The first impression was ok. We were greeted warmly, but we were given the impression that we were already there late (despite the fact that we were there over an hour before the official closing time) and that we were being served as a gesture of goodwill. Food was very expensive compared to other Thai restaurants (even in the city center) and the portions were small. We weren't full. A roast duck outside the city for €20 is quite expensive. It was a real shame that after we had eaten, the restaurant owner spent a long time explaining to us why it was expensive, and that the reason the prices were so expensive was because he and his really nice wife would be in the kitchen all day (that's true also the workplace of chefs?!). He also told us that other guests criticized the expensive prices and that's why he kicked them out of the restaurant and explained that they should never come back. This met with great disapproval for us personally. We probably won't come anymore because we don't want to leave the restaurant with negative thoughts when we have dinner. We are also not interested in the relationships between the tax office and the restaurant owner.

A restaurant that we always enjoy going to and particularly look forward to a wonderful Viennese schnitzel or the various rump steak variations. A small starter or soup is always served and most dishes are accompanied by an excellent salad plate. And all at a reasonable price. The restaurant is also recommended for festivities and out-of-home service for larger groups.

Really delicious lunch with changing dishes. Quick preparation, friendly service. The selection from the salad buffet varies and never gets boring.

The food is quite good, but unfortunately too expensive. The waiting times are extremely limited - unfortunately a free coffee afterwards doesn't make it any better.

We were guests at the Bliesgau Scheune for the second time in a short time to have a little something to eat. Overall, we see the dishes we received as being of a fairly decent standard, but they haven't really convinced us yet. With a tarte flambée, the Lyoner pan, a burger and the gourmet schnitzel, we tried different dishes from different categories, and while we found three of the four dishes to be rather unspectacular and too bland in terms of taste, we only really liked the well-topped burger. I also had the onion soup as a starter twice, which on the first visit was really tasty and spicy with a good amount of ingredients, but on the second visit it tasted very weak and unspectacular with significantly less ingredients. We still see potential for improvement in the dishes that have a good portion size overall, but we will certainly test this restaurant again in the foreseeable future. The restaurant consists of a nicely designed, rustic dining room in the form of a large log cabin with lots of wooden elements, and thus offers a rustic, cozy atmosphere in which to linger. There is also a small outdoor terrace where you can sit nicely when the weather is nice. The staff has been really friendly and attentive so far, and our food and drinks were served to us quickly on both visits. Based on our first impressions, this excursion restaurant seems to us to be a good place to grab a bite to eat and/or have a drink from the nice menu, which includes schnitzels, burgers, salads and pizzas as well as some Saarland and French dishes. However, in our opinion, the taste of the dishes currently does not come close to that of better restaurants.
