Food was too simple. Ready-made schnitzel with fries thrown on plate and done. 6 euros for a coke is also unheard of. View was great hence 1 star for the beautful view.

In short, one of the worst "restaurants" I've ever been to. Exorbitant prices for average takeaway food. The schnitzel was a convenience product, meaning it wasn't breaded or fried, but served with fries, which weren't even cooked properly. The roast was riddled with tendons and fat lumps and, instead of a spicy gravy, was served with some kind of yogurt dip. Poorly presented plates, lackluster staff, and a carafe of table water (0.7 L) that you can get for €10. Vastly overpriced and inedible, but unfortunately not an exception in Cochem!

The cucumber salad that is offered is €6 euros! Otherwise eaten fine, flammenkuchen was cold. The view was nice.

Absolutely disappointing – never again! We arrived at the restaurant at 8:00 p.m. and had to wait a full 30 minutes for the waiter, until we finally had to call him ourselves. We ordered fish and schnitzel – both looked suspicious from the start, and the taste confirmed our suspicions: they were clearly frozen food that had simply been warmed up. The waiter even admitted it himself! I've never experienced anything like this before – simply embarrassing. We paid 40 euros for two people, and it was truly inedible. Absolutely not recommended!

I can only agree. Tourist trap, the most expensive beer I've ever drunk, €7.50. Schnitzel is dirty, as are children's plates and toilets, that says it all. If you point this out to the staff, you just get the answer "We're temporary workers from Romania or something else." Never again.

Food was cold and indicated you get a new one but that was also cold and you get the main course almost at the same time as your starter, Indicated but you are treated very badly almost rudely there. Mushrooms come from a can and the chicken schnitzel is pressed chicken. Looks like a big chicken nugget.

We were lured in from the street. It shouldn't have happened to us. But good. The food is not fundamentally bad. But it has “swimming pool quality”. The schnitzels seem to be ready-made, just like the fries. The cola tastes like cheap cola. Price-performance is simply not right here! Ambiance like on Malle. There is no recommendation from me.

Ik weet niet waarom de Nederlanders allemaal zo lopen te zeuren maar dit is gewoon een goede tent om even snel lekker wat te eten. Aardig personeel en snel je eten op je bord WARM. Niet KOUD. Mensen verdienen wat meer hier aangezien de reviews ontzettend slecht zijn heb ik samen met mijn vriend een overheerlijke kurry worst op met friet. Je kreeg zelfs een fles mayonaise bij je friet. Goede tent , zeker aan te raden.

Can understand the bad reviews. The prices are absolutely outrageous. I just ordered a coffee. The coffee milk that came with it was 5 months(!) expired. This was floating around in crumbs on my coffee. I complained and got a new coffee with milk in a shot glass. But I left this one standing. Ambience is nice.

The first impression was good, but then came the food. The Pizzeria La Grande - a few doors down - also belongs to this company. Poor quality guaranteed. The food is terrible! Ready schnitzel with fries and a bottle of “Gut und Günstig Mayo” ready sauce with canned mushrooms. For €14.90 senior portion! For comparison, a friend had a normal schnitzel that was smaller than mine for €18.90!

Als je van onvriendelijk personeel en koude gerechten houdt dan moet je zeker hier een keer langsgaan! Bediening was kortaf en niet echt behulpzaam met uitleg aan een kind wat met ons mee was. Bier smaakte naar… afwasmiddel. Het eten was steenkoud en nadat we het teruggestuurd hadden kreeg de ene het warm en de ander het nog net niet eens lauw aangeboden met koude friet. Zeer slecht al met al en gaan er ook nooit meer terug, m’n maag moet het nog verwerken.. 🤢

Das war der schlimmste Besuch in einem Restaurant ever. Das kann man nicht mal Fraß nennen. Später habe ich mich mit einer Kellnerin eines anderen Restaurants unterhalten. Sie meinte, der Betreiber hat mehrere Läden und macht bald einen weiteren auf. O- Ton Betreiber: Die kommen eh alle nur einmal. Ich werde mein Vorgehen nicht ändern. Die Bewertungen sind mir egal. Dazu fällt mir nur ein Begriff ein: Verbrecher. Dem sollte man das Handwerk legen.

