The food is just average. If I'm paying around 20 euros for a roast in the country, there has to be more taste. Unfortunately it has become very expensive for what you get in terms of taste. We can't get any further, it's too far for us, so I'd rather fire up my grill.
Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended. We were looking for a sushi supplier and ended up here.
You couldn't place orders online, so you looked at the menu, selected everything and drove straight there.
All dishes with duck are not available today, which was the first disappointment. Well, everything was changed with a lot of back and forth and linguistic misunderstandings and new dishes were chosen.
When we got home, we discovered that out of 9 dishes there were only 8 in the bag :-(. But then there was another dish that was completely different than what was ordered 🤷♀️.
We also thought it tasted terrible. Aside from that
Sushi, which you could eat well, was really very tasteless and poorly prepared. The fried noodles (which you can't really go wrong with), which were one sticky lump, didn't even taste good for the children. The chicken was dry, fried almost tough and the spring rolls were also very dry and fried for too long. A sad experience for over €100. We'd rather try something else. Too bad.
Ordered online, it took exactly 2 hours to get there, service was subpar - never again!
Also delivered wrong food.
We've already eaten at a few Asian and Japanese restaurants, but the food we ordered from Mr. Ca wasn't good.
Went to the “Fränkisches Wirtshaus” in Lauf an der Pegnitz on Mother’s Day. I have often noticed the house, which is located directly on the B14, while cycling past.
From the outside it makes a rather inconspicuous impression.
At home I looked up more details about the “Wirtshaus” on the web. The food combination is rather unusual: Franconian-German-Asian. I called shortly after 11 a.m. to ask for space, as it was Mother's Day and at quite short notice. The reservation has been confirmed when we arrive soon. Since we generally go to dinner around 11:30 a.m., no problem. The interior design surprised us positively. Unfortunately it doesn't have an outdoor area.
There are 2 dining areas downstairs and then the stairs take you to the upper guest room, where the toilets were also located. Only the lower (conditionally) room would be suitable for wheelchair users.
The menu (available on the web or FB. In general, make sure it is up to date) is more visually classic. I ordered a wheat beer, and my companions ordered homemade lemonade. We were the first in the restaurant, the service was friendly and attentive the whole time, even though more and more guests came after us, and she brought the orders, drinks and food almost alone. Later a young man came to help her. The service, probably also the "boss", had everything under control... TOP.
The waiting time for drinks and food was absolutely more than OK...
The side salad was wonderfully fresh and tasty and sufficient, my "crispy duck" was a dream (14.90 €) and my companions had "grilled pork loin" (15.90 €), according to their statement, also very tasty.
What struck me negatively:
I found out about the menu online beforehand, some of which were completely out of date. Then one website said opening time was 11:30 a.m. and the other said opening time was 11 a.m.
On the door it said "cash only", which is absolutely not OK these days, especially for such a great "tavern".
In terms of price, everyone can offer their own opinion (the current menu is available on FB as of 5/2025).
I found the prices for the food to be absolutely OK. But for the drinks a bottle of Weizn €4.20 and the soda €5.50 (0.4 l) are absolutely excessive for our area.
City dwellers may see it differently. Because of the drinks prices, which are excessive for me, no card payment and some of the data on the web (menu, opening times, etc.) are not up to date, there is a deduction of one point.
We had ordered schnitzel with fries...as we were already eating I discovered something on one of the fries that looked like a small fried spider, which was very disgusting. I've lost my appetite! I called and explained the matter and they simply dismissed it as stressing out a lot of orders and simply hung up! That's not how you treat customers, what's the point??? We don't order there anymore
Always great!
We have been there many times and will continue to be loyal guests.
The bad reviews are incomprehensible to me. The schnitzels are all freshly beaten and prepared, the service staff and the chef are super friendly and the food is always great. Nobody has left the restaurant hungry yet. We recommend the schnitzel plate, where you can choose 4 different schnitzels and choose the side dishes. Perfect for those who are undecided.
Price-performance fits.
The restaurant itself is simple but always warm and cozy.
I hope you feel comfortable in your new location, without the constant stress of friendly neighbors.
We'll be back😁
We ordered from Arriba for the first time in ages and were disappointed. The pizza bread was bone dry, and the family pizza was cold and so thin you couldn't even pick it up without the toppings falling off because it would collapse. The taste wasn't great either.
Very outrageous last week...We let people at the counter and into the restaurant and then suddenly they didn't give anything out and kicked people out...
We were speechless...
