Beautiful event location, with delicious food! The staff is the friendliest, most attentive and fastest staff I have ever experienced in Germany!! We recommend.

We ordered the prawns, which were super tasty and really good value for money. The ambience is also very nice, both indoor and outdoor. One or two waiters could have been a little nicer, but that didn't ruin our evening.

We were on a bike ride and only drank cappuccino and coke. But it was very nice in the beer garden.

Nice beer garden, nice interior…. but nothing more. We spontaneously ate there during a bike tour. A friendly attentive blonde waitress served us and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks, even though it was very busy that day. I ordered a salad with strips of rump steak in a tortilla with sour cream and avocado cream. Even after trying it three times, the latter tasted foul and inedible. When another waitress asked if the food was OK - I politely pointed out that the guacamole was spoiled. She then called in another waiter (muscular, dark-haired) who wanted to tell me that this couldn't be the case. He even brought me the tub (so it was ready-made avocado cream) to prove that it was still shelf-stable and said that it had also been well refrigerated. I then kindly told him that it tasted rotten and that it wasn't that bad, because it can always happen - especially with avocado! The unfriendly waiter then said (without ever having tried the avocado cream!) that I might have bad taste today and that they often sell this cream and no one had ever complained. Then he just left. How rude and unprofessional can you be? For me, this man has completely failed in his job. I'm sorry, but someone like that will eventually bankrupt the store. This is not how you treat guests who remain friendly and understanding despite bad food! A pity!

Schöner Biergarten, schöner Innenbereich…. mehr aber auch nicht. Wir waren spontan während einer Radtour dort essen. Eine freundliche aufmerksame blonde Kellnerin bediente uns und wir mussten nicht lange auf unsere Getränke warten, obwohl es an dem Tag sehr voll war. Ich bestellte einen Salat mit Rumpsteakstreifen in einer Tortilla mit Sauerrahm und Avocadocreme. Letztere schmeckte auch nach dreimaligem Probieren faulig und ungenießbar. Als eine andere Kellnerin fragte ob das Essen in Ordnung war - wies ich freundlich darauf hin, dass die Guacamole verdorben sei. Sie holte daraufhin einen anderen Kellner (muskulös, dunkelhaarig), der mir weiß machen wollte, dass dies nicht sein kann. Er brachte mir sogar den Becher (demnach war es fertige Avocadocreme), um zu beweisen, dass diese noch haltbar ist und sagte, dass diese auch gut gekühlt worden war. Ich habe ihm daraufhin freundlich gesagt, dass es aber nunmal faulig geschmeckt hat und aber dass es nicht so schlimm sei, denn es kann ja immer mal passieren - gerade bei Avocado! Daraufhin meinte der unfreundliche Kellner (ohne die Avocado-Creme je probiert zu haben!), dass ich heute vielleicht einen schlechten Geschmack hätte und dass die diese Creme häufig verkaufen würden und es sich noch nie jemand beschwert hätte. Dann ist er einfach gegegangen. Wie unfreundlich und unprofessionell kann man bitte sein? Für mich hat dieser Mann völlig seinen Job verfehlt. Tut mir leid, aber so jemand wirtschaftet den Laden irgendwann in den Ruin. Man geht mit Gästen die trotz schlechtem Essen freundlich und verständnisvoll bleiben nicht so um! Schade!

We got married on Saturday in the large room of the “Barn” with 80 people. Great location, the service was really phenomenal. Never experienced such good guest service. In the end you knew everyone's name on the team. When the shift changed, everyone said goodbye. We celebrated until 5am. Marko and his team were there until the bitter end. The next day we picked up all the decorations. Everything is neatly packed away and you greet each other with a handshake. Simply as if you were part of the family. Even the cook at the grill noticed that we were celebrating the beef rump and gave us a plate of freshly carved pieces of rump when we invited us over. I could write a lot more. We got married here last year in the large hall, it was fantastic. The location has very modern and extensive technology for light and sound. The ambience is a lovely mix of elegant and rustic, perfect for my husband and I. Very nice and hard-working staff, very attentive and individual. As a creative bride, I was very happy that I was able to let off steam with the decorations I made myself. The boss Meri is a very friendly, courteous and open person, she made a lot possible. It was a wonderful day that will remain in my memories for a long time. We want to hold our next big celebration here too. The food was extensive and good and our guests really liked it. Thank you for letting us experience that.

