Extremely cozy atmosphere in a very beautiful location, great, committed and extremely friendly service team and of course tasty, good food with ingredients from the region (we had breakfast). Really fair prices.

We came to eat because of the score... and what a success! After spending the morning on the Bad Wildbad walkway, Baumwipfelpfad Schwarzwald, and before the afternoon plan, we stopped at JJs Raugrund, a restaurant that, passing from the outside, might not catch our attention. We left the car parked at the door, on the same road (no problem) and tried different versions of schnitzel (breaded meat) that were delicious (and the stuffed Cordon bleu). The staff is very attentive, the place is very curious and the food is top. One of the best places we have eaten on our trip to Germany.

The food was delicious. The service was very nice and attentive, almost too attentive, at least we thought. Prices okay.

Visit for dinner on March 23, 2025 Nice Italian restaurant with a lot of choice, large portions at good prices, fast and friendly service. Conclusion: full recommendation!!!

We found the restaurant here on Google Maps by chance and wanted to try it. The service was good, the owner's wife (?) who was there that day was very nice, the service was also quick (but there was almost nothing going on). The ambience in the wooden hut is nice, but could perhaps be made a little more comfortable, for example with nicer/shallower lighting. The musical background was SWR 3, which was ok but personally I always find radio to be a thing... Now for food: The salty tarte flambées were very good! Nice dough and plenty of toppings, the sour cream was very tasty! However, the sweet tarte flambée wasn't particularly convincing. I had one with Nutella and it was actually just dry. Tip: Add the Nutella only after baking. But the prices are convincing across the board (the classic Alsatian, for example, costs just €10.90)! All in one it's really nice :)

We went there for two beers. The service was great, the atmosphere was very pleasant. Not the biggest beer selection. We didn't eat anything, but we felt welcome and would definitely go there again.

The highlight in Bad Wildbad. Delicious beer and tasty regional dishes. We felt very comfortable.

Down-to-earth Swabian restaurant. Very tasty food and super friendly staff! Highly recommended! What is particularly noteworthy is that you can also get the dishes in small portions.

Here is our very personal impression of the Hotel Rothfuß: The food was excellent, special requests were taken into account, great breakfast buffet, everything was very clean, nice view, quiet and everything was a bit old school. Very good ! - 15 plus points for that. BUT : 1.) To load and unload luggage, you have to drive up the mountain from the bottom to the front door. There is no elevator into the house from the small garage down the street (4 parking spaces, one blocked by things). We were told that the house was built on granite and that we were not allowed to blow it up. Good - only: The guest has the inconvenience. Due to a lack of experience, I parked my car because I took the curve too narrow on the steep approach to the house. For €400 double/HP per day I can expect my luggage to get to the car easily and not the other way around. - 1 minus point. 2.) The waiting time between courses at dinner is sometimes long. However, this is not actually due to the high utilization of the kitchen, but rather because the service staff gives the guest “forced breaks” without being asked in order to promote comfort. But we only found out about that last evening. When I asked before dessert whether we had been basically forgotten, I was told, no, the next course hadn't even been served in the kitchen yet!? I was speechless. Actually, the guest should decide whether he wants to continue straight away after clearing the dishes or whether he would rather take a break, not the staff! In other hotels you are actively asked about it; not here. So tip: It's best not to forget to mention right from the start if you generally value speed more than comfort. Yes, there are such guests. - 2 minus points 3.) Small things: It's a bit too cool in the restaurant, and the water in the two pools could also be 2-3 degrees warmer. Yes, that costs energy, but as I said, you pay a high price, which has to be included in a 4-star hotel. In addition, the lowest step of the indoor pool is very high, so you practically have to jump into the water. Later, when you get out, you have to lift your leg very high and use the railing to pull yourself up to the lowest step. Many people have problems with this. There is only one beautician for the entire hotel. Last but not least, the WiFi is weak. The cell phones couldn't connect at all, and the tablets often had dropouts. - 2 minus points in total. 4.) There were several people in the lobby when we checked out. But the boss didn't hesitate to make fun of everyone audibly about the fact that one of the guests didn't give a tip! Hello !? Unbelievable. But that shows the obvious priorities in this hotel. - 3 minus points So a total of 15 plus points minus 8 minus points from our point of view... unfortunately that halves the rate. Too bad.
