An unforgettable day in the Walschänke Distelklinge We celebrated our wedding on April 17th, 2025 in the Walschänke Distelklinge - and it was simply fantastic! We received a warm welcome and professional advice right from the planning stage. The team was there for us at all times, thought along, implemented our wishes and put a lot of passion into making sure that our big day was perfect. The location itself is an absolute insider tip: surrounded by greenery, idyllic and with a very special charm. Our guests were thrilled by the rustic-elegant ambience – a wonderful mix of comfort and style. The food was a real highlight! Fresh, regional, lovingly prepared and tasted at the highest level. Special requests were also implemented without any problems. It was brilliant that the boss conjured up such a delicious wedding cake for us. We would particularly like to emphasize the service: friendly, attentive and pleasantly unobtrusive - simply completely professional. We felt comfortable and welcome from the first moment. Our wedding in the Distelklinge was exactly as we dreamed it would be - maybe even a little more beautiful. Thanks to the entire team for this unforgettable experience! We waren op doorreis van Oostenrijk naar Nederland, hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. We kregen een karaf water met citroen erbij voordat we wat besteld hadden en een mandje stokbrood met kruidenboter en een andere lekkere dressing. Later kregen we de rekening, maar dat werd niet in rekening gebracht. Uiteraard hebben we wel wat fooi gegeven maar we waren helemaal verbaasd toen we terug naar de auto liepen. De fooi had wel wat meer gemogen. Volgende keer komen we zeker weer terug. Daarbij ook nog heel vriendelijk personeel en een mooie ambiance. Zo maak je het niet meer mee.

The ambience is really nice. But the food is lean and you definitely won't feel full. I had the Maultaschen soup and there wasn't even a whole Maultaschen in the soup, really ridiculous. Then I had the game goulash and for 32 euros I got about 200 grams of meat and a dumpling wow. In addition, a speech would be given and the waiter handed out the food instead of just waiting, very rude.

We had our wedding celebration in the closest circle of 16 people in the Hexle. Everything was just perfect. The communication in advance was always friendly and ran smoothly. We were able to discuss everything according to our ideas with those responsible. Special requests, such as a vegan menu for three of the guests, were also made possible. It was also ideal that those traveling from further away could stay in the adjacent Hotel Gloria. The ambience (in the beautiful winter garden), service and food at the celebration were all top notch. Our guests were just as enthusiastic as we were. Also from the hotel. That's exactly what you want for a day like this. A big compliment to the entire staff. And of course you can also stop by Hexle without a special occasion and have an excellent meal!

As a Indian I’m a spice food lover 😊 living Stuttgart since 1 year and try few German restaurant in main city but forgot the taste but today I’m here steinhalde for company dinner and food that I try first time is excellent amazing and unforgettable taste I’m sure is the best restaurant for Swabian food everything is Super tasty im totally satisfy wish to visit aging with family 🙏🏼

Excellent food, generous portions and very friendly staff. The waitress made us sit even though we hadn't booked and it was close to closing. Furthermore, the staff speaks English. Quick service and fair prices. The room is very particular, furnished in typical style, with decorated windows and period details.

Meine Lende Jäger Art war köstlich. Das Fleisch perfekt zubereitet, die Soße wie bei Muttern. Tatsächlich sind auch die Pommes erwähnenswert. Die besten, die ich seit langem hatte. Der Beilagensalt lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. Man hat wirklich das Gefühl, dass in der Küche lauter badische Hausfrauen stehen. Das Personal ist aufmerksam und sehr nett. Auch der Chef hat einen sehr sympathischen und kompetenten Eindruck bei uns hinterlassen. An guten Weinen fehlt es auch nicht und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier noch. Leider findet man das nicht mehr so oft. Merci und wir kommen gerne wieder

Update April 2025: Unfortunately, I have to say that we had to pay a lot the last two times here, you don't get a bill and unfortunately it seems to me as if you are being ripped off here, especially with larger groups. For 4 adults (one meal and two drinks) and 3 children who only eat fries for €180 (without tip) at a kebab shop I find it very outrageous and I can't understand that in any way or calculate how this came about. Original review: Been here a lot over the last few months. The waitress is very friendly, even though it was always very busy, she always has everything in view and is very friendly. The food is always absolutely delicious. I've had soul and different pide and it's always perfect. The prices are also completely reasonable. We never had to wait long either. If you want to eat in Freiberg, I think it's a very good choice. If you want to eat outside you will also find a large outdoor area, which is otherwise difficult to find in Freiberg if you want something good at a cheaper price.

Unfortunately, before 9pm the kitchen was already closed and so we couldn't eat... disappointment!
