It's unbelievable that if you order half a liter of tap water for €6.50, you only get one glass. What unfriendly, unfriendly customer service.

The location, with its view of the Moselle, is nice. But the food is mass-produced and ready-made. Delicious is impossible. All I can say is: not again.

The food was good; we had tarte flambée and patatas ajo. The drinks, however, were very, very expensive. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and our seat on the terrace was comfortable thanks to the heating and the quaintly decorated roof.

Won't do it. Doorlopen. You never have to worry about the peace and quiet on the terraces. He's not really interested, he's interested in the person, and he's always there. Really veel te duur. A good quality. We order 2 cola. Glass was helped gevuld met ijs. The price was 12 euros for this. Well over the road, there are many better restaurants in Cochem! Just don't do it. Move on. Don't be seduced by the beautiful view from the terrace. It's not clean, the staff is uninterested, and it's way, way too expensive. Really way too expensive. And quality is lacking. We ordered two cokes. The glass was half filled with ice. They dare charge 12 euros for that. Just skip it – there are many better restaurants in Cochem!

If you like frozen food, this is the place for you, or if hunger is what drives you to eat it. What's served here is a disgrace; they can only afford it because new guests come every weekend and they don't rely on regulars. The staff, however, were friendly and accommodating.

Pre-cut schnitzel and ready-made tarte flambée from a carton. Service is sometimes overwhelmed with simple orders. I will avoid the KS Yesterday company and its restaurants, of which there are at least two in Cochem.

Incredibly bad restaurant. Frozen schnitzel and potato wedges. At €7.80, the 0.4 wheat beer is the height of audacity. I can only advise everyone against it. Don't be fooled by the location and the ambiance.

I was extremely disappointed with the schnitzel in mushroom cream sauce with fries. The schnitzel was a ready-made product. The mushroom cream sauce was indefinable, like paste. The fries weren't cooked all the way through. The price-performance ratio is completely out of proportion. A complete lack of gastronomic understanding is lacking here. This has nothing to do with cooking. I would be embarrassed to serve my guests such a meal.

Terrible!!! You'd think it was rustic here. Unfortunately, the food is abysmal. The schnitzels are made from pressed meat, herb butter isn't pure butter. There's probably cheap oil or margarine mixed in. The potato wedges had lots of brown spots, the fries were pale, and the wine had no name, and this is in a wine-growing region. The waiters were talking very loudly in their own language at the counter. The original owner would turn in his grave if he deserted this place. This has nothing to do with a pub. What a shame.

Absolutely disappointing! I really can't recommend the Zum Landsknecht restaurant in Cochem. The schnitzel was cheap, tasteless, and poorly cooked. The peppercorn and hunter's sauce were a disgrace—inedible and artificial. The mushrooms were obviously canned, completely watery and carelessly slapped onto the plate. To then charge €74 for this ready-made rubbish is an absolute disgrace. Neither the quality nor the standards are up to scratch here—once again, never again!

This restaurant used to be very good, but now under new management, it's unfortunately a flop. You get caught off guard by the beautiful location, but the restaurant and the food are simply abysmally bad! Any chip shop will have better food, and the prices are completely unjustified! A warm Aldi pan. You can get one for €5 on the other hand. Here, a microwave oven costs €40.

I wish I'd read the reviews before our visit! This is, by far, the worst restaurant we've ever visited! One star is way too many!!! The location, overlooking the Moselle, is quite beautiful!! But that's about it! The drinks were completely overpriced: a 0.4l beer for €7.80, a carafe of water for €9.90! The schnitzel prices were considerably more expensive than advertised on the street! And then came the food: frozen schnitzel, deep-fried, as were the frozen potato wedges. Many snack bars can do better, and above all, more affordably. The Landsknecht schnitzel was a small (frozen) cordon bleu on ready-made mushroom sauce with potato wedges for €22.80. The premises, including the restrooms, are run down and desperately need a complete renovation!! Overall, definitely not a recommendation!!!

The salmon flammkuchen was delicious, but everything else was terrible. It was expensive, the staff was completely disinterested, and there were tons of spiders. It took a lot of effort to get the staff's attention, if they were even in sight.

The prices at the door don't match those on the menu; you have to choose between small, medium, and large. Drinks were also on the expensive side, €7.80 for 0.4L, but that's probably normal prices there. The food itself is simple, so don't expect too much. The location is nice, though. The service was good at first, until I commented or asked if it was good. I'd asked for warm apple pie with bourbon ice cream. The apple pie had been microwaved for far too long because it was tough, but I didn't say anything about that. The bourbon ice cream was just vanilla ice cream, and apparently, I wasn't allowed to say that, because we only received the bill. And all this for €105, which was also the last time!

Definitely not, never again. Eating frozen food, disgusting cola, onion schnitzel was a disgrace. They said it was fresh fried onions... I got dried fried onions from a can... I've never had such bad food... If I'm in the area again, I'd rather eat at MCs or BK 🙄😂

The guests at the neighboring tables shared their displeasure with the food. So we decided not to order anything there. There are many better restaurants in Cochem where the price-performance ratio is OK.

