Simple Delicious Fast Good Highly recommended cult chip shop. It's just as good as the one next door. Highly recommended: Cakes (I prefer the sour cream cake)

When my Dutch debit card didn't work, the employee told me in a condescending, arrogant tone: "No, only German debit cards!" The coffee and hot chocolate were fine, but a bit pricey; €6.30 in total.

Well, what can I say? It's a chip shop, nothing more and nothing less. If you're on a motorcycle, it's worth a visit, as there are lots of like-minded people there.

I've been coming to Lake Baldeney every now and then for years. The first time was for the soldiers' sports competition in 1988. Yesterday I was there on my new Vespa and reveled in the memories. Unfortunately, prices have risen sharply, and unfortunately not only here. With the last wage increase in the public sector (€62 net), all costs have increased so drastically that our standard of living continues to decline. Nevertheless, yesterday I had currywurst, fries, and mayo and mezzo mix.

I ordered a fries special this afternoon. It was really delicious. The service was also very competent, and it was easy to have a good conversation with them. The younger colleague with the glasses and the E36 was particularly nice and easy to chat with. Keep up the good work. Good luck!

Always worth a bike ride, food and cake very tasty

Everything a motorcycle meet-up in the Ruhr region should have. Good food, friendly staff who are always good to chat with, and a really nice atmosphere. You can always stop by for a Coke or a currywurst if you're in the area.

Good selection of drinks and snacks, reasonable prices, and the cappuccino was delicious.

As a motorcyclist, this has been a staple for years as a stopover for a culinary refueling experience. It's good value for money, and the food is delicious, too. We'd happily come back and continue to come here. By the way, the currywurst and fries are a real must (very tasty 😋). We now also drive here for a stroll. The fantastic view of Lake Baldeney is always worth the trip.

Great food and the bratwurst tastes like adriens cafe

Unfortunately, it's completely overpriced for a "drinking hall," more like a snack bar. A large portion of fries, which are still very small, costs €5, the cheapest bratwurst in an old bun, or a 0.33 liter Coke for €3.50 plus deposit. Plus, there are pay-toilet containers and a rude manager. The prices are similar to a restaurant, but when there's nothing else around except for two kiosks, you can certainly gamble on the prices.

A great place for a break for canoeists; this is true Ruhr area in the 21st century. I can't say much about the biker meeting place.

Everything just works here. The food is excellent, the service is fast and very friendly. The prices are reasonable. Add to that the fact that it's a very nice spot by the lake. There's a good atmosphere among bikers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Highly recommended.

The ride there by motorcycle alone is a lot of fun. Currywurst, fries, and a Coke, the view of Lake Baldeney and all the bikes. The interaction with other motorcyclists from all over the Ruhr area. Cyclists and roller skaters are also there in large numbers.

I've been riding there on my motorcycle for years and have always been very satisfied. Unfortunately, a lot has changed there: too many cars, people park motorcycles inconsiderately, and the bike pros in their Borat costumes think they own the world.

No. I waited half an hour for a currywurst with fries and then asked where it was (they answered, they shouted that it was ready, even though I was standing next to it the whole time). Then I went straight to the other stand and had it in 5 minutes. Now that's what I call service. Never again.

You either like it or you don't. Long lines. Loud, due to the large number of bikers.

Beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Baldeney, it's a popular meeting place for motorcycle enthusiasts. It can get quite crowded in good weather, especially on weekends. A particularly popular dish: currywurst with French fries.

On June 13, 2025, I happily stopped in for the first time (at least for now) after a long break for a snack/beer break. 2 x currywurst/fries/mayo (fairly standard plastic containers, not large portions, absolutely average) + 2 Stauder (€21) and a few squashed sausages, although the aforementioned culinary classic now tastes better in other parts of town - sorry. A certain time is enough, and you definitely won't be starving down there. Unfortunately, we'll be passing through soon. Service wasn't unfriendly, but now more like a waitress. I know of other equally busy spots where it's now the same as it used to be at your place.

Always worth a trip, whether by bike or motorcycle. Very good value for money. The delicious stews, fries, and cakes are also very tasty and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is friendly and fun, and the staff are friendly. The only criticism of this place is the lack of e-bike charging stations. It would be ideal to have good food and drinks on one side and e-bike charging on the other. I think many visitors would welcome that. There are also two charging stations for cars. But I still have hope...

Cult biker meeting place with ambitious prices

The Trinkhalle is one of two very similar ones. It is located directly on Lake Baldeney. The square in front of it is the popular biker hangout "Haus Scheppen." Not only motorcyclists, but also hikers, cyclists, and inline skaters meet here (for simplicity, I use the masculine form here, but all genders are included).

Delicious, affordable, and friendly staff. They also always have nice daily specials like pea soup or goulash with noodles. So you don't necessarily have to have fries and currywurst.

Great curry fries but the fact that people are charging money for completely dirty toilets is just audacious. The machine also doesn't give change. It often costs €1 to get your motorcycle clothes dirty because the cabin is smaller than a Dixi.

A visit for coffee/cake is always worth it. Haus Scheppen and Lake Baldeneysee are simply great when the weather is nice

Charging €10.40 for fries, currywurst, and a small Coke is outrageous. After all, it's not a restaurant, but a wooden shack by the lake.

