Everything was great 👍 The food was very, very tasty.

The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. The waitresses and staff were super friendly, but the owner, on the other hand... Upon arrival, he made some comments but politely showed us to a seat. Just as we were finished eating, he immediately brought the bill and nearly chased us away. The final straw was his remark that we, as Dutch people, should just stay in our own country. We were just there for a nice lunch...

The food was fine, the service was okay, but the owner prefers Dutch people to leave. When you leave, he's met with the remark, "You should stay in the Netherlands," and he assumes you don't understand that, which isn't great. The waitresses were great.

Great food, friendly service, but the owner is a jerk who makes nasty remarks about Dutch people and just looks away from you as a Dutch person. The food was taken from the table, and he immediately started using the card reader. After a polite goodbye, he immediately told us to stay in the Netherlands! A very sad character.

We were there two weeks ago and waited over two hours for our food. The service was rude.

Please steer clear of this "restaurant". It's all a rip-off.

One star is already too much, it's catastrophic. Forced to sit in the entrance area in winter with the door open. Waited an hour for the tarte flambée, then the wrong ice cube arrived in my drink in winter… The menu is completely overloaded and confusing. Other guests also said it's the absolute worst place.

We were lured in by the ambiance, driven by hunger, and unfortunately didn't read the reviews. Definitely not recommended! The schnitzel with greasy fries and bone-dry fried onions was nothing more than fast-food fare and was presented horribly. At €18, it was quite expensive. But the price of our drinks was overshadowed – water and cola for €5.90 each – an absolute rip-off. The tarte flambée was okay, the service friendly, but the wait was long. Absolutely NOT recommended.

Snitzel and again snitzel..but all coming out from a friteuse with a paneer that is like a paper mache and old, used oil. Strudel in the magnetron warmed up..not eatable!

We went for dinner, and it was a terrible experience. It was incredibly cold; we ate with our coats on. The pork was served cold and dry—inedible. The flamkuchen was also cold, and the most outrageous thing of all was the price of tap water: €9.70!

We should have read the reviews beforehand. The food is nothing more than takeaway food. We were fooled by the cozy atmosphere. The fries and schnitzel are drenched in grease. Deep-fried schnitzel is already a problem. The sauces are ready-made, like probably everything else. We regret sitting here last night for dessert and drinks. Five euros for a cup of tea... Pretty ridiculous. Just water with a cheap sachet. Nothing more. We spent 22 euros for two apple strudels and a cup of tea. One of the staff, with a Slavic accent, was extremely rude. We almost felt guilty ordering something. Never again. Passing by? Better keep walking.

Dont be scared by the bad review score! I dont know what‘s happening here with the bad reviews but we had a very niceX hearty meal that fit the price. Wouöd recommend!

Absolute disaster!!!! Never had such a bad meal in a restaurant. The schnitzel was a 100% ready meal. Microwaved because it was served within five minutes of ordering. A €6 starter consisted of four stale slices of bread. The staff were totally unmotivated!

DO NOT GO IN! The food was a disaster. Only ready-made products, carelessly served on cheap Ikea plates. The Winzerbraten and the Currywurst were completely oversalted and clearly from packets. The blonde waitress is a complete disgrace. We were told €72.20, and after printing out the bill, we saw that she had simply quoted a higher price. The only thing that's okay is the ambiance. Probably to attract unsuspecting tourists. Please don't make the same mistake we did!!!

Great. We were initially impressed by the ambiance. Then we wanted to leave because the Google review was so bad. We returned the menus and said we were only drinking. Then we saw that it wasn't any better elsewhere, so we decided to eat here. Three people, each with a Federweißer, a Korn, and a beer, and each with a different schnitzel with fries or potato wedges. The food was surprisingly delicious, just as it should be. So, I don't really understand the bad review at all. The service was also friendly, everything was excellent overall! For a meal as a base for the evening and a good start to the meal, perfect!

I can't really agree with the bad reviews. The service was really great. The waiter was very friendly and radiated a good mood. The tarte flambée was delicious. However, many of the other dishes actually looked very simple. The wine was delicious. Overall, everything was quite expensive, but that was no different from any of the other restaurants we passed.

