Excellent steak quality and very special cuts. We were in Alpirsbach over the weekend and were looking for a steak for dinner. Zwickel & Kaps belongs to the Alpirsbach Brewery and at first glance seems a bit quirky. One corner is decorated with bulls and American license plates, another corner with Borussia Dortmund, and another corner still has a traditional Black Forest feel. If you look at the steak menu, you'll be surprised by some cuts that are relatively unknown in Germany. But for us, that was exactly what made it so great, because we all really love steaks. We ordered four steaks, and they all arrived on preheated plates to the desired degree of doneness. The meat tasted excellent, and the side dishes like fries, potatoes, chili fries, and salad were the perfect complement. The steaks were worth the money! Treat yourself!

The food was excellent; our children had schnitzel with fries, my wife had roast beef with onions, and I had the rump steak. The ambiance is very nice, and the staff and chef were very friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. We and the children felt very comfortable and haven't had such a good meal in a long time. 10 out of 10 stars 🌟

The restaurant is truly impressive. Despite its rustic decor, everything is very cozy. There's an old tiled stove in the small side room. I'm not sure if it still works, but it certainly completes the decor. There are also seats in front of the restaurant, but they're right on the street. I'm not sure if you'd enjoy the schnitzel there with the cars driving by. The prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent and friendly. But all in all, everything was fine. Payment is accepted with cash or debit card.

Beautifully decorated steakhouse with an outdoor area. The steak was very good, and the fries were also good. Service is friendly and attentive. There are a few parking spaces next to the restaurant. Prices are on the higher side.

Lunch during a bike tour. I wanted traditional cuisine, and I got it. The oriental dishes on the menu were surprising. They were of excellent quality. My schnitzel reminded me of my vacation in Vienna. The staff always brought beer quickly. My wife was happy, and I was happy. Thank you.

Had a reservation for 10/19/24. Yesterday I wanted to confirm the number of people again. Tonight the notification came that the restaurant was permanently closed. There is no information about this on the homepage. I'm also surprised that there are still current reviews from last week.

Rustic interior, cards feel a bit worn, food selection good. Unfortunately, the meat specialties Nebraska "dry age" were a bit mixed (considering the price per 100g, a shame), little taste of their own, well fried. Roast beef well fried, taste ok. Service very attentive.

The food was A1!!!!!! Unfortunately, despite asking, we were NOT cashed in by our waitress, who gave us such great advice. (Black Hairy). Apparently that wasn't possible, said a blonde who had never been at our table before. It was very disappointing, I regret that I tipped the blonde waitress.

So we went to visit Mummelsee with our two grandchildren during the school holidays, after which we wanted to eat something and came to this restaurant, everything was very good, when we got home we noticed that our granddaughter had forgotten her jacket, we live in Kaiserstuhl so not exactly around the corner, we called straight away and they promised to send the jacket by post, which was really the case, thank you very much for that, that's not a given, our granddaughter was happy and so were we .But what was also very surprising was that we even had a voucher in the package, which we will definitely use the next time we are in the area. Thank you very much again for that, that is not a given 5 stars from us.😃👍👍👍👍

Delicious food after a visit to the monastery and the brewery. We all had schnitzel and it was deliciously tender and crispy. The salad we got was particularly tasty. You can also take a seat at the back, which is a bit quieter than at the road.

Fillet steak was not a steak but fillet spice.

It's nice that there are still many restaurants that are worth visiting. This is also the case at Zwickel & Kaps, good food, cozy atmosphere, friendly service and normal prices, what more could you want!

Rustic atmosphere, inexpensive lunch

The visit was perfectly combined with a brewery tour and the food was very good. The staff is really good and responds to every special request. Food was still brought to 17 people quickly and was really tasty.

