Probably the worst meal I've ever been served. The atmosphere is really nice, but you won't get enough of it.

A tourist trap! Visited Cochem on a Monday evening in November when almost all restaurants were closed. Should have trusted the previous reviews of this place. Total disappointment!

Only ready meals are served. I can also cook these at home. Unfortunately you have to experience it yourself. Really have to agree with the very bad reviews here. TOURIST TRAP!!!

The furnishings are very well done. The food is not great, the drinks are totally overpriced. The waitress seemed bored and radiated it. So not recommended.

Once and never again. That is certainly the motto of the restaurant. It's really better to go hungry. You shouldn't support something like that under any circumstances. It's a shame that something like that exists in the city of Cochem. Don't do this to yourself.

This restaurant is not recommended as the food was very bad. All finished products, the fries were still raw, we complained about it, they were then thrown back into the deep fryer. When we served it again, the schnitzel was unfortunately cold. The drinks prices are completely overpriced. All in all not recommended at all!!!

Van buiten ziet het er idd gezellig uit, maar wat een Tegenvaller! Wij konden beneden helemaal achterin zitten, waar overigens geen nooduitgang is. Wij konden elkaar ondanks de TL verlichting niet goed zien, vanwege een zwerm vliegjes dat in de kelder rondvloog. Bij een tafeltje wat verder bij het licht vandaag werd het er niet veel beter op. Mijn man had gepaneerde champignons besteld als hoofdgerecht, maar die werden al apart uitgeserveerd. Bij de eerste hap spoot het vet uit de frituur er al uit en er zat ook nog een haar in. Dat was voor ons de druppel! Wij wilden de andere gerechten niet meer afwachten en zijn snel vertrokken! Jammer, want het personeel was echt keihard aan het werk!

Pure commercialism, completely overpriced. Beer 0.4 for €7.80. Fries were floury, our own spit roast was only lukewarm. Despite complaints, no improvement.

The beautifully designed restaurant, which offers a welcoming atmosphere, should be positively highlighted. However, the tarte flambée was burnt and hardly edible. The drinks were also overpriced and not worth the price. There was also a disinterested waitress.

⛔ Mistake of the day! It looks nice from the outside, but I won't step foot inside again. Eight people were seated at a table where there were still leftovers from the previous guests. There were so many fruit flies that it suddenly made me itch. Musty smell and a glass of wine/beer easily costs €7.90, and then you have a "normal" glass. Toilets outdated and not very clean. In the end we didn't eat there and given the reviews that was a good thing. I'd better check reviews first before I go anywhere.

You should start with the positive: the interior is quite nice, the service is not unfriendly. But that was it. We only ended up in this store because everything else was closed around 8 p.m. and we were starving. The reason for the "late opening", even though everyone else was already open, is probably that this shop belongs to a whole chain of "restaurants" that stretch along the Moselle promenade and, despite the bad food, loads of ash with day-trippers every day make. You can stay up late to catch the unsuspecting night owls. We both had the “pork loin steak” with “mushroom cream sauce” and potato wedges. My companion's face fell at first when I saw it, then mine when I took the first bite: the steak (which most likely came from the freezer) was dry and way too well done, the potato wedges from the bag were bland, and the sauce - I actually don't want it Call it that, it was more like good and cheap goo with a lot of salt and a homoeopathic amount of mushroom flakes - it tasted so much like chemicals and ready-made stuff that it's a disgrace that you pay €18.90 for this joke. We had a wonderful day of hiking and were really looking forward to a good meal, but that really ruined our evening. If you are thinking about eating here or in one of the associated rooms (which you can recognize by the similar menu, the same interior and the same displays on the tables): Don’t.

Tourist trap! Unfortunately we didn't check the Google reviews before eating here. Do yourself a favor and avoid all restaurants beyond Vonderbecks. They are probably all owned by the same owner and offer incredibly bad food and service. Feel free to read the other reviews, there are still wild stories. I rarely complain about a restaurant, but what was served here as pork loin with mushroom cream sauce was an absolute disgrace! The meat was burnt in several places, the sauce was a finished product that hardly looked like mushroom cream and the only side dish was fries or potato wedges (not good ones), because they probably just go into the deep fryer as a finished product. Plus the price: 19.90 plus €5.90 for a cola. If I could, I wouldn't have paid ANYTHING here.