By far the worst schnitzel of my life...and the waitress was so rude and rude (beware of that blonde lady). After we paid, she looked at my phone as she walked by, wondering if I might be writing a review. After I pointed out to her that I shouldn't, she became rude. "You go, I'll call the police." The service was completely incompetent and incredibly unfriendly. You don't even need to bring a stroller, and you'll immediately be instructed on how to position the chairs. The tone of communication is more appropriate for other bars. You should avoid it!

Terrible!!! One star is too many!!! Extremely unfriendly service (has no place in the service area), you shouldn't even come with a stroller, chairs are only allowed in a certain position...we got up and moved on...luckily there are enough places where you'll receive a very friendly welcome!

Right from the start, the waiter persistently asked us to sit in the entrance area of the restaurant. The schnitzel advertised at €11.90 ended up being €13.90. This was most likely a frozen schnitzel. This was evident from the fact that we received our meal just two minutes after ordering. The fries were cold after just a few minutes (they had been reheated). And a Kölsch beer for €4.90 on top. We can't recommend it!

They served carelessly thrown-together "dishes" that were more reminiscent of a snack bar, but even there, you usually get better food. My onion schnitzel consisted of a dry piece of meat with a few dry fried onions, simply slapped on the side, with no sauce, no flavor. It came with dry fries. Everything seemed cheap and carelessly thrown together. The place seems to be solely designed to rip off tourists who happen to pass by and are fooled by appearances. The drinks are completely overpriced. A solid 6 for value for money.

We decided to pop in, feeling a bit peckish after a day on the motorbike. We started with a cup of coffee. I was in the mood for schnitzel, the wife for flammkuchen. We just ordered the standard schnitzel and half a flammkuchen. It was all ready in no time, which was surprising. The schnitzel was perfectly edible, but clearly bought pre-made from a wholesaler. With the fries on the side and a few sprigs of parsley on the plate, it looked sad and unloved. The flammkuchen was also one from a wholesaler's package. This won't set your heart racing. The bill will, however. €8 for a beer. Okay, you're in Cochem and not at home, but still. A funny detail: further on in town there's a restaurant with the EXACT same menu. It's a shame that these kinds of restaurants are losing all the authenticity of this beautiful village.

This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. It was very hot, and we had dogs with us. No water was offered for the dogs. Okay, not necessary, but service was provided. The waitress looked like she worked somewhere else in the evenings and had zero interest. The food was inedible. The winegrower's roast was inedible. When we asked if we could get mayo, an almost empty bottle of mayo from Gut und Günstig was placed on the table. The tarte flambée was okay, but the topping wasn't fresh. When we said the food was inedible, there was no response, just the bill for almost €50. I really should have left without paying; unfortunately, I'm not very well-mannered for that.

Hello to all tourists 👋 We were looking for something to eat. We saw this place and thought, OK. When we sat down, the waitress was a bit oppressive. No matter, we thought it was only 12:30 p.m. So we ordered. I had the winemaker's roast with fries, and my wife a tarte flambée. There was no bowl of water for the dogs. We had a white wine with it. The food arrived. When I asked if I could have mayo, they placed two good, inexpensive bottles on the table. Up until this point, I've tolerated it. Then the first bite of what was sold to me as winemaker's roast. It was simply disgusting. Completely overcooked, far too much paprika, extremely bitter, and the filling was, in my opinion, spoiled. Tarte flambée was fairground fare. Even the wine couldn't save it. We left everything and ended up paying €50 for our lesson. So you don't have to do that, please don't go there. That's the only way something will change in this lame restaurant. Thank you.

It's very cozy and the place is nicely decorated. The food is quite good, very tasty, though a bit dry, but if you order the meat with a sauce, it would be even better. They put bottles of mayonnaise and ketchup on the table so you can choose the sauce to go with your fries. We only had to wait a short while for our food.

