Ellis Schnitzel-Haus in Cochem

Prices on the board at the entrance give a different impression than they actually are. The food was miserable (from the freezer??) Fried onion schnitzel - fried onions from the 1 euro can from Lidl, with NO sauce. So completely dry. Drinks as expensive as in star restaurants; But rosé wine wasn't wine, just grape must, unfiltered.

Very pricey store, choice of Senior Schnitzel, medium and XL. The medium schnitzel is half of a regular schnitzel 🥲. My wife asked for spring water and was given tap water for which 5 euros had to be paid. I ended up paying 50 euros for 2 small Schnitzels with fries, a glass of cola, a glass of Radler and a glass of tap water. So it was a huge disappointment, never here again.

Service was very nice. Our tarte flambées were very appealing and delicious. Furnishings a little less appealing, sanitary facilities not 100% recommended.

The nastiest schnitzel I've ever eaten in my life. Cardboard-like consistency and disgusting taste. As already mentioned in the other comments, the sauce was also a disgusting finished product. Service wasn't good either, the waiter apparently found it appropriate to throw the beer mats across the table and almost into people's faces. Prices that don't correspond to the food at all. 20€ for the “schnitzel” described above.

Het doet zijn naam geen eer aan. Vettige schnitzel met wat friet in een pan. Geen sla of garnering. Vroeg om mayo werd er een fles op tafel gezet. Had wel wat meer verwacht voor dat geld. Waterige saus.

The store is visually very beautiful. But that was it! The food is absolutely AWESOME. The sirloin steak was raw and there were fried onions from Ikea! The veal schnitzel was cardboard and the fries were limp and not cooked through! If you order bread with dip you get 4 small slices of bread. Way too expensive for the disgusting food! Not recommended at all.

Restaurant was great. People were super nice too. Schnitzels were great and highly recommended. Only the fries were the cheapest from the supermarket and mayonnaise and ketchup were also very cheap, which is not advertising for a restaurant. When it comes to drinks you are completely ripped off where not a single price is justified.

Unfreundlich, teuer und nicht frisch. So kann man es kurz fassen. 2 Pizzen bestellt eine mit extra Knoblauch. War Anscheinend schon zu viel verlangt. 1 Pizza kam an wurde uns hingeworfen, anders kann man es nicht sagen. Knoblauch kam dann als Pulver extra an den Tisch. 2. Pizza dauerte dann nochmal 5 Minuten bis sie am Tisch war. Geschmack war so na,ja…für den Preis kann man auch ein paar frische Zutaten verwenden!

The best thing about the Schnitzel House is the view of the Moselle. The staff was super friendly, but unfortunately there was a lack of technical expertise. Unfortunately the food ruined everything. Unfortunately, the name Schnitzelhaus is in no way justified. So just because there are a lot of schnitzels on the menu doesn't mean that they are good. Our schnitzels were all frozen schnitzels which were swimming in fat. The sauces were totally over salted and obviously all out of the bag. If you want to eat well, it's better to go somewhere else and not there.

Not even worth a star. Beer for €7 tasted bland. The cola also has a rancid aftertaste. My husband asked me if I was also dissatisfied. We had actually ordered food too, but quickly called the waiter to pay. He asked us several times in an unfriendly manner what we didn't like. We explained this to him and paid €12 for a shandy and a coke and left without eating anything. The smell of the store also left a lot to be desired. We're glad we didn't eat there.

Live and let live. Service was very nice and friendly. Nice selection of dishes. But the food itself was pretty much OK. Schnitzel was cold and the sauce on it wasn't exactly spicy or anything like that. OK for quick hunger. Unfortunately the price was higher than the schnitzel...

Tourist rip-off! If there are entertainers standing in front of the door to funnel unsuspecting tourists into the store...then everyone's alarm bells should go off. The price tags in front of the door promise many dishes at great prices... that drinks are incredibly more expensive here and the portions are small... no one here suspects that. Look out for these signs in Cochem... you'll often find them on the promenade and elsewhere... keep going!!!