Übelst! Überteuert, schlechtes Essen, minderwertige Qualität. Noch nie im Leben so schlecht gegessen. Flasche Wasser 9,90€. Ohne Worte!

Portionen sehr überschaubar. Keine frischen Zutaten (z.B. Champignons aus Dose). Kleine Ofenkartoffel mit flüssigem Kräuterquark für 13,90€. Die Kartoffelschale hat zwischen den Zähnen geknirscht. Völlig überteuert. Der Kellner war nett.

October 22, 2024. 6:15 p.m. Large selection of dishes. Ours were quite simply prepared. The fair fish is better at the fair. The winemaker's roast was good. It could have been something more for me. The two men were very friendly and tried to treat everyone who came in as a guest. The hospitality was gay-friendly. Drink prices are cheap for the location. Graduated prices for wine.

Absolute Frechheit, alles überteuert, Kühltruhen (Fraß)muss man sagen, Getränke absolut überteuert, Aperol so teuer wie auf Ibiza im Top Club am Strand, niemals wieder, einfach ein Abzockladen

Hello, I have to agree with Yvonne. The stars are only so that you can rate. Vintner roast and pork loin absolutely died twice, totally dry. Prices are not justifiable. Oh yes, nothing is freshly made, everything comes from a bag or ready-made product. Very worth considering

I honestly don't understand the negative reviews. It's a beautiful place, warm, welcoming, good beers, I had cucumber salad, chips and frankfurters, all tasty and plentiful.

The atmosphere is the only thing you should be here for. The restaurant is nicely decorated but the food is poor but the prices resemble a 5 star restaurant. We had a hunter and gypsy schnitzel where the sauces came from a package and the schnitzel from the fryer. A cucumber salad costing almost 6 euros with a maximum of 2 bites. And then we asked for the bill and the hostess kept talking on her cell phone.

They should just be ashamed of themselves!!! A beer 0.4l € 7.80!!!! An apple spritzer 0 33l € 5.50!!! This is pure rip-off. You should avoid this location.

Cheap Plürre (wine) that is sold at overpriced prices. Avoid the weird restaurant. This is not worth your money.

After I saw that a 0.75 liter bottle of water costs €9.90 and looked at the other reviews, I lost my appetite

When we took our order, our waitress started directing other people into the restaurant. We had almost no attention. The food was mediocre, but the prices were top notch. The chicken schnitzel could easily have come from the frozen section of Aldi. I don't like to write bad reviews, but I want to warn ignorant tourists here. The ambience is great but for the prices you get better service and better food. In addition, 3/6 people in our group have a stomach ache. Keep your ears stiff

Don't go! It's a pure tourist trap. I've never eaten so badly. Nothing is fresh, nothing homemade, nothing tasty. Horrible. The prices are absurdly high for this crap. Actually, the unmotivated and bad-tempered service should have stopped us from coming in. Just really don't go in here. Not just for a drink either.

Absolute rip-off, almost outrageous!!! Two wine spritzers with 70% water and styleless glasses, plus lukewarm for €15.40!!! You have to be warned about this place!!

If we had looked at the reviews beforehand, we would have saved a lot. All ready meals. Schnitzel comes out of the deep fryer and the onions were not fresh, but dry fried onions. Half of the tarte flambée was dry and only warmed briefly in the microwave. The only real thing was the beer.

