Nice place on the water, but the food is not worth the money (food and drinks in the photo were €26). I would rather spend my money at the market in the center or another nice place!

Food is below average. Had ordered schnitzel and fries with tzatziki. Fries tasted like they were fried with old oil, schnitzel was overcooked, tzatziki tasted like mayonnaise instead of yoghurt. Service was good, friendly staff though. Definitely not recommended.

Unfortunately we also read the reviews too late, absolutely not recommended. I've never been annoyed about money I spent on a meal. The hot fat ran out of the mushrooms, the frozen schnitzels were dry with a blob of thick sauce. The main course is served no more than 3 minutes after the starter. I can't remember ever eating so badly.

The fries were not tasty, quite tough and the fish was more flaky than fish. You had to eat fries, because there used to be fried fries, but not anymore. When we go back to Cochem we will look for another restaurant.

We ordered classic schnitzel. Food was on the table shortly after ordering (before the drinks). And unfortunately that's exactly how it tasted. Everything ready, just warmed up briefly. Sauce was on par with the finished sauces from the bag. What should you expect when the store puts someone down on the sidewalk who encourages people to go in. I won't eat here again. However, service was friendly, good and attentive. The view is beautiful if you get a terrace seat.

The place is beautiful. If you can sit on the front line with a view of the river it is divine. The food is good but nothing exceptional and it is expensive. We ate pork Milanese with sauce and fries. The potatoes were very weak, the frozen ones. They took a long time. They have menus that only serve at lunch. The prices on the billboard out front are liars. They allow smoking which bothered me a lot.

A breathtaking view...and dishes to take away your appetite...Lying prices, dishonest service, regarding the atmosphere without comment. We had been warned that restaurants on the banks of the Moselle should be avoided, they are real tourist traps!! A shame!

Catastrophe!!! We were there today and regret every euro we left there. The exception was the drinks, I guess you can't go wrong with that. We ordered 4x Champion cream schnitzel (€17.90), the only FRESH thing on the plate was the parsley. The schnitzel was a mixture of rubber and partly hard as a bone, it was not a fresh schnitzel and probably more like frozen food. Unfortunately the taste of the sauce was borderline and the mushrooms were canned When we wanted to pay we were asked “Cash or with card”, “Cash everything together please” the answer was “then go downstairs” “okay woooooow!” When we wanted to leave the restaurant, we went to the toilet, but as quickly as we were inside, we were outside again, totally dirty, a smell that burned our noses and the floor was completely wet (we don't know exactly what it was) absurd, just dirty!

Too expensive for the simple snack quality

No recommendation. We walked in spontaneously. The service was positive, a lot of respect to the staff. They were very attentive. The restaurant is probably more of a tourist trap. Chicken schnitzel was actually just frozen. The sauces hardly tasted good. Prices are way too high for such poor quality. It was an absolutely bad experience in terms of the topic. The tarte flambée and the non-alcoholic hefeweizen were very tasty.

In Cochem for only three nights and it was so disappointing to spoil one of them with this food. We only had a baked potato but it was way over priced for absolute rubbish. Couldn't finish it all and walked away hungry. Service was the only thing that was ok. I wish I had have read the reviews before we chose this one. I would avoid, there are better restaurants in Cochem.

The food was tasty, the portion was very small, and the price for the beer blew me away. I do not recommend it due to the insane price of the beer. Beer 0.4 l. A disaster, avoid it at all costs.

So we just had a drink. That was enough too. Apparently there is only TK Schnitzel along the Moselle. So not recommended. Not to mention the prices. Drinks were already expensive enough. It's easier to settle down in one of the small streets. There are humane prices and definitely a better atmosphere!

Price-performance ratio disaster and very dingy!

A restaurant with a direct view of the Moselle in the middle of Cochem. The food was tasty and served quickly. The drinks were fresh and cool. The service was quick and attentive. Overall, a tourist restaurant geared towards a large turnover of customers.