It's one of my favorite day-trip destinations. I can highly recommend the restaurant. It's only very crowded on weekends when the weather's nice.

The food is ok, but unfortunately after a few increases it is too expensive for the quality. But what annoys me most is the unfriendliness. No good morning and very grim expression on face. After a friendly “thank you” and a few euros tip, not a word was returned. This has happened to me twice now and so it's no longer worth visiting for me. You can probably afford it given the large number of guests.

The meeting point par excellence for all day trippers. There is always something to see. Drinking and a snack in the form of chips or cake are always included.

Haus Scheppen is a cult place, prices are okay

A place that terrorizes people with noise, sometimes for miles. As a resident, it's no longer nice here when the sun is shining. It hums and rattles constantly. None of the perpetrators are willing to talk. A few individuals are allowed to determine the peace and quiet of tens of thousands. A very sad place.

The legendary biker meeting at Haus Scheppen! Always friendly and helpful staff! All dishes are recommended and a special tip is the kale in the colder season. I've been visiting the little shop for over 40 years!

Also 24 times a year with the bike from Moers there. Always take a break at the motorradtreff. Simply cult. Beautiful beer garden. Very fast and friendly service even when there is a long line at the counter! Food quite ok! But sour cream cake and a pot of coffee always work! Good pea soup and lentils! Prices have increased several times over the years!

Very large fresh kitchen pieces. Apple ginger punch, particularly delicious. The team is incredibly well coordinated and very friendly. Always summer, plenty of seating, but it could get very crowded. There is a jetty within walking distance. I have known this place for 34 years.

Went there today on October 20th, 2024 After ordering, there was absolute chaos with the food being served, and an employee approached us in an unfriendly manner due to a misunderstanding which could be avoided with sensible order numbers. Instead you got hit on. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't as you would imagine - my wife's fries were over-seasoned with fries and the portion size was rather too small for €4.50. The currywurst was too bland and the sauce had no pizzazz. Conclusion we won't come again.

Been there on 10/20/24. Ordered fries special and currywurst. For 4.50 I think the portion of fries is much too small and they didn't taste good either. The bit of onions on it was a joke. The mayo didn't taste like regular mayonnaise. The fries had too much seasoning on them, but somehow the seasoning didn't taste good either. Staff unfriendly because we didn't know that our order would be put together on a tray and my husband had accepted the first portion of fries that came and put it aside. You could have said it more kindly instead of complaining in an unfriendly manner. It sounded like someone was insinuating that we wanted to steal the food. Don't come back.

I was there during the week and therefore it wasn't that crowded. Good selection of dishes, whether something warm, hearty or just a delicious piece of cake. The selection of drinks is also very good. Toilets are also available, clean and tidy. All in all, a nice place to take a break from your hiking/motorcycle tour.

Today we had dinner at Adrian's Trinkhalle after years. When we ordered we were looked at from top to bottom with a not nice look. After we said our order, we were literally told what to order. We ordered a bratwurst with mustard and no bun. The gentleman passed the order on to a young employee who was in the kitchen. It was said to be a bratwurst with a bun. We did not place this order. When we asked the gentleman about it, a stupid saying was said. We have to come to an agreement, how else are we supposed to eat the bratwurst. We believe that the gentleman has not heard of cutlery. The bowl where the coleslaw was was a very small glass bowl that wasn't even half full and that for €2.50. For €2.50 you would actually have expected a homemade coleslaw. Furthermore, the mustard was missing from the bratwurst. For this reason, we went by again and asked the gentleman to put the mustard on the bratwurst. This was followed by a not nice reaction; it was replied that one should remain calm and friendly. At no point was any of us loud or unfriendly. Then the following words were said: Here girl, here's your mustard and slammed the tube of mustard on the counter. All of this happened in a tone that the customers all knew in which tone the gentleman was speaking to them. This is really not customer friendly. This is behavior that is completely unacceptable and cannot be tolerated. Unfortunately, society today is no longer what it used to be, which is a real shame. Next time we will visit the favorite stall directly opposite, they know what decency means.

A short walk and then some baking like Grandma's? You can have it! It doesn't matter whether it's with the bags or your pearl, you just find it nice to always look at something, have a chat and have a touch of vacation.

The food is okay. But I have definitely eaten better fries and currywurst. I think it's an absolute disgrace that men can pee in the urinals for free, but women can pay 50 cents in the toilets. Unbelievable 😡 Otherwise cool biker meeting with a great view of the lake.

Unfortunately the prices here have been increased so much that I can also go to a restaurant for it. I am served there too. An example: the wheat beer previously cost €3.50 and now costs €4.70. The situation is similar with the food. It has come a long way from being an inexpensive motorcycle meeting place.

Not exactly an idyllic beer garden but well suited for a break by the lake. At €3 per 1/2 liter, the drinks prices are cheaper than anywhere else.

To get a super tasty currywurst with crispy fries at a moderate price just for a 3€ coke is a bit excessive, as the currywurst with fries for 6.80€ is almost free with mayo of course 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Even though I haven't been here for a long time, about 10 years, nothing has changed, so this is still the best and fastest chip shop on the lake! No matter what you ordered, you pay and before you've pocketed your change, boom - food is ready. I now come here regularly again with my new moped and get bratwurst and fries from you. Always have a nice chat and eat delicious food. You are the best!
