and at some point musicians came and got on our nerves while we were eating

Small, simply, yet comfortably furnished restaurant. You sit on padded wooden benches surrounded by old pictures. The warm light from the lamps gives everything a cozy atmosphere. Here the pizza is served in the original way, just like in Italy. First the tomato sauce, then the cheese and the other ingredients on top. Prices are very fair and affordable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. At the end, each guest receives a Marsala. You'll be happy to come back here.

Good morning. 03/08/25. Table was reserved. It was a bit chaotic though. 2 people. We sat. After 20 minutes nothing had happened. Normally we have time. But we still wanted to go to the theater. It was 5:30 p.m. Clock. At 6:20 p.m. It was clear to me that we couldn't make it without a drink. Still no one came. So one door further. I have known the restaurant for over 35 years. Still a complete disaster. But still well attended. For whatever reason. Pizza was never good and yet you're there. When the last bite was in the mouth, Michele came. Baggare. So that the others could take a seat. Today I wonder why we kept going there. This was the last attempt. Grazie e Ciao. Thank you for the nice answer. Great Italian restaurant. We ate there yesterday during our visit to Emden. Super nice people there. Boss staff are all really nice and accommodating. Late in the evening the boss comes to the tables and asks if everything was okay. Can only be recommended.

I don't know how this so-called restaurant can survive and still get a good rating. I would prefer to give it no star at all. When you order pork medallions you expect medallions and not half schnitzels or whatever they were. There was clover in the salad. In order to be able to talk to the staff, they would theoretically have to want to work. But the person who would have understood me just wanted to talk to his colleague and loudly across the restaurant. And these are just a few things, I could list many more. Not recommended

I found the food incredibly tasty, you can really taste the effort. Everyone is incredibly nice and I think the atmosphere is almost even better. Chatting here and there still peace and quiet. Totally nice little place. Very nice and attentive service, with whom you can start a conversation. The gluten-free pizza was super delicious, wafer-thin and hard to distinguish from a normal pizza - you rarely have that! Great care was even taken to ensure that it does not come into contact with normal flour (with an extra form). We felt very, very comfortable!

Yesterday I had dinner at La Trattoria in Emden, it was very good, plentiful and inexpensive, the staff was friendly, quick and attentive, you should understand that in these cozy rooms it is not possible to celebrate e.g. Christmas parties with more than 10 people who can't all sit at the same table and still rate it negatively. For me there is no better original Italian restaurant in Emden.

We were eating there with a larger group, unfortunately there was no large table where we could all sit together. We were then divided into four smaller tables, which received their food separately one after the other. The food could also have been seasoned better. The service was good.

We entered the restaurant at 4:20 p.m. and were told to choose a table, so we did. Seat at the window, unfortunately no one served us. Then after 20 minutes we went... to the East Frisian. We know Italian hospitality differently.. The answer is so bad and wrong, I wasn't alone. Better apologize.

I had dinner there with my wife last night. Of course it was very crowded there due to the run-up to Christmas. Despite all the work, the service was very friendly and our order was taken quickly. It didn't take long until we had our drinks and food. That was positive. Now to the food, we ordered bruschetta as a starter, unfortunately the bread was completely soggy, there was hardly any basil and the bread had not been rubbed with a clove of garlic beforehand to give it a taste. Overall a little bland. For the main course we had Bistecca ai Funghi and Bistecca “Diana”. Here too, the positive first. The steaks were medium rare and no shoe soles, but that was about it. The mushroom sauce was obviously a finished product, at least it tasted that way. According to the menu, the Steak Diana was supposed to be prepared with cognac. There was no taste of this. I know that the cognac shouldn't be the focus of the sauce, but you should at least be able to guess it. The broccoli that I ordered as a side dish was nice and crunchy, that's how it should be. It was just completely unseasoned. I would describe the fries on both plates as standard. Overall, you could eat the dishes, but unfortunately you didn't enjoy them much. We were there on Friday evening, unfortunately we had to wait an hour just for the drinks, the food came after 1 hour and 45 minutes and then it was just okay. Yes, the shop was full but when guests who came after us received their food before us, it was a bit cheeky. A half-hearted apology and even ignorance will not appease guests. We won't come back, complaint management looks different!

After the waiter took half of the order, said goodbye briefly, and then came back half-heartedly to take the rest of the order, we were served our pizzas in good time. I think a better frozen pizza has more to offer than everything that is mixed together here from amounts of flour and cheese. Or clapped. So basically there is little love in it, besides peeing, paying is also a disaster. An option with 7 per mille, otherwise less.