WARNING! DO NOT EAT HERE! The food was a disaster: the knuckle of pork was burnt on one side and practically raw on the other. The fries and schnitzel were soggy, and we waited almost an hour for them. I confronted the waiter, but he showed no understanding and offered no leniency. It wasn't very clean either; the cutlery wasn't there, and there weren't any tables or chairs, at least not on the terrace. We were there for schnitzel, the food was all frozen, we have never eaten so bad, the lady dropped fries from her plate onto the till and put them back on the plate with her fingers and gave them out, ready salad from the bucket for 5.90 euros for a small salad for 3 people, over 100 euros wouldn't be an issue if the food was good, we will never go there again, better to go somewhere else where people make an effort to offer the guest a culinary meal than such a rip-off place, if we could give fewer stars we would have given 0 stars, better to avoid it

Wish I had read the reviews before coming here. Unfortunately, all the negative feedback is accurate. The food is mediocre at best, but the prices are an absolute rip-off. Be prepared for a shock when the bill arrives — example: £6 for a simple glass of still tap water. Completely unreasonable. Save your money and go elsewhere.

We arrived in Cochem yesterday and, of course, went straight to the restaurant with the worst reviews for dinner 😒🙄 Schnitzel with Béarnaise sauce and fries. Our frozen schnitzel was flat, lukewarm, and the fries weren't cooked through. The sauce was from a packet. My friend's had a similar experience. Her chicken schnitzel was soggy. A frozen dream with canned charm Four hungry guests, three "schnitzels" – although the word here probably stands for "frozen food with ready-made sauce." I can only agree with the reviews here. The schnitzel is definitely frozen. We had Champion chicken schnitzel – from a can. Sauce was mixed in, maybe a Maggie mix? Nobody knows. The whole thing cost €23. We passed it on. The waitress said she'd give it to the chef. They definitely won't do that, otherwise something would have changed after all the reviews.

The schnitzel was 100% reheated. It wasn't crispy at all and had less flavor than any frozen schnitzel. I regret eating half of it.

We were satisfied with the food and the service. I'm shocked to see the bad reviews here! I had calamari with garlic dip and coleslaw, and my husband had the lumberjack steak with potato wedges. We both enjoyed it. Of course, I immediately realized it must have been frozen, but the price was reasonable.

Unfortunately, it was a very bad experience all around. The fries were practically raw, the schnitzel was very stringy, and it was frozen pressed meat. The waiter unfortunately piled several plates on top of each other while carrying the full plates, which is why there were about five slices of mushrooms underneath my plate, which was where my plate was sitting. When I paid by card, they rounded up €10, and the card reader was deliberately held in a way that made the amount invisible. All in all, a very bad experience and far too expensive due to the fraud. The restaurant apparently survives solely on unsuspecting tourists.

We had two sumptuous starters, two schnitzel main courses (1 regular / 1 large), 0.5 liters of delicious Moselle wine, and 0.75 liters of water, and paid €93 (including tip). We think this price is absolutely reasonable for the location and the always friendly and fast service! Of course, the schnitzels aren't hand-made by the butcher, but you can't expect that! So: Absolutely solid food at a reasonable price! Some reviewers should probably think about their pricing for both the food and, above all, the staff in 2025!

Not a hint of egg yolk, tarragon, or buttery love. Instead, a warmed-up convenience mush with the texture of wallpaper paste and the taste of industrial indifference. The schnitzel itself? Thin, dry, barely seasoned, almost an insult to the poor calf. Bruschetta - The Sad Death of a Bread The appetizer, a supposedly Italian greeting: bruschetta. I was expecting crusty bread, fresh tomatoes, a touch of garlic, and basil. What was served was a spongy lump of bread that seemed to have drowned in a tomato bath. Culinary past is a must. Here, however, it has been oversalted, overcooked, and sold off cheaply.

The friendly, smiling young people here attract visitors, and the atmosphere conveys tradition and care. Instead, you get dishes and service that make one star seem too high for two. There were four of us adults and a 1.5-year-old toddler, for whom we asked for a small glass of water. They charged us €4.40 for the water, for three simple dishes, an appetizer, two small bowls of cucumber salad, and three drinks, another €123! The worst restaurant experience of my life. Beware of this rip-off! Writing these lines makes me sick.

The price-performance ratio isn't right. The prices in the "window" downstairs don't match the actual prices in the restaurant. Sometimes they're 30% higher than the street sign. You feel like you've been ripped off. The food looked very much like convenience food and tasted accordingly. The fries and steak weren't salted. Unfortunately, the herb butter had almost no herbs. Only a few chives were sprinkled into the butter (the seasoning was probably forgotten here, too).

