Never again! Why... We had great memories of La Fontana.
But today was a disaster.
point one; Yes, there are few tables in the guest room, but the staff's handling was consistently unprofessional and stressful... with just 10 tables?
(Just so you know: I am a trained restaurant specialist myself and have worked in the catering industry for 22 years, plus 2.0 years of training as a chef.)
Before the ....... come.
For eating: A big plus point for the fresh pizza sticks with the antipasti plate. The Parma ham and the salami were also good. But why do you serve raw peppers and cucumbers and peppers with them? It seemed like it had been picked through the saladette once and was done. (Saladette is the preparation for the cold kitchen)
Main course:
That was the worst Italian food ever. I would be ashamed to serve something like that to a guest.
Spaghetti Carbonara as scrambled eggs, without guancale, just bacon and cream... Today... No Go...
The pizza baked like a tarte flambée. Disaster.
And the absolute arrogance of the employees,
"The Germans like it that way..."
I found it the most insulting. No accomodation, at least taking my scrambled noodles with bacon off the bill, or a grappa on the house, no matter what... a reaction to this disappointment.
Or a sorry... Nothing! Not to mention the price...
So unfortunately never again...

Decent place nestled in the bowels of dülmen, nice beer, pretty staff & average food.
This place is not going to set the world on fire but is better a few of the other holes in dülmen.
Discreet and professional service in a sophisticated ambience creates a calm, feel-good atmosphere. The boss cooks himself with dedication and high-quality ingredients: simply delicious.

As a foreign guest you are inevitably served.
As a well-known/regular guest you are courted.
Very clear differences, i.e. classification.
Even if you ask politely, you will be dealt with briefly and succinctly. Other guests have long conversations.
As a foreign guest, I will avoid this location in the future.
There are others who treat strangers in a more friendly manner.
The restaurant is characterized by a high level of service, exquisite dishes and an authentic Italian atmosphere. I especially recommend the 4 cheese pizza)
We sit at a table almost towards the exit, bare and without a tablecloth, while the other tables further inside the room are all with tablecloths. They don't set the table for us, but only add cutlery and napkins to the bare table.
We choose based on the menu that had been brought to us, the waiter takes the order, but just a few minutes later, Donatella (the manager?) appears and tells us, not too kindly, that in the kitchen it is not possible to make three different first courses together.
You have to choose one that is the same for all three.

Obviously we declined, canceling the order for the first courses.
We sat down at 7.15pm, they brought us mineral water, which we had requested as soon as we sat down very late. At 8.30pm the starter (vorspeise) arrived. An hour and a quarter of waiting and in the meantime nothing, not even the bread, which arrived shortly before the appetizer with some (salted) olives. The glass of wine, requested twice at the beginning, arrived at 8.15pm.
The restaurant wasn't even full, one wonders what organization they have.
However, the friends who were with me and who ate another type of starter (they allowed us the different one for three...) say that it was all good.

Well, the starter for me (cannellini beans with scallops) was nothing special, too savory and with an industrial amount of pepper.
They took the desserts themselves, and they spoke highly of them. I preferred not to take anything anymore, at first I didn't get up and leave just because I was in company and I didn't want to ruin my friends' evening...
