Unfortunately, we couldn't reconcile the quality and price with the service. It was our first time here and perhaps our expectations were too high. The oysters (Fine Claire) were very fresh and good, as were the desserts. The crème brûlée and sorbet variations (basil, lychee, and strawberry) were very tasty (although the latter was too large in portions). The aim (according to the chef) is to prepare the fish perfectly on the charcoal grill; unfortunately, our Loupe de Mer was grilled too "hard," the skin mostly blackened, and the meat was already very cooked and dry around the edges. Admittedly, I didn't mention it to the chef until afterward. Nevertheless, a gesture like the espresso on the house would have been nice.
Unfortunately, the service also doesn't live up to expectations. The waitress asks who wants what and, after receiving an answer, serves the man at the table first. There's no separate butter knife on the bread plate for spreading the bread, and no fish cutlery, except for a fork for the oysters.
The atmosphere is great, because it's right next to the slaughterhouse. The downside is that there was some truck traffic on a Friday evening (we sat outside) and a few annoying flies.
I was staying at a hotel nearby during a business trip. This restaurant, with its young staff, was recommended to me.
The food was a culinary delight. The staff was polite and attentive, but not intrusive. The ambiance was charmingly Bavarian, but not overly so.
Thank you very much.
The food was delicious and the portions were generous. There were three of us, and all three meals were truly excellent. The prices were also reasonable. We went on a Monday, so it probably wasn't that busy, and we were served very quickly.
Hopefully the kitchen is cleaner than the toilet!!
If I had gone to the toilet before eating, I would have left the restaurant.
The picture shows the toilet door from the outside. The rest of the interior looks just as unappealing.
The food tasted really good, and the guesthouse is also attractive and clean.
The food was ordered "to go", which is why the ambience cannot be assessed. The service during the ordering and pickup process was good and friendly. The food tasted very good. The food was ordered "very spicy" (the restaurant offers different levels of spiciness), the level of spiciness was absolutely to my liking. In my opinion, there could have been a little more meat. The quality of the food was just as good as the price-performance ratio. Overall, I can recommend the food from this restaurant.
The first thought that comes to mind when I think of this place is – all show and no substance.
We ate there one evening, just the two of us. Upon entering, we were immediately informed that our table was "reserved for us for about two hours." Hmm, okay – the restaurant is small and relatively busy, so one could understand the situation, but this assembly-line approach isn't exactly refined.
The service was attentive, but impersonal.
The food. If you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine, this is the wrong place, in my opinion. They focus on a more refined version of Thai cuisine, with lots of presentation but little flavor, and at a high price. The quality-to-price ratio is, in my opinion, not right. Our curry lacked the typical Thai herbs and spices. That's not what an authentic red curry tastes like. The mango sticky rice for dessert looked pretty, but unfortunately, it didn't taste very good either.
We ordered two cocktails as digestifs, which we planned to enjoy at our leisure, but less than 10 minutes later the waiter came and wordlessly placed the bill on the table. My thought was, if we were already leaving, why did he even take our order? That's not customer-friendly service! This is further evidenced by the fact that they knew it was my husband's birthday that day – something that should have been mentioned when making the reservation – and they didn't even acknowledge it. It was completely ignored.
All in all, not recommended.
Very friendly and attentive staff!
The cordon bleu was excellent as always!
Unfortunately, the meat in the Swabian stew was a bit too cut for our taste!
But otherwise, everything was very tasty!
