Restaurant Pizzeria Portofino in Bad Wildbad

This isn't just a bad restaurant; it's a place guaranteed to ruin your evening. Definitely the worst dining experience I've had in the last year and a half. The service is beyond disrespectful. Even though the restaurant was practically empty (only four tables were occupied), two (!) waiters couldn't manage to bring us the bill within ten minutes. When we asked the waitress to please take our payment quickly, she snapped at us in an outrageous tone: "Slow down!" Such behavior towards paying customers is absolutely unacceptable. The food is a complete disgrace. We ordered antipasti for a hefty €17. For that price, they can't even be bothered to serve decent ingredients. The cheese came with literally a tiny, completely green, and rock-hard piece of tomato. Even in the cheapest Edeka supermarket, you'd have to search long and hard to find vegetables of such abysmal quality. The absolute worst part, however, was the blatant misrepresentation on the menu. What was being sold as "veal carpaccio" turned out to be a piece of the cheapest, toughest beef, cut into thick slices. Anyone who doesn't know what real carpaccio looks like and how it's prepared has absolutely no business working in a professional kitchen. I sincerely hope this place closes soon and makes way for a restaurateur who appreciates their customers. The current staff has definitely chosen the wrong profession in the service industry. If you're coming to this beautiful town and want to have a nice evening, steer clear of this place. It's not worth your money, nor is it worth the one star it deserves. Save yourself the money, the stomach, and your sanity.

The salad and soup were very good. Unfortunately, the main course was very disappointing. The saltimbocca and scaloppine were very disappointing because they were of poor quality. The potatoes and vegetables were burnt and cooked without oil. This Italian restaurant is not recommended for meat dishes.

Unfortunately, the visit was a disappointment. The main problem is the food: the prices are extremely high, but the taste is merely mediocre. It feels like the pizza tastes better, or at least just as good, at any other pizzeria – but for a fraction of the price. The drinks are also ridiculously overpriced. In addition, the restrooms were in very poor condition and the staff seemed overwhelmed, which completed the negative overall impression. For the money, there are definitely much better alternatives that are not only cheaper but also taste better.

It was ridiculously overpriced. We paid €8.00 for a 0.25-liter carafe of wine and €7.00 for a 0.5-liter bottle of water. We didn't eat anything after that. A pizza for €17.00 is way too expensive.

A nice pizzeria with a cozy atmosphere. I found the prices quite high, though. Pizzas were between €16 and €20, and a quarter-liter of wine was €8. The food was tasty, and they offered a complimentary grappa, which was great. The service staff, apart from the owner, seemed very untrained and unprofessional. There are two doors in the restaurant, and the staff constantly walk around you in circles. I found that annoying.

Fantastic food in a lovely atmosphere! We were here on a sunny Monday and ordered the veal with mushrooms and the tortellini. All the dishes were incredibly delicious! The veal, in particular, was wonderfully tender and flavorful. The mushrooms had perfectly absorbed the white wine sauce and harmonized beautifully with it, creating a creamy and aromatic sauce. What surprised me most, however, was the subtle hint of chili in the mushroom pasta. This perfectly balanced spiciness balanced the rather robust flavors of the mushrooms and meat perfectly and made it truly appetizing! I've never eaten such fantastic pasta in a restaurant before. We'll definitely be back! 😆😆

After visiting the thermal baths, we were looking for a good place to eat and relied on Google Maps reviews. Pizzeria Portofino turned out to be an excellent choice. The staff were very attentive, and the owner himself brought our food. The ambiance is very appealing. The candle on the table is lit, adding to the cozy atmosphere. We ordered stuffed cannelloni al forno and a pizza, both of which were absolutely delicious. The food was piping hot and tasted fantastic. We were pleased to see that, thankfully, there was no pork on the menu. The pizzas are topped with beef salami or turkey ham. Wiener Schnitzel is made with veal. If we're ever in Bad Wildbad again, this will definitely be our favorite spot.

Last night we ordered a large family pizza. The staff and driver were very friendly and delivered a delicious pizza. In our opinion, it was one of the best pizzas we've had in a long time. We highly recommend it.

The food was okay, but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for a vegan 😕. At the end, the bill came to a hefty €185 for seven people, one main course, and one drink each 💶. And that was for pizza 🍕!