CAUTION! There are three different entrances, two upstairs and one downstairs. Although all entrances suggest separate restaurants, they all seem to belong together. They all have the same menu and the same prices. The meals look inexpensive at first glance, but the menu sometimes lists different prices than the ones outside the restaurant. They argue, "The price outside was for a senior citizen's plate, but she had the regular portion." They advertise cheap menu prices, which suddenly become more expensive on the bill because the "menu time" has already passed, even if you ask beforehand whether the price is still correct at that time. The food quality doesn't even match that of a chip shop. Everything is warmed up and from a can, but that has been described here often enough. The drinks are up to 100% more expensive than the already expensive average in Cochem. Please check the drink prices before eating; around €8 for a 0.4 liter beer is the lowest price. This subsidizes the only superficially good food prices. Conclusion: From street-hopping touts designed to lure people in, to inconsistent and excessive prices, to poor service and food quality, these three restaurants fulfill all the requirements of a tourist trap built on rip-offs!

We kregen een diepvriesmaaltijd voorgeschoteld - compleet met uitjes uit een potje. Absoluut niet vers. Het personeel was onvriendelijk en niet behulpzaam. Tot overmaat van ramp moesten we €9,70 betalen voor een simpele fles water. We komen hier zeker nooit meer terug. Niet aan te raden.

Nice weinstube where we come every year. Delicious flammkuchen there👍 today; May 31, 2025 had a good meal here again and very friendly service. Too bad there are many people who use social media to complain "afterwards". We have been coming here for at least 8 years, sometimes with friends, sometimes with family and now with our own family. Always good.

Essen kam 2 Min nach der Bestellung- Mikrowelle sei Dank. Das ganze völlig überteuert, 0,0 Moselblick, laut, ecklig. Unbedingt weg bleiben- schlimmste Touristen Abzocke

After my visit to the Cochemer Weinstube, I'm leaning toward the latter. The service was – to put it mildly – ​​an absolute disgrace. You were treated more like an inconvenience that needed to be dealt with as quickly as possible. The food? Well, yes. First, the order was taken incorrectly – it can happen. Unfortunately, the whole thing was "served" not with an apology, but with a remarkable amount of ignorance and an extra portion of coldness on the plate. It seems as if the concept here is: "Wrong and cold – but expensive." The prices, by the way, are an experience in themselves: Almost €12 for half a tarte flambée with shrimp – which was not only poorly prepared, but also outrageously bland. And over €16 for a standard schnitzel? In Cochem? Brave. Or brazen. Decide for yourself. My conclusion: I'd rather go to bed hungry than even think about eating there again. And that's saying something. So if you want to treat yourself to an evening of bad mood, poor service, and overpriced cafeteria food – go ahead. For everyone else: stay away.

We had dinner with 2 people. The atmosphere is very inviting. The wine was quite expensive, but we drank two bottles and it was also very tasty. Then came the food... rump steak for €35, so you can expect quality and inspiration on the plate. Unfortunately, here's the disappointment. Placed on the plate with fries... nothing else, medium instead of medium rare. No decoration, no small salad, just fries and a €35 steak. Of course I asked the waiter about the loveless steak. She's not the boss... I think if they reduce the menu and have a few dishes that are really good, it's worth it. Unfortunately that won't happen.

Because the service is really nice and hard-working, there are two points... you shouldn't go here to eat. Disappointment is inevitable. The senior schnitzel is very small and tough and carelessly prepared... the potato swims in a kind of herbal quark sauce... the potato is subterraneanly small... when asked whether there was garlic in the curd, this was answered in the negative... that was also misinformation! If the staff weren't so polite... such a disappointment!!!

After reading all the negative comments after booking, I was afraid it would be a disappointment, but it certainly wasn't. The atmosphere is super cozy. Either you look out over the Moselle or you enter the atmospheric restaurant. The food is simply “delicious” German, lots of it and large pieces so we were not hungry after the time. The flammkuchen had a delicious thin, crispy base. The lady who served us was very nice and helpful. In short, it is definitely worth going here. And not as terrible as all the negative comments here say.

Nice atmosphere to have a drink, but it's better to forget about the food

We ordered steak, flammkuchen and a beer and ice tea. Only the beer, ice tea and flammkuchen were given. Flammkuchen was alright. But after waiting 45 minutes, the 2 waitresses were ignoring us constantly, the steak was apparently not on the order and one of the waitress ignored my friend while saying what we ordered. They even asked some American guys a table further what they had ordered while it was paid. We immediately paid (were not helped or asked how it was by the waitress) and immediately left. She didn't even say goodbye or anything.... If service could have been a 0 I would have done that. Never trust this place for service or actually getting second drinks or food.....