DANGER!!! Absolutely lousy and disappointing! We chose this restaurant because we had a nice day traveling and were looking forward to the grilled specialties advertised. The ambience is rustic and the view of the Moselle is quite beautiful! Schlager music is playing in the background to underline the mood?! Inappropriate in my opinion. We asked about specifically recommended non-alcoholic drinks. This was answered with cola, soda or water... The beer was also probably recommended. To eat we ordered a mushroom cream schnitzel and a rump steak with herb butter. We weren't asked for medium or rare! Drinks and food were served very quickly! The drinks were absolutely nothing special, unfortunately! The beer was quite watery, the iced tea was 0815 Then the food came. The steak was completely cooked through and tasted without any seasoning. Even the herb butter couldn't save it. Everything about the grilled taste was missing The fries were the normal thin fries. They didn't know salt. Steakhouse fries would have been recommended. The schnitzel was looked for under the breading. The meat was pounded very thin and fried too hot. (You couldn't tell it was on a grill or pan) The sauce only covered the middle of the schnitzel. The price is a disgrace! 36 euros for the rump steak is a complete rip-off! A disappointment for the day, we set off and were more than surprised at the end of the day. Stay away!

Prices like a 5 star restaurant...the food was disgusting, substandard...couldn't and didn't want to finish eating. Baguette with garlic butter for €6.90 just had to take a photo. I didn't rate the food because there's nothing to rate...

At first glance it looks like a cozy restaurant with many options. My friend had a steak with garlic butter. The meat was good, but the butter was in a container and was clearly not homemade. I myself had a flamkuchen of salmon and shrimp. This clearly came from the freezer and I think even from the supermarket. No shrimp in sight. The flamkuchen was cold when it was served and I had to wait 20 minutes for a new one from the freezer. Ultimately paid over 70 euros for little quality and 4 wines. They advertise outside with cheap prices, but in the end you pay much more and you go home hungry.

When we had just ordered, we looked at the reviews, we should have done that immediately. Drinks were expensive and really not tasty, the food was very mediocre and quite expensive (16 euros). Lost a total of 34 euros.

This restaurant is a memory that will never leave our stomach. Just the view of the numerous houses opposite, which were further emphasized by the colorful garbage cans, awakened my inner child. The food refreshed my little gums. The exquisite beer, after four, warmed our hearts. We will always keep this event in our hearts. Thank you for this experience!

The service was nice and quick, but seemed to have no idea what ingredients the dishes were made from (probably because everything was frozen). The food is absolutely overpriced and not tasty: for a chicken schnitzel from the refrigerator with "cream sauce" (which consists only of fat and a few sliced ​​champions) with thin fries (which I get at the kebab shop next door) you pay just under €22. For a 0.4 Cola you pay just under €6. Unfortunately, even the schnitzel in the university cafeteria tastes better. The restaurant owners seem to have another restaurant nearby, which can be recognized by its similar decoration and ambience, so be careful.

All the negative reviews here are correct. Bad, very strangely rushed service, who tried to sell us all sorts of extra things (expensive salad, for example)... luckily we didn't fall for that. Very expensive drinks (8.90 for a glass of bad Riesling (was just sour, had probably been open for days), 4.40 for an open bottle of water without a cap, I suspect that it is constantly refilled with tap water), bad snacks with mushrooms and sauce from a bag/jar. Sad portion of cheap frozen fries from the wholesaler. Very poor with Mayo and ketchup from a bottle from the supermarket. Furthermore, the music in the store was way too loud. We quickly ate the whole tasteless situation, paid and left. Then looked at the reviews. If only we had done that before. But our experience is that everywhere in Germany a snitzel with fries and salad is just fine. This case is a disgrace and an insult to restaurants that make an effort to make something of it. Bad advertising also for the otherwise nice town of Cochum. Just get something delicious to eat and drink at the Christmas market!

Overpriced, poor service and low quality. Bottled still water costs 9, are you crazy? They came at 9pm to collect the money for the bill without asking for a last round or something and did not even give us tap water for the left wine we had on the table after paying the bill. Of course no tip deserved for ruining a nice evening.