It would be better if we had looked at the reviews beforehand. What is on offer there is really underground. Unfortunately I can't rate it any worse. I can only advise staying away from there. Edith: small wine spritzer without wine but with stale sparkling water for €7.40. Pure rip-off!!

Excellent schnitzel and schwein steak. Excellent price quality. Nicely dressed. Service very nice and spontaneous. Drinks at the price. Beautiful view over the Moselle. Food came to the table quickly. Here you can just eat a quick, simple meal. You won't be sitting here dining all evening.

Tourist rip-off Normal prices are advertised for meat dishes that lack salad. However, the drinks are extremely expensive, which can make the visit very expensive. The atmosphere there seems quaint and the staff was nice as soon as they were there. The loud (always the same) music seems more like a shooter and is annoying.

The menu at the entrance said “15 different wines”… inside there was Aldi wine for 7.90 a glass!

Unfortunately we spontaneously decided to eat in the restaurant today. I didn't think about checking the recessions - my mistake. As most people write here, the schnitzel was a complete disaster. It is clearly a frozen product of poor quality that was then fried. At the edge it even looked like it had already been fried. We told the waiter that it didn't taste good. But this was responded to in the smallest possible way. The fries and potato wedges were ok. Also a frozen product but it’s ok too. By aioli I mean something different. It was more of a garlic curd.

I have the worst stomach in the world and can't understand the symptoms in any way. The shop is clean, the waiters are very hard-working and super polite - only the food is very simple, but serves its purpose.

This was by far the worst meal we have ever eaten. 1 star is still far too much. The wine is terrible and the beer is completely overpriced. Sad 😢 that something like this still exists!!!!

Nice view from the terrace. The rest is just bad 18 euros for schnitzel from the deep fryer Sauce from the jar. €6.90 for 0.3 liters of bitter lemmen from a dirty glass. What a terrible place, very unfriendly staff, pushy and drinks were abnormally expensive, the toilets were impassable, so filthy, absolutely crazy, if I had known this in advance I would have left immediately. steak was incredibly tough and the schnitzels were fat and crispy, just thrown into the fryer! Ordered a schnitzel with fried onion (because these are normally delicious in Germany), well then I expected a nice large schnitzel with freshly fried onion and not a small half schnitzel with dried onions from a jar, because I also have these at home and this is normal. not even on a schnitzel!! very bad tent, don't spend your money on this!! You get cheated in front of you and then you laugh... this is too sad. A huge disappointment!

We were hungry... our standards weren't high. Steak was tasty but had much better, the coleslaw from the can, very little Bernaise sauce, the potato wedges that tasted like old fat were carelessly thrown next to the steak. Just one sentence. worst restaurant in the whole world.

We were there on Thursday evening. We were really looking forward to schnitzel and were unfortunately totally disappointed. The schnitzel was fried and was swimming in fat. The mushroom sauce and the other sauces were definitely not fresh, but from a jar. Some of the fries were still raw. Unfortunately the night was spent in the bathroom. Such a disgrace for the price. Absolutely not recommended!!!

I was so happy to eat there with my four children because the location is great. Was so very disappointed. I spent well over 100 euros on cans of Champions and cheap Spätzle. Poor quality meat. Our last evening in Cochem was something like that. Shame on you. I won't start with the toilet. My little brother gave my daughter a diaper when she was six, the main thing was not to go to a toilet like that. Gives the restaurant to people who know something about their work and also have fun doing it. I only give minus stars.

