We had a baked potato with herb quark, ayoli, bread, and cucumber salad. The potato tasted good, but it was essentially just a large jacket potato and not what you'd call a baked potato. The baguette was from the day before, and other guests besides us noticed this. The cucumber salad was also from the day before. What a shame! Given the affordable location and the inviting ambiance, they could have made more of the food! The friendly service made up for it somewhat.

I've never experienced such a disaster!! We actually wanted to eat somewhere else, but unfortunately, the restaurant was empty. Then we happened upon "Zum Landsknecht." I've never eaten so badly.!!!!!!!!! We had a neck steak with potato wedges. The potato wedges were undercooked, and the neck steak was covered in an unidentifiable campion sauce. Drinks were overpriced. Better go somewhere else.

No recommendation Food from the freezer. Pork schnitzel is just processed meat, and when you complain, they say it's homemade. It's a rip-off, or rather, fraud.

I've never eaten such abysmal, bad "Champion-Rahmschnitzel." The "cream sauce" had a transparent consistency. Sticky and thick. The white lumps in the sauce clearly showed it came from a packet. And it was poorly stirred. Canned mushrooms were stuck in it. The breading on the schnitzel was significantly thicker than the schnitzel itself. The whole thing simply tasted of salt. After two bites, I put the cutlery aside and returned the food. The waitress ignored my criticism and simply said, in her Eastern European accent, that the meal was canceled. Then she was gone. I then asked a young man for the bill. I still had to pay for my drink. After repeatedly asking for the bill, I was about to put five euros on the table and leave. There she was again. The waitress. She placed the bill in front of me. €7.80 for a non-alcoholic wheat beer from the bottle. Once I recovered from my shock, I paid. Of course, without a tip. With a very fake friendliness, the lady wished me a nice day. Conclusion: Despite many very bad reviews, the management is not making any effort to improve the standard and quality of this establishment. They serve ready-made products instead of fresh produce. A second-rate snack bar can do better!!! I cannot recommend this establishment under any circumstances. It's a shame about the meat and that an animal had to lose its life for such inferior food.

A group of eight people were looking for a restaurant and found the "Landsknecht." The beautiful ambiance beckoned us. Unfortunately, we didn't take the bad reviews seriously, which turned out to be false after our orders were delivered. The dishes were simply a disaster. There were no salads on the menu, and even when we asked, the service confirmed that they weren't available. The schnitzel and tarte flambée were clearly convenience foods; the neck steak was rock-hard and undercooked; the fries had been whizzed past the fryer and weren't even lightly browned. All the dishes were carelessly slapped onto the plate. A small garnish in the form of a lettuce leaf or tomato is considered superfluous at the Landsknecht. Given the prices on the menu, this was all a big "surprise." Unfortunately, you have to give a star rating; a zero or a minus is out of the question. We're giving it one star because the service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, they can't do anything about the miserable kitchen.

We entered the Landsknecht with great hunger and anticipation. The service was very friendly, and the view directly on the Moselle is, of course, unbeatable. The disappointment lay in the plate. It was called a "Landsknecht Plate" and was supposed to be a cordon bleu with creamy mushroom sauce and fries. It was a palm-sized, deep-fried dish with potato wedges. Carelessly slapped onto the plate on a bit of sauce with a few pieces of mushrooms in it. Simply sobering and disgusting. The whole thing cost €22.95 per person. The accompanying ready-made salad from the bulk container was another €6. We've never eaten so badly for a €75 bill. Never again. Landsknecht people - shame on yourselves!

Not recommended for eating. I had a schnitzel with a creamy sauce, the simplest pressed meat, the sauce was on the level of simple packet sauce, the fries were just barely cooked, nothing else was there. (Friends had the tarte flambée, which was apparently okay.) The Pinot Gris was the least delicious Moselle wine I've ever tasted. But alongside this great shadow, there was also light. The service was friendly and prompt, you really can't complain. The view of the Moselle from the terrace is really good.

We ate at this restaurant shortly before heading home. Luckily, this quality of food is upsetting and ruins a wonderful day. Inedible food at an expensive price. The drinks were also far too expensive. All frozen food from the hairdresser. Tomato sauce from a carton. Restaurant not recommended.

We've rarely eaten as badly as we did here. The schnitzel was the cheapest frozen version, schnitzel with fried onions (see photo), which was a real disgrace. The homemade remoulade was definitely from a tube, no question about mayo or ketchup. Truly abysmal. The service was okay, but definitely NEVER again, and it's very noisy, being located on the street.

We ate here tonight and everything was deep fried. Not really our cup of tea but all the restaurants seem to shut down at 21:00 in this town. Service was pretty schetchy as they all were in a hurry.