An inn that's been around since 1893 and today delivers such terrible quality. A true disgrace for this venerable establishment. My tip: Adapt the dishes to the quaintly decorated location. I ordered just one tiramisu, and tired to cancel the order after realizing they don’t take card. They wouldn’t let me, my waitress started yelling at me and I ran away. Actually got up and ran. Scared they are following me, they have a waiter keeping watch outside the front. I’m still scared

Please don't do this to yourself! We were having to hunt around for an eatery that would accommodate allergies, so unfortunately we walked past many, many better restaurants. This was a frozen schnitzel, unapologetically frozen chips, a mushroom sauce that was thickened within an inch of its life with lumpy cornflower. I can't quite put into words how bad the food is. Unfortunately,I was hungry, so really, really needed to eat something. forced down some of the schnitzel and the... we'll refer to it as "gloop" We were in a group of 6 and only those who had the baked potato had a fully edible meal. We were tourists, so paid tourist prices, but the cost versus quality of food was utterly ridiculous! Please don't! Please.

We don't understand the bad reviews. The tarte flambée is incredibly delicious, and we'd like to highlight Faiz's hospitality. He's incredibly friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely stop by again when we're in the area.

We had a baked potato with herb quark, ayoli, bread, and cucumber salad. The potato tasted good, but it was essentially just a large jacket potato and not what you'd call a baked potato. The baguette was from the day before, and other guests besides us noticed this. The cucumber salad was also from the day before. What a shame! Given the affordable location and the inviting ambiance, they could have made more of the food! The friendly service made up for it somewhat.

I've never eaten so badly.!!!!!!!!! We had a neck steak with potato wedges. The potato wedges were undercooked, and the neck steak was covered in an unidentifiable campion sauce. I've never eaten such abysmal, bad "Champion-Rahmschnitzel." The "cream sauce" had a transparent consistency. Sticky and thick. The white lumps in the sauce clearly showed it came from a packet. And it was poorly stirred. Canned mushrooms were stuck in it. The breading on the schnitzel was significantly thicker than the schnitzel itself. The whole thing simply tasted of salt. After two bites, I put the cutlery aside and returned the food. The waitress ignored my criticism and simply said, in her Eastern European accent, that the meal was canceled. Then she was gone. I then asked a young man for the bill. I still had to pay for my drink. After repeatedly asking for the bill, I was about to put five euros on the table and leave. There she was again. The waitress. She placed the bill in front of me. €7.80 for a non-alcoholic wheat beer from the bottle. Once I recovered from my shock, I paid. Of course, without a tip. With a very fake friendliness, the lady wished me a nice day. Conclusion: Despite many very bad reviews, the management is not making any effort to improve the standard and quality of this establishment. They serve ready-made products instead of fresh produce. A group of eight people were looking for a restaurant and found the "Landsknecht." The beautiful ambiance beckoned us. Unfortunately, we didn't take the bad reviews seriously, which turned out to be false after our orders were delivered. The dishes were simply a disaster. There were no salads on the menu, and even when we asked, the service confirmed that they weren't available. The schnitzel and tarte flambée were clearly convenience foods; the neck steak was rock-hard and undercooked; the fries had been whizzed past the fryer and weren't even lightly browned. All the dishes were carelessly slapped onto the plate. A small garnish in the form of a lettuce leaf or tomato is considered superfluous at the Landsknecht. Given the prices on the menu, this was all a big "surprise." Unfortunately, you have to give a star rating; a zero or a minus is out of the question. We're giving it one star because the service was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, they can't do anything about the miserable kitchen.

We entered the Landsknecht with great hunger and anticipation. The service was very friendly, and the view directly on the Moselle is, of course, unbeatable. The disappointment lay in the plate. It was called a "Landsknecht Plate" and was supposed to be a cordon bleu with creamy mushroom sauce and fries. It was a palm-sized, deep-fried dish with potato wedges. Carelessly slapped onto the plate on a bit of sauce with a few pieces of mushrooms in it. Simply sobering and disgusting. The whole thing cost €22.95 per person. The accompanying ready-made salad from the bulk container was another €6. We've never eaten so badly for a €75 bill. Never again. Landsknecht people - shame on yourselves!

Not recommended for eating. I had a schnitzel with a creamy sauce, the simplest pressed meat, the sauce was on the level of simple packet sauce, the fries were just barely cooked, nothing else was there. (Friends had the tarte flambée, which was apparently okay.) The Pinot Gris was the least delicious Moselle wine I've ever tasted. But alongside this great shadow, there was also light. The service was friendly and prompt, you really can't complain. The view of the Moselle from the terrace is really good.

We ate at this restaurant shortly before heading home. Luckily, this quality of food is upsetting and ruins a wonderful day. Inedible food at an expensive price. The drinks were also far too expensive. All frozen food from the hairdresser. Tomato sauce from a carton. Restaurant not recommended.

We've rarely eaten as badly as we did here. The schnitzel was the cheapest frozen version, schnitzel with fried onions (see photo), which was a real disgrace. The homemade remoulade was definitely from a tube, no question about mayo or ketchup. Truly abysmal. The service was okay, but definitely NEVER again, and it's very noisy, being located on the street.