The food was eaten, but I can also eat fast food and it wasn't restaurant quality and would have been too expensive for half the price. The Aperol Spritz was delicious but at €9.90 it was way too expensive for 0.2. The Hugo for 8.90 was not good and also very small. I would recommend the aioli, but not the restaurant/fast food joint. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews beforehand. Price/performance is far from right for me, so it's a clear rip-off. It's better to leave your money somewhere else

Impudence!! From the outside it looks inviting, but then it becomes catastrophic. Wine cannot be tasted in advance but must be ordered directly. The Wiener Schnitzel was clearly frozen and was just thrown into the deep fryer, not to mention the size, including fries for €23. The normal schnitzel, ordered as a senior plate, is the same size as a normal one. The sauces taste similar to a ready-made sauce. The staff only spoke broken German, the service was unfriendly, and the season was still just beginning. DANGER!! All the restaurants (pizzeria, steakhouse, etc.) on the street side, about 100m, obviously belong together, despite different names.

Excellent restaurant with delicious food. And cosy Contrary to some recent reviews, we had an excellent meal, excellent quality for a good price. And the service was also very neat and correct, excellent help. The choice on the menu was also wide, we sat on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Moselle, where it was nice and busy, inside the restaurant it was significantly less, but yes, we were there in the late season. The wine we drank was delicious, very large glasses, which were well priced (6.00 euros!) At the end of the evening it turned out that we had spent more money drinking than eating. But fun. So we will definitely visit Vonderbeck's Restaurant again!

Yeah, what can I say. I was looking forward to fish and ships, the waitress did her job and the drinks came quickly. When the food was on the table immediately afterwards, my companion and I were surprised. The food was lukewarm and clearly tk, we ate and paid, my companion felt sick afterwards. As a side note, the couple at the next table said when they got up, "I've never eaten so badly before", which sums it up nicely.

I would prefer to give 0 stars. It's an absolute disgrace how this restaurant cheats. They want to attract tourists with their “beautiful location” and then fool them. The supposed small drink came as a medium sized drink with the statement that the small drink was only for children. This information was not included in any card. We also got a tomato soup as a starter that tasted like it was “fresh from the can”. The waiters were ZERO accommodating and also unusually cheeky. So save your money or eat at McDonald’s instead. At least you get better service.

You don't read the reviews beforehand and (of course) go all out... We paid EUR 52.50 for 2 cheap schnitzels from the discount store (they should be hunter and onion schnitzels), 2 straight soft drinks and a glass of sparkling wine paid, that's really cheeky! The waiters were slightly overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't even crowded. The restaurant itself, okay. However, nothing special, except a good view of the Moselle (sat outside). However, the toilets are an absolute disgrace - even the free toilets on the motorways are cleaner and smell more pleasant...

Believe the negative reviews: Food is bad and drinks are ridiculously expensive. Waiter seemed restless and rushed, even though there was almost no chicken. We were also not allowed to sit in the corner, but were moved to a two-person table because other guests were coming... but they never came. The chairs were not comfortable. I had ordered a small dish in advance. That wasn't surprising. The waiter was shocked when I had not yet finished my starter and he already arrived with the main course (it is indeed quickly prepared with a microwave or deep fryer). Meat was very salty and tough, and the schnitzel was soggy. Fries were soft. Well... then you better stay home. Then the bill came and then you know you've been ripped off when the food is disappointing and the drinks are way too expensive. For just 1 beer and 2 shots: €20 *Don't* go in here.

This type of gastronomy damages the entire reputation of the industry. It's a shame that the city of Cochem doesn't intervene here.

The location directly on the Moselle promenade is very nice. But that was it then. I have rarely eaten worse. Fries didn't have the coleslaw from the packet and the sauces were just disgusting. Only the wine was drinkable. Anyone who gives this place more than 3 stars definitely got their food for free.

Frozen goods from the deep fryer! The plate came from the kitchen with a thick film of grease on it and the food on it was only lukewarm when you arrived at the table. We looked online to see what the retail price of the food was and the retail price in the store. The bottom line is a restaurant that is designed purely for profit. Not worth recommending, it's a real shame, given the prices you could have expected something reasonable from the kitchen.

You get your main course while you are still working on your starter. Just makes you feel like you need to get away as quickly as possible. Fries were lukewarm and the sauce on the snitzel was barely there
