Cool place, fast and friendly service. Food was great.

My companion and I were extremely surprised by the amount of soup I ordered for 8 euros. After about eight tablespoons, it was all gone :). Okay, there were also two small pizza rolls with it. But unfortunately, I was still hungry. My comment to the waitress about the surprisingly small portion was noted, but that was all. So each tablespoon cost 1 euro. Really expensive. I think I'll just eat at home instead.

The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. We were seated quickly and received our orders promptly. The food was fairly typical, like Celona or Extrablatt, but it was perfectly fine. The restaurant is located right in the heart of Essen's city center.

They do everything right! We were here with a large group. There was plenty of room for everyone. The concept is a bit eclectic. I couldn't really discern a cohesive theme; it's a mix of different tables, chairs, and decorations. It's a colorful jumble, but overall it's still harmonious and charming. At our table, however, it was a bit of a gamble because not all the chairs were comfortable. The service was excellent. Everything arrived very quickly, and they checked in regularly if anything was missing. The food was also delicious. The menu, like the decor, is a diverse mix. You can order everything from pasta, pizza, and burgers to schnitzel. Of course, the individual dishes aren't the absolute best, but they still taste really good and are well thought out. If you want to eat well in a pleasant atmosphere and are looking for a wide selection, this is the place for you.

Today, my wife and I stopped here for the first time by chance. The location is absolutely fantastic; every little detail on the walls, the shelves, even in the restroom is pleasant and nice to "discover." Renting games with a deposit is great. The music wasn't too loud. There were a few people here and there, but everything was fine—just as it should be. Complete well-being in every respect. The staff were completely in their element! Warm and attentive! At least, the ones we had. Simply top-notch! The food—the BBQ chicken pizza—was fantastic. And the very, very delicious cocktails, Mai Tai, etc., were an endless delight. To round things off and make it perfect, we had the breaded chicken pieces, each with a Mexicana. That was pure bliss. Highly recommended. We say YES! We'll gladly come back whenever we're in Essen for dinner. :-) Thank you, thank you!

When we asked for a bottle of water instead, he refused, saying our order was “not enough.” His attitude was rude and unprofessional, which made us feel unwelcome. The manager's behavior was rude and unprofessional. The way he spoke to us was disrespectful. We ordered twice, but he refused to prepare the order, claiming it wasn't enough and demanding we order more because, in his opinion, our order was too small. This behavior is unacceptable and completely inappropriate for a customer-oriented profession. Customers should be treated with respect regardless of the size of their order.

The breakfast buffet was very varied and delicious. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the decor original. A lovely place to spend time with friends.

I had the pleasure of kicking off my hen party here. Eleven of us girls had brunch. The breakfast was fantastic, a great selection of everything you could wish for. The range of vegetarian/vegan options was amazing, and there were also various salads, guacamole, quinoa, and more. My personal highlight was the bagels – how delicious were they?! I recently went back with my parents, and they were just as enthusiastic.

My wife and I love this place. For us, it's not just a place to get together with family for a delicious breakfast, but also a place where a very special journey began. And we're already looking forward to letting the Ma know what this place means to us in the new year. We went there for dinner without a reservation. The schnitzels were delicious and the portions were generous. Small special requests were accommodated. For dessert, we opted for the cake deal. The mandarin orange cheesecake was particularly delicious. The restaurant's decor is a matter of taste, but the design remains true to the chosen theme. I've been there several times and have always been satisfied.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner one Saturday evening and were delighted. The cozy restaurant was very busy, but we were still able to make a last-minute reservation. They have a very extensive menu, offering something for every taste. We ordered chicken with dips, fries, etc. for two people. It was really good. Very friendly staff and great service. I was here for breakfast again. The breakfast buffet stands out from the usual selection and quality offered at larger chains. From fruit jam to chocolate pizza, even savory options, there are all sorts of vegan options. So, nothing to complain about. Unfortunately, the coffee is a disaster. I'd even say it's one of the worst I've had. I've mentioned this before, but unfortunately, the coffee didn't improve, so I had to return it. I don't usually do that. So, it's better to switch to a different hot drink. The Ambete is charmingly cozy and beautiful. The service is quick and friendly.