Very disappointing...the food was okay, but the portions were very small for the price. Our tiramisu wasn't really tiramisu at all, more like a chocolate cake, and it was presented without any care. The service staff, especially the young woman, were very unfriendly and seemed annoyed with their job. We won't be visiting Portofino again.

I was unfortunately disappointed. The salad was a bland iceberg lettuce, the pizza tasted awful, the pasta Bolognese was without ground beef, with a limp tomato sauce, and the soup was watery. It's a shame, because even friendly service couldn't make up for it. Two slices of dry white bread were also included, which they could have done without. I won't be going back.

During our stay in Bad Wildbad, we were looking for a place to order and pick up pizza for dinner. Even the initial phone call was extremely positive: the employee was very courteous and even offered delivery, although our accommodation was actually outside their regular delivery area. The ordering process was seamless, the pizza tasted good (though it was a bit greasy), and the communication via WhatsApp was consistently friendly, straightforward, and service-oriented. Overall, a truly excellent service, highly recommended.

Pleasant restaurant, food was delicious. The server was constantly "walking around" us – it was a bit tiring, but all in all it was a relaxing stay.

It was a truly unique culinary experience. I'll never eat tagliatelle al salmone anywhere else again! The service and friendliness were excellent, as was the value for money. We'll definitely be back!

Best Italian food far and wide!

I'm wondering where the 4.7 stars come from. The food really wasn't good. I had the Due Pasta, and my girlfriend had the Pizza Fungie. My pasta had hardly any flavor, and when the spinach from the cannelloni arrived, all I could taste was salt. The Pizza Fungie looked far too dry and tasteless, and that's exactly how it tasted. The crust was more like a crispy pastry than a pizza. The service was also mediocre. When I'm greeted, I expect to be shown to my table, not followed around and told I can choose where I want to sit. One server was very unfriendly and didn't seem to enjoy her job at all. The ambiance was okay.

Two of us ordered the pasta, which arrived as a tiny portion that was burnt, a fact they tried to mask with cheese. The Jägerschnitzel was tasteless, overfried, and had too little sauce. Upon our complaint, the staff—who were at least friendly—offered us a tasteless Prosecco.

Waited +1 hr for food. Champagne was served to all tables but no explanations or apologies. Chefs were leaving kitchen to serve, so delays in cooking. Entree was forgotten and then a joke made instead of sorry. Food when served was standard. Not bad/not great. A bit tasteless. Think we also got served bread in a pre-used basket from another table! Just chaotic management it seemed. Vanami next night, amazing service, food and cheaper! Recommend going elsewhere.

The Pizzeria Portofino restaurant is a piece of Italy in Germany! The pizza is crispy and delicious, the pasta dishes are authentic, and the service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The prices are fair, and the portions are generous. I highly recommend Portofino if you're looking for delicious Italian food.

As part of a continuing education course, we were in Bad Wildbad and stumbled upon this Italian restaurant. We visited for the first time last Tuesday. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The food was very good and the value for money was good! Yay, the boss is a cool guy. We enjoyed it so much, we went back on Wednesday and Thursday. We'll be back! ✌🏻💪🏻

The food is always delicious. The driver is always friendly. I like to tip here. The best part is, there's no extra charge for special requests. Thank you for this great service. Even though the pizza chef always sinks into the ground with our pineapple tuna gorgonzola order. But it tastes incredibly good every time. Thank you ❤️

I had such a great experience here. The Caprese salad was super fresh and flavorful a perfect start to the meal. The tortellini was cooked just right and tasted amazing definitely one of the best I’ve had in a while. And to top it all off the tiramisu was absolutely incredible honestly the best I’ve ever eaten. Everything from start to finish was delicious and memorable!

We were the last guests at just before nine. Sure, you want to finish work soon, but it's officially open until 11:00 PM. We ordered pasta and lasagna. The pasta drowned in the sauce, and I personally didn't like the lasagna at all. After the food was brought, there was no further service. We didn't get a bill either. We're surprised where the good reviews come from... too bad, it wasn't the perfect end to a day of wellness.

With no customers, I fired up the oven just before closing time for a single salami pizza, and it was something special. Flat crust, crispy, perfect tomato-to-cheese ratio. A man of honor.