Where do you begin! The location is a dream. We weren't allowed to sit at the four-person table up on the terrace, or rather, we were asked to move to a two-person table in the middle. We weren't the only ones. In the 40 minutes we were there and had a drink, six four-person tables were free and remained free. During this time, three couples were turned away because there were no two-person tables available, only four, and they weren't allowed to sit there. Let's be honest? With six guests, you make more money than with zero, but the guest probably comes third. Turning guests away is a no-go unless it's absolutely packed and there's nothing left to do!

Walk around it in a big way! An imbiss is 3x better. €6.90 for an apple juice. Scandalous prices for scandalously bad food and service.

Don't be fooled by the price tags at the entrance! The terrace has a beautiful view, but the food is absolutely subpar and the prices are very high. €7.20 for a small white wine spritzer (0.2L) and €7.80 for a wheat beer (0.5L) are absolutely exorbitant for this place. I wouldn't recommend it.

Beautiful view of the Moselle. Friendly staff. But all the schnitzels there are made from pork loin. A regular small beer is way too expensive, just not acceptable! We left because of the food and the expensive beer!

Das Essen war gerade mal Mittelklassehotel, bzw. darunter. Tiefkühlprodukte, lieblos zubereitet. Das einzige positive war die freundliche Bedienung. Man sollte spätestens nach dem Erhalt der Speisekarte und einem Blick auf die Getränkepreise wieder aufstehen. Okay, es zwingt einen ja keiner sitzen zu bleiben. Es ist eine Touristenfalle, einmal und nie....... wieder.

The stars were given for the particularly friendly, very attentive and fast service in the restaurant. The beer was quite expensive, the food was probably frozen, but okay for the price. The location by the river is very good, especially if you sit on the terrace.

You can really only advise against this store. Prices are way too overpriced, pure rip off. The food was absolutely subpar and only frozen food. The service was also unfriendly. Not recommended at all.

Atmosphere good - drawback because it's right on the main street. Service left plates of starters even after the main course was served. We weren't asked if we wanted to drink something else, but we were asked how it tasted. The table was still slightly dirty from the guests in front of it. Great view of the other side of the Moselle. Food wouldn't be the reason to go there again now. The finishing touches and a touch of dedication were missing. When you look at the prices you realize that the location is also taken into account. It feels like the profit margin is being tortured because the food is very reminiscent of a commercial kitchen. The touch is missing.

Unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. We had calamari with remoulade, fries, coleslaw and schnitzel. The calamari was dry and had a strange texture - more like chicken than seafood. The fries seemed frozen, the coleslaw was tiny (despite €5), and the schnitzels also looked like they were thrown together quickly and had no taste. I forced myself to swallow the whole thing... The drinks prices were completely exorbitant: a small Aperol €9.90, an iced tea from a bottle €4.50, without lemon. In total we paid €74 - and to be honest: if I were someone who was unfair, I might have asked to pay a maximum of €10 for it. The only reason for the one star is our waiter Isaac – super friendly, attentive and professional. But unfortunately he works in the wrong restaurant. This was definitely the first and last visit for us.

Ordered coffee, apple strudel and aioli with bread. Not recommended at all. Coffee tasty but cold. Apple strudel was warmed up in the microwave and the puff pastry was completely soggy. The aioli came with bread that was extremely dry. As if it were from the day before. Gave the apple strudel and aioli back.

We had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant due to the behaviour of one of the staff. From the moment we arrived, she was unwelcoming and made no effort to accommodate us. She refused to host us properly, and her attitude was disrespectful and unprofessional. As a result, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere.

A Hefeweizen for a cheeky 7.90, food without any sauce, but buried under half a cup of fried onions from the supermarket. The restaurant is perfectly located with a great view of the Moselle. We didn't eat here because of the bad reviews, but we wanted to enjoy the view over an espresso. You can't even get simple hot drinks here, the espresso was lukewarm, the apple strudel that was ordered was like a piece of cardboard. Be sure to check the invoice! The prices charged do not necessarily correspond to the prices on the menu. Sad given the great location…

Das schlechteste Essen ever, Schnitzel kam 100% direkt aus der Tiefkühltruhe in die Fritteuse, schmeckte widerlich nach altem Fett, von den Magenproblemen danach ganz zu schweigen. Getränke total überteuert, 0,4 Radler für satte 7,80 , Personal naja, garantiert nie wieder.

What a tragedy this case, paying a fortune for a bite of bad food. The ministry is heading towards war.

