What a find! Great food and service. We had schnitzel with fries, and a spaghetti bolognese which was so tasty. Along with a delicious appetiser from the self serve salad bar, a glass of wine and a beer, all for just over €40. Such good value. Best place we've eaten at since the start of our holiday. Food very bad! We were the only guests. I don't think it's appropriate on Theresen's note saying "there are a dozen of us all." All in all, we were out of the store after 40 minutes. Really not recommended

The "Untere Mühle" country inn may sound unassuming, but it's actually quite something when it comes to culinary delights and hospitality. Or should I say, roast beef behind the millstone? But more on that in a moment. I've often walked past the Untere Mühle without stopping. This time, we reserved a table for lunch for 11 people. The entrance to the country inn from the main road is easy to miss; a narrow path leads to the parking lot in front of the house. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you're greeted by a cozy Black Forest atmosphere. Past the small but fine schnapps bar with Scheibel's specialties, you enter the dining room, which exudes Black Forest charm in the style of a farmhouse parlor or mill. We received a very warm welcome from the owner, who has been running the inn for 18 years, as she told me, and were seated at the long table. The waitress quickly and friendly took our drink orders, which were tapped just as quickly in front of us and brought to our table. Time to look around the dining room. Everything is lovingly decorated: the chair backs are hand-carved, hop cones adorn the entire room, and a thick millstone impresses with its mass. The dining room exudes such an authentic, loving, and cozy atmosphere that you immediately feel at home. This made us all the more excited about the food. The menu offers a good selection of regional specialties at reasonable prices. I opted for the baked trout, while others opted for the roast beef. The wait until the dishes arrived was entertaining; the extremely friendly and attentive staff provided us with entertainment and refills. And then the food arrived. We are seasoned meat eaters. But when the roast beef with onions arrived, even our "sturdiest" had tears of joy in his eyes. The huge portion was beautifully presented, the fist-thick meat cooked to perfection, medium rare, and everything was wonderfully seasoned. My trout was also beautifully crispy on the outside, its meat soft and juicy on the inside, and the steaming potatoes were delicious. All 11 of us were completely happy and satisfied. The meal concluded with a surprisingly exciting ginger schnapps from the Scheibel distillery. In conclusion: At the "Untere Mühle" country inn, hospitality and service are paramount, and the dishes we were served were lovingly prepared for us. The prices are absolutely reasonable, and the ambiance is wonderful. Thank you, dear team at the Untere Mühle country inn, for this wonderful lunch. I will pass by here often, but from now on, I will stop by every time.

The restaurant is very good. The food is good no matter what I ordered. The service is kind and fast. The atmosphere of the place is very good. I dine here when I can. I recommend it to everyone.

On the way home we spontaneously stopped in for dinner and definitely wasn't disappointed. Food very tasty, good portions and courteous service. The innkeepers probably have to slow down a bit, hence the sign on the door, just ask! We were lucky even without registering 😎!!! Gladly again!

Had a reservation for 10/19/24. Yesterday I wanted to confirm the number of people again. Tonight the notification came that the restaurant was permanently closed. There is no information about this on the homepage. I'm also surprised that there are still current reviews from last week.

Very nice place with comfortable apartments, fantastic view, good homemade shnaps and relaxing countryside atmosphere. Thanks a lot to all hosting family, would like to turn back next time with great pleasure.