Unfortunately, it's dirty here, with dead flies lying around everywhere, and we also had dirty dishes. The food took a very long time to come, and that wasn't good either. The breading on the calamari was completely tasteless, so I couldn't eat it.

We were very impressed by the ambiance. The food, however, was mediocre. I don't understand the hype surrounding the food. I ordered a Pizza Diavolo, and it had regular salami on it. The whole thing was covered in non-spicy pepperoni. My wife ordered a salad with turkey strips. She asked the waitress to dress everything with oil and vinegar. Due to the language barrier, she got her salad with a yogurt dressing.

After hiking, we went there for dinner. There was no wait, despite the crowd. The service was very friendly, and the food was delicious.

The restaurant is out of order. I sat down there around dinner time, but after a long drive, I first had to use the restroom. It was absolutely filthy. Poo on the wall, no paper towels in the dispenser, and an overload of staff. How clean are they themselves if this hasn't been cleaned? Think twice before sitting here.

Unfortunately, I wasn't satisfied at all. It started with being ignored upon arrival and having to find my own seat, then continued with a waitress who unfortunately didn't speak German very well. Instead of Coke Zero, we were given what I assume was Diet Coke. Instead of still water, we were given sparkling water. The fries were quite bland. The schnitzel was completely dry, and there was a brown piece and an animal hair in the salad. When we wanted to pay, the lady who didn't speak German very well simply ignored us, even though she initially said yes. Only when we asked the colleague were we allowed to pay.

We visited this restaurant today. The chef prepared an exquisite delicacy. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. The waitresses are very friendly and professional. Although I don't speak German, the waitresses speak good English and Russian. Even now, I'm writing through a translator. I highly recommend it!

We ate broccoli soup, spaghetti carbonara, and appetizers, and drank Hugo. Everything was very good and tasty. The portions were just right.

Based on the positive reviews, we went here to give it a try. Tentative young waitresses and super friendly. We ordered 3 pizzas which came quick, one pizza Diavolo was drenched in hot sauce. From what I know pizza Diavolo is made from hot sausage / salami with fresh peppers and not with actual hot sauce poored over it. We were with a party of 3 and we all felt the pizzas were mediocre. I personally wonder how this restaurant can have 4.7 star ratings. Definitely not recommended. 👎

A lovely restaurant, the charming rooms are lovingly decorated, and very attentive service made the end of the day perfect. You have to like the Italian music playlist. The pizza was very down-to-earth: good dough, nicely topped, and baked to the perfect browning in the oven. The salad was very tasty and varied, accompanied by bread with olive oil. The food met our expectations.

We visit the place with the whole family and ordered some pasta pizza and risotto . The pizza was ok . The pasta was good and the risotto was made with different rice than Arborio . It was tasty but not really risotto:) hope they do this on purpose. After the lunch we got some shot of espresso as compliment . That was nice . Atmosphere is fine and overall is a good place with good service.

Review of Pizzeria Portofino I've been eating calzone regularly for years – it feels like 20 times a year – and my wife orders rigatoni al forno just as often. Unfortunately, our last visit was all the more disappointing. The pasta was ice cold when it arrived at the table, the cheese was runny, but the dish as a whole didn't seem freshly prepared. My calzone was cold on one side and burnt on the other. The food was served about 5 minutes after ordering – unusually fast, which unfortunately suggests that it was pre-made and simply reheated. There was hardly any response to our complaint; they simply offered to "reheat" the food. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't at all convincing. Despite the disappointment, I'm grateful that we have the opportunity to eat out – that's not something to be taken for granted. But when visiting a restaurant, you naturally hope for more freshness and attention.

We ordered here for the first time because we were visiting Wildbad. Delivery time was 80 minutes; we were told on the phone that it would take 40 minutes. Unfortunately, the pizza was only lukewarm (even though it was in the town where it had to be delivered). It tasted okay, but it wasn't worth €12, sorry. . Unfortunately, we didn't like the salad at all because they added balsamic vinegar to it. You should ask about that, not everyone likes it, but the actual salad dressing was, well, tasted of nothing. It's a shame, but I wouldn't order again to avoid being slapped on my face again at that price.
