Very good inn with a great team that brilliantly manages a fully staffed location with just a few staff. I take my hat off 😊👍 The food tasted delicious, our drinks were refilled in no time, all in all a great evening, despite the restaurant being full. 🥰

The café is in a very nice location. Surrounded by half-timbered houses, on the slope between the upper and lower old town of Essen-Kettwig. From the inside, the café is neither historically old-fashioned nor modern. It seems more like its best days are behind it. The interior is from the 80s or 90s. The staff is dressed very casually (one waitress wore a house suit). I don't necessarily care about a dress code, but clean sensible clothing would inspire more confidence. But the staff was friendly and attentive, which is why it still receives 4 stars. There is a selection of cakes and warm dishes. The portions are good and the food is okay. But in any case the cake is not as special as would be appropriate for the place. It tastes good, but doesn't blow you away.