Our positive surprise in Emden We were there for dinner yesterday, October 1st, 2024, and sat by the window on the first floor. The cellar, but also the other staff, were nice, friendly and committed. Our food was really A1. We had Bruscetta in advance for a very fair €3.50. Then house pasta with salmon and a rump steak. Everything was very, very good and fairly priced. Finally an Italian restaurant with reasonable affordable prices and very good food We'll definitely be back, we were already thinking about it this evening. At the end there was a delicious grappa from the house. Try this restaurant right on the market square and don't be put off by the bar on the ground floor, the entrance is on the right. Not fancy Micki but good Italian cuisine at fair prices.

I was there at lunchtime. The pizza was good, but the dough wasn't convincing. I think the pizza was made in a baking tray and not directly on a stone, but that's just a guess and I think the baking temperature was too low. It feels like the lunch business isn't too high of a priority.

I had the filet gorgonzola. If that's what's on the menu, I can't help it. I'm already very spoiled by my home Italian. But the gorgonzola sauce here was better. scusa Ricardo 😉 The meat was good too. Just fries doesn't really go with it, but that's what was on the menu. All in all a great experience hence 5 stars.

A wonderfully rustic family business that doesn't reinvent Italian food. But the russen was wonderful and the service was great. A wonderfully cozy evening. And in the end, a great price-performance ratio.

Very cozy Italian. The furnishings are rustic, clean and well-kept, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. A little unsuitable for people with walking difficulties, as the restaurant can only be reached via stairs (upper floors). However, in summer or when the weather is good, it is also possible to dine outside, an advantage for those with walking difficulties! I ordered a pizza vegetariania to take away. The pizza dough was nice and fluffy and the base was brown at the bottom, not just a 1mm thick burnt shoe sole like others. And the pizza is seasoned with garlic olive oil, so it has a lot of flavor. Vegetable selection was really decent with sautéed zucchini, broccoli and mushrooms. Overall very tasty, gladly again!

Super leckere Pizza, Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam.

Pizza's zijn niet tradioneel authentiek, maar zgn pan pizza's. Weliswaar stukken goedkoper dan in Nederland, maar wat kleiner en niet zo smakelijk als verwacht. Jammer.

Heute haben wir erstmals das typisch römische Gericht: Saltimbocca bestellt und genossen. "Spring in den Mund" ... im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes: eine Geschmacksexplosion auf der Zunge und am Gaumen. 5-Sterne-Bewertung für Optik, Olfaktorische Reize, Geschmackssinn, Gastlichkeit und Gemütlichkeit. Super leckeres Essen und sehr nettes Personal!

Seit Jahren kommen wir immer wieder gerne hierher. Jugenderinnerungen meines Mannes. ;-) Mittlerweile gibt es das Restaurant seit 40 Jahren. Die Qualität ist immer gleichbleibend gut. Wir empfehlen Pizza dolce Vita und den Insalata Capriciosa.

Leider hat das Restaurant sehr nachgelassen. Die Qualität ist nicht mehr dieselbe und auch der Inhaber ist sehr unfreundlich geworden. Finde das sehr schade, zumal ich es auch anders kenne. Verliert somit sehr gute Stammkunden.

Wir waren im Kurzurlaub in Emden und sind nach dem Weihnachtsmarkt zufällig in dieses Lokal gegangen. Erst kam gar kein Kellner, erst nach Bescheidgeben das wir auch was bestellen möchten kam der Kellner mit der Karte. Wir bestellten 1 Bier und eine Weinschorle und 2 Pizzen. Pizza kam dann nach ca 20 min, leider keine Getränke. Erst wieder nach Aufforderung unsererseits. Die Getränke wurden fast "hingeworfen" Kein Wort dazu. Ich habe in meinem langen Leben noch nie so eine schlechte Pizza gegessen. Außen fast verbrannt, innen matschig. Bei meiner Frau waren dicke kalte Tomatenscheiben oben drauf, bei mir dicke kalte Zwiebeln. Außerdem hatte der Pizzabäcker scheinbar alle Gewürze vergessen. Sowas haben wir noch nie erleben müssen. Wir hatten scharfes Öl und Gewürz dazu bestellt, das auch erst wieder nach Aufforderung unsererseits kam. Beim Bezahlen mussten wir auch ein paar mal drum bitten das endlich jemand kommt. Hätten wir nur auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt etwas verzehrt. Gut, wir werden nie mehr nach Emden kommen, aber das war unterste Schublade. Nachtrag: Dann halt noch von uns Hallo, von Ihnen kam auch keinerlei freundliches Wort, gar nichts. Ihre Antwort ist arrogant ohne Ende. Sowas wie sie hat in der Gastro nichts zu suchen. Und nur zur Info: Wir sind auch selbstständig in der Gastro und würden mit unseren geschätzen Kunden niemals so kommunizieren. Schämen sie sich.

Ein gemütlich Restaurant in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Sehr freundliche und bemühte Bedienung. Essen sehr lecker. Eine wirklich sehr gute glutenfreie Pizza. Preis/Leistung ist stimmig. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
