Unfortunately no longer recommended We have enjoyed going to Sumo for years and have expressly recommended the restaurant several times. Unfortunately, we can no longer do this in good conscience as the following points have taken a turn for the worse: • Rising prices for smaller portions: The nigiri have become at least 1/3 smaller and the maki rolls are smaller than the discount sushi that calls itself sushi. • Negligent service: In the past, guests were served quickly, attentively and in a friendly manner. Now the reserved table is not free when you arrive and you are instructed to wait. We waited 15 minutes for a table to be vacated, where the guests had already paid and emptied their drinks when we arrived. The staff didn't feel the need to inform guests about our reservation. Even when we said after 15 minutes that we weren't waiting any longer and were leaving, the waiter just made a face and pointed out that other tables would probably pay soon too. We find it very unfortunate that Sumo has developed this way and will now try other sushi restaurants in Würzburg.

Very unfriendly service. You first wait 15 minutes until you can place the order for to go. Long waiting times are completely okay, but if things are stressful, I completely understand that. But when you finally get to the front of the line, I don't think it's okay to be told off with a short “wait”. I just stood there and didn't say anything. A simple “Hello, just a moment please” would have done the trick. But “Hello”, “Thank you” or “Please” seem to be foreign words for the lady. When paying, the next problem... it's ridiculous to make a big fuss just because one note has a small tear on the corner... The note is worth the same, with or without a tear. If you only accept cash payments, you shouldn't complain about something like that forever. Here too there was a huge lack of friendliness. If this is such a huge problem for you, you could have asked me nicely for a different note, but NO, you will once again be loudly insulted in front of all the customers that you could never accept such a note. To be honest, take it or Leave it. But such people who lack any kind of friendliness should not run a business in this industry... The experience really disappointed me personally, I am really a friendly, open-minded person, you can also talk to me respectfully in a normal tone..

The buffet is not recommended. It is usually only refilled upon request. Little choice.

Super tasty food, good value for money, fresh ingredients, simple but quiet and clean atmosphere. Definitely recommended!

We are currently visiting Würzburg a few years after our studies and had to try our favorite sushi at the time. And what can I say... today as then, for us, it's simply the very best sushi far and wide. It is always freshly prepared and you can taste it. The ingredients (e.g. avocado) are not stingy here either. Simply top and recommended to everyone!

Friendly staff and food as you would expect at an Asian snack bar. You can also buy other little things there. Overall recommended! Addendum 6 years later: The food is still prepared in front of you, but there is now only one employee. The little things you could buy are no longer there. Otherwise everything seems very listless and loveless.