We arrived on Saturday at 7 p.m. At around 7:50 p.m. the waiter brought us drinks and asked us what we would like for dinner. Then we waited a while for the food. We ordered Jägerschnitzel with cream sauce twice. They didn't have any mushrooms, so we ordered schnitzel in paprika sauce. In the end we got schnitzel with tomato sauce and the waitress apologized that there was a misunderstanding. Everything is fine with drinks. Shortly before paying we wanted to pack up the leftovers. Unfortunately, the waitress misunderstood us and threw away the leftovers :(. The staff apologized to us again and said that they had new waitresses and that they had to learn them first... Well, we understand that. When we paid, it was The staff apologized to us again and we were given a bottle of wine as an apology. The food was very tasty, despite the misunderstanding, I can't say anything more about it. We are just people and everyone can have a bad day. On Saturday at 5 p.m. we visited the restaurant again after a long time. We are thrilled with how delicious the food tasted, the service was very friendly and attentive.

It's a shame, Friday evening, 8.30 p.m., on the door there is a sign "Kitchen until 10 p.m." and then the information "only tarte flambée". Sorry, if the card already has exclusive prices, it would be nice if the rest of it lived up to this requirement

We were in Zwickel & Kaps with a group of 9 and were well served. The wait for the dishes was relatively long, but when the food came we realized why. It was very impressive what was presented. After the initial disappointment that I couldn't eat the burger with both hands, I was surprised by the artistic design. In terms of taste, all I can say is: absolutely first class (Galloway Burger with double patty)! My fellow guests had, among other things, cheese spaetzle, veggieburger and terres major (350gr). They were also excited. We can't financially afford a regular visit, but we'd love to come back for special occasions!

There were 3 people - arrived around 6:45 p.m. - got food at 7:30 p.m. - it was great - wanted dessert at 8:30 p.m. - got an answer - the kitchen is already closed - and we close at 9 p.m.! With an amount of over 200 euros, it's a shame - one could have said this earlier!

Wir waren 3 Personen … Reingegangen kein hallo kein gar nix. Auf die Frage ob ein Bier gewünschter Art angeboten wird wurde nach der Frage der Gast gepflegt ignoriert !! Im gesamten Verlauf des Abends (jeder 1. Bier) wurden wir komplett ignoriert Das weibliche Personal hat lieber ihre Pizza verfuttert als alles andere. Beim zahlen mussten wir drei mehrfach nach der Rechnung bitten. Absolut unterirdisch! Das war mit Abstand der letzte Laden in Alpirsbach!! NIE WIEDER!!!!

Eine sehr angenehme und freundliche Atmosphäre. Das Essen war vorzüglich, herrlich einfach ohne viel schnick schnack und lecker angerichtet. Ein schönes saftiges Stück Fleisch und eine gute Potion Fries ... ich komme unter Garantie wieder und kann es jedem der Fleisch mag nur empfehlen. Waren mal wieder hier und ich muss sagen bin nach wie vor begeistert.

Essen war gut, aber der Service ist unterirdisch. Zwei unmotivierte Bedienungen. Es waren drei Tische besetzt und trotzdem dauerte es 10 Minuten bis man überhaupt die Speisekarte bekam. Besteck wurde vergessen und das Essen wurde beim Servieren einfach plump auf den Tisch geknallt. Es waren Lichter auf den ungeputzten Tischen, jedoch wurde keines angezündet, da nur ausgebrannte Teelichter drin standen. Hundeschüsseln auf dem Boden (Gäste von vorhin?), Sitzbänke verkrümelt, Sitzpolster lagen einfach schmutzig in der Ecke, Speisekarten mit Fettfingern außen und zerdepperten Kartenhüllen innnen. Ein Gast am Tresen mit Hund auf dem Sitz... Das Fleisch war gut aber die beilagen nur aufgewärmt, im Grunde feht hier wohl der Durchsatz. Wenn der Service so bleibt ist auch die Zukunft dieser Gaststätte vorgezeichnet. War oft zu MiSI-Zeiten dort, damals war es ein absoluter Geheimtip aber heute nichts mehr außer zu teuer für die unmotivierte Show - wirklich schade, denn das war mal super!.

