The food was very tasty. For starters I had bruschetta, followed by a Parma pizza with arugula and burrata. Although the bruschetta portion wasn't particularly large, the taste was impressive. The pizza was a delight both in terms of taste and appearance. I particularly liked the thin crust of the pizza, which was perfectly cooked.
The service was also excellent. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. I found it very pleasant that they offered to wait before cleaning the coffee machine if I wanted an espresso later.
Overall it was a very pleasant evening, even though I was there alone this time. I can highly recommend this restaurant.
As a precaution, if the weather is good, call and ask for a table. Gladly again
Where the photos with the beautifully prepared food came from is a mystery to us. The food was below average, the benches were completely worn out, the toilet smelled like a cowshed. Friendliness can also be improved. Never again.
Food tip top The first time since I've been in the clinic in Haunstetten it was really good and I've ordered many times now but it's really the only delivery service I can recommend here, all the others were the worst
Personally, I can only recommend this place to a limited extent.
Positive: Nice staff, pleasant atmosphere.
Neutral: The kitchen door was partially open, which meant you could hear what was going on - so if you like to dine with the noise of the kitchen, you'll get your money's worth here.
Negative: The food.
1) An appetizer plate was ordered for two people. Unfortunately, most of the components tasted sour and were very reminiscent of industrially pickled goods - even the loving preparation didn't help much.
The main courses: two different pasta dishes.
2a) One with cream sauce, broccoli and salsiccia - sometimes borderline in taste. The sausage was more reminiscent of the aroma of a used dishcloth than of Italian delicatessen. The noodles themselves: bland and loveless.
2b) The spaghetti was mainly one thing: oily. Here too: hardly any taste, no joy.
3) We saved ourselves the dessert – you learn from experience.
Price-performance ratio: Unfortunately underground.
The pizzas at the neighboring tables also seemed rather dry, bland and sometimes rock hard.
Any real Italian would probably instinctively give this place a wide berth. My Italian companion also confirmed this to me.
Why some guests still enjoy it here remains a culinary mystery to us.

Today I visited the restaurant "Zum Stern", which is listed as an Italian restaurant on Google Maps. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but authentically Italian.
The positive:
- Friendly staff
- Attractive atmosphere
The negative:
- The pizza was a big disappointment
- Lack of authenticity of Italian cuisine
I chose a pizza as I was expecting real Italian cuisine. What I was served was far from that. The pizza wasn't fully baked in the middle and its consistency and bite were more reminiscent of pasta than a crispy pizza crust.
It is obvious that the chef is in dire need of training, ideally from a professional from Italy. If a simple pizza doesn't work, you don't even want to try the other dishes.
Conclusion: Despite the friendly staff and the appealing ambience, I cannot recommend the restaurant "Zu Stern" as long as the quality of the food, especially the pizza, is not drastically improved. An Italian restaurant should at least master the basics of Italian cuisine.
- Food: Very, very!!! enjoy your meal! Both the various pizzas, my cuttlefish dish and, according to the accompaniment, also the meat and mushroom dishes were excellent! The starter salad convinced me (in most restaurants it is presented carelessly - leaves are way too big, dressing just floats at the bottom, etc. ... - I would recommend it without reservation to every salad fan!). Even though we were full, we couldn't resist dessert, and it was... I can't find the words anymore: 😊😊😊
(Attention: I'm reporting on two evenings: once I had a starter and main course, the other time I had a main course and dessert, both times I managed everything with the help of my companion, it's really good enough, not just for ladies - but as delicious as everything was...😉)
- Attentive, courteous, extremely nice lady! Not intrusive, but you will never be “overlooked”! Perfetto! She is really very empathetic and, I think, realizes what each guest/group needs and wants
- a fantastic wine recommendation (really, also the procedure: I have never experienced anything like that in the best restaurants!), which incredibly went well with both dishes
- Maybe a little dependent on the table/space: between the space on the first visit: "nice and pleasant - I'll come back" to the space on the second visit: "I'll sit here forever and when I have to leave, I'll take the furnishings home with me" 😉
It's extremely rare that I end up at the same restaurant twice within 7-8 days - this one did it!
I will definitely come back again in January!
Thanks for the lovely, delicious dinners!
I was there with my family on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was well attended, but not full.
It's a pretty good Italian restaurant in Stadt am Hof, easily accessible on foot from the city center via the Steinerne Brücke, or alternatively via Badstrasse. Parking at Schopperplatz or Dultplatz is possible.
Ambiance
There is a pleasantly uncomplicated Italian atmosphere. The wall decorations with some photos of Picasso, Don Camillo and Co. can be avoided as they are a bit hackneyed and not up to date. In the cold season it is not so pleasant that the door from the outside constantly opens and cold air flows directly around the tables to those at the door.
service
The restaurant was well attended on Saturday, but not full.
The service staff should perhaps think about the word service or are they a bit overwhelmed. You have to ask several times for someone to come. Not a polite word, not a smile, not asked if everything was okay during the meal and not a thank you despite a good tip! Furthermore, it is inappropriate to wait 40 minutes for food; Again, no excuse for the food taking an excessively long time. I can't say whether the kitchen or the service staff can't keep up, but the result remains the same.
Food and drinks
The pasta dishes are very well prepared and tasteful. I can't judge whether you're expected to order a starter and possibly a dessert, but none of the guests were satisfied with the portion size. Therefore the price for a pasta dish over €20 is not reasonable. The grilled shrimps are also highly recommended.
Maybe the finished plates were left in the kitchen for a while before being served. The plate was cold and the chop was at most lukewarm.
Price/performance ratio
The price/performance ratio is not appropriate with regard to the pasta dishes. Even a scoop of ice cream with espresso and a little whipped cream for €7.50 is a bit excessive. The prices for the drinks are standard for the Regensburg restaurants.
Conclusion
The restaurant can only be recommended to a limited extent if you don't have a lot of patience and can accept the rather high prices for small portions.
The food in general tastes good. Unfortunately, the kebab meat on the kebab plate wasn't completely cooked through.
Sometimes you have to wait quite a long time for deliveries (up to 1.5 hours) and sometimes you get the wrong pizzas or incorrect deliveries in general.
The restaurant is pleasantly decorated and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the salad wasn't particularly tasty for the high price - green lettuce, a few pieces of tomatoes and cucumbers on the edge, a few beans and broccoli served with a radish are already horrendous for the price.