Das Essen war die reinste Katastrophe, wir haben ein Champignon Rahmschnitzel gegessen, 3 von 4 Personen mussten nach ein paar Stunden brechen. Dann werden die Leute mit den Preisen am Eingang so richtig verarscht. Wir haben noch nie so schlecht gegessen. Getränke waren auch ůberteuert. Den Laden kann man in keinsterweise weiterempfehlen.

Unfortunately it's not tasty!!!! I ordered a schnitzel with fried onions for 19.90. I didn't get a fresh schnitzel, which tasted like it had been thawed, with ready-made dry fried onions from the bag. So for the money I would have expected a good schnitzel with fresh fried onions. We had a delicious meal here last week. Fried on a plate, no deep fryer snitzel, plenty of sauce and fries next to it. Friendly service ready for jokes, as you would expect from a snitzel restaurant. Definitely recommended, have been going here for a number of years.

The prices are too high for the quality. However, it has to be said that other restaurants in Cochem also charge these prices. Where there are a lot of tourists, the prices are often too high.

Food and drinks were catastrophic! Both had schnitzel with Hungarian style paprika sauce, fries and cucumber salad. It took less than 5 minutes for the food to be on the table and that's exactly how it tasted... The schnitzel and the sauce had hardly any taste, the mayo for the fries came from the unrefrigerated "good & cheap" bottle, the dressing from the cucumber salad was watery, the spring onions on the salad were shriveled, definitely not freshly cut, and the iced tea was far too sweet and was served in a beer glass with ice cubes without a straw... We spent over €50 here for two people, really a disgrace! But the service was at least nice and friendly. The only nice thing was the view of the Moselle.

These schnitzels are absolutely delicious, you can't eat them. Fries so salty that they give you a heart attack. Once back at the hotel you could still smell the frying oil. Never again.

Leider war es ein Reinfall. Das Schnitzel hat nicht nach Schnitzel geschmeckt und war sowas von dünn. Die Salatsoße vom Gurkensalat hatte Null Geschmack - wässerig. Die Getränke überteuert! Positiv zu erwähnen ist der Service und die Pommes!

Quick preparation and the cut tasted good. Pizza was good too. Friendly staff. Clean men's room. Large glass of cola=€4.99 and bitter lemon €6.99. I think that's expensive for a drink. That makes it pricey. You can also enjoy a beautiful view of the Moselle.

Nice location, but that's about all. Food is not great and relatively pricey. For good food it is better to skip the first few tents along the Moselle. And for good food that is cheaper, it is better to go into the village itself. The hygiene here was also not as you would like it to be. In summary nice view but that's all.

Man Oh man!, I'm actually always happy when I can write good reviews. But I can't say anything good here! Except that the gentleman in service was very friendly! Who knows why? We stopped by the restaurant on July 22nd, 2024. Outside there are prices and different portion sizes. But the prices don't match. Well, we ordered a larger portion: two bratwursts and a few fries. So per person. It were a few fries...uh...how little would a smaller portion be?? Everything wasn't exactly warm. And the sausage tasted, well... water 4.99 and cola also 4.99. I know, we're not exactly gourmets and love good home cooking. How would schnitzel have tasted? Well that came with it Ask about the toilet and the answer is that you have to get out of the restaurant. Hello, any questions?? Conclusion, always read reviews beforehand!! As the saying goes? Eenvoudig, geen haute cuisine, snelle hap. Schnitsel goed gebakken en opgediend, Jagersaus was niet vers gemaakt en niet lang genoeg opgewarmd (heel lauw). Opgelet .... een gewone cola of limonade 0.2L zoals in Belgie is al heel duur en bedienen ze niet graag, ze verkopen liever een glas 0.4L aan 7 eur per glas. Het beste aan gans de beleving is het uitzicht als je op balkon aan waterkant kunt zitten.

The Flammkuchen we ordered were dry and could have been much better. The terrace offers a beautiful view over the Moselle, but the major drawback is that smoking is allowed on the terrace. As a result, all chain smokers sit on the terrace. Very disturbing for non-smokers. The drinks are ridiculously expensive. You pay €4.50 for a glass of still water and €8 for a glass of tonic. I would never recommend this restaurant.

