We were guests at the Bliesgau Scheune for the third time in just a few months to have a spontaneous and uncomplicated bite to eat. Overall, the menu offers a pretty nice mix of different dishes, such as some schnitzels, burgers, grilled dishes, salads, tarte flambées and Saarland dishes. During our visits we have now tested dishes from all categories of the menu, and from the overall impression we see the dishes received as being of a fairly good standard, but so far they have not really convinced us in terms of taste. Unfortunately, the dishes, which were of rather good quality, usually had a rather bland and rather unspectacular taste due to the lack of interesting seasoning. So we still see potential for improvement in the dishes, which overall have a good portion size and are therefore appropriate for the price. The restaurant consists of a nice, rustic guest room with lots of wooden elements in the form of a large log cabin, and therefore offers a really rustic, cozy atmosphere in which to linger. There is also a small outdoor terrace where you can sit and enjoy a cold drink when the weather is nice. The staff has always been very friendly and attentive, and our food and drinks were served to us quickly on all of our visits. Based on our impressions so far, this excursion restaurant seems suitable to us to grab a bite to eat and/or have something to drink. However, in our opinion, the food currently does not come close to the taste of better restaurants. Nevertheless, we would like to be guests here again in the future.