The food isn't too bad for a restaurant catering to tourists. I didn’t take pictures of the food, everything was standard like everywhere else - fried potatoes, steak. Service is fast. Yes, this place is suitable to satisfy your hunger and is definitely not intended for hedonists. I didn't like the interior anymore. The decor looks like garbage. The framed photographs are covered with mold. I'm afraid to imagine what's in the kitchen. Throw everything away, wash it, paint it, decorate it with modern decor🙌

Leek van de buitenkant een gezellig restaurant. Na een tafel gevonden te hebben, onder werd je begeleid maar boven moest je zelf uitzoeken. Het lokaal was erg donker en we hebben ons telefoonlampje moeten gebruiken om de kaart te lezen. Je zit als haringen in een ton. De bediening was ongeïnteresseerd en smeet nog net niet je bord op tafel. Het eten wat wij kregen was wel goed.

Unfortunately we only read the reviews after our visit. But it's true - really not recommended! Total rip-off and food doesn't taste good, except for the delicious garlic cream with baquette! The only thing that's great is the view of the Moselle!

Walk right past this! If you do not ask guests whether the food was good when paying, you know that what you are serving is not good. Very bad, we wanted to eat something and decided to eat (with the 6 of us), we were first sent upstairs and then to the terrace (upstairs) where the man who was going to serve us did not look too happy, but in the end we were we were crammed into a corner on this terrace on ONE table for 4 (were also not allowed to sit inside, the response to that question was that the terrace had to be full before they let people sit inside, very strange) narrow at first we had something like okay and then there was almost nothing food-wise on the menu, we wanted to go and the man who served us above was nowhere to be seen, all in all it was nice to eat somewhere else, we haven't ordered a drink yet (we weren't even told offered when we sat down, menu cards were also thrown on the table) but the restaurant does look good in terms of decor, but that's it.

Haxe mit Kartoffelecken: Haxe völlig roh serviert. Bestandteile sind wie ein Flummi rauf und runter gesprungen. Kartoffelecken kalt. Senf in einer Pulle, die wahrscheinlich hunderte von Menschen bereits in den Händen hatten. Wein mit Ekelerregenden Geschmack. Essen der Partnerin...... matsche ungenießbar. Getränke mussten bezahlt werden, ohne dessen Genuss......... Qualität unterirdisch........ !!!

Achtung Abzocke! Würde gerne Null Sterne geben, zum bewerten leider einen. Da weiß man garnicht wo man anfangen soll. Ambiente eigentlich ganz nett, dennoch ranzig und dreckig. Die Bedienung war der Knaller, verwies uns an einen dreckigen Tisch, wurde nicht gereinigt, nur die Gläser vom Vormann abgeräumt. Die Bedienung war absolut desinteressiert und durchgehend während des Service mit einem Mann in anderer Sprache am flirten. Bestellung nahm Sie von der Kasse( stand hinter uns) aus auf. Tisch klebrig und voller Salz und Fett. Besteckkiste siffig mit Glasscherben und vertrocknete Motten drin. Kleines TK Schnitzel mit Fertigsauce, verbrannter Flammkuchen. Gut und günstig Mayonnaise und Ketchup vom Discounter nicht gekühlt in fiesen Flaschen auf dem Tisch geknallt!!!! Habe Sie gefragt, ob Sie nicht wissen wollte, wie es war, weil gefragt wurden wir nicht. Weinplörre in Billiggläser,echt nicht schön. Hab mich lange nicht mehr so geärgert. The waitress was a blast, directed us to a dirty table, was not cleaned, only the glasses were cleared away by the foreman. The waitress was completely uninterested and constantly flirted with a man in a different language during the service. She took the order from the cash register (which was behind us). Table sticky and full of salt and grease. Cutlery box littered with broken glass and dried moths in it. Small frozen schnitzel with ready-made sauce, burnt tarte flambée. Good and cheap mayonnaise and ketchup from the discounter not chilled and popped on the table in nasty bottles!!!! I asked her if she didn't want to know what it was like because we weren't asked. Wine pours in cheap glasses, really not nice. I haven't been this annoyed in a long time. Unfortunately no one there is interested. Attention tourist trap!!!! ⚠️ The Moselle is so beautiful 😇

The tarte flambée with salmon was subterranean. The ambience is nice and the service needs a lot of improvement. The restaurant appears to have the same menu as the other two next to it. They prices are very high.