Wir waren in Cochem und wollten etwas Essen. Die Lage und die Karte haben uns in das Restaurant gelockt, was uns da erwartete, war grauenhaft. Wir haben uns noch kurz über die leere Terrasse und die hohen Getränkepreise gewundert, aber das kann ja mal sein. Das Essen war wirklich unterirdisch! In jedem Krankenhaus ist das Essen besser. Das Essen kam wahrscheinlich aus der Tiefkühltruhe und war nach 5 Minuten fertig. Es war das schlechteste Schnitzel, das ich in meinem Leben gegessen habe.

The one star can only be given for the location, directly on the Moselle River, the rosé wine, and the appetizers. Otherwise, it was awful. The food was frozen and overpriced. Then the appetizer was forgotten, and it was pointed out several times, but nothing happened. So the service wasn't commendable either. I definitely can't recommend this restaurant.

Another restaurant in Cochem where I can't understand the bad reviews!!🤔🤔 The prices are way too high, but that also has to do with Cochem being a tourist hotspot!! The food on offer is delicious, though 😋 😋 and definitely recommended!! I've had worse on my travels!!

The service was very attentive. The 0.75-liter medium bottle of water cost us 10 euros. Unbelievable. The food was standard. But they offered a flat rate for mayo and ketchup. 😁 The coleslaw was ready-made stuff from a 10-kg bucket at Metro or something similar. Not recommended for the price of 5 euros. I seem to remember it saying something about homemade or something similar. That wasn't the case. I wouldn't recommend using the restroom. That day, it was as dirty as a backyard.

Today, my wife and I visited the Landsknecht, fully expecting to enjoy a good meal in a traditional restaurant in a beautiful location—with a view of the Moselle. We were treated to a magnificent view of the Moselle. Everything else was simply "below the belt"!!! We could have had tastier food at any fast food joint attached to a supermarket!!! Warning: This place—"Zum Landsknecht"—is, in my opinion, a breeding ground for rip-offs!!! Signs along the street advertise prices "from...€"—be careful—these are the prices for the children's meals!!! The prices for the "regular" meals are not comparable. The schnitzel was still edible, but the advertised fried onions were supermarket fare, and the fries were dry and tough! No side dishes! I should have saved myself the small bowl of watery cucumber slaw for €5.90—I could have easily gotten it in a kilo-sized bucket at the supermarket for a fraction of the price—and not so diluted with water. The soup as a starter was inedible, and there was no telling what it could have been. If you really want to try the Landsknecht, I have one piece of advice: Drink a glass of plain water for €5.90—that will make the owner RICH ENOUGH!!! Rip-off at its highest potential!!! Carsten Tews

Beware of ripping off tourists! The cards on the street offer attractive prices (prices from...). Drinks and side dishes are very expensive, but above all the quality of the food is simply very poor. I had an "Argentinian" sirloin steak, which unfortunately had tendons running through it and was slightly burnt. My friend had a tarte flambée, which unfortunately wasn't convincing at all. It was definitely our first and last visit!

We had booked a room for 4 days. The best part was the view. It started when checking in, you had to check in at an Italian restaurant 100m away. This was never communicated and was told to us in a rather annoyed manner at the entrance. The dishes and the coffee machine were dirty. The double bed consisted of 2 single beds pushed together and connected by a fitted sheet. Some sockets didn't work and the smoke detector was removed. There was no proper drain in the sink and the toilet already had splintered wood. The chip for the night door didn't work either. If two employees hadn't happened to come by after work, we would have had to stay outside. Conclusion: If you come alone for one night it is sufficient but not recommended for more.

Vorab, es gab sehr schlechtes Essen. Leider wirklich furchtbar. So viel Essen aus dem Supermarkt findet man sonst nur im Supermarkt selbst. Das Ketchup-und die Majonäseflaschen von Gut und Günstig wurden zu den Pommes serviert. Der Rucolasalat wurde kaum ausgeputzt und so wie war, aus der Packung auf den Teller geklatscht. Die Backkartoffen stammte aus der Vorjahressaison und ins Wasser geworfen. Sie waren gar. Aber das war’s dann auch schon am Positiven. Gut wie Lange an der Mosel nicht zu vergessen. Also wer gern fettig und geschmackloses Essen bevorzugt ist hier richtig aufgehoben. Die unverschämten Preise für so schlechtes Essen kann man wohl so schnell nicht überbieten .

You can visit this restaurant for Moselle wine and tarte flambée. Unfortunately, all other dishes definitely consisted of fried ready-made products, which were offered at far too high prices. We really regretted our visit here. Tip: The menu cards in front of the restaurant had cheaper prices than in the menu in the restaurant and according to the law this is allowed because the menu cards outside and in the restaurant are only suggestions and not binding prices.

We thought it would be a nice, cozy meal… we asked for medium steak. Got weird ones. Then sent back. Everything came back pitch black. Not really worth the money when you pay 25 euros for a steak.