We have been to this beautiful restaurant several times and have always felt very comfortable. Sometimes as a wedding guest, sometimes just for dinner and finally we celebrated our wedding there ourselves! The staff is always very courteous and warm, the food tastes fantastic and the location is simply perfect for celebrating! We would do it again and again!

We celebrated our big wedding at 12 Apostles Essen last year and it was outstanding from start to finish. The boss and her husband were always very courteous and answered our many questions professionally and friendly. I would particularly like to highlight the staff, who did a great job. Both in the preparation of the celebration and in entertaining the guests. The head of service always reminded me during the celebration to continue with the program. I found that very important because as a groom you tend to lose track of time at a big wedding :) The wedding was a complete success and the guests were also very enthusiastic about the beautiful location and the great food. My wife and I will remember this special day for a long time.

We were just in the beer garden. The drinks came quickly. Unfortunately the food order was forgotten to be passed on. So we had to wait longer. I personally found the price performance for a Caesar salad to be too high. Staff friendly but sometimes overwhelmed.

Food was mediocre, grilled vegetables, for example, were lukewarm to cold and not at all grilled but raw. Bruscetta were flabby and the rest was so-so. Service was rather unfriendly and annoyed and pushed us to order food when we were just sitting down, otherwise it could take a long time. So we quickly picked something out and ordered it. All the tables that came after us received food long before us. We waited 1.5 to 2 hours. At least everything came together, even though the menu cheekily stated that it might not be the case that everything was served together and that we apologized in advance. That wouldn't be professional, it would simply be amateurish. An extra chair was taken next to us at the table and the waiter complained to the guests that everything was reserved. At least 1/3 of the chairs were unoccupied the entire evening. Overall unfortunately disappointing - we won't be coming back.

The occasion was his 81st birthday. We wanted to eat at 6:00 p.m. but were asked to order immediately at 5:00 a.m. Because afterwards it would be so full that we would have to wait 1.5 hours. We had reserved for this event. Unfortunately, the waiter in charge that day was more than unfriendly and direct. We're not used to that here. We usually really enjoy going and love the food and wine. A pity. It dies and lives with the service.

Unfortunately, children are not welcome here; they were not allowed to play anywhere on the large area that actually invites them to do so. There is no playground or sandpit, so it is clear that small children will choose other ways to play. The best thing is when the lady at the service got upset with the other guests about the children playing, the other colleague even snatched the pillows out of the children's hands... we were definitely there for the last time. The food was actually good again!

In accordance with Mother's Day, sufficient staff was available so that orders were taken and carried out quickly. Service quick and unobtrusive. My Tagliatelle Salmone (€17.50, generous portion with lots of salmon pieces) and my wife's "Grandma's Aspic" (€13.20) were top notch.

Evening event, lots of people present, so I can't say anything about the service. The steak was okay, the fried potatoes were tasty but the portion was very small.

We wanted to eat at 12 Apostle again after a long time. The weather was nice and we found a spot outside. The location is very nicely located, directly on the Ruhr. The attentive waiter was with us quickly and took our orders. As a starter we had a starter plate for 2 people. Overall it was very boring. A few slices of tomato with mozzarella and lots of fried mushrooms. Somehow I lacked love for the product. There are so many different high-quality products. Why can't you add a little variation to it? The quality was also rather mediocre. A pity.. The main course was a little better. I had a pizza which was good. My girlfriend a grill plate. This one was probably mediocre again. Some of the meat was very dry. Overall we would give the food a 6 out of 10. I just lack passion in the kitchen. Otherwise a nice evening. The waiter was really very friendly and made an effort. We'll still come back.