What a crappy tent. Childish and gum chewing waitress who thought she was the one. The schnitzel was decent, but the Jäger sauce contained pieces of beef from probably a previous customer... fries had been fried 3 times and the mess had been belching up all evening. Plus 7.90 for a glass of bend, which they sold under the name of wine and ultimately a hefty bill... Once but never again!!!!

Absolutes no Go. Nachdem ich ein Hüftsteak in pfeffersoße hatte, musste ich mich den ganzen Abend übergeben. Die Gerichte waren überteuert haben so lala geschmeckt. Wir hatten Glück dass wir zu zweit unterwegs waren und wir nicht dieselbe Gerichte hatten. Ich bin nämlich auf der Rückfahrt zusammengebrochen (Kreislauf). Als ich nach einer halben Stunde wieder wach wurde musste ich mich den ganzen Abend übergeben. Teilweise mitten auf der Autobahn auf dem rechten Streifen anhalten müssen um mich zu übergeben.

Wat een vreselijke zaak!! Zeer zeer onvriendelijk personeel!! Het eten zet je een varken nog niet voor! Voor 19 euro kreeg je koude vette bruine friet en een schnitzel (of iets wat er op moest lijken) die je moest zoeken onder een gelei achtig prutje (4 champignons uit blik erdoor) bij het aanzicht alleen al moest je kokhalzen! De flammkuche zag er nog redelijk uit maar daar hield het bij op! Gebakken uitjes uit een zak en een droge smakeloze bodem met alleen wat roomkaas! (15 euro!) Toen we aangaven dat we niet tevreden waren werden we afgesnauwd door een brutale meid! Ze nam niet eens de moeite om tot ons tafeltje te komen! Er was geen kok aanwezig en er werd aangeven dat er toch niets zou veranderen! Andere gasten waren ook aan het klagen. Ronduit schandalig want de prijzen waren ook nog eens fors! Eten laten staan en niet alles betaald! Advies; loop een straat verder van de Mozel af daar is het beter eten!!!

Actually comfortable. The waitress was very friendly, but cleanliness is in the details. In the cutlery boxes on the tables there were dried mayflies that had not only been there for a week. And that along with cutlery and napkins. Food was OK, but nothing more. Priced for tourists.

Absolute Tourifalle!! Nicht zu empfehlen! An der gesamten Mosel entlang haben wir immer gut gegessen für wirklich faire Preise - hier NICHT!! 50€ für zwei Pizzen (die für den Preis nicht lecker waren) und 2 Getränke. Ein Bier 7, 90€ und eine Cola für 5,90€ absolute Frechheit. Die calzone war nicht durchgebacken und kam früher als die andere Pizza. Meine Pizza vegetaria bestand mehr aus nackten Boden als aus wirklich guter Pizza mit leckerem Belag. Wirklich eine Enttäuschung.

Nice atmosphere where you can comfortably take a break. Of course, the prices here are primarily higher than on a side street, but you should actually know that. We ate tarte flambée, which we couldn't complain about. The service was very friendly.

Food is terrible. Had ordered a Margherita pizza, got a crusty piece of baked flour topped with tomato sauce over it. Staff is friendly and courteous. I guess you just pay for the view of the river. I do not recommend this place for food.

Looks like a nice, quirky place and is in a good position along the river. But the food was poor, the schnitzel batter was overcooked and the price of the beer and wine is extortionate for the quality. Our meal was no better than an imbiss, but 3 times the price.

Absolute disgrace, the chicken schnitzel was tiny, the burnt hard breading was covered with pepper sauce. The waitress asked nicely if everything was OK. We politely said that we were absolutely not satisfied. She said nicely that she would discuss it with her superior, who came to the table without a word and collected the money. Drinks were totally overpriced, we spent 117 euros, my son had a single potato for a lot of money, not big, with some chopped tomatoes and minimal rocket. We all couldn't get enough for this insane price. You can't get food poisoning there, the amount is too small

At 10:20 p.m. you are told that you should order and eat quickly because it closes at 11 p.m. Tarte flambée and a bottle of water = €25. Way too overpriced. Food was OK at best, nothing more.

