It's always nice to be here, whether to celebrate or just eat something delicious in between. Unfortunately I took the photos too late again because it is just too delicious 😉👌

Schnitzel, pointed cabbage with bratwurst and deer bratwurst with red cabbage were very good; the fried potatoes a little too greasy. Overall, very good for a “pub”.

What can I say, a really good pub, the landlady is great. Here you can play Edart and Steeldart as well as league games in a separate room

We went there on the recommendation of a colleague. Been there regularly since then. Really a great gastro pub. You feel like you've been transported back in time. Really nice German pub, the likes of which are no longer available in good quality everywhere. The innkeeper Darius is a great guy. There's really no other way to say it. He is relaxed and funny and engages with the guests. Simply great. The prices for drinks are great too. A large, freshly tapped beer for under 5 euros is really more than fair! The food is also really great, great quality and consistent taste. Just fantastic there. The selection of food is also great, there is something for everyone! Even though we usually always use the same thing ^^ We recommend the schnitzel, with fried potatoes and malt beer sauce. The salad and dressing, as well as the bread and spread that you get beforehand, are also super tasty. Almost everything is right here! We always like to come. Most of the time, old German wave music plays, which fits with the overall rustic look of the pub. Some dishes could perhaps be a bit cheaper (especially if you order a larger portion) but otherwise great. The only criticism/information I have is that you should definitely plan time here if you go there in the evening and want to eat. It can take a good 2 hours, but you know that when you go there. Sometimes the host and the cook are very stressed. I think it wouldn't hurt to have some extra strength, especially on the weekends. Otherwise one of my favorite shops in Essen! Oh and you'd better make a reservation. Thank you very much and we will see you again soon. Like almost once a week ^^

I really enjoy going to the MA. The menu is unusual and very funny. The portions are really good and nicely presented. Everything is really tasty The service is attentive. The only shame is that there is often no soap or towels in the toilets.

Old pub just has mold in the place if you don't get sick while staying there