Breakfast at MA today... We wanted to see if all the good reviews were true. We felt very comfortable; everything was delicious, lovingly prepared, and constantly refilled. We really enjoyed it and it tasted even better. We'll definitely be back.

We come here once a month on Sundays for brunch with the family and, in addition to the excellent food and drink selection, we keep coming back for the excellent, friendly service and the pleasant, almost family-like atmosphere.

I liked the MA Essen Zentrum restaurant: the interior is very interestingly designed, the atmosphere is cozy, the music is pleasant, and there are blankets for when it gets chilly. Atmosphere and service 4/5. The tuna pizza🍕 was unfortunately a bit dry, so I give it 3/5. For dessert, I chose the walnut caramel becha. The ice cream🍦 WALNUT CARAMEL SUNDAE was delicious, and the caramel sauce was also good, but the walnuts tasted old and not fresh, which I didn't like. 3/5.

There were three employees on site. There were also only three customers inside with us, which wasn't a problem up to this point. But sitting for 20 minutes without ordering anything because none of the employees felt responsible for it was unacceptable. We ordered food, and 40 minutes later, we're still sitting here without food. Sorry, but that was a really poor performance for a Saturday. The place used to be good, and we liked it here, but that's over. We're definitely never coming here again. Apart from the fact that the employees all seem to be in a terrible mood.

Four of us ate here late in the afternoon. The ambiance and service were great. However, the price/performance ratio wasn't right, and the food wasn't very tasty. We had pizza, a bowl, and a schnitzel. Dessert and a snack were also available.

If there were 0 stars, I'd gladly give it 0! Unfortunately, I interrupted the staff while they were chatting! After using the restroom, I wanted to order from the three ladies at the counter, but was told to order at my table! Then no one came for 20 minutes. Or rather, the waitress served all the tables around me, but it was probably too far to get to me! Truly unbelievable!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

There were five of us at MA one evening during the week. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The table was a bit small for five people, as it was more of a four-person table and they had placed a chair in front of it. Besides the great selection, including vegan options 🌱, there's so much to discover at MA. It's beautifully decorated. We'll definitely be back!

The service isn't good. You sit there for an hour with your empty drink after you've finished eating. Totally inattentive. For these prices, good service should be available.

We had breakfast in Essen today and must say we really enjoyed it. The selection at the breakfast buffet in Essen was very good and plentiful; everything was fresh and delicious. Freshly squeezed orange juice and drinks like coffee are included as an extra. We found the price of €18 per person very reasonable, especially since the quality of the food was very good. The ambiance was very pleasant, and the service was very good and polite. There is plenty of seating, both inside and outside. This is our personal opinion. The breakfast buffet is only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. See pictures.

Unfortunately a terrible pizza, burnt and tastes like a burnt frozen pizza. The long drinks are also more tonic than gin. But the service and the ambience are very nice, it's a real shame.

We had a latte macchiato and something sweet to eat. It's a really nice café and the service was really nice and quick. Unfortunately, I just found out (via online banking) that the waiter had pocketed a nice extra tip. Although it was only one euro, it was still a cheek and I was still wondering why he turned the card machine so strangely towards me that I couldn't see the price. It's a real shame because I've always thought very highly of this café.

I really enjoy going to the MA. The menu is unusual and very funny. The portions are really good and nicely presented. Everything is really tasty The service is attentive. The only shame is that there is often no soap or towels in the toilets.

We spontaneously decided to visit because we were in town anyway and somehow felt like an uncomplicated meal out. As soon as we had decided, we walked through the door and were immediately greeted in a friendly manner. We had a free choice of seats, we'll take the main prize. The atmosphere is great, a really nice ambience, not too loud, even though it was well attended, comfortably lit and details wherever you look without being overwhelmed. The map is not only beautifully illustrated and has a few smiles hidden, but also impresses with a super interesting selection. There is something for everyone here. A super friendly service always accompanied us throughout the evening at the right time. An incredibly delicious, down-to-earth meal, rounded off by a sweet, warm temptation gave us a really nice evening. The bill felt very low, but the tip was higher. This is certainly how Einstein imagined it with his theory. Thank you for the lovely stay! We have already pleaded guilty to the waitress to visit you again 😊