We were given our main course whilst we were half way through our first course… just unacceptable. If you think the prices are good it’s because the portions are small. Moreover the steak was dry. Staff is not particularly kind. And then to charge €9 for a single glass of wine and €10 for an aperol spritz… I wouldn’t recommend.

Nice place with a very large and rich wine history. I talked to them about the past of this wine cellar. I know the reviews are not too good, we lightly ate the Bruschetta and the aioli with bread. It was prepared with great care and super fresh. That was wonderful. Beer 7.80 for 0.4 was too expensive..

First impression was good. Surprisingly, the food (wine roast and Hubertus roast) came after about 5 minutes. Food was lukewarm and as others have already mentioned, nothing was fresh and the meat was completely overcooked. When paying, told the waitress. Answer: I'll pass this on (where one expects something like this to happen immediately when a complaint is made!!!). She just picked up the bill and continued her work. We paid and left. Conclusion: NEVER AGAIN! Then prefer McDonalds. The food is fresher and tastes better. 😉It is particularly weak or sad that neither the management nor those responsible comment on the reviews. 😔

Simply a disaster!!!!!! Sher dirty, all over the dirt and dust. Instead of rumph steak, simple bligers meat. The food was very cold. Employee rude and disrespectful. Too expensive.

Normal schnitzel and cordon bleu were normal frozen schnitzels and then the prices for them were an absolute rip-off. The schnitzels weren't even really hot. A non-alcoholic wheat cost over 7 euros which is a complete disgrace, unfortunately I only saw it on the bill. The ambience looks okay on the outside but you can't look deeper. It's a shame, I was very disappointed, especially since I ate much better for the same price a day later. At least the service was normally nice.

Tourist trap, you are approached from outside by Asians who work there. The prices below are not correct at the entrance. Children's prizes are offered. There are two identical shops on the street.

Restaurant with a mega menu. Probably 50 pages. That says it all. Prices very high. you just pay for the waterfront promenade. We only had little things. Greaves, calamari, potato wedges and coleslaw. Everything was ok, but not great either. Could use a renovation.

Unfortunately I can only agree with the bad reviews. The only reason why the shop can call itself a "restaurant" is the furnishings, the food is at best a chip shop level. As a starter we had bruschetta, which was ok, and fried mushrooms, breaded and watery. The main course was schnitzel with fries, pure frozen goods and a Spätzele pan, far too much pepper and zero taste. Everything was made from ready-made products and had nothing to do with cooking. The drinks prices were a joke, almost 8€ for half a liter of beer is cheeky, 0.4l of cola almost 6€. Never again!

We were there on 7/5/24. Since the waiter Guiseppe no longer works there, everything has been a mess. 1 SMALL baked potato with sour cream: €12.90 1 onion schnitzel with fries: €13.90 2 SMALL Cola: €8.80 (0.2 l glasses) TOTAL: €35.60 Toilet dirty... The place has probably never been dusted. We were the only guests,......(at Guiseppe it was always full and the prices weren't that rip-off)...should have been suspicious. ATTENTION FRAUD AND RIP-OFF! We actually wanted to eat because the rustic exterior of the shop appealed to us. The beer was offered to us as a "half liter" at a reasonable price of €7.80 by the mediocre service staff - two 0.4 liter beers arrived. When we looked at the plates at the next table, we decided against eating because the portions and the visual impression were simply outrageous in relation to the prices. When paying, we pointed out to the waitress, who was in the same mood, that they were 0.4 glasses and not half liters. "Oh, we usually use other glasses" was the outrageous comment, because there was neither a discount nor a free refill. Actually unbelievable, but that's what happened. So BEWARE: YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED HERE! Unfortunately there is no way to avoid one star, otherwise it definitely wouldn't exist.....