Outrageous prices, without clear labeling (signs, drinks menu missing). We only found out when we got the bill that 0.4L of beer cost €7.80. The schnitzels were average. Our first and last visit. Tip: even on the Zugspitze it is significantly cheaper and tastier! ;-)

Das Essen war kalt .Gurkensalat total pfefferig so das wir ihn wieder zurückgegeben haben. Das Schnitzel ein Senioren oder Kinderschntzel war ein tk Schnitzel.

You get the schnitzel with fries, but without vegetables/garnishes, together with the fries in a frying pan. So here you eat from the pan instead of a plate. We expected better food here.

Completely overpriced for Tk true Two schnitzels and two cokes €42 gone! Schnitzel was really bad, everyone makes it better at home and the fries were very soggy and absolutely not seasoned (never again)! Cola tasted stale, like it was from last week! DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED!

We weren't asked which schnitzel we wanted, we were served veal and it was almost €10 more expensive than on the menu. Never again!

Tasty schnitzel place with a view! I ordered a normal portion of schnitzel with hollandaise sauce and asparagus and wedge potatoes. Food arrived quickly and everything was super hot. It was a good option when most other restaurants closed during the middle of the day after lunch. Payment by card accepted. An older gentleman was our server and he was very friendly and even spoke some Polish words to us when he found out we’re from Poland. Overall nice experience.

Catastrophic conditions. Chicken schnitzel wasn't cooked through, the glasses were dirty, the prices didn't match the menu (sometimes 5 euros more expensive in the restaurant than advertised outside), drinks were outrageously expensive (5 euros for a glass of water), no discount or compensation. I would never go in there again.

The opening times are incorrect. It was closed at 6:00 p.m., no indication of when it would open and no telephone number or anything similar. (March 2024)

So everything is overpriced, especially the drinks. Something like that goes too far. The schnitzels are thawed and briefly warmed up. The sauce is worse than a ready-made sauce. "Cochems Fastfood" Restaurant, wie es hier in Cochem genannt wird. Die Lage besticht mit einem schönen Ausblick direkt auf die Mosel. Das Essen, der Schwerpunkt Schnitzel bietet eine umfangreiche Speisekarte mit Variationen. Das Essen ist zügig serviert. Zum Essen wird eine Flasche Mayo oder Ketchup gereicht. Das Schweineschnitzel war lecker, das Putenschnitzel war etwas zäh, aber später kein Anlass zur Beschwerde.

Also ich weiß nicht was man dazu sagen soll. Mir jedenfalls fehlen die Worte. Wie das halt so in touristisch erschlossen Gegenden ist , alles billigster Müll der teuer verkauft wird. Guten Appetit verkneift man sich da besser.

Nie wieder!!! ich hatte ein Schnitzel mit Röstzwiebeln. Die Röstzwiebel waren die getrockneten Dinger aus der Dose. Dort wird nur billiges Fertig-Essen "Lau-Warm" gemacht und hat nichts mit Gastronomie zu tun. Kategorie: Touristenmast Ich glaube nicht das die einen Gast zweimal sehen.

Also ich frage mich wie das Restaurant abgesehen von dem Blick auf def Mosel 2,8 Sterne bekommen konnte.. Schnitzel aufgetaucht und das nicht mal richtig, beim aufschneiden lief noch Wasser raus und es war völlig versehnt. Soße auch wässrig und Getränke überteuert. Ich wollte keine 4€ für 0,2 Wasser bezahlen. Uns wurde 2x das falsche Essen hingestellt und Bedienung hat das nicht verstanden und wollte uns das Essen schon fast aufzwängen. Im Restaurant fliegen überall Obstfliegen rum und ich will gar nicht daran denken wo die herkommen. Pommes auch nicht ansatzweise gewürzt und viel zu kross. Ohne das knacken beim reinbeißen hätte ich nicht gewusst ob ich Pommes oder ungekochte Nudeln esse. Wenn das Restaurant voll aussieht, dann nur weil die alle noch nie da waren. Nicht zu empfehlen...

We ordered two schnitzels which tastes very good, also they arrived in like 10 min. Good value for the money. Furthermore the waiter (Nico) was very nice. He took a photo of us and he good humor and made us laugh
