So, that cost €17.40! Lunch special… rubbery, frozen calamari rings, doner meat—what a joke! 😂 Have you never eaten a real gyro in your life?! 😅 I hope you'll use the extra money to travel to Greece someday and eat a proper gyro there! 🫡 That was the first and last time here. Enjoy your meal! 🤣🤣🤣
The food is okay – standard, nothing special, but better than many other Italian restaurants in Sülz/Klettenberg (unfortunately, I don't know any truly top-notch Italian restaurants there). I don't find the atmosphere particularly cozy – but that's a matter of taste.
We stopped here by chance returning from our holiday (we prefer to stop at local restaurants rather than Autobahn petrol stations) based on reviews and photos. We weren't disappointed. There is ample parking space in front, the interiors are a good mix of tradition and modern and the dining rooms are welcoming. The staff were really nice and courteous. The food was excellent - home style, a lot of flavours and abundant portions. We had the haxl (yum! The bed of fresh sauerkraut was a great idea) and the spaezle, we also had the Keiserschmarn (lovely and caramelized). There is a lot of attention to detail, not just in the food, but also the beer mats with the funny phrases, the menu in German (and a qr for for the English) and also the Bavarian dialect throughout.
Bathrooms are super clean and modern (and in the ladies' one there are even hygiene products and deodorants, which is a thoughtful touch). We will definitely be keeping it on our list of places to stopwhenw we're passing in the area!!
In winter, they have delicious baked apple mulled wine, and I also enjoyed the chili.
In summer, it's a great place to be, with tasty cocktails, a variety of beers, and delicious treats like the spicy sausage and the pan-fried sausage.
The service is friendly and welcoming!