Way overpriced! We paid 20 out of 110 eur for 2 bottles of mineral water (were already opened) . Restaurant closed at 21:00 and they refused even to give us a glass of tap water to finish our red wine (we mix it with)

We had barely sat at the table when we were asked for drinks without first seeing the menu. The drinks are absolutely overpriced. The food came out of the deep fryer. By fish & chips I mean something different. The fried fish is not edible! The fries were cold and tasteless. Not a small side salad. For over €13, it's a disgrace. A small snack can do that better. We expect different quality in a restaurant. Eating causes stomach pain. An absolute failure!

Don't let yourself be lured in!!! The food was brought for 5 people after 7 minutes. Food greasy, hard, partly burnt. None of it was freshly prepared. The food description does not match reality. The map on the outside poster sounds good, but it has nothing to do with the map inside. The waiter tried hard, everything else was more than subpar. The daily menu was a disaster. Tomato soup was okay. The Tom steak with fried onions and potato corners was a disaster. The steak wasn't fried properly. Not sure all the low rating review but mine was fine though. The waiter super friendly and can speak well English which helped a lot since we only know English.. environment and location also super strategic to visit cochem castle! Food wise not bad for us except the onion ring a little too hard. The rest is ok for us.

Main course was served before the starter was even finished. The table has already been cleared while you are still eating...salt and pepper gone before you have finished eating... Ordered a tarte flambée as a starter for 6 people. This arrived at our table lukewarm. When we told the waiter that it was lukewarm, we got the answer: that can't be the case. 🤷‍♂️Huh… I beg your pardon. Okay, I'll put it in the oven again. After about 15 minutes our tarte flambée came back to our table. Unbelievable: now he was frozen!!!!. So back again. Then came our main course. Schnitzel with fries, nothing unusual actually. Absolutely bland in taste. No taste. We didn't have to pay for the tarte flambée. But they don't see me there anymore. That's why such a review on Google. Totally justified. Not recommended!!!

Great food, especially if you love snitsel, like me. The termisu for dessert is recommended. You just have to take your time, so don't be in a hurry when you order Irish. Let's just say it helps you unwind. Restaurant consists of 2 floors with panoramic views over the Moselle.

Very friendly young lady came to take our order and we ordered a liter of Riesling, a bottle of water and calamari and warm mushrooms in garlic as a starter. Because we were really hungry, we ate the mushrooms even though they were deep-fried with a crispy crust around them, which we certainly had not thought of. Do not eat the calamari. After eating a few of them, I first thought of squeezing them in a napkin to get some of the oil out, but no, how can you serve calamaris that tasted like a floury dough ring wrapped in an oil-filled crust like that. Then the main course. I had schweinehaxe with fried potato slices and my wife a medium steak with mushroom sauce and also fried potato slices. A couple behind us left the restaurant and told us that they hoped for our sake that we had not ordered a steak as it was not tasty. And indeed, A tough, chewy pop was still tender. My wife left it after 3 bites and we didn't touch the potato slices after a few pieces. The fat dripped out of there too. Nevertheless, the schweinehaxe was okay, but it doesn't touch a deep fryer and is well wrapped in its own skin. So it would be great if you messed that up too. The Riesling and the bottle of water tasted fine, but after paying where they did take my wife's dish away, we went for a 5 km walk with a nauseous feeling, where I was able to spit out part of it myself, but my wife was unable to do so and Instead of going to a nice cafe, we ended up in bed quite miserable, where there is no fun to be had in that mood🤦‍♂️

Rarely have I eaten such a bad and cheaply made schnitzel. The meat was OK, the breading was so hard that it broke apart when I poked it. Onion schnitzel with fried onions that are not even home-made but rather from a can of fried onions (possibly also in a kg package). Service was okay and the ambience was great. In my opinion the prices are too high for the fairly modest quality.

It has almost become a tradition to eat here. Just like in all of Cochem, a glass of wine is very expensive. The food is bourgeois but good, you can make it as expensive and crazy as you want. Many restaurants on the boulevard have approximately the same concept, but almost none have such a beautiful location and you should take that into account, especially if you can sit outside on the balustrade. Staff are friendly and provide information about the dishes if you ask. See you next year.

Tourist trap! We were served quickly and the food came extremely quickly. The grape juice is some kind of artificial broth that has nothing to do with grape juice. The food was extremely bad, the sauces felt like they were made from packets and getting a small schnitzel for 20 euros is absurd. I would never get anything to eat there again.
