MA Essen in Essen

Toller Laden, durchdesigned bis ins Detail, alles sauber, Personal supernett, Ambiente gemütlich, dauernd findet das Auge wieder was zu entdecken. Wir hatten mit 20 Leuten reserviert und alles kam gleichzeitig, heiß und wirklich lecker. Ich hatte das Kalbsschnitzel mit Champignons und Fritten, Hammer! Hier gibt es wirklich gar nichts zu meckern, geht da hin! :D

Ich hatte Caesars Chicken bestellt. Der Salat kam erkennbar aus einer Tüte mit Fertigschnitt und man hatte sich leider nicht die Mühe gemacht, die großen Stücke Eisbergsalat in Blätter zu trennen und auf ihre Frische zu achten. Es gab viele rosa verfärbte Schnittstellen, an denen sich Bakterien aufhalten können, die ungesunde Auswirkungen auf den Essenden haben. Mein Hinweis auf fehlende Frische wurde - anders als von der Bedienung annonciert - leider nicht an die Küche weitergeben, denn ich hatte von meinem Platz aus einem Blick auf die Durchreiche der Küche zum Gastraum und konnte das Gespräch sehen. Die Bedienung räumte später meinen Teller mit den nicht genießbaren Salatstücken ab und warf diese sofort in den Mülleimer am Eingang zur Küche - also ohne den Kochenden zu zeigen, was man Gästen nicht servieren darf. Dass der Salat nicht frisch war, konnte ich deutlich nach dem Essen merken, denn es ging mir danach nicht besonders gut. Meine Beschwerde wurde also weder ernst genommen, noch sah man sich dazu veranlasst, den eigenen Fehler irgendwie erkennbar gut zu machen. Ich werde dieses Lokal, das mir nun zum schon zweiten Mal Lebensmittel serviert hat, die sichtbar nicht mehr frisch sind, nicht mehr aufsuchen.

I had a Caesars chicken salad. The salad mixture visibly came straight from the bag to the plate, and no one had even bothered to take apart the leaves of the iceberg lettuce pieces. The cut edges of the iceberg lettuce were already pink, which is a clear indication of a lack of freshness and shows that bacteria are already living here. My complaint was not taken seriously in any way, but was dismissed as an empty phrase and certainly not passed on to the kitchen, as promised. This was clearly visible from where I was sitting and taking a complaint seriously from a restaurant is a different story. The fact that I didn't tolerate the salad well from a health perspective confirms my visual impressions. Today was the last time I was there, as it wasn't the time that I experienced that no attention was paid to freshness. It's a shame, because otherwise the restaurant is very charming.

We traveled to the gospel event in Koblenz last weekend and ate at MA several times because we really liked the ambience and the dishes. A very fancy restaurant; probably unique. I will recommend the MA.

Lately this has been my favorite place to meet up with friends. The atmosphere here is good, the decor is stylish and it's easy to get here by public transport.

Open continuously... pleasant indeed when you are hungry in the middle of the day. Recent address, large, with charming spots to relax and chill. A well-filled card but not very practical with all these sheets. Newspaper format would be preferable. We will definitely come back to discover the rest and the dessert menu

The best breakfast buffet with vegan options I've ever eaten. Various spreads and even cold cuts. The only other thing I know is that as a vegan you only get jam. I was very happy that things are different here. And the bread tastes incredibly good! Really fluffy and delicious :) I will now always have breakfast here when I visit Essen

We were there for breakfast. It was OK. But nothing more. The cake stand with fruit could have been decorated in a more visually appealing way. The service also left a lot to be desired.

On a beautiful Saturday lunchtime, sat outside, had a delicious meal (a bowl and seasonal strawberry pancakes) and was served very nicely. The overall rating is only 4 stars, as it is quite expensive (a 0.5l spritzer costs around €6 depending on the variety) - drinking or even eating something is a luxury.

I was at Ma for the first time on Monday, I was completely blown away by the furnishings... very tasteful and not so sterile. The waitress was super nice, in a good mood and friendly... I had the impression that she had fun doing her job. The food, baked potato with chicken strips of arugula and a few cherry tomatoes, was ok At €16, I swallowed a bit because it wasn't enough to fill me up. But I also see that the rent, personnel costs and energy are a number that need to be managed. .. therefore OK The men's toilet is an absolute disaster, when you open the door you are greeted by a rush of acrid urine stench. That shouldn't happen in such a great restaurant, it's certainly partly due to the guests... but mainly due to the management who ignores it and the negligence of the cleaning staff. It's definitely not a dream job... but you can still do it properly.

Recommended place to have an aperitif or drink on sunny days on the terrace. Good atmosphere and attention.

It's true that it's been my favorite bar, cafe, whatever for a while now, but somehow lately the shandy tasted like spühli. I was with a colleague and had burgers here, even the real ones weren't that good. I don't know if there's something different in the store or not I'm crazy but I'd rather go to Rosemarie

17€ for this Ceaser salad salad. If only it was fresh....No, it's this dry bitter salad from the bag. I ordered it to go and only after it was brought out to me was I told that there was no cutlery to take away. How am I supposed to eat it? Couldn't you have said that beforehand? The chicken was also forgotten at first, luckily I noticed it after I ran out.

Today I was there with my friends. Unfortunately, they made my day a disaster. I ordered cheesecake cream and they bring me yogurt with fruit. It really was like that. Another issue was the unfriendly waitress. There were so many empty tables for new customers to sit at. But every 5 minutes the waitress would come and ask, "Do you need anything? Do you want to pay?" And finally we got fed up and went to another restaurant. Really now I understand why I'm getting more and more empty every day. I hope the manager will see my feedback and try to solve these problems in the restaurant.