Von außen sieht der Laden eher schlicht und wenig einladent aus. Ich empfehle: Rein gehen! Es wirkt wie eine ganz andere Welt! Zudem ist das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Noch viel wichtiger: Das Essen war viel und lecker (Pulled Pork Burger & Pulled Chicken Burger). Eine Beilage zum Burger war bereits zu viel. Zudem gibt es hier das leckere Alpirsbacher Bier frisch vom Fass! Prost & Guten Appetit :)

Food and staff were amazing! Price not too bad either, you pay for what you get. The staff were lovely as we only spoke English they tried very hard to help us and serve us. Our eyes were too big and ate a bit too much but it was nice nevertheless.

Gran lugar para ir a comer hamburguesas. Son deliciosas pero pagas el precio. Además la forma de presentación de estas es espectacular. Para comunicarse en español o en inglés es un poco complicado. La cerveza que sirven es 100% de la región de Alemania y está muy buena, se aconseja tomar la cerveza negra que tiene mucho cuerpo y está deliciosa. Las raciones de comida son generosas y muy abundantes no te defraudará.

Moderate Wartezeiten, perfekter Bison- und Galloway Burger in einem sehr schönen Ambiente. Beilagen bei den Portionen nicht nötig. Bedienungen sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das alles hat seinen (stolzen) Preis, beim exquisiten Fleisch nachvollziehbar, beim örtlichen Bier eher nicht.

Der Preis und das Ambiente versprechen Qualitätsessen. Leider wurden wir jedoch maßlos enttäuscht. Hatten den Wayguburger für 36 Euro pro Portion. Das Fleisch war in der Mitte noch fast tiefgefroren. Die Teller gingen wieder in die Küche. Als die gleichen angegessenen Bruger zurückkamen, war das Fleisch totgebraten. Die Burger waren einfach nur eklig. Ein kleiner Trost- ein Burger wurde uns erlassen. Das Restaurant werden wir nicht mehr besuchen. PREIS / Leistung in keinem Verhältnis.

Einfach ekelhaft. Ich habe den Wagyu Burger für 40-€ gegessen. Total kaltes Fleisch im Inneren Nicht zu empfehlen. Reine Geldverschwendung.

Wir waren zu viert zum Abendessen da. Lokal ist gemütlich eingerichtet, man fühlt sich wohl. Wir hatten 4 verschiedene Steaks, mit Beilage und Krautsalat bestellt. Wir wollten als Vorspeise eine kleine Zusammenstellung der Vorspeisen haben und uns zu viert teilen. Leider war der Teller riesig, viel zu viel, selbst eine Currywurst und Chickenwings waren enthalten - das macht so natürlich keinen Sinn. Trotzdem haben wir alles versucht - es schmeckte alles sehr lecker. Der Hauptgang entsprach unseren Erwartungen, sehr gute Fleischqualität, Garpunkt perfekt getroffen - Beilagen viel zu viel. In Summe also ein qualitativ gelungener Abend - bis auf die üppige Vorspeise - die fast schon „plump“ wirkte. Service wirkte bemüht - leider aber über weite Strecken überfordert. Bezahlt haben wir knapp 300€, allein für die Vorspeise wurden 52€ fällig! Aus unserer Sicht deutlich zu viel und völlig überzogen. Wenn ich 70€ pro Person ausgeben will gehe ich in ganz andere Lokale - da stimmt dann alles zu 100% und die Kommunikation zwischen Service und Küche funktioniert. Echt schade - da wir gerne gutes Essen genießen - aber 52€ für eine Vorspeise - das geht einfach nicht!

Wir waren vor 2 Tagen in diesem Restaurant und sind via Tripadvisor darauf aufmerksam geworden. Wir hatten eine Super freundliche Restaurant Leitung und einen netten jungen Mann der relativ neu als Aushilfe da angefangen hat. Lief alles bestens. Unserem Hund wurde unaufgefordert einen Wassernapf serviert (Porthouse Knochen wäre ihr wohl lieber gewesen :-) :-) :-)) Unser Fleisch war ausgezeichnet und perfekt (wie bestellt) gebraten. Die Beilagen wie auch die Soßen waren richtig lecker. Etwas Wartezeit muss man mitbringen. Wir kommen sicherlich wieder, wenn wir mal wieder in der Nähe sind. Danke für das schöne Erlebnins.