Unfortunately, the spear ribs were of third-class snack quality. Little seasoned, hardly any meat taste and a bad barbecue sauce smeared on it. To make matters worse, the spear ribs were littered with very small bones in the meat that stuck in your mouth like bones. Never had such strange ribs before! The coleslaw, which is served undecoratively and not even half full (approx. 3 forks) in a miniature glass bowl the size of a pill bottle, fits in with the rest of the bland meal. The ambience of the restaurant is very nice and has a large beer garden in the countryside on the Ruhr. Some waiters are very nice and courteous, but some others are rude and impolite, like the waiter who on May 9, 2024 rudely complimented us away from a long table where we were sitting with three people and loudly asked us to move to a smaller table To be set locally so that all guests in the restaurant notice it. For me, one of the most beautiful restaurants in the area, especially in spring or summer, as you can then go for a walk along the Ruhr. They also have by far the best pizzas there, which are huge and have an unbeatable price. Actually, I shouldn't advertise at all because the store will end up being overrun 😃

Last week we celebrated my daughter's wedding at 12 Apostles. A wonderful celebration. The service staff was attentive and very friendly...it couldn't have been better...the food was fantastic. Particularly noteworthy is the presentation of the food at the buffet (dessert was served on a huge glass plate). Everything contributed to an unforgettable wedding.

We had the kilo of prawns... delicious. Was in a tomato sauce. Good wine with it and nice service. Great evening. We will be back

We had pre-booked here for our daughter's wedding, but unfortunately they canceled everything 16 months beforehand! Unfortunately we didn't get the €1,000 deposit back! It's bad enough that the relationship has broken down, but in 16 months you can easily sell the location again! This is really a rip off! Outrageous!

Was there today with my girlfriend. The pizzas were great as always, as was the ambience. I only have two criticisms. 1.) After our order, despite the empty glass and a clearly visible place in the aisle, no waiter came to us, and that was for 30! minutes. When one came I was already served and we wanted to pay. We told the young man this and he referred to a colleague who didn't come... After we spoke to someone again ourselves, we were able to pay. 2.) PLEASE sharpen your knives or give out scissors like other restaurants! Your pizzas are great but by the time you cut them they are ice cold and you get cramps in your fingers and hands. I've been there several times over the last few years and the problem with the knives persists every time.

Nice location and good food. Therefore a little more expensive. What is not possible in this price range is the shabby parking lot with huge potholes. When it rains everything is muddy and you have to be careful not to step in the numerous deep puddles.

Very nice atmosphere, menu well filled with great ideas and suggestions. I ordered pasta with salmon. The plate was very nicely presented and visually it looked really good. But unfortunately it didn't convince me. There was simply a lack of taste, a lot of cream and little spice. Waiters seemed annoyed and stressed. Nevertheless, they remained calm and professional. The restaurant seems to be very popular and busy. Even a waiter can be in a bad mood sometimes. It was ok for me. But I might have to try something different next time. Prices were ok.

I was warned in advance by my friends. But since I'm someone who likes to make up my own mind, I had dinner there with my girlfriend. I reserved a table by phone. Preferably somewhere a little quieter. When we entered the restaurant we were asked, table for two? I said that I reserved a quiet table in my name. The waiter didn't seem to care. He frantically showed us a table. We weren't even properly seated when we were asked what we would like to drink. A little surprised, we made it clear that we wanted to look at the map first. What felt like two minutes later the waiter came and asked what we would like to eat. The fact that you want to choose your food in peace seems unknown here. There is a hectic atmosphere right from the start. In the further course, I will abbreviate it, very unfriendly service! The atmosphere in the station halls, given the volume, urged us to pay and leave the restaurant immediately after our meal. However, this wasn't that easy. The tables and chairs are placed so close together that we had to ask the people at the next table to stand up completely, step into the front aisle and push the chairs towards the table. You really have no other chance to leave the restaurant normally. Finally I can say: Never again! In this case, I should have listened to my friends, who also no longer come to this restaurant.

We celebrated our wedding at 12 Apostles, you could say it was a dream wedding. We felt really comfortable and were then praised by our guests about the great location we had booked. There is only one vegan dish on the entire menu; The 'vegan risotto' has nothing in common with risotto as it is made with potatoes or basmati rice and is therefore not worth it.

Grill plate not a hit. Everything was very dry, pork salmon, turkey dry. Flat frozen burger patty and a collection of thin pork roasts (?) heavily browned in the fat under half of the fine grilled sausage fried upright in the fat. I don't have to eat again. The tomato (cream) soup was without cream, but with glutamate. Unfortunately it was very, very full and therefore very, very loud, conversation was not possible. The young couple next to us skipped the romantic part and typed on their cell phone because they didn't understand each other. We waited 25 minutes for the bill. However, the food came quite quickly. In terms of price, based on today's price there was nothing to complain about (if the food was good) A pity.