We were here spontaneously on Sunday evening and easily found space for three people. The menu for hot dishes, snacks and desserts is huge - there is something for everyone here. The blueberry cheesecake cream was quite good, but a little too sweet, and the blueberry sauce unfortunately tasted artificial. The chocolate cloud (chocolate cake with a liquid center) was also very sweet. The chocolate dippers were quite tasty, but overall the desserts reminded me more of fast food treats than of fine desserts to enjoy. Perhaps the savory dishes are more convincing. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy and informal – ideal for a relaxed evening.

Some waitresses behave disrespectfully. They should first learn respect and how to treat customers properly before working in this profession. Honestly, that's really rude! We always go to Extra Blatt, but unfortunately it is closed due to construction. So this is the last time in this cafe and I won't recommend it.

I was in Essen too early today and still had time to have breakfast! I ended up in the MA after a Google search and have no regrets!!! I only had a cappuccino and a scrambled egg with two slices of brown bread. But it was very tasty, arrived at the table extremely quickly and the service was ultra-friendly and absolutely accommodating! Gladly again when I'm in Essen again in the morning. 🤩🤩🤩 I took a photo of the entire map because I couldn't find it in its entirety here. Everyone should be able to find something like this. 😃

Toller Laden, durchdesigned bis ins Detail, alles sauber, Personal supernett, Ambiente gemütlich, dauernd findet das Auge wieder was zu entdecken. Wir hatten mit 20 Leuten reserviert und alles kam gleichzeitig, heiß und wirklich lecker. Ich hatte das Kalbsschnitzel mit Champignons und Fritten, Hammer! Hier gibt es wirklich gar nichts zu meckern, geht da hin! :D

I had a Caesars chicken salad. The salad mixture visibly came straight from the bag to the plate, and no one had even bothered to take apart the leaves of the iceberg lettuce pieces. The cut edges of the iceberg lettuce were already pink, which is a clear indication of a lack of freshness and shows that bacteria are already living here. My complaint was not taken seriously in any way, but was dismissed as an empty phrase and certainly not passed on to the kitchen, as promised. This was clearly visible from where I was sitting and taking a complaint seriously from a restaurant is a different story. The fact that I didn't tolerate the salad well from a health perspective confirms my visual impressions. Today was the last time I was there, as it wasn't the time that I experienced that no attention was paid to freshness. It's a shame, because otherwise the restaurant is very charming.

Ich hatte Caesars Chicken bestellt. Der Salat kam erkennbar aus einer Tüte mit Fertigschnitt und man hatte sich leider nicht die Mühe gemacht, die großen Stücke Eisbergsalat in Blätter zu trennen und auf ihre Frische zu achten. Es gab viele rosa verfärbte Schnittstellen, an denen sich Bakterien aufhalten können, die ungesunde Auswirkungen auf den Essenden haben. Mein Hinweis auf fehlende Frische wurde - anders als von der Bedienung annonciert - leider nicht an die Küche weitergeben, denn ich hatte von meinem Platz aus einem Blick auf die Durchreiche der Küche zum Gastraum und konnte das Gespräch sehen. Die Bedienung räumte später meinen Teller mit den nicht genießbaren Salatstücken ab und warf diese sofort in den Mülleimer am Eingang zur Küche - also ohne den Kochenden zu zeigen, was man Gästen nicht servieren darf. Dass der Salat nicht frisch war, konnte ich deutlich nach dem Essen merken, denn es ging mir danach nicht besonders gut. Meine Beschwerde wurde also weder ernst genommen, noch sah man sich dazu veranlasst, den eigenen Fehler irgendwie erkennbar gut zu machen. Ich werde dieses Lokal, das mir nun zum schon zweiten Mal Lebensmittel serviert hat, die sichtbar nicht mehr frisch sind, nicht mehr aufsuchen.

We traveled to the gospel event in Koblenz last weekend and ate at MA several times because we really liked the ambience and the dishes. A very fancy restaurant; probably unique. I will recommend the MA.