The Asian bowl I ordered was an absolute failure. It was pre-prepared Asian vegetables that were in an indefinable sauce and had already been completely softened, as well as rice. In my opinion, this has nothing to do with the basic idea of ​​a bowl. To my horror, at the end of my meal I also came across an extremely long, dark hair, so that I finally lost my appetite. When the waitress asked me if I liked it - and I gave my criticism, all she said was: "That's what a bowl looks like here."

The menu is nice and offers plenty of choice for vegetarians and regular guests. I had a bowl that had good toppings, average taste and was quite expensive at €15.00. Unfortunately, while eating I found an insect in my food and pointed it out to the waitress. The reaction was sobering and in the end I even had to pay for the meal in full.

I just loved everything about this place! The food was also amazinh. Specially the bowls. I actually didn‘t take any photos because I couldn‘t wait! And this drink with himbeere was the best!

At Ma you get a wonderful breakfast buffet. Lovingly put together, beautifully presented. There are a variety of dishes that stand out from most breakfast buffets in Essen. If you have breakfast here, you can go home with the feeling that you have done something good for your body and soul. Large selection for everyone (including vegans). The staff is friendly and attentive. I also really like the ambience.

Great cafe/bar. Have been to the MA several times for breakfast or lunch. Super friendly service and quick service. Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday as a buffet was excellent and fresh and plentiful. Freshly squeezed orange juice is included. Bread and rolls, scrambled eggs or omelettes, quark dishes, fruit muesli and vegan things...everything rich and freshly prepared. Coffee costs extra, but that's the case almost everywhere. We are thrilled and would love to come back...

We had been in the MA again for a long time. Drinks were ok. But the chili was, unlike before, overpriced for the small bowl and the taste was also a disappointment. The meat was undercooked and tasted tough. Drink yes, eat no.

We come here again and again for breakfast/brunch and enjoy the varied selection between sweet and savory, light and greasy 😁 The only detraction: no gluten-free options, neither for bread nor for muesli, a bit outdated, so to speak. But otherwise really great 👍

We had to wait almost an hour for snacks and salad, while none of the service staff came to us at least once to apologize or even tell us in advance that it was taking so long, while they preferred to stand together laughing and chatting about private matters. That is not how it works

The MA is minimalist and cozy at the same time, which sounds contradictory at first, but it isn't. And somehow it also has a student and feminine touch. This sets it apart from the many gastro chains in the area. Nice menu, friendly staff and good desserts are a plus.

Nice shop in terms of atmosphere, but the price/performance ratio of the food is not right at all. The burger with frozen patty, brittle bun and ready-made dressing for €15 is just as underground as the garlic pizza. That's a real impudence in this day and age.

Ich war jetzt schon mehrfach zum Frühstücksbuffet da und war jedes Mal begeistert, sowohl vom Geschmack, als auch vom Angebot. Ich finde den Preis völlig angemessen und komme gerne wieder.

I ate dinner here at my last day on vacation here in Essen. The ambiance looks warm and comfortable. The food was delicious and had big portions. I especially loved the garlic aioli that came with the fries. Also, the staff was nice and at was fairly quick to fulfill my order but after, I had to wait for more than 30 mins to get the dessert I ordered. It was fairly busy so I just kinda understood why it took so long. I was also hoping they would offer me a bag for my takeout order since I had a few boxes but I don't know if I should have asked for it instead. Overall a fairly good experience. I might come back the next time I'm in Essen.

Es fällt mir schwer, dies zu schreiben, aber unsere jüngste Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant war wirklich schrecklich. Obwohl das Ambiente zunächst vielversprechend schien, war der Service, den wir erhielten, unglaublich unfreundlich – insbesondere von unserer Kellnerin. Während des Bestellvorgangs änderte ich meine Entscheidung, und ihre Reaktion darauf war schockierend respektlos und demütigend für mich und meine Familie. Die Unfreundlichkeit war so offensichtlich, dass sogar die Kunden am Nebentisch sich dazu entschlossen, das Restaurant zu verlassen. Wir sind sofort aufgestanden und gegangen und haben uns vorgenommen, nie wieder zurückzukehren. Jeder kann mal einen schlechten Tag haben, aber diese Art von Unhöflichkeit ist in der Gastronomiebranche absolut inakzeptabel. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nicht empfehlen und werde auch Freunde und Familie davon abraten.

It's an ok place. A bit overwhelming with all the decoration. Unfortunately it took them almost an hour to get back to our table(which has been directly on their 'walking route') to ask for our next order - some drinks have been empty for half an hour at that point- so we decided to get the check and leave. It wasn't even that busy, still a bunch of empty tables... :/

Sehr schönes Restaurant und leckeres Essen. Gehen dort oftmals in der Woche hin, wenn man Mal wieder keine Lust zum Kochen hat. Leckeres Stanberger Hell und Weizen. Die Pizzaschnecken sind top und die Pizza Cheeseburger Style auch. Das Personal um Anja, Basti, Matthias und Celine ist super und sehr zuvorkommend. Manchmal sind auch andere Mitarbeiter da, dann hakt es ein bisschen und man muss teilweise Recht lang warten. Das ist ein bisschen schade. Und das man im Biergarten wirklich permanent nach Geld gefragt wird, ist wirklich unschön und nervt. Aber da kann das Personal nichts für, die geben sich auch hier alle Mühe.

Ist das beste Frühstücksbuffet was ich kenne (und extrem vegetarisch\vegan friendly.)

Super, ich bin gerne hier, tolles Ambiente! Ich kann die Bowls empfehlen und die X-Cut Fries mit dem Umami Dip :) Das Frühstücksbuffet mit frischen O-Saft ist auch top. Die Sevicekräfte sind alle super nett :), ich empfehle gerade am WE oder Abends zu reservieren.