Attention, absolute rip-off! During our Moselle trip we stopped at the Cochemer Weinstube and had the worst and most outrageous experience in terms of gastronomy so far! The menu is very confusing and does not correspond to the prices shown in front of the restaurant. We paid a whopping €17.80 for a carafe of 0.5l Mosel Riesling and €9.90 for 0.75l mineral water! My friend ordered a cordon bleu with fries and olives with tzatziki as a starter. A mini frozen schnitzel with fries was served and then the starter afterwards. After he complained, the schnitzel was exchanged for a cordon bleu without any problem, but it was just as cheap frozen discount goods as everything else! Simply disgusting! My tarte flambée was ok! Normally I'm reluctant to spend precious time writing reviews, but in this case it's such an obvious tourist trap that you just have to warn about it! We also told the boss of our very nice hotel in Cochem about our experience, he confirmed to us that the owners who run a few restaurants on the promenade (they all have the same look from the outside) follow the concept of “just come here anyway “Day trips that you never see again” live and are known for ripping off people. It's a shame for the image of the pretty city of Cochem! We took the trouble to look at the face of the lady who is responsible for such a business model through the imprint of this restaurant company - shame on you!!

Pizza wie Zwieback,mit Besteck nicht oder nur mit großer Mühe zu bewältigen. Getränkepreise unverschämt,leider schon bestellt bevor ein Blick in die Karte möglich war. Touriabzocke vom feinsten!

With a lot of luck, the schnitzel was from the day before and they didn't even bother to warm it up, although it probably wouldn't have gotten any better. The advertised cheap tarte flambée are only half tarte flambée on the menu and the drink prices are utopian. Clearly a tourist trap, stay away and look for something else

Ambience great, no question. Food very very small portion, absolutely not justified for the price. Wine good but expensive. Service is consistently friendly and polite.

Beautiful view and service friendly and attentive. Food absolutely terrible, Cordon Bleu cheapest frozen food and then €23.90...very cheeky. Drinks prices are high, 0.2l cola €4.40 you pay for the view. Tarte flambée is also just a finished product. But it's a good thing you live there from day guests because there probably won't be any returnees. Next time it's better to read reviews first...

Mit Abstand den schlechtesten Schnitzel, den ich je gegessen habe. Sehr wahrscheinlich Halbfertifgprodukt... Kleine Portion, sehr wenige Soße.

Very disappointing!! Portions far too small, ingredients not of the best quality, carelessly prepared. I wouldn't recommend it.

I can only associate myself with!!! We were happy to forego overpriced drinks and food!!!!!

Just had coffee and cake and a waffle.

An absolute disaster. We stopped by at lunchtime and thought: “looks nice, reasonable prices, we’re going out for dinner tonight” So bad you can't describe it. Everything from the TK. Deep fried in old fat. Salad from the bucket as well as the sauces. Prices that you can put your ears down. What was advertised outside were prices for half portions. Cucumber salad from the bucket €5.90, the cheapest wine for €7.90 etc. I'm still thinking about whether I should inform the health department. Took a bite, called the waitress out of decency, paid for the drinks and left. The place was certainly a really good place at one time. Now a tourist rip-off.

Underground food! We haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Ready-made meals and outrageous prices.

That was an absolute joke! We've never had such bad food! Everything frozen or from a plastic bucket. We had more than half returned and didn't pay the full price either. The waiter apologized by saying that the kitchen staff was unfortunately made up of inexperienced people. Not recommended!! (we were there on May 2nd, 2024)

As already read here, the food is a disgrace. The ambience is deceptive, there are small tables everywhere with supposedly cheap prices for food... BUT - the (too) large menu shows that the offerings are only half portions. We didn't fall for it, "only" drank a glass of wine each at overpriced prices and quickly left the questionable location...

Unfortunately one star too many. The food is so bad!!! Finished products and probably warmed up in the microwave. Very expensive!

Alles was slecht, bediening, eten en zelf de wijn. Voor wat ons voorgeschoteld wasde prijs exorbitant te veel. Eten was te scherp van smaak. Tiramisu was zonder likeur, de wijn had veel droesem op de bodem .
